This one has been on solved puzzle for a long time (think it might be at the top now?) so great to be able to finally grab the final. I had set aside today to get to our 514 mysteries target (500 puzzles minus 14 challenges) before our 2 year anniversary that I have been working towards all year; this was the ninth of 10 that I needed. Nice walk though here and although the GPS was slightly off managed to spot what I was looking for. Cache is in good condition. TFTC.
What a fun cache this was, dexided to do it all in foot from the house....3hrs later and one very muddy dog later we find the cache. Had a hreat tramp through the bush, what an awesome track! Many thanks
I was heading out to chance my arm at another of this CO's puzzle caches so decided to look in on this one too since I had solved it a wee while back. Like others I enjoyed the interesting walk through here and stopped to admire the beautiful kauri tree on the way. Made sure to do the shoes thing before and after too. I noted the signs admonishing walkers from stepping off the path, no doubt to protect the kauri tree so made my assessments from the trail before a brief duck off to sign the log and back again. All is well here and in good condition. TNLNSL - thanks for the fun puzzle and the placement here, certainly a good spot for a cache.
I have been been meaning to solve this one so long ago! Just never got around it until today when I had some time off work. So off I went to have a look... I got to GZ after a steep walk down a trail, I have been here before for another cache which I think has been archived! On to the gorgeous Kauri others have mentioned then GZ! Took me a minute to reveal the cache and sign myself in. Thanks sp8sm8 for keeping this one going.
Found this on a beautiful walk. Thanks for bringing us to this lovely place. Huge Kauri Tree. Magnificent.
#11711. We enjoyed our short walk in a part of Auckland we hadn't visited before. TFTC.
We are back in Auckland for a few days and a visit to Titirangi and Huia was on the to do list. We were a little slow getting started this morning, as I spent a while researching the caches we would be looking for. Of course, solved puzzles were high on the list!
Puzzle was straightforward solve and the cache was an easy find too. A pleasant walking track too, which we had to ourselves today. TFTC.

I was in the area to grab another puzzle cache that I had solved so I thought I would give this one a go. Initially I went too far down the path thanks to a wandering GPS, but after a short fruitless search I repositioned and was more successful. TFTC!
Very cool puzzle, simple and fun. Nice quick find. with hint. Loved the majestic Kauri nearby. Did not even know this track existed. Found with merlot58 and geodog.
Something may have been missing but I didn't miss anything! Nice puzzle, I enjoyed the walk to here with ugnz and geodog along a track I didn't know existed. Wow, that Kauri nearby is stunning!
I missed something out on my first visit and was out of gz by several hundred meters
[|)] and on second visit forgot to take the info with hint [B)] fortunately we had a signal for data and found it with hint, otherwise a third visit would have been needed. Doh. Thanks for a cool puzzle cache and spot to bring us

#287 Geodad, Geoboy and Geogirl (Geomum is in Wellington for the weekend) decided to spend this afternoon collecting some of the geocaches up near Titirangi. Completed puzzle sometime ago, but not sure how or when. What an awesome Kauri tree nearby the GZ on this one. Geogirl lead the way to area but it was Geodad's turn to find cache. Quickly signed.

Solved a few weeks ago and finally got out to locate this one. A very fine specimen of a large Kauri close by.
Impressive what your eyes can do! Easy find at GZ after reading the hint. Container is in good conditions. TFTC
Solved a while ago, have set myself the goal of collecting all solved puzzles before starting any more! not sure how long that will last
Area looks like its been turned over, plants hacked down, weeding in progress? cache safe in its hiding place. Lovely area on a fine day. Thanks for the puzzle and the hide.

I enjoyed doing this one especially deciphering the puzzle. Quite amazing how much can be read without vowels. Great location in this valley with the hidden giant kauri.
Quick puzzle, took us longer to find cache...gps a but random today, Thanks for bringing us here.
Ha ha ..... had solved this a while ago ,,,, and today had the chance to get the cache as we had several other Titirangi ones to do too ....
Thanks sp8sm8...was a real laugh ...especially the last part which I missed at first !!!! lol

Great puzzle, thanks. Enjoyed the short walk in - a lot drier than the last time I ventured along this track. Stopped for a moment to admire the kauri before picking up the cache. TFTC.
I was up in Auckland for an evening and half a day to drop off my Mum on her trip back to the States so I took the opportunity to grab a few caches and challenges that helped me with D/T boxes and gettting my Puzzle numbers up. I wasn't able to grab everything for during MEGA so it's was nice to have a few solved puzzles and challenges up the sleeve for a quick visit like this.
I just can't get my head around these tracks, they look like peoples walkways. I parked at what I thought would be the track start but it was a person's house. I walked up the way a bit and found a track. It didn't quite match my GPSr, oh well. I headed down a million steps and wasn't getting any closer to the cache, in fact it was creeping away from me. In the pitch black with my fading torch light I made my way in the surprisingly dry bush. Heaps of moreporks moreporking away . I found a great old specimen at GZ and stood in awe even in the dark. The cache was quick to find. I decided not to go the way I came [B)][B)] and popped out what did seem like someone's house and found I needed to walk an extra 10mins up some windy roads. Good fun and enjoyed the quick puzzle to boot, solved this one two Christmas' ago nice to tick off. As I'm writing the log I noticed the "not reccommended at night" attribute [xx(][xx(]
Thanks for the cache.

Away from the madness that is Christmas, caching of course. A quick find after I re-read the instructions that is. Great to see the kauri being looked after. Thanks for the hide
Finally, a friendly puzzle and not one that leaves me scratching my head for days! Haven't been through these walkways in years - I grew up around here and we used to take these tracks to a creek that had freshwater crayfish after school each day, wish I could remember where the creek was! I'm always impressed with the size of Kauris, magnificent!

Attempted with iwicampnut on Day 7 in Auckland for NZ Mega 13.
Unfortunately kiwicampnut and I had different solutions and it was my co-ords that were fed into the car GPS. Her's were correct.
Oh dear!
decided to move on to the next one as parking anywhere in the area was at a premium. Not one for a weekend ...

Had no trouble deciphering this one! Our langauage can be quite strange at time!
Found by Kaisho53.
This is Day 2 of our trip to the Land of the Long White Cloud for the 2013 NZ MEGA event in Auckland. I joined Gunnie69 and Kaisho53 for a fun packed 5 days of geocaching adventures.

A great location to finish the caching day for Ghostgums, Kaisho53 and Myself. We took a stroll down the path and came across a magnificent tree adjacent to the deck. Ghostgums immediately drew his camera and snapped a few pics... Once done, the hunt commenced and we had different ground zeros in our GPSs... I was a few meters further down the track and had identified a potential hiding spot, when Kaisho53 let out a "Yo"... Hmm, guess It's not in there then I thought, as I made my way over to the real GZ...
We added our names to the log and tucked the cache back, before taking to the trail for the return journey.... [^]
Cheers sp8sm8.

there is a brand new walkway in the area that I thought the cache is hidden, is it still there??
Needed a find for the 3rd so thought I'd pop out to find one or two. Solved the puzzle a few months back and decided today was a good day to find it.
Took SquishyD with me and parked near the entrance to the trail. However, I hadn't realised how steep the footpath was and SquishyD (being 3 yrs old) struggled with the steps and the path in general. Initially walked past GZ and searched the wrong area. Eventually, we reached GZ and the cache was quickly located.
Then we followed the route back to the car, although this time, I ended up carrying SquishyD up all the steps. TFTC and for the exercise.

Found after doing the puzzle a few days ago, love this kind of puzzle - not too hard. Had cache in hand once having spotted the right tree group!
Solved the puzzle some time ago (nice one - a puzzle I could solve by myself!) and was in the general area today so decided to make a short detour and try to find the cache. No problems here. A short muggle free search and the cache was found. TFTC, Biggles.
I solved this one over a year ago--it's one of only two Auckland puzzles left in my old puzzle book. Really, about time I actually got out and found it! No problem with the solve. Nice quick find of the cache even with the GPSr being silly under the tree cover. Took the less direct route in so enjoyed a lovely stroll under the trees. Cheers for the puzzle cache!
Solved some time ago, but never seemed to go and get it. Finally, I can log the cache.
Lots of new development going on with track upgrades.
Thanks for the cache!

Headed out for my birthday today, exploring the area between Titirangi and Whatipu.
Noticed this puzzle cache along the way and was able to quickly solve it. Surprised that it hasn’t been found for well over a year! We stopped on our way back home to look for the cache and found it easily – it was visible from the path, so we recovered with a Nikau frond. The cache and contents are still in good condition.
Thnks fr th cch sp8sm8!

I know what was missing.......... while we were on the way to the cache we found the treads of the steps were missing......
Cache safe and well concealed but with the hint we made light work of it.
Thanks Sp8's

return2nai solved this one so it was on the list for our trip home after our holiday. No problems with find - got barked at by the nearby dogs, Emma and Larry! TFTC!
Solved at work (I'm sure I was on lunch at the time) and then was in the area after having a great old time at the GC event. Soggy tramp to the cache but everything inside was nice and dry for signing. Will have to do the complete walk around here once it dries up again. TFTC
No worries with the find, after I had a lesson in why I should always read the whole cache page. Thanks.
Really loved the tree... we were very careful with shoes. Th smthng missng ws a gps sgnl. Cache was rather exposed so covered carefully. t4tc
Out for our morning walk for this one. Haven't been down this track in years. Took geocoin and left Qataricamel travel bug. Valiant find!
Out with BaldEd mainly on a signoff of solved puzzle caches with the odd trad as well.
Walked down from the top and then back up the road.
In: Geocoin.
Cheers for the cache

Out caching with Tufty and we saw and followed the 'higher' (& muddier) access instead of the non-muddy 'low' access route to the cache. We both admired the magnificent kauri that is near the cache. - Canadian geocoin. Thanks for the puzzle (and cache). Cheers.
Yeah, a puzzle we can do without hours of research or testing the grey matter too much. Thanks for the puzzle and the cache.
Found together with OG Phatazz. Nothing missing here! Decent size tree by the cache. T4TC

Came across the 'Tramper Ted' team while searching for this one. Well, in fact Tramper Ted already had it in their grasp so it was pretty easy for us.. thanks for that! Great to meet fellow 'cachers endeavouring in the same pursuit. TFTC
Thought we were getting muggled by real muggles, but they turned out to be Team Ainaro01 - great to meet some interesting new cachers. Admired the fab. Kauri and dropped off a couple of bugs, thought the Tiger would like prowling around here. TFTC
Solved the puzzle during the week so pleased we had time to visit. Neat reserve and a magnificant tree. We were there sometime after 5pm and looks like we must have just missed Tramper Ted and the other cachers as there were no TBs when we signed the log. Thanks for sharing this place with us T4TC.
Solved the missing pieces last night as I was heading out this way in the morning. Nice walk early morning.

Fun decoding! I decided to approach the cache from the top to get a decent walk in, and was rewarded with some great tropical looking bush, a huge kauri and a meeting of the Clan Tui. Never heard such a grouping before, they were going hammer and tongs! All NZ bush must had sounded like this long ago....
Quiet down by the cache, but another magnificent kauri grows nearby - not to be missed! On my return, the tuis had settled down but were still numerous.
Added jeep TB, Cheers!
