Unfortunately couldn't get a location with the GPS but I did get swarmed by biting bugs so I gave up. Nice view
Oh my goodness, I didn't realise I hadn't logged this one found over the holidays while doing the ad lab plus little caches we'd missed. Quick and easy, sent the kids looking for it. Tftc
Last few caches before I leave whangarei after being away for the week.
Made my way over to gz and after looking at the hint moved over to find the cache.
Found a decoy container which was too cute, so moved it to a more fitting location nearer the cache. Suspect it was swag from the original container?
Well I was on my way out of the bushes to see a police car parked just up the road, now I am not saying they stopped for me, but it's been awhile since my last police encounter whilst caching.
Well they must have decided nothing to see here, with me walking out into the sunlight holding my phone. They drove off around the corner to the mint.
A few minutes later I joined them and there we're 3 police cars with their dogs
Looks like this is where they were stopping for the dogs to get a bit of exercise and fun.
Thanks FMZ for the history of the location and the hide

A quick grab whilst completing the new ROAR Adventure lab. Saw a checky container which threw me off at first
Got a few scratches and had given up looking and was walking back to the car when I spotted the cache on the ground. Have replaced using the hint and my caching sense, somewhere I thought it could have been. (Have messaged CO, incase its not quite in the right place) TFTC
Great spot for a cache! The track in is quite obvious now but we came form the wrong angle!
Took something, added something!
Wear covered shoes because there’s gorse and prickly trees

Such a big building and seems quite secretive! Had a walk along the wall and found the cache in good condition. Signed log, took nothing, left nothing. Thank you!
I have always wondered what that building was used for. Walking along the cycle path and decided a quick walk up the hill to grab this one. Niceveash find thanks for the cache
I'm glad this one didn't end up being just a mint tin. I saw all the three hints separately before I found a convergence and the cache. TFTC
And, many thanks to the occupants of the building for sponsoring the Geo Tour.

* 20 years since New Zealand had the very first geocache hidden outside of USA.
* And it's 2020 - all the 20s!
Talk to your geo-friends and start planning to be part of [this event](http://nzmega.com) - you won't want to miss it!

Up from Wellington and spending some time in Whangarei this morning to collect a few caches, this was one. A quick find here, all safe and dry. TFTC
Northland Day 5: Last day in Northland before heading back to Auckland. Started off on a foggy morning in Whangarei to pick up some of the Onerahi caches, before slowly working my way to town and heading south to Auckland through the Bream Bay Beaches. Lovely weather today, and a great finale to the Northland trip!
The following is the specific log for each cache:
Cache was quickly picked up along the way to Whangarei town. A little bit of a scramble here to the cache, but once there, the little box was quickly spotted and signed. Interesting location, TFTC!

Thanks for the history here FMZ!
Watch out for very spikey trees ....and the fresh cow pat!

I even climbed up the rock wall... if anybody has some tips for this one, messages are welcome!
Working and staying in Whangarei for a few weeks. Taking the opportunity on a break to find this one. Was a bit of a mission in heels but got there in the end! Beautiful Winters’s day in North. TFTC
What a minter of a view from this location. Quickly had the cache in hand while Miss DB sat in the sun and waited. TFTC.
Out on the bike for some night time caching along here. Pushed the bike up the hill until the GPS on my handlebars said to stop. Quick find here, cheers
Easy find only if I had come in from the correct angle! Know this area well as I lived here for many years back in the day. Thanks for the placement funkymonkeyzone
Have been meaning to get this one for a while...today was good as the weather had abated and allow for a free search...evading to odd gorse bush I soon had the log signed and returned .thanks funkymonkeyzone...a great view over the industrial area
I was working very close to GZ for the last few days, and got to see inside some of the nearby building. Found the cache on my last day, before getting a ride back to Auckland. I would have been flying but my flights had been cancelled
We walked up the hill and were rewarded with great views back to Whangarei. Found the cache in good condition. Stopped for a quick snack before heading back down the hill and along the cycle trail.
Stopped here to try for a quick extra find on my way home from Mt Aubrey tonight. Starting to get a bit dark in the evening and with no torch, amost missed it. Heaps of rabbits around though...!! TFTC
Collecting some of Whangarei urban caches today as I head back down the line tomorrow. Scrambled up the bank and quickly located the cache. Didn't realise the old money factory had been turned Ito a ministry of education facility. TFTC
An interesting spot I had never heard of before. Found OK but I had to check a number of places.

Decided to stop in and grab this one on our way into town. Always love the view of the harbour from the old money factory. Nice easy find and thanks for the trackable. Will log as found once I get to my PC.
Dropped off Travel bug. We took this friendly little guy all the way to OZ with us, only to find all the local Caches where too small. So he is well traveled.
Dropped a traceable. Nice peaceful spot with great views. No muggles around. TFTC
Pleased to pick this up today. Have driven past it a few times and was even here on a course earlier in the year to learn about educating deaf and hearing impaired children - a very useful course. I was also remember when this facility was "The Mint". Cache was a quick find with good clues - followed the geocachers trail, TFTC
I too was surprised FMZ had a cache this far north, no, maybe I'm not, he has one on top of Mnt Tongariro too. Regardless of that, the cache is in a nice spot, with a view to boot. Never knew about the minting of money taking place here.
Had planned to go for the Wai Night cache but is wasn't really dark enough so on the way back to Onerahi I thought I could get away with trying to add some more smiles to my map even with the whole family aboard, and I did. GAR drove up here convinced by the description of the cache that it was OK to drive up what he thought was now private property. Found quickly and replaced as placed by Vistra. Thanks funkymunkyzone - surprised to find you are the owener as I am more familiar with seeing your name on caches around Auckland!
I'm back up in Whangarei for Xmas and I went for a bit of a drive around today picking up a few caches. Soon found the cache on the ground, so after signing the log, popped it back where it looked like it came from. I remember when this facility was still operating as the 'Money Factory'! TFTC!
Today we spent a full day of caching in the Whangarie area followed by a bit of sight seeing.
The caches we found today were all in great areas with wonderfull views of the harbour.
Thanks for placing this cache funkymunkyzone
Nice quick find on the way home. Very clear geotrail that can be seen from the car. TFTC.
Nice quiet road that we would never have known about or the history behind it. Thanks.
Found as part of my Post Mega northen road trip. Really enjoyed a part of the country I hadn't seen before. Thanks to all those who have placed cacahes to encourage us southerners to come your way!
Found with renelm and Difool, logged as RAD to save log space, time and trees.
I am not much of a logwriter, so see renelms, and possibly Difools, log for details.
TFTC!

#6200. Good idea to mark the former mint location with a cache. Good to be able to turn on to a quiet side road. TFTC.
The road didn't show on our maps or GPSr so was pleased to make this cache a drive-by! Interesting info - wondered how the cache got its name. TFTC.
Weren't quite sure where to go to look for this, but got to the right spot in the end. Signed log and enjoyed the sunshine in that sheltered spot. Interesting to learn about the mint being here once. Left a TB to be moved on, thanks for the cache.
Nice to find a cache up here that is not a micro or nano, collected after work, in the dark after a long day, some interesting history around this area

Found whilst out with my cousins children on their first caching experience. - SL dipped trackable, replaced where found T4TC
Sort of in the area to pick up some puzzle caches and thought it would be rude not to stop and find this one. Didn't notice the log about the wasps but didn't encounter any problems. Thanks for the cache.
As usual for me, just charge straight in. Wasps, what wasps? Actually didnt see anything that looked even remotely waspy, so no worries. thanks.
Not really anything I can do about a wasps nest.
Please be very careful approaching this cache to avoid any wasp nest, as you would for any other cache where there might be wasps nearby.

After being the only DNF a cojuple of years ago (it was replaced after that) back inthe area today.
No problems this time.

I'm in Whangarei for a few days of orienteering, caching and sightseeing. Refreshing to find a cache not by Riser5. Thanks for bringing me to the mint, a curious piece of NZ history. Nice to see that Northland education is so secure. It was an enormous complex to print money and postage stamps. Today, someone could do it in their home garage.
Straight up the geotrail and the cache was in hand. A good location with an interesting past and nice views. TFTC
Quick find in the rain, no muggles until heading back to the car and then suddenly muggles in abundance! Dropped our new GC to start its holiday adventure!
