Now we know why 4WD Fanatics couldn't find the cache.
I have asked Dutchies of Oz to post the cache to me in Alice Springs. I'll be back in the West in November and will rush down to replace it then.

This one has definitely been muggled! How do I know this without even having been anywhere NEAR the cache? Well, friends of us have friends over from Holland and upon their return to Perth their son showed his fantastic find! Indeed the cache! They didn't know anything about geocaching. Believe me, now they do! Anyway WanAus76, do you want me the post the cache to you?
Great find. Seeking shelter on a typically wet pemby day. We suggest the steak burger at the pemby pub
Found it with Geo-rge, Miss Jane & EMDH on our WA road trip.
It a quick find, putting it back was harder! After signing the log, I went to put back but 4 young children were playing, around, under & over the gun. We waited about 10Mins then they moved off, I quickly replaced the cache.

WanderingAus wandered by on a maintenance run, confirmed the cache was missing, and hid a new nano in the centre line of the gun.
Good to go, enjoy.

It seems I was a few days early to find this cache. Stopped by on a Bibbulmun end to end hike but couldn't find what turned out to be the muggled cache.
Is this cache still in place - had prime visit: no muggles and 4 people looking.
Gave GZ a good search looking in several places with no luck. It maybe gone??
Stop in Pemberton on way back from some excellent geocaching in Walpole (look out for roymerc caches).
Had to check this one out as 'hers indoors' Grandfather served with 8th battery Third AFAB in both Gallipoli and the Somme.
Loved all the info - Thanks

18.40 - Visiting from Cairns and enjoying GCaching in WA. Arrived safely in Pemberton, we could not resist to have a sniff at some caches here. The challenge here was to extract the container. nice spot. Well done. +/-0. T4TC.
DreadedChick is right, this gun is definitely an Italian made gun, affectionately known to the Gentleman of the Royal Australian Artillery as a "Spaghetti gun".
These lightweight howitzers were designed as mountain guns, and were found to be unsuitable for the heavy usage they were put to in Vietnam.
They were replaced with the US made howitzer AFTER the "Battle of Long Tan", but during that battle gave sterling service in support of D Coy 6 RAR. Eighteen of these guns together with six US Army 155mm guns fired a "Fire Mission Regiment" during the battle - that involved 24 guns ALL firing on the same target.

Had A Debate With Some Local. I Was Sayn The Gun Was Made In Italy, He Said "NO, America". We Talked And We Dont Know Who Is Right. I Stuck To My Guns Tho. Thanks
Found after CWA markets. Very hot day so this was the only cache I did before heading for the swimming dam. TFTC
We were sitting on the grass eating lunch when I idly checked my phone to see if there were any geocaches nearby and "what do you know" there was one 11m away!
A quick find. TFTC!

We were camping at the Big Brook Arboretum nearby, which is a very nice spot. Found this cache on a visit to the IGA store for supplies. TFTC.
Finally found it in my 3rd attempt. My first cache in Australia and the first cache for Felicetto and Rafa at all.
Found this Cache on the way from Darwin to Perth on our Honeymoon. TFTC greetings from Switzerland
Stopped for morning tea at the nearby table and was lucky to find this one after a short searched.
Slowly getting better at these micro hides. Thanks WanderingAus great history in a pretty town.

Took a quick detour on the way home from a house boat holiday in Walpole with Jadeboo. I kept watch while Jadeboo located the cache, we both signed the log, replaced it and headed back on our way.

Didn't have a pen but we were driving past and thought we'd do a quick cache hunt. Folded the page that we should have written on! TFTC!
Took a brief detour in the way back to Perth after a wonderful weekend down south. Decided to pop into Pemberton to check out the Gloucester Tree, balked at the $11.00 NP Entry fee (we were only going to be there for 5 mins) and instead chose the cheap option of parking outside the NP and walking in. The tree was pretty cool and is well worth checking out.
On the way out of town, I spied this cache on my geo map, so we stopped, located, logged and rehid the cache. A nice straight forward WanderingAus find.

We had lunch at the nearby table when I checked for caches in the area. Quick find, tftc
Nice quick find in the fading evening light. Had to come back after a tasty dinner at the pub to fill in the log as didn't bring a writing stick first visit. TFTC.
Early morning find before the town even woke up. Quickest gun hide we've ever done!
See entry for 'Needs Maintenance'. Just realised this didn't register as a find for MadPac! Updated on 25/10/2012.
Definitely a high muggle area, and a find in the middle of the day is tricky! Found the cache on my second stroll to the GZ, only to pull it out of it's hiding place and find that it is now a home to ALOT of ants! Tried to knock all the critters out of the container after signing the log, but somehow I think it'll be a temporary removal. Ants all over my hands too! TFTC WanderingAus!

Nice quick find eventhough I felt the eyes of pemberton where on me. I guess they don't like the dreadlocked variety around here. I can remember it being in the news when the timber mill was opened
Employing a Couple of people. But driving around town I could not help but notice all the bard and breakfasts and cottage industries for sale And guess it is all related. Tftn

GeoJack! The kids got his eye in, he's dominated the caches on the way to Pemberton and the CreightonCrew can't stop him.
found @ 9:35 with mum and dad (ross47)
Quick find.
Nice to find a cache on a gun, as usually we do have a little bit of trouble with them.

A quick find @ 09:35 in the company of the geowife and emeraldflame as we start heading back east. Usually guns are a problem for us, so it was nice to find one like this.
Thanks to Keith for the cache.

A very complete example. Had to wait until a dad muggle showed his small boy the workings. Tftc
Found after a spot of dinner on a day of truffling. Should have found it quicker!
Quick find on a wet winter day. This was my 200th find and quite memorable as I remembered seeing photos of my father in the war using guns like this. Was interesting to read the names on the wall and seeing so many go to war from such a small community. TFTH WanderingAus
Just happened to stop at the park for a coffee break,
spotted the gun and we thought there was bound to
be a cache there, lo and behold there was and Maz found it.

What a wonderful area. So beautiful. First find of the RSL gun series, not for want of trying... TFTC!
Did a quick search whilst muggles walked the other way. weroamin came over and put his hand on the cache before I could snap my fingers. Oh well, its good to have another set of eyes in the team. TFTC.
I could have almost baulked at this one - I hate gun hides; however this one was not as hard as many, many others, and it was soon in hand. A nice cache. TFTC
Took a systematic search but not difficult, on the way back from the Karri Cup bike event ex Northcliffe.
This gun is in the best condition of the handful I've seen - fascinating.

#448 Pemberton is a really nice town. We stayed at the Forest Lodge Resort for 2 nights. From the resort, we walked to the Gloucester tree and climbed all the way to the top. We were treated to awesome views. We also did the 800m walk around the karri forests. Then trekked our way back to the resort. As if that adventure wasn't enough, I went to town and looked for this cache. It's good that I went on the afternoon, as it was muggle free. This gun reminds me of the cache Kaboom near Sydney. TFTC!
We found this nice cache during our vacation in Western Australia.
