Found a skink but no cache. Glad to see the wildlife survived the fire at least.

There is a road block at the entrance to the village staffed by Civil Defence following the extensive fire damage. It looks possible to access the cache site in other ways, but they clearly don't want unnecessary visitors, so I didn't attempt to find it.
Found this 1/10/20 while using Ohau village as a base for riding sections of the a2o trail. This was the first time I used my phone as a gpsr, accurately led me to gz but was unable to log the find at the time. Now back home and playing catchup! Given the horrendous fire that swept this beautiful spot I may well be the last to find this one.
Round the world trip Made it to New Zealand and will be traveling all around the Islands. Leaving Twizel today. Next destination: Lake Tekapo. Made a short visit to this lake. First find today.
Thanks for bringing up this cache!

A couple of days ago we picked up a geocoin that wants to go to GC1533H On top of the world. Well, there is no way we can go all the way up there summer or winter, but we placed it in this cache in case someone else can go up there. It is not far from here. Mind you, that cache has not been done since New Year's Day 2017 so it might have a bit of a wait for a lift up the hill. Hope whoever takes it up doesn't leave it there. Otherwise, it may be lost forever. The cache was an easy find once we figured out which was the front. What a great view!
My first cache in NZ. Doing the A20 cycle trail. What a magnificent spot! Thanks for bringing me here!
GREAT view but I gave up on the cache. Really frustrating when I have to give up. GPS all over the place.
We found a number of caches on this trip - thanks to all the hiders for there hides. Trying to get these all logged.

A very peaceful spot here today. Quick find but not really where I was expecting it to be. TFTC # 12,547
A bit wet today, so onto plan C biking and driving. A nice quick find. The views from the cache were moody, plenty of clouds around. Cheers.
KiwiLegend was looking for a partner in crime to find a few caches around Omarama, so I volunteered to join in on the adventure. Had a great weekend, some biking, some canoeing, some FTF, some lonely and a very lonely cache. Thanks KL
Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

On the A2O and staying in Lake Ohau Village. Out for a stroll to find a geocache or two with interested parties. Stunning view. TFTC
Touring around the area looking for caches. Although it was a lovely morning, by the time we arrived here the winds were increasing and it had cooled down considerably.
TFTC!

Camping at Lake Middleton and after pre dinner snacks several of us went on a walk with me leading them in this direction. All in good order. Left a trackable. Lots of new construction going on for such a small place.
This made a great spot for a break. We had a thermos and snacks with us and the spot provided a lovely table in the sun with great views. We took a few photos as well as finding the cache and having a coffee/tea.
Thanks.
Thanks.
Found it and left an earring we found on a hike on a mountain near Wanaka and took the rubber duck. This is so fun!! #BelieveAndAchieve
Amazing view while staying in the alpine village. Pen dried up though. My log is more of an indention then pen! Cache dry though
It's a lazy day for me today and after sleeping in, I step in the car to go to Lake Ohau. On the other side of the road there's a bunch of people building a house, a big truck is on the middle of the street. I park my car, see that one of the parked cars has it's rear window open and a dog is carefully following what I'm doing. But luckily it's stays put and quiet, so I can find this cache. Without being seen; thanks to the truck. Thanks for hiding!
TFTC which is placed close to a picnic table dedicated to the memory of a wonderful woman - Eileen - who I first meet as a young child. I'm proud that she was happy to be a chosen aunt to me. Visitors should to this cache should take the time to sit at her table and contemplate the view Eileen loved. Thanks for maintaining this cache at this important spot, nicpop.
Found with MrandMrsChosen1978 on our road trip up the side of the lake. Nice little village.
Found by mrandmrschosen1978, with Granville86a, while on a road trip over Waitangi Weekend. We started off traveling through Central Otago and on up to the McKenzie Basin exploring Lake Ohau to Mt Cook one day, then we spent another day by heading down the Waitati Valley before heading back down south. As we explored these areas we found this cache along the way. Thank you for the placement, was a lovely view on a windy day
Back up at the lake to finally tidy up all the caches I had missed . Great place for lunch in a howling gale . Sent the boys off to find it while sorting out food quick find tftc
Beautiful view from here. TFTC. Tourists turned up so had to take their photo before I could carry on the search. Internet was a bit dodgy too.
Fefe.adrien and I went to the lake Ohau for visiting. Despite some showers we enjoyed the view on the lake and mountains around.
So quiet in winter...
Easy found for all boxes.
We signed on the logbook with our team name : Lekiprokos

Found on an Easter drive in the area. Fantastic view, so stopped a little longer to have lunch. TFTC.
Heading to the Temple for some tramping but had to stop for a cache or two on our way. Took TB. Found with debsnz
There certainly are great views from here, and a handily placed seat found with Aoraki Sheep.
A short walk from our Ohau accommodation. We had a group of four hunting for this one & it took us a few minutes to find it - long arms won out in the end. Fantastic view here, we have really enjoyed doing the caches around Lake Ohau. TFTC.
Took a quick walk to pick this up and drop Mr Tiki off. Hopefully someone will be able to better serve his goal than I.
This was the motivation to get out on a beautiful evening walk, staying just a few feet from this cache. Fantastic views.
Thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found today around Omarama and on the way to Clearburn, Ohau & Lake Ohau, Twizel and Mount Cook Village. Tonight we can rest at the foot of the impressive Mount Cook ... what an experience!
TFTC and greetings from Belgium.

Found after arriving at Lake Ohau village for a week of tramping with friends. Took a pleasant, short evening walk to find this one. Circled the hint object wondering which side was the "front". Found on a second more careful circuit. Great views from here, thanks Bitsprayer.
Mallorcatommy and I were on our journey through the southern island of New Zealand. With the help of geocaches we came to so many beautiful places, saw breath-taking landscapes and had, all in all a very wonderful journey! Thank you to all owners for placing all those nice geocaches!
We are on the road again!
Today we found some very nice geocaches and enjoyed it to walk along every single trail.
Thanks to to all the owner for hiding the caches!

12.00: On the way to Lake Ohau and beyond. Beautiful lookout at the edge of the village. Quick and undisturbed find, it seems that there are no so many inhabitants around in the early summer.
Weather: overcast, windy, 10°C;
Wheelchair: on the road only, close enough to view;
State: all good.
IN & OUT: nothing.
Thank you for showing Lake Ohau Village!

A quick find after a few hours kayaking on Lake Middleton. It was a race to find it, and Miss Adventure (7) would like it known that she won! Lovely view, but a bit windy! TFTC.
