Quick find. Great hint and directions. Staying at Cania Gorge retreat for a couple of nights. Nice hike past Fern Tree pool and then to this lookout for a great view. Thanks for bringing us here
Did the 5k loop counter clockwise as has been suggested. This is an enjoyable walk, well worth the effort
What an incredible journey it was to reach this lookout on top of the mountain! The hike was challenging, with steep ascents and breathtaking vistas along the way. But the real treasure was reaching this geocache spot. The coordinates were accurate, and I found the cache hidden amongst the rocks. It's a fitting reward for the effort it took to get here. The panoramic views from this lookout are simply awe-inspiring. I can see for miles in every direction, and it's a reminder of the beauty and vastness of nature. I left a small trinket in exchange for the one I took from the cache, and I hope the next adventurer enjoys it as much as I did.A big thanks to the cache owner for placing this cache in such a remarkable location. Geocaching has once again brought me to a place of wonder and amazement.
Found it on first day at Cania Gorge. Beautiful hot day and lovely track. Found quite easily but pen out of ink so had to use some old charred stick to log. Found the trackable and as the first time finding one have decided to move it on with us.
Found at 11.00hrs. Nice walk to this site and the lookout is amazing.

Nice early morning cache. Still foggy out there but great views.

We walked the loop to the Fern Tree pool first, then up to Giant's Chair lookout. I think this direction gives a more gradual climb. The view was the best we'd seen in the park. Nice picnic table and viewing deck. Found the cache no problem. TFTC
I'm out for an early morning trail run from the nearby caravan park and stopped for a breather at the top of the climb, to check out the incredible view and to find this geocache, of course! Now off to the Fern Tree Pool.

Took the geo kids L (7) and M (5). M enjoyed the walk and surprisingly she didn’t complain L however complained all the way that he was hot and sweaty. I enjoyed the physical challenge although at the time climbing the steps I hated it the reward at the end was wonderful. I took some obligatory pictures.
Nice easy find. The circuit walk was fantastic and really enjoyed the views. Thanks for the cache.
Second for the day.. we loved this circuit.. view fantastic. Great little hide. Found and signed quickly as had muggles not far behind us.. tyfc
Found with Geo-partner as she was smart enough to check that there were caches in the area when staying at the Big4.
Stairs. They're a thing
Everyone was keen to grab this cache ASAP. I wasn't so keen after our big drive. But we all do what we must do...
I did enjoy the stairs - said no Fangsoki ever. But after much huffing and puffing, I finally lugged my person up toward GZ. After taking in the view, we set about finding the cache. Thankfully, it was found nice and quick. A bit of effort - but the rewards were well worth it. TFTC Storkers

Fangsoki, Pprime and I were joining KBreeAHH and Ponchomon11 for a long weekend in Cania Gorge to celebrate KBreeAHH’s birthday. Arriving a day later than them, we had a detour via Gladstone first before making our way here and setting up camp.
With that done, and still some daylight left, we decided to head up here to the Giant’s Chair, a relatively short and easy hike for the afternoon.
Well those stairs were quite the warm up! After heading up and up and up some more, we eventually arrived at the lookout, where there was another man who left as we arrived, letting us know this was the only place he could get any mobile phone service. Once he began heading down the stairs to the carpark, we headed over to admire the view before making our way across to the cache, where we made a quick find.
Thanks for the cache Storkers.

An awesome long weekend away with Fangsoki, 1MinnieMoo, KBreeAHH and Ponchomon11 in this superbly awesome and amazing location. This was sort of my introduction (other than a previous visit to the Dragon cave and the drive in) to the whole majesty of this gorge ... and a great spot to look up and down it from. Lots of steps getting there, but well worth it. Easy find, even whilst distracted by the views.
Thanks Storkers/D.D.Dudes for entertaining me at this location.

Nice find. Love these kind of caches. Needs a new pen. Will carry some on my next hunt just in case.

Don't know where the Giant sat but I sat on the picnic table for 10mins to catch my breath then found and SL before enjoying the view then off back down to the car park. Now where is that Giant anyhow???.TFTC
Just had phone call from The X-trailers telling me what a great cache this was.
Definately on my to do list when in area next time .Apparently the steps were quite a challenge for them.

Our second day at Cania and made an early start to the Giants Chair. It really got the heart racing but were rewarded with a great view. The cache was found signed and replaced. Picked up golden eagle tb.
Found it after a big puff up the hill. Then down to the fern pool, lots of birds here. TFTC
Lovely day for a walk in the park. Found with partner. Off to find another cache. TFTC.
TFTF, in good condition. Have taken the TB-Olivia's Dragon Seahorse & left the Golden Eagle Buggy to continue it's journey.
Just to note, the other two tbs are not here.

Beautiful spot. Visited on my birthday. Dropped off a TB whose mission is to visit National Parks. Hope someone can move it on to more beautiful spots. Now for the downhill. Aaarrgh.
We are camping nearby & decided to make the climb up to the Giants chair before heading back to camp for lunch. We didn't have time for the 5.2km circuit so were going to take the hard road up & back. Well that was the plan til we headed off along the circuit track & wandered why it wasn't very steep with lots of steps! Realized our error after about 10minutes & found the right track & headed up a lot of steps!
Finally arrived at the lookout to a fab view on a beautiful Qld winters day. Had a chat to some fellow travelers & then headed off to find the cache. A quick find of another great ammo tin. All good with this one, log signed, added a few swaps & replaced as found.

The area around GZ has been burnt off recently. All is well. Container and contents are all in excellent condition. Future cachers please cover the container well with rocks to protect it from fire. TFTC.

Found on a glorious day and great walk with views! Tftc! Astroboy1967 & youarehereoz
I did the clockwise route to GZ & did the rest of the walk to carpark – this was a nice walk as the heat / humidity was kicking in - TFTC / TFTH / SL
We took the anticlockwise route to GZ and enjoyed the various changes in environment (and temperature) between the creek bed areas and the higher forested slopes. Fern Tree Pool was a very pleasant surprise before heading up the stairs.
We passed a few walkers on our way and on reaching the lookout it seemed everyone arrived at the same time, some from our direction, others from the more direct steps route. So we decided to follow the cliff line away from the lookout for a quick cuppa from the Jetboil and wait for the muggles to to leave.
With a cool breeze blowing up the valley on a hot day, it was an easy way to rest up for a while until the coast was clear. It didn't take long to find the prize and the log book was duly signed. All is good with the cache, nice and dry inside.
We checked out the 'chair", deciding the giant must have had an odd shaped backside, or an very uncomfortable rest. Maybe the great views took his mind off it?
That done, it's down the steps we go. Sure glad we came the way we did, best going down than up. An excellent hide and a fav point from us. TFTC Storkers.

This one was on our first "big" (5.2km) walk around Cania Gorge. The notes we got from the caravan park suggested that we should do this circuit in an anti-clockwise direction, with a relatively long gentle climb up past the "ferntree pool" (which was a little rancid due to the prolonged dry spell), followed by a steep decent for the last 900 metres past the Giants Chair. The cache itself was fairly easy to locate, and the view from the lookout was spectacular. We're glad we took the advice about the direction - climbing UP that 900 metre section would have killed us. TFTC Storkers, and Cheers from Bindair Dundat and the Princess.
