Logs
Today was a rare treat as the youngest of the Famous IV who hasnt been out caching for a couple of years suggested that it would be good to go for a country drive and grab a few caches along the way. Sought 13 and found 11. Unfortunately the last cache sought involved a scurry up a quarry face and despite a good luck was not found. However found plenty of kangaroos, bird life, livestock and one sleepy lizard along the way. Even had some time to call into the One Tree Hill pub for a couple of dark ales, pepperoni pizza and garlic bread. Some great caches found and 3 FPs will be awarded. Thanks to all cache owners for your hides and ongoing maintenance of your caches.
Easy find, though its logged with water and an exploded hand sanitiser bottle
Found a bit off trail, be careful of the edge. Be careful of snakes in warmer weather but a nice view of kangaroos nearby. BYO Pen, room for swaps. TFTC!
Easy to find at the location. The log book is soaked through and needs replacing. Thanks for the cache, the location is beautiful!
Hiking around the Anstey Hill recreation Park, looking for pieces of paper to sign. Im about as far away as I can possibly get from where I started, so we need to start heading back to my ride. But no problems finding this one, and the views are amazing.
TFTC! Still very wet but a nice sunny day. Got spotted by family of 6 Skippy muggles nearby.
Found on a lovely walk for mother's day. Needs maintenance as it wasn't closed and is all wet
This afternoon I had a few hours spare so decided to head up to anstey hill to collect a few caches, parked up and made my way up the hill to this cache, wow big old tree. After a lap of it the cache was found nicely tucked away and is all good
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache
Thanks for the cache, we took a slap bracelet and left a reef bangle bracelet
A pleasant walk from the car and after a short search the cache was found.
Nice views despite the clouds.

Wow, it really is looking in all directions! Also the view is amazing - thanks for the motivation
Today, jesswrigley and I started the day with West Beach parkrun and a breakfast nearby. A few morning errands were had whilst making a few geocaching stops, and then in the afternoon, I headed to Anstey Hill Recreation Park for a loop in the Gun Emplacement / geological hike section and surrounds. It was incredibly hot and not a lot of shade, and there was still kangaroos and other wildlife around.
There were a few kangaroos around here and the trees, probably trying to seek refuge within the shade. I exited off the track too early, and needed to walk through the dead grass until reaching GZ. I then made a quick find of the nicely themed container. The cache container and logbook were in good shape. I felt like the terrain rating was a tad too low with this cache, but perhaps it was just today’s hot weather to why I thought it should have been higher. Thanks TiedyeSmileys for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.

Thanks for the cache TiedyeSmileys. I was on my way to Gumeracha today and collected a few on the way, this was one of them. I parked and walked back to grab this one. I was circumnavigating the tree when I frightened a kangaroo resting in the shade. I suspect he was being the cache guardian. Logged signed and returned to its hiding place. The grass here is very tall at the moment, did not see any snakes thankfully.
A lovely spot even on a cold winters night.
Dropped trackable "BMO" to start his journey with Nukky13

Another great cache from the TieDyeSmileys, thanks for this. Who owns this land. From here the view includes the Spur Track on the south side of the entrance to The Gorge, the top of which also has interesting view back into the hills. Hard climb though! TFTC.
I got an early start this morning to beat the heat. I went for a short hike to grab a couple of caches.
Thanks for the cache.

I spent more time trying to find a suitable park to be able to get to this one than it took to actually get to it on foot lol
A park below / West of it was found and I slogged it out uphill to this one's awesome location. A quick find was made and I was signing the log in a bit of a hurry coz there was a huge rain shower headed for my location so i had to be out of there asap [:o]
Added some moisture munchers to the cache and log bag as to keep things dry within [^] SL at 10:27 on the blustery, wet Sunday 29 July 2018.
Slipped on my butt coming down after finding this one ha ha [:o)] Nice pic of rain in the west was taken prior to that

Today was another day full of caching and being social with a few events up around Anstey Hill, and with a potential FTF on offer Laighside Legands and myself headed off early in search of it. Arriving at gz, there was no one in sight and the cache was soon spotted and in hand not long later and our luck was with us as an empty log book was extracted. With the log signed and some time still to kill before the first event started we decided to head of for a few nearby finds, which proved no problem at all. After enjoying some delicious pie at the first event Laighside and myself set off to start caching in Anstey hill, specifically looking at a few of the puzzle finals that we had there. It was a great day for caching, the sun was out and shining and there were plenty of caches to be found. After a few hours it was finally time to head down the hill to the next event, and thankfully there was a cache nearby too. It was this cache that Mr Tardis happened to find in the first place he looked, that place happened to be my hands as I had found it a few seconds before he arrived. After more socialising we headed on our way again to keep finding caches, though as the day wore on the steep slopes of some of the tracks started to take its toll and my legs started to tire. I pushed on however, as the hours passed it was time to finally head back across Adelaide for the final event for the evening. By this time of the evening I was rather hungry and in need of a beer, which was quickly ordered. It was a relaxed end to what was a very enjoyable caching weekend and a good time was had by all.

Plan A: Go and pick up Mrs. Sewer Rat and head to the Owlery to meet Doctor Owl and AnyMules. Grab an outstanding BFE before heading up to Anstey Hill for a wander and collect the last two BFE, (watch Mrs. Sewer Rat do her ReelBFENirvana happy dance) and a few other caches. Perhaps even add a few way-points to some already started multi-caches there. Plan A lasted until we got to the Owlery and the phone went BING. New cache. Beaumont.
Now on Plan C we were once again making our way towards Anstey Hill. [^]
Finally we are on the Hill. The actual Hill. After making a reasonably quick find we retreated to a nice shady spot for a picnic lunch. Doesn't get much better than this. [^]
Thanks TiedyeSmileys for the cache. Spectacular views!

Mrs Rat needed some caching therapy.
She also only needed 2 caches to get back to true Bob nirvana.
So brisal5 arranged to pick up the Rat and collect Doctor Owl and Anymules.
We stopped to check the views, then went in search of the cache.
When Anymules said let's sign this one.
We then went and sat in the shade and have lunch before continuing on our mission. TFTC
Great views. And also great to see an original 2009 log book.
Thanks for the cache TiedyeSmileys. Found on 2 Oct 2017 at 12:43 pm. Find #5180.

Unfortunately the mist stopped us being able to see the view this morning but we enjoyed the walk up to the cache. Great to explore the area a bit more, thanks for the hunt today
A bumpy set of wheel ruts through the reserve,
took me away from the main road to reach this cache
At the ex-gate,
I found that another trail ran all the way to the top of Anstey Hill for 360 °: views
Oh !! And I found the cache nearby
Amazing how good a grip that tree had on the bedrock isn't it ??
TFTC and views !!

Easy find great views. Never been to this side of the park before glad the geocache brought us here!
Out for a quick run with Sebastbat on my fourth anniversary of my first cache find!
Found a park with a short walk up to the view and off we went. Through the long grass...oh, there's a safer way!
Cache was soon in hand and despite being very windy we paused and enjoyed the views.

It was a beautiful day and I thought it was about time I had a wander around Anstey Hill Rec Park. So I think that I took possibly the most round about way to get to this cache, considering I came up from Water Gully Track through some unmarked gully and wandered around to this one. Saw an echidna at GZ which topped off a pretty awesome day.. TFTC..
I have often wondered what the views were like from here. Now I know. B& I drive past here on a regular basis and I have always speculated on building a house there. Quick find on the way home. TFTC tnlnsl.
A nice find after work and great weather to catch an awesome sunset :c) picked up angry bird TB to continue his travels. TFTC!!
Spectacular views over the city this morning.

After spending an hour going over every tree/stump/rock in a 50 mtr radius 3 times, i had come to the conclusion the GPS was telling lies. Couldn't see anywhere else it could be hidden. Ah well - I will be back!
I used a big stick to bash the path in front of me. Skippy Skippy Skippy kept ringing in my head. Brilliant spot and a slightly cool breeze evaporated the sweat from the brow. Sweet.
Clear skies to TiedyeSmileys from TeamAstro.
The kids and I ventured out here today after dinner. We wanted to catch the sunset over the city. Took almost no time to find the cache, cute little thing, wish we had some swag with us to leave something. Spotted a mob of kangaroos on the way back. Had a great time. TFTC
Do you ever get that feeling that you are being watched? Well, I was getting that all the time I was signing the log! Strange! It disappeared as soon as I rehid the cache?! A quick find with great views on a lovely cool, sunny morning on Anstey Hill. Thanks TieDyeSmileys
Glorious day, stupendous view. Found in the second structure we searched. Wouldn't want to do this much later in the season. Grass thick and will get quite long soon. Left a smiley badge. Thanx
We've driven passed this one a few times, but never stopped for it. Today we decided we wouldn't mind a short walk, even though it was freezing. Found a place to park about 400m away and the gate was wide open as there were people working down at the water tanks. Although it seemed that we could sneak the car in and drive almost right up to GZ, we didn't want to risk being accidentally locked in or spotted.
A fairly quick and fun find once at GZ. Took the TB to travel on to Mt Barker. TFTC
