Biking past here I noticed one of the few caches I had down loaded at start of trip was here, so a wee walk was walked and log siigned.Cheers and thanks,S.t.
Found It!!!My first cache. Almost turned round but found the hidden post that blended in.
We did a walk in this region, looked at every base of post but we haven't be successfull (((
Was wondering if I wanted to venture any further as the ground dropped away, when I noticed the hint object right next to me. And there it was! All good here, TFTC.
Apologies to the CO.
I found this cache a while ago but have been very sporadic with caching for a while due to the pandemic, and this find was left as a draft on my app.

Alas I had a rather good event to attend yesterday, which left me with an odd day today. So I headed up to Upper Hutt to get my cache for the day. A multi, as today is also a multi dot-day. That down I headed down to Harcourt Park to collect some initial data for the earth cache there. It's a nice sunny day so I cycled across the bridge more for a look-see than anything else. And while doing that I cycled out this way. I have never been along this track before - I see there is a dam up there, but no caches. There must be some archived ones up there. Might have to go for a walk, see if they are still there. Any hoo, I saw this cache. A nice easy find at... well, what? The odd post out? Lots of cherries in blossom (photos).
For some odd reason the log was very wet - but it is also good quality RtR paper, so being wet was not a problem. Signed the log, then cycled back home to Lower Hutt, stopping at the earth cache sites along the way.

Found! After all this weather it is a wee bit damp so pencil best on this one. Will come back soon and give it a good wipe out! Nice wee path I have never noticed before - slippery when wet!!!
First cache in a very long time! Good to see that I still have a rough idea on what I'm doing!
Rain, rain, and yet more rain!
A bit of a soggy walk for me this lunchtime, although at least it was a quick find for me at GZ to allow me to get out of the rain as quickly as possible.
No issues here with the cache.
I would kindly suggest that the cache page needs updating. Firstly there is the factual correction required, as this cache is actually on the western side of the river, not the eastern.
And then it's probably time to lose the info about "Emergency Roadworks" as it's likely been over 10 years since those were completed. The description even references visiting a cache that was archived back in 2011
Thanks for bringing me here although I'm sure it's nicer on a better day

Couldn’t find the right path today - the one we found seemed very steep and slippery so decided not to risk it.
Touch confused about roadworks...
But found successfully after ouch was said once or twice

#9707. I needed to come up to Upper Hutt this morning and so decided to pick up a couple of caches while I was up here. Diverted into Totara Park and parked in a quiet road closest to the path. Wandered along to GZ. I was surprised the description said this one was on the eastern side of the river. It certainly seemed to be on the western side from my vantage point. Found the side track and soon had the cache in hand. Then heard voices and a family wandered down the same path. Chatted with them then took the cache with me and went for a short walk. After they had departed I returned and put the cache back where I found it. Thanks TheB0rg for hiding it here.
After a visit to Harcourt Park we took a small detour along the path on the other side of the river to find a cache that would earn the 'Goodbye 2020' souvenir. The bridge, when we spotted it, was not at all the sort of ridge I'd expected to see, in fact I was pretty sure there wasn't a bridge here. It left us wondering when it would get used, how it would get used, what it would be used for and when it was last used. It looks to be in good order anyway. Mrs B took a photo of the bridge while I negotiated the somewhat slippery path to get to GZ where I easily located the cache. Not surprisingly it had some water in the cache. Sadly it also had water inside the plastic bag that housed the log sheet and the log was too wet to attempt writing on. Undeterred by this I have added a new small plastic bag and sheet of waterproof paper with my log entry, which ought to keep the cache going for a while longer, given how rarely anybody seems to look for it nowadays. Then we headed back to the car.
Thanks for this conveniently located cache TheB0rg.
Incidentally you can see me in the bottom of the photo, searching for the cache. I am the object that looks like a rock. Camo'd as well as the cache was it would seem .

An interesting location. 8 and 6 year olds found easily. Forgot our pen/pencil so didn't write in log. Tftc
We cycled up from the horse paddocks then continued along Bridge Road. The first part is pretty steep then it is all down hill. The gate at the Birchville end is not made for cycles but we got around it.
Another ancient DNF resolved. The area leading to GZ has been cleared since my last visit, revealing a second hint object I'd missed before. An easy find this time

A beautiful autumnal riverside stroll brought me to this wee cache overlooking the water. Lots of walkers and cyclists out taking the air; school holidays.
The cache was nicely hidden away and is replaced as found. Wow, a Ziploc bag intact! Did they come like that?
TFTC, and for a great walk in westering sunshine, cheers.

(# 4876). Today I decided to get some caches around the Totara Park area. It was a nice day for a walk but I decided to go earlyish before the heat of the day. A quick find even though there was somebody sunbathing nearby. Luckily the GZ was just out of sight. A nice spot and was rewarded with a couple of kayakers paddling down the river. We exchanged waves as they went by. Everything in order. TFTC
We got to the first post and thought it was missing.... bush bashed a little further (btw... watch out for the bagged hanging dog poo [:(!] )and there it was tftc
A bit of bush bashing to get through some blackberry here. Luckily we used gps and not phone. tftc
On an unexpected trip south, unfortunately with muggle 81 yr old father!!! So my finds are far and few between, but many thanks for the placements!
Staying in the area and realised that I’ve been here before at the mega and have forgotten to log.
I am logging using the Cachly app template so please excuse generic logging along the way. It’s just my way of keeping track, but I do genuinely thank each and every one of you cache owners for taking the time and energy to place these cache. Many Thanks for bringing me here. Cheers.

Team BOP have descended upon the Wellington region for the 2018 WENZ MEGA. We have a lot of caches to get through so there isn’t a lot of down time but it's great to meet the locals, CO’s and fellow cachers. My online logs are largely cut’n’pasted because my memory has started to blur many of my finds together so apologies for that. We’ve signed logs as ‘TeamBOP’ or individually depending on log space and time. Lastly a big Thank You to the Team - TNXPro, Davidsonclan, McJandals, NZFlossy, FapandGap & Squirrel Nutcase and to all the CO’s that made this a memorable trip
It's finally Mega weekend!
Found while travelling with TeamBOP to the Mega event in Wellington.
Thanks for bringing me here.

Our this way with Gr33nSlime taking Mr DangerSAM for a walk on his DangerSCOTTER. As he's just learning to steer and push on it, it was a very long walk over a short distance. This gave us plenty of time to suss out the GZ and work our way down to the cache site. Not a sole around this afternoon, despite the fact the weather was fine and it seemed like the type of day that would be full of muggles. In the end i distracted DangerSAM with a stick he found while Gr33nslime went off to find the cache itself. Pretty easy in the end and a nice little off the track location. If you head further along the trail from the bridge then you can spot an old trail off the main one. This leads (rather abruptly) down to a deep water hole just below the cache site. Under heavy rain this must be a sight to see. But if you are like me and over shoot the actual cache site because you thought you would try using a cell phone GPS as opposed to an actually GPS, then you end up in spots with a steep climb and not a lot of rock lead below you. This cache is not the terrain five you are after. Thanks for the cache and giving us something to do while our boy took his time learning to ride his bike.
# 1082 We were out and about on a lovely sunny Saturday teaching the little DangerSAM to ride his balance bike. Out comes the cell phone and a search for a local cache to break up the trip. This was the closest one and so off we went onto the gravel track, which was a little interesting for DangerSAM on his bike - his previous trike wouldnt have managed. Finding the cache was left up to mum, and dad was left distracting the boy with a large stick (soon to be thrown into the river) Cache was found easily enough at a random spot with a view across to the otherside of the river. Log is very wet and only just managed to scratch our names in. Might be useful if the next finder takes a slip of paper to replace the sodden log. Thanks for the cache.
This the first time I've really stopped at Brown Owl and had a bit of an exploration. A reasonably pleasant walk to here on a very spring-like day. Nearing GZ I was confused by being seemingly pointed into a bush area with no track. I had a quick look at the logs to see if there were any reports of poor coords but saw none. But the recent DNFs did not bode well. I bush bashed my way in the general direction and eventually came across something unexpected. A check of the hint at this stage revealed I'd found what I was looking for. Sure enough, the cache was right there. A little damp but still signable. Not the most convenient location for a cache but still quite findable. TFTC!
I'd seen this one on the GPSr some months ago whilst caching on the other side of the river, selected it and got to within 16m of it to realise exactly where it was - and that I wasn't going to get it that day
Came back today with TregearP whilst on our way up the dam track to the saddle. An easy find, but watch out for the ample blackberry.
All in good order, TNLNSL, TFTC.

Crossed back over the river and headed north to grab this one. I thought I knew where the cache would be hiding from a distance, but as I got closer the arrow was pointing past. A trail through the grass led me to the correct GZ. A bit of blackberry and gorse but soon found the cache. TFTC
Out for an afternoon of geocaching in the Birchville Dam area in the cold and rain. Nice quick first find - also managed to find a bit of blackberry via my leg but not too much blood drawn. Note to self - must bring secateurs when caching !
Found while out with NZ1.
Area a bit overgrown and no clear track so trust your instincts (and be careful of the brambles).
Cache in good order. TFTC.

Good thing one of us had a phone with the updated coordinates! Glad to get this one off the unfound list! Walked a little further than the car to clock up 380m towards the DGSc Challenge. TFTC.

Definitely missing - Covered by 2m of debris after the new "temporary" road to Bridge Road went in. Will think of a new spot and reinstate...
Searched all over but like the other posters, can only think the road has swept this one away
Hi Borg.
Can you check to see whether this cache has been demolished by the emergency road construction please.
Cheers.

I guess this is buried under the new road now? Got to with 2m of the location and saw nothing but road.
TFTC. Used to walk this track when I was a kid, now taking my boy along it - so much has changed.
Fun find second cache of the day without a pen or pencil...make sure you bring your own thanks
Dad found this once before and helped me. I found a TB that i dropped off two months ago.
Found on second approach after reading past logs. Dropped off tb as good size container. Tftc .
We were pleased to make a straightforward find on this one (having just spent a very frustrating hour or so trying to locate WP 5 for Hutt River Confluence multi, with out any success ). Although we commented that the approach to GZ was best suited as caching for dwarves, but the hide was imminently obvious. Enjoyed the riverside stroll to get here. Good views on a very warm and pleasant autumn day.
Cache in order; log signed, safely re-hidden, just as found.
