Day 5 of team Seffnjarah and team Mickjor's trip to Adelaide and beyond. Today was an unplanned visit in Adelaide following a trip to hospital for one of our traveling companions after being involved in a serious road accident the day before. After being released the night before we all stayed in town overnight before heading back to camp in Corny Point.
I had spotted this novel cache in my pre trip research, so passing close by on our way back it would have been remiss not to stop and make the find. A local seemed to be manning the gate to the show ground for prospective campers, and was looking our way. He seemed completely bored so came over for a chat. No other option but to explain our situation. He had vaguely heard of this geocaching caper and was happy to let us continue our search while he left to grab a beer after a hot day. A very clean area today so no rubbish for us to collect today. TFTC.

A quick find by Mr Beetle on his early morning walk from our nearby free camp site. Thanks.
Finding the log and signing the logbook was the easy part. Finding a bag of rubbish in this exceptionally tidy and well maintained twon was the difficult part. There is certainly a great deal of civic pride in this community or many cachers passing through. Thank for the cache Freddo.
Found as a part of TheKellyGang, writing this as a genaric log as I was a part of TheKellyGang and am now out on my own.

Touring Australia having left Perth in late February we are leisurely touring Australia after having attended Oz Mega.
Today we toured from Maitland to Port Vincent then up and around Pearce Point to Chinamans Well then up to The Gap all in company with iluvtrekking.
What a majestic coastline we thoroughly enjoyed the places that Geocaching took us to today. We took way too many photos and will have to cull some! We had the warmest day we have had for a week with the temperature getting to 20degrees! [^] We started the day with gloves and 2 jumpers but ended it in shirt sleeves.
As we have been caching around the Yorke we have been collecting rubbish in our Keep Australia Beautiful WA bags! Photo attached.
Seems we actually signed the physical log of this yesterday thinking it was another cache. [:o)] Corrected the problem there today.

Out and about with FelixII exploring the Yorke Peninsula and practicing CITO as we went. Thanks Freddo.
Having an overnight stay at Maitland, this was only a hundred meters from the caravan.
So thought we would do the right thing & find a cache at the same time.
Thanks Freddo for the placing of this cache.

An early start to head north again and this was right near our camp so it was a must to drop in and clean up the area.
Not many muggles around and a bonus souvenir considering this is World Cito Day.
Thanks for the cache Freddo, a great idea and something that should be more common,

We have returned from Canada to discover a few more Australian caches! What a great way to explore the "land down under."
Quick find, also found some rubbish nearby so we picked it up.
Thanks for the fun Freddo!

Well I may have been 4 and a half years too late but I still found the cache! If only I had started caching 4 months earlier than I did, I could have been at the real deal all those years ago...

Out & about at Central Yorke Peninsular with RideTheGeoWalrus & Locus Cache.
The weather was perfect as I managed to get slightly sunburnt.
Really cool idea to keep the CITO going, and interesting that two caches being so close together.
Quickest event I've ever attended, cheers Freddo

With the promise of fantastic spring weather and a long weekend allowing for an extended caching trip, locus cache, clare007 and I made our way to the central region of the Yorke Peninsula with the aim of cleaning out as many caches as we could.
I don't think I've ever been to such a small 'event'! Just the three of us in locus cache, clare007 and I found and signed this hybrid cache. TFTC Freddo!

What a fantastic couple of days! [^]
Sunday and Monday I enjoyed the company of RideTheGeoWalrus and Clare007 as we cached in an area that I have not cached in before.....therefore I enjoyed what is now a rare concept for me......not having to dodge previously found caches in order to find a cache to locus cache on
We found dust, mud, caches, views, trees and lots of laughs as we drove around and exhausted ourselves doing 115 smileys with 9 DNFs (although we went back later and got finds on several of these DNFs) and one event attended...with only us three there It's always good to CITO!
With CO's permissions, we also did quite a bit of cache maintenance as many logs were full or wet or both and several containers were broken or missing.
If any CO whose cache we visited really wants their old log back, then email me and I will try and work out which old log it is and return it to you.
Now this was unusual...attending an event where there was only 3 of us in attendance!
Nice idea though and we did pick up some rubbbish throughout the days here.

I guess we log this one as an "attended" even though it's now a "found it". We did both just to be safe - attended the scene & found the cache. Though we're puzzled how two caches can live happily so close together.
South Australia 2013 with Sol de Lune. We headed off on 12/4 and arrived home on 28/4. The trip was to visit the SA series so more time could be spent at the Mega itself next year. We did a huge variety of caching around Murray Bridge, the Mid North, Yorke Peninsula and Whyalla Region. Apart from one wet night and two wet days we were able to spend heaps of time caching.
Today we were traveling on the Yorke Peninsula, the original destination for this trip. We spent the whole day and went from Kadina to Pt Victoria. We went via as many of the towns as possible along the way. Everyone has done a great job of placing a great variety of caches and we had a great day. This was a bit, odd, but I was happy for the extra cache type today.
Thanks.

Very cool that this one is still available as a cache. Very quiet here today. Thanks for the chance to log it......
Grabbed with Albida on our 2 week caching run from Canberra to, and around, different parts of South Australia including Loxton, Murray Bridge, Tailem Bend, Yorke Peninsula and around to Whyalla before heading home via Broken Hill, Cobar and Parkes. We completed a few power trails and left a couple to do when in the area again for next years Mega event.
Overall a great many different styles and types of caches found. A great time was had caching for 16 days straight as well as camping along the way.
Thanks for adding to the fun with this cache.

Ah, Freddo, i thought you were joking about the national public toilet map and it being the font of all wisdom. Now i can see you were deadly serious. My dream has come true - i can now browse toilets right around Australia!
I note that the icon on the web site for My Toilets is uncanny in its similarity to Astro's geocaching profile image. Given the map is the font of all wisdom, what is the icon telling me about Astro?

Woohoo! Our first CITO...sort of...well, we picked up some rubbish while we were here, I swear! I may have previously dropped it, but I took it away with me!
We found this cache as part of our family YP camping trip. Over the 12 days we saw some fantastic scenes and did a heap of cool stuff. This really is a beautiful slice of our country. To top off an already wonderful trip, we also found 145 caches, 6 trackables, 1 pathtag and attended 1 event.

Passed through here while having a day out caching on the Yorke Peninsula. Not much cleaning up left here. TFTC
At Yorke CFS field day this was just 100m from where we were set up. This cache would have helped in an event game of Bingo back in the USA recently.
A big Central YP day out with e.gregory1, EsromL and 3 CoC's. This was meant to be find #25 of 29
What a clean town Maitland is. Every town should have a permanent CITO cache.
Unfortunately we did not read the note about signing the log....

This was our 15th of 17 finds today - and we found it at around 14:28.
(So this is our 4289th total find.)
Thanks for leaving this one behind after the event. Almost missed it though, because the gps displayed the other nearby ache over the top.
Took: Nothing

Thanks Freddo for the hunt today.
PS: We've been dropping a bag of rubbish into various bins on the Yorke every day since we've been here.)

Attended on day 3 of are 3 week getaway, Picked up lots of rubbish from around our camp at the gap and placed it in the bin here.
One of the final caches for us on our way home from a relaxing week on the YP. It's not often we go, and we never collect as many caches as we'd like, however the kids always have a ball, so for us that's the main reason for going n the first place.
We can say that we collected rubbish from various places all over the Peninsula, and have attached a photo of the oldest completely saturated after she hopped in to collect a plastic bag from the sea.
Thanks for the cache.

I attended this CITO event after lunch with Mrs J in Maitland today. Cache was a nice quick find, with no-one around to disturb me.
While I didn't collect a bag of rubbish today, we have both been involved in Maitland clean-ups of one form or another, and are destined to in the future as well.
Mrs J works in Maitland, and she established a bit of a recycling drive in her office. I've even helped with this by taking their empty cans and bottles to the recycling depot in Kadina.
Previously, I have undertaken a yard clean-up contract for an elderly gentleman, who lives only a short distance from this cache. I removed a wheelie bin of cuttings and rubbish for him.
Today though, I did finally clean up our last un-found Ciril cache in town, BMX Bandits. So, to make Maitland look a bit "cleaner" in OziExplorer, I thought it only appropriate that I come and put our stamp in the logbook of this cache.
Thanks Freddo and SA_Parrothead.

The same as below, it feels weird to sign an attended log when the event wasnt even this year! The container was easy to discover - good because we had a wedding to attend across the road within half an hour! FTFC Freddo
Found on my way home after spending a few days relaxing on Yorke Peninsula. Very strange to log an "Attended" event with not a soul around. Thanks for the cache Freddo!
We felt good about logging into this CITO event as we had spent some of the previous day helping our friends clean up the foreshore in front of their shack at Chinamans Wells. A great idea for a permanent tidy up cache - another great thing that geocachers participate in! Thanks
Thanks to the clue this was a quick, easy find. Also found the area too tidy to tidy up today but did our bit for the Cache In Trash Out cause eaqrlier today at "Chukka" as unfortunately there was a lot of rubbish there. TYFTC
No problems doing this one on the way home from our YP caching holiday. Had a ball. Spectacular part of South Australia and LOTS of caches. Too many good ones to choose between to do. Will definitely have to come back to have another go at those this area has to offer. Like others, this area was too neat to clean up but did out bit at other cache sites that needed some help during the week. TYFTC Freddo
Was really keen to do this one and brought the rubbish bags with us all the way from Adelaide. On arrival found the area was pristine clean. Found the cache and logged and will collect rubbish at another cache location which isn't as well maintained. Have often helped with the "trash out" at various cache locations as we travel around. Seems the least we can do. Clue made this one very easy to find. TYFTC and for bringing us here. Tried a couple of nearby caches to this one but weren't as fortunate in finding and we have to head back to Adelaide tonight. Don't want to miss sharing the Royal Wedding with the Geo-Kids!

Am I right in assuming the cache is at the listed coords?
If so that puts it within 15m of the Maitland scouts cache?
I'm confused

YP Family Holiday Day 2 - Three Challenge Me team members and a muggle friend for this trip (CM2 - me; CM3 - niece, CM4 - daughter, M1).
This one had us stumped for a while... we read and re-read the logs several times to see if we were looking for an actual container. Then CM2 realised who had placed the cache and the hint made sense... cache in hand within seconds. We took some rubbish away with us too.
Thanks for the hunt. Good hide.

Found by Mary & David at 1210. We had some trouble collecting enough rubbish in the vicinity, so had to continue on for more. Sorry we weren't able to attend the Event, but at least we have your CITO cache for a consolation prize. Our thanks to Freddo and SA Parrothead.
Having found this cache we looked around for rubbish to collect. The only bit of rubbish was an empty rubbish bag on the other side of the street, so we captured that and took it with us to the next cache- which offered many more opportunities for filling the bag. Satisfactory filling of the bag proceeded so we feel happy about claiming this one. Thanks Moses for offering your bin at home as a final resting home.Took rubbish, L sheeptag.
Found on an enjoyable sunny winters day with IRAC- and Jeremiah Bullfrog. Did a major clean up around the Farmer Skool cache. Filled a large bag which went home into my rubbish bin. Farmer sckool is much cleaner but we could not find it. Thanks

I have twice missed out on scoring a CITO so was keen to get this one. I had been steadily collecting rubbish as I cached, and once at GZ had a pretty good idea of the hide and so it turned out. If all goes well there will be a photo with this log. Thanks to Freddo and SA_Parrothead for the cache.

this is an interesting one to me as a beginner I find that collecting rubbish to claim this cache may not be easy to prove but the concept is admirable and just what the area it is situated near needs constantly. tnln.
Claiming this as a traditional cache - but collected and binned a bag of rubbish -( would have been quicker and easier if we had been in my car!).
Was thinking about a DNF when spotted from a more distant angle

Can the status of this be moved now it is a permanent cache???? Rocky Glen Grommets were the first to sign the NEW cache book - does this score us a GOLD? We had actually planned to place a cache here as well but we were going to call it BE PREPARED - anyhow, be prepared to get down and dirty! Be Prepared to have a little Grom with you, Be Prepared to have lots of fun! Anyhow, we signed the log, left behind a silver gem and logged the find (as a note) and, we left behind some trash in the nearby bins as well!
This CITO cache is now set up as a permanent cache. A container and logbook has been placed at GZ. Please collect a bag of rubbish as well. Bins are available nearby.

Not alot of rubbish to start with, and now there's even less. Glad to do our bit.
We came, we saw, we put it in a bag... now it's up to Maitland to win the next tidy town award...
We still managed to collected a couple of bags full of rubbish on the Saturday and Sunday despite the early finish
Wasnt too much rubbish out there to collect! But we did bring back a bag - mostly filled with rubbish from our 'caching snacks'!!!
There wasnt a lot of rubbish out there, but still managed to find enough for a bag. Cheers. MODU.
Although pulling out of the event early we still collected a couple of bags full of rubbish on the Saturday and Sunday, Oh!!! and a heap of mud
Our first involvement in this type of event & were surprised with what we found.
Rubbish... rubbish rubbish. Surprisingly YP was cleaner than some of the previous events, but we still collected a bag ful.
Hopefully between us we made an impact and helped to keep South Australia beautiful.
Our rubbish bag and some collected rubbish turned out be very useful for protecting the car floor against mud collected from a *slightly* boggy road!
