Good Day,
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Looking forward to hearing from you,

But the log is NOT in a usable condition. The log is water logged and a solid unusable mass.
I had found the Nerang Forest Reserve caches a few years ago (but never logged them). So I decided to revisit these cache sites, and this time log them.
This cache is still present, nothing taken, nothing left.
But the log is NOT in a usable condition. The log is water logged and a solid unusable mass.
So despite the water proof container and plastic covering the log book has deteriorated.

I felt like a walk today to blow some cobwebs away.
After finding #3 it was time to come and visit this one.
It has been a while since the last find.
The log was a little damp and delicate so I added a new waterproof sheet.
Glad I wasn't biking up this hill between 2 & 3.

Found after a long hike uphill! Log sheet is a bit damp and falling apart, I'm giving it a few mins in the sun to dry out.

A beautiful walk in the state forest today. Pretty incredible the cache survived the burn off from not too long ago. Tftc
Just had a control burn in this area and not much left. Found a marble in the ashes at GZ, maybe that was part of the SWAG.
TFTC read the past log, had a better look and there it was. Amazing it survived. As they say in bushfire survival - place something solid between you and the flames.
As I came up up the hill towards this one there was a strong smell of burning which had me a bit worried. However I couldn't see smoke anywhere so I pushed onward. As I got close to gz I could see there'd been some burning off done recently, probably yesterday most likely as some places are still smoking.
GZ was right in the middle of the burnt area so I wasn't feeling very optimistic about finding the cache. I looked around for something that fit the hint and my heart sank as I realised there was a long pile of smoking ash right about where gz was. At one point there were even still red hot embers. As I looked around a little more something caught my eye and on closer inspection I soon found the cache.
Amazingly it is still intact and has taken no damage from the fire. I signed the log and replaced it back in it's well protected hidey hole.

I had left the wide fire trail and was walking around the MB trail until I lost all bearings. I made it back to the trail and from then on everything was straight forward. I would suggest not using the MBT unless on a MB. They tend to appear quite quickly and silently. Thanks again eau man oz.
Third one for the day. Mountain biking & geocaching - doesn't get any better than this !
We continued on after finding Casuarina 3. It was a very enjoyable walk around the main track.
Thanks eauman oz, we enjoyed the area.

By now I'm raising a bit of a sweat, but its good to work for achievement, amazing how many bikes ride this track, nice easy find in the end and enjoyed the challenge.TFTC.
Geo Wife and I headed out today just to do the rest of the Casuarina (MTB) series.
We had read all the logs before we even got out the door so we were as prepared as we could be.
We had done No.1 almost 2 years ago so we headed straight up the hill to here because we had read it was better going around this way.
We were pleased to find that the going was not that hard even though we were climbing.
We got to GZ had a quick look around and Geo Wife came up smiling.
Thanks Eauman Oz TFTC SL

Went on a half day run, to revisit a few areas that I had either missed caches at or failed to find. Some top caches found, really enjoyed this little run. I was actually "kid free" on the day, which for me, was a bit of a miracle. Thanks to all cache owners for hiding and maintaining their caches.
------------------------------------------------------------------
Went on a great walk to grab these three caches, having done the first one, some years back on a visit to the Gold Coast. Went to this one last, and found after a short search. Took a break here before walking back down to the car. TFTC.

Quite a few muggles around but managed to find the cache without being noticed. Thanks for the cache eauman_oz!
Second one in the series and the second find. After going down the hill on the other side Im glad I came this way up. not so steep. I think the tree coverage was playing havoc with my Gps. I went around in circles a bit until I found the little sucker. I love M&Ms. SL. Thanks for the cache Eauman oz
Second find for the day. This was about 10m out for me too but because of the last couple of logs had it in hand in a tick. TFTC...
The co-ords were about 10m out for me. Found using the clue. Had to replace the log here too.
I'm just slowly making my way south for a week-end out on the bike. The second day on the bike for me down the coast.
I don't know what I was thinking when I decided to do this series. I'm on a touring bike towing a trailer NOT a MTB.
This was the last of the series and i too the wrong track thinking to cut across the corner. I had to bush bash with the bike down a steep hill to get back on the right track. At least this cache was not a soggy mess. Thought the lob is crumbling up a bit. A bit of TLC here would not go astray while you are out fixing the others in the series.

After a difficult climb up a steep mountain, Noo82 and I were thankful that we'd come well prepared, however, 2 bottles of water were barely enough. This was a tough bike ride even though the track is classified as "easy". Took nothing, signed log (which was soggy).
What we thought was the right track to number 2 was actually not, it just weaved around to bring us back to the start. So second time lucky we followed another one UP HILL. By the time we got to the second cache I was glad to have to stop. We soon located GZ and found the cache, the log was damp but still managed to sign.
Today 4th cache in this area. Beautiful weather and an exciting trip with my friends. thanx
This ended up being the last of the Casuarina series I did (yes I did them all the wrong way!) Thankfully all my climibing steep hills had been done for the day. I trudged onto GZ and found the cache after a bit of a hunt. The log was a little damp - but still usable. TFTC eauman_oz - a very enjoyable series
I had dropped Mrs Crew off at the RSL for some therapy so I had a couple of hours free to have my own therapy. After doing the 3 others in the series I just had to complete this one.
Found the cache easily and then off to the car (1.25km by the GPS).
Thanks for a great walk for the afternoon. Makes up for my punishment to all the cachers at the recent event..

Find number 299....Three down, one to go.
I decided to knock over these four caches in an arvo (on foot).
After trekking up the hill for a while I was glad to find this one. TFTC
It is back down the hill for the last of the four.
While signing the log one of those pesky cache dwelling frogs tried to hop on in..... but didn't fit..... so is sitting on the cache in it's hiding spot.

The last one in my trip around to all four, this end of the bush anyway. Thanks eauman_oz
My final find in this series. Was easier than Casuarina 3 although not without a small adventure. I was following dirt road but looked on my GPSr and saw that I could cut off a chunk of road by cutting across country a 100m or so only to find that the slope fell away quite dramatically over the ridge line. After picking my way down was soon back on the road and up to the cache for a quick find. Thanks Eauman oz for a great series of caches and a chance to explore a bit of our nearby forests. All up, on foot the 3 caches, Casuarina 2,3 and 4, took me about 1hr 40min and about 6km return. Although it was quite hot in the end and I did a have a few minutes rest after the steep climb to number 3. TFTC
After a very enjoyable, if not a bit warm and occasionally wet walk this morning I was on the downhill run at last
One more Casuarina (MTB) cache to grab.
I poked around the likely spot at GZ for a few minutes before giving up and taking a seat
Time for a refreshing fizzy drink
As I supped I looked over me shoulder and spotted the cache [:o]
No wonder I didn't see it before, it's too obvious
TFTC and stroll around the forest.

I checked this today while on my lunchtime mountain bike ride! Although I had checked it since the fires went through it appeared to have gone this time & I was about to give up when I found it lying on the other side of the track! So I have rehid it in its original location for easy identification by those looking for it!
I spent 10 minutes looking for this with no luck. Noted that there may have been a fire through here since the last logged find, but thought I'd find a burnt up cache rather than nothing at all. Someone please convince me this one is still alive.
My futile search was overseen presumably to much amusement by the Grinning Cache Guardian - see pic.

2nd. time lucky.....came back on the MTB and found it straight away (now that I have a whopping 13 cache finds under my belt!!!)
What a great MTB area.....got into some single track and ventured out the back round the northern lop past the quarry. I've got to get a trail map

Found Casuarina Caches 1, 2, and 3. With mountain bikes we found Cache 1 quite easily and then followed GPS toward Cache 2. The unmarked trail we followed soon became unrideable and we ended up pushing our bikes along the path through gullies, over tree roots and up hills for a good 45 minutes before intersecting a nice graded road, only 100m away from Cache 2. With this in hand we followed the road to Cache 3 and then 5 minutes riding downhill at breakneck speed saw us back at the car. Moral to the story-follow signposted routes.

Was runningout of time [my excuse!] so didn't find it...will be back on my MTB for a longer look
After a big seafood luch on Mother's Day we both felt in need of a walk to work of those calories. So Euman_Oz's 2 new caches in Nerang State Forest seemed a perfect choice. We took geohound with us, although we weren't too sure if you are allowed dogs in the forest or not - but there were no signs to the contrary so along he came. As the description says you have to weave around the MTB tracks and we ended up climbing s steep hill and arriving at Casurina Three before Two! So we just did the circuit the opposite way to what we intended. Great walk - didn't know this area was so big. Well worth a look if you haven't been in here before.

FTF - I was delighted to find the log blank after just missing Herbz Bush King yesterday. This area is in my work backyard, another case of geocaching opening up your eyes to special places right under you nose. The walk through the Casuarina bush was very pleasant with great views of the coast from the ridges. Co-ords spot on, good hide. TNLN TFTC
