M26: we looked in the wrong magnetic place, spread our search and saw something that looks like a cache, there it is. Log all good here. TFTC.
Out and about in Takapuna today. Perfect temperature for geocaching, not too hot, not too cold, just right. Another magnetic cache that fooled me at first. But then I read previous logs, and one log especially pushed me into the right direction and all of a sudden the cache came into my field of view. Blends in well. Thanks for hiding and maintaining, Tftc
It's a long weekend so I came down to Auckland from the Far North for a few days geocaching. Friday I cached in Albany picking up lots of new TWS caches. Yesterday I headed down to Huntly collecting mostly AdLabs. Living where I do getting some higher numbers is a bit tricky so it was good to achieve that. Today I was after an ftf for my dot day calendar and wanted to finish off this area. I'd originally decided to park around the block for this one but with the traffic building up I decided to just walk a bit further. After reading other logs I just decided to go onto the property for a quick find. Thanks for your cache
1276 for the tribeG'day from across the ditch! The tribe are on a caching adventure in Auckland for a few days targetting our DT grid, our Jasmer grid, some very old caches and some very favourited caches, and of course enjoying the amazing natural beauty ofNew Zealand Previous logs were very useful here. I would add that the place seems to be a museum rather than somebody's residence and therefore going on the property to find the cache isn't as big a deal as it seems to be.This one fills a hole in our Jasmer grid. A big thank you to the CO for placing and maintaining this cache.
3 of 4 to get today's achievement, found this almost instantly thank goodness as i must have looked like a crazy man at 9.30pm
Another one of those finds that would have been much easier if we'd stopped to think a bit more before we started tearing our hair out. Thankfully, once we reached that point of desperation and took a sec, the cache was quickly in hand. TFTC!
In Takapuna for workplace training at the moment so naturally grabbing a few caches around the area.
I popped by here last night and had a good search around. Found some areas which I searched quite thoroughly but still left empty handed.
I messaged the CO to see if the area I was searching was correct, and after a nudge I returned tonight and the cache was a quick find.
Thanks for the quick reply to my message, and for the cache.

Interesting story. We first found a sistema box near ground zero which we thought was the cache. Then we read earlier logs and understood some information about the placement. Then it was an easy find. Thank you for the cache!
Out on a caching night out with NZ Travellers as both mini-cachers are away at camp .
Almost got fooled here. NZT had previously found this one but we looked at the obvious spot along the fenceline but nothing we could see. I read the description and we were almost ready to leave (thinking I had to return with an 'ahem') when I thought....I wonder if we have to be in a slightly different spot but same original search item.
Of course that was much more logical and the cache was soon in hand. Well it was in hand after Mr NZT got the fright of his life by a little friendly cat....think he has PTSD from a possum incident a little while ago!!
Thanks for the cache - fav point for the fun at this one!

While you could access this one from
The street it would be a bit of blind luck to reach it. Once inside the property & looking at the placement it was a quick find.

Had some spare time in Takapuna today so decided to go for a walk and collect some caches. After reading some of the previous logs I enter the property and soon had the cache located. I also upset the resident ants while signing the log. TFTC
Finally worked this one out through reading previous logs. Ants were pleased to see me - I think
Cool hide! Was ant infested which led lil miss to drop it and didn't end up signing the log Co-ords off, no need to go into the property to get it
Another evening of treating Daddypig123 to some after dark adventures. We had looked for this earlier in the year but were confused by various logs, but a recent log saying it was easiest to access from in the garden gave me a push to come and grab it.
Whilst Daddypig123 was parking the car, I came straight to the cache. A bit of trouble getting it open, but when I did it was full of water AND ants. I screamed (silently) and dropped everything. Managed to pick up the log and sign it, and then heard the sound of footsteps approaching, and the unmistakable sound of the geohound launching himself through the gate at me. Managed to get all the bits back together and hidden back where they should be. I might have brought a couple of ants home with me, though.

As a recent pre-finder I thought I'd check this one whilst passing this morning.
Yep, still in place. Easier access from inside the property garden.

*** Retrospectively logging finds now Lock-down has spoiled my plan for improving finds to become 10+ find days. ***
An easy find here once I went onto the property and inspected the rear of the attractive tall item. All good here.
When I first started working over on the North Shore, initially for 3 months, then out to 6 months, I identified this target-rich environment as being what would enable me to upgrade my finds per day from single-figure find days (there were about 20 days of 5 or more). I went out over a range of dates and physically made the find, signed the log, and noted the date on my personal note. These were reserved for finds when required, or back-dated finds if not 'required'. I'd been tracking well and improved all days desired until this week when Lock-down meant the end of finding caches and thus the 5-day on 20 Aug will be missed, as will a few others coming up, I suspect.

Coordinations out but eventually found after a bit of light reading.
Thank you to G-2 once again
Thank you to G-2 once again
Came back for a second look. Felt a bit weird but managed to find it. Co-ords were way off but a comment led me to it. TFTC
I’m with liljap, it did seem rather spooky. Good to see the place up a bit closer. Searched around for something that would fit the hint, and there she was. Tftc
Don’t know why but found this place quite spooky. Lots of ghosts I guess. Like many I have passed by here many times but have never stopped to takes look. Thanks for bringing me here. Tftc
Found with billxp uncomfortable caching right infront of house still found cache though TFTC
Wasn’t as difficult as we thought thanks to the hint. Can remember seeing him walking around Takapuna when we were young. Thanks
Like many others I had to reread logs and descriptions to make sure I was allowed. Thanks for showing me this piece of history.
day in Takapuna: headed up to Takapuna today after helping my Father with some errands this morning. Spent the day walking from Akoranga to Milford via Takapuna Beach, and experienced some really good caches, especially since this appears to be G-2’s playground. Nice views and good fun all round, so a productive day it was.
The specific log for each cache is as follows:
Interesting little place. I actually entered the property and made two rounds of the premises before reading the log and finding out that the cache is outside. Looked at a suspicious spot, but couldn’t see anything, so went in again, and spotted what I wanted to see. Signed the log and moved on. Thanks for showing this interesting building. TFTC!

22440 Traveling through New Zealand to see nice people and places. Also to find some geocaches.
Today we were went from Auckland to Paihia. On several spots we stopped to find some caches and to enjoy the lookout views. All day was sunny,so we also made a walk in Puhoi to get the caches along the path to the mountain view. Also the GB1 caches were very popular because you can park safely for them. At some Parkings there were many muggles, but they had no interest in us. they took many pictures.
Most caches were found quite quickly. A few took more time. Several were with waterproof paper, but our stamp and pen do not work that good on such paper, where when it was wet paper it logs fantastic.
G_2 TFTC and the fun it brought us. Theo

Found after a too long search because the Co ords are out by at least eight yards Tb visit TFTC
Having noticed the grounds here had recently had some TLC, decided it was time to return to turn this into a smilie. Having noticed previous logs mentions of coords being slightly off, along with a friendly nudge from another, it was a quick find today and suitably quiet to complete the admin before the rains came TFTC
Started by looking on the wrong side and wanted to give up as there was just too much traffic coming past but on second thoughts we decided to see if we could just quickly go onto the property and see if this made our search any easier. We were getting a bit worried after a little while about being in someones garden as it wasnt till after that we noted other logs saying that this house was actually empty.found the cache and signed the log.even had one of the bunnies come to say hello.
I've driven past this many times and never had the chance to stop as it is on a very busy road. We were determined to get it today and parked around the corner and walked across to take a look. It was great to see this as it almost feels like I've visited before having read CK Stead's All Visitors Ashore which I believe is set at the location and features, as well as Stead, fictonalised versions of Frank Sargeson and Janet Frame. Frame wrote her novel Owls Do Cry while living here.
The place is much changed in the sixty years since that novel was published but it's great to have a little look at New Zealand publishing history, and of course find the cache. Found at the most obvious location for a cache matching the hint and didn't take long to find. All good here and thanks for the cache.

We decided to take a stroll through Devonport and find a few caches to fill in a moody Sunday afternoon. Between a few showers we found some great caches and a few hidden reserves that we would never have come across if not for caching. Luckily with the inclement weather there weren't many muggles around to disturb our geocaching efforts. Gorgeous views from several vantage points today, many thanks for bringing us here.
It was dark and raining now, but MrNZT wanted just one more find. Parked just around the corner and he headed back to GZ and made a quick find. TFTC!

Struggled here today...grounds overgrown and didn't have success in the likely places. Moved on to another whilst there was still a bit of light...didn't fancy being caught in this spot solo and in the dark in its current state
Interesting spot. The clue narrowed down the possible hiding spots for us and we had it quite quickly. Thanks!
Easy find as not many places fitting the hint were around. Was a bit sceptical about having to go onto the property grounds but made a quick grab. Didn't look like anyone was living/ visiting the Bach anyway. Tftc
Short bicycling trip again.
Struggled a bit finding this one, I remember. It did not look to be people living here; That was good
Tftc.

We parked round the corner and made the short walk to GZ where we found co-ords wanted to take us next door but we used common sense and made a nice quick find
We remember reading Frank Sargeson when we were back at school, so were interested in the history of this cache. We parked in a nearby side street and took a short walk to GZ. Coords were a little off, but after re-reading the hint the cache was soon found.
Just returned from my holiday and catching up on the logs from my fantastic trip. Pretty quick find. Had the GZ all to myself. Signed log. Thanks.
Co-ordinates we're going to send us into a property but the hint helped us find the right spot. Start looking within 20m.
Once I turned my attention to the correct item of interest, the cache was soon spotted and logged. TFTC
Drive past here every day and always wanted to do it so stopped in while out on the bike this arvo. Yep co ords way off but the helpful hint narrowed the locations down meaning find #200 wasn't too hard a task. TFTC
Having visited a local cafe and eaten a delicious croissant a short walk to work off the excess was required. Didn't think twice about walking on to the property, but in hindsight perhaps not best practice. More importantly there was no-one home! Once GPS settled cache quickly found. All good . TFTC
Feel a bit uncomfortable searching here right outside someone's house. Saw a cute white Bunnie on the property. Co ords are out. Log signed as b&p.Tftc G-2. Find # 3075
The log almost blew away from me when I found it, but I put everything back where it was originally. Tftc.
#1270
I love reading fiction, but never got a chance to read something written by Frank Sargeson. Will try finding one, soon. Anyways, found the cache with the help of a flash light and obviously the hint. Cache is all good here. tftc.

Was a bit baffled for a while ?, read previous logs, oh cords way off !, widened my search and saw something more likely, then soon had it in hand,
But while trying to sign log, an over friendly tabby cat with needle sharp claws was trying to climb up my leg, TFTC

Headed out on one of NY Geocaching runs and headed to the coordinates. Position was a little off but the hint lead me to it. History behind the location was quite interesting.
Had just parked and was reading the clue when some other cachers came along. We waited patiently for them to find it and then went on an easy hunt.
I vaguely remember having to read a novel or maybe a short story by Sargeson and maybe Janet Frame when I was in high school. So it was of interest to me coming here to have a look at this home. At first I was stumped, parked my bike next to the letterbox, but after a re-read of the hint, finally got there. I was tempted to hack down some of the over grown bush to expose the sign better but didn't. Thanks G for that.
#10691. Well worth a cache here. We felt a bit exposed searching here, beside a busy road, but got there in the end. TFTC.
After a leisurely morning coffee, we headed out to explore Devonport, though it took us a few hours to get there as we had a bit of caching to do en route.
We had driven by this cache a few days ago without finding a suitable place to park, so we made a wee detour to it today, parking just around the corner in Eldon St. This little piece of literary history is not very well advertised. There is an info board in front of the building but the hedge is starting to obscure it, and, even more inconveniently, made accessing the cache a bit difficult. Eventually, StreetWalker groped his way to the cache.
Thanks for placing a cache here else we would never have known about the location. TFTC.

Joined up with yorkshirekiwi83 on this hot summers day to do a bit of caching around Devonport and Takapuna. Our first stop of the day and a quick find here - aided by YK83's previous find of the cache. TFTC!

Very pleased to find cache here. Just been to and enjoyed "Gifted" by Patrick Evans so was very relevant. Tftc.
Only had a set amount of time to get some caches today so had a short list of caches which help me on a couple of challenges I am completing.
Started searching in the wrong spot, but it was where the GPS was pointing me. After no luck read a few logs and then work out where I should be hunting. A quick find once I was searching in the right spot, should of guessed it'll be there.

Looked for this many years ago. Before we really knew what we were doing. GZ today was reading 13m but by now we know better than to enter the property and we made a fairly quick find. Lots of excitement while we walked to GZ. Police, firefighters and an ambulance but the fire truck was returning when we SL so here's hoping much was over reaction. NINO TFTC
After my earlier Dnf with my reluctantly caching husband I decided to get him to walk back to the motel while I searched for a premorning tea cache.
On the way I saw some wild looking irises. So pretty that I took a photo.
Not long after I found the cache. Woop Woop. My first find on a mini break in JAFFaville.
Thanks for taking me to such an amazing spot.

On a day out caching along the coast with Butchie Bum, stunning weather and area, enjoyed caching along here, we hunted with no luck around the co-ords, now looking at logs thinking we might have needed to look elsewhere, hope to return to the north and find one day
Found remnants of old cache but then looked over and found replacement. New log signed

found with yorkshirekiwi83, container is broken and half missing, log was found in the undergrowth but to soggy to even sign
Met with dagonNZ to find 6 souvenirs in 1 day, this was an additional cache. Found the reminants of the cache, took others distance and comments and put two and two together and realised where the cache was going to be. Yup I was correct. Emailed owner with picture of cache so he can see what it looks like now.
Confused from gps and previous logs as to whether it was inside or outside the yard. Ferret boy ran inside and quickly covered the possible locations but to no avail
I followed my GPSr into the yard, but couldn't tell if the house was occupied or not. I moved back outside and eventually found the cache. TFTC.
Difficult with the traffic. Went inside the fence and found it. 10m out of gps co-ords.
Took awhile here. Location was out by over 10 m based on our GPS but got there in the end!
Dropped by for another crack at this, and found it in about 30 seconds once we went inside the yard this time. Thanks Glyn.
After a good run in the afternoon, no luck here or up the road. We are staying nearby, so we might get a chance to try again.
We were walking past the area without my phone on me. And we saw two older peaple searching in the area so we went up to see what they were doing. After a while we asked them if they were geocaching and they said yes so we looked around a bit and found the cache! That was my first microcache and it was cool to do it in four. TFTC
This one gave me a bit of trouble spent a lot of time looking for different kind of Glyn cache then stood back and looked at the different kind of possible hiding spots then quickly found the cache. Nice paint job
