I am regretfully archiving this cache since unfortunately there has been no action to restore it, or any communication from the cache owner, chellejay, requesting additional time.

An ample opportunity has been provided for the Cache Owner to respond, but since this opportunity has been ignored, I can only conclude that the cache has been abandoned.

Caches archived under these circumstances are unable to be Unarchived, and this location is now available for the placement of a new cache, by somebody else.

Caches are to be available most of the time.
This one doesn't seem to meet this criterion any longer and needs to be reassessed, and probably moved a little to a location close by that is generally accessible.
Otherwise, it should be archived.
Thanks.

Went to look for this cache today. However there is a big sign that says there is no public access at the locked gate. I could not get closer than a 100 meter to GZ. I would recommend relocating the cache so it is accessible without trespassing.

Afraid didn’t want to spend too long searching as place is now closed, had a fair look for it though but no signs of it

Today our tour - which began in Perth, WA , and led us thru Western, Northern and Southern Australia back to Perth, was simply driving around in the Litchfield NP.

On the way we came to some interesting locations. Here we searched, found and logged this Tradi-Cache.

Weather was good in the morning and it should even get better during the day.

Thanks to 'chellejay' for showing us this location, for the fun we had with 'Coffee and Cache' and for the smiley. The search here and today didn't take too much time, fortunately.

Greetings from Germany and we hope to see you soon in the forest, prairie, desert or outback .

Dropped by here to look for this cache. Felt like we were trespassing though, so felt a bit uncomfortable looking around here. The whole area looks very neglected, and the cache location very bare and devoid of any vegetation. Don't think the cache is there anymore!!

We spent 17 days exploring the Kimberley trekking from Darwin to Broome along the Gibb River Road. It was an amazing adventure, with beautiful scenery lots of wild life and great company with Kimberley Off Road Adventures.
Prior to the tour we hired a camper van and explored Litchfield and surrounds.
We may have blown the cover on this one. It was closed and deserted but we entered anyway. We were spotted and asked by a caretaker what we were up to. We had to come clean and he then seemed more interested than angry. Hope we didn’t blow it for others

Hi there chellejay - today is our first full day in Litchfield NP, and began by hunting a Mystery cache which I'd solved many months ago (before heading off on this adventure). The cache is in fair condition but there was no log (had probably been eaten by termites) so I wrote on a slip of note paper - SL. This is our find #5014 - thanks to chellejay for this cache.

08-Aug-17
This is now private land. I will write to the owner to archive this one.

We flew over 20500 kilometers to get to New Zealand. [^] First we drove through south island and then the north island to Auckland. Altogether over 3000 kilometers by car. After that we flew to Sydney and started our magnificient three weeks journey in Australia. We flew from Sydney to Ayers Rock and visited Uluru, Kata Tjuta and Kings Canyon towards Alice Springs. There we flew to Darwin for at visit Kakadu and Litchfield National Parks. The rest of our time in Australia we stayed in Cairns and enjoyed all the time we were here in this country. Altogether 11 flights in this tour from home and back home again. Smile[^]

Our bus tour made a stop here, so we had a great opportunity to catch this one while the others ate lunch and drank coffee. Thanks for the cache and very many greetings from Finland. Big Grin

Out and about from Wangi camp grounds and visited many new and interesting places. We picked this one up on the way. We too needed a tool to access the cache, very tight and hard to get the lid off.

Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.

Found it but had a lot of trouble accessing the cache as the lid was on very tight. Had to use an implement to prise it off and have hopefully left it easier for the next finder. TFTC.

10:36:00 AM. I found it but could not remove the container to sign the log. The ants have built a nest around the side to lock it in place. Tried freeing it with some sticks but no luck. Went and found the owner of the cafe but they were on their way out. Said she would look at it when she returns. Didn't realise the log had to be signed. CO needs to check this out. I have a photo to prove we were there if you want it emailed to you. Thanks chellejay for placing this cache.

This was another find in Northern Territory while crossing Northern Territory and Western Australia from Darwin to Perth on Gibb River Road through the Kimberlys. During this 8500km journey we've met many nice and friendly people [^], visited countless marvelous places, saw lots of interesting local wildlife (and plants), took some 2500 pictures home and logged some 300 Caches Cool.

This was a nice hide, but the lid seems to be stuck Surprised. We couldn't open without destroying it Twisted, so we took some photos to proof our findBig Grin.

Thanks for the cache [^].

We felt a bit awkward driving in here to find this cache, but we have been in here before and had coffee on a previous trip. It is obviously private property, and no longer open to the general public. But as the description says it is OK in we went to search. That said, we had no problems looking for the cache.
Retrieval was another matter. The termites have moved in and we needed to use a screwdriver to enable us to extract the log. It took quite some time and gentle persuasion saw the lid come off the container. Although the outer container had some water the inner was nice and try. We did not try and remove the entire container as we would have risked destroying an excellent hide.
As we returned to the car the new owner came out. She knew about the cache but we have shown her where it is and given her a very brief explanation of what geocaching is about.
The cache should be all good for this season as long as no-one tries to remove the container without quite a bit of very careful work.
First to sign the log in 2014!

We went for a drive through Litchfield National Park, and did some caches while we were there.
As we were running short of time, we left 4 behind, but I'm sure we'll be back another time to get them.
We have seen this type of cache before, but this one is particularly good.
Had us bluffed for a while.
Thanks for the cache, chellejay.

The café is open for bus tours but with the main café having relocated to Wangi Falls the gate at the end of the road is often closed now.
To make it easier I think I will probably move the cache. I'll scout out potential locations and update the co-ordinates over the coming month. But for now the current cache is still available and café owners know that it's there so accessing it is not an issue.

Litchfield National Park NT

It was a bit of a late start today but it was good to get a bit of a sleep in. Once we all had our breakfasts we went for a drive to see ‘ Surprise Creek Falls’, on the way we stopped to find a cache not far from the caravan park where we were staying, “Coffee and Cache, GC1TRWH”, this was a pretty quick find but we were a bit nervous about whether we could be there now that the café is shut.
When we got to the turn off for Surprise Creek Falls we encountered a sign saying that the falls were closed, we could still access ‘Tjaynera Falls/Sandy creek’. At this point the road became gravel but it was in good condition so was not a problem, about 5ks in we came to a watercrossing, Jacki was reluctant to risk the crossing as we did not know how deep it would be and due to a sign warning of crocodiles and not to swim, she refused to walk across to test the depth. Luckily as we were considering our options, another vehicle arrived behind us, we reversed back and watched while they drove through, they made it easily so we soon followed, bumping and sloshing through on the rocky bottom with the water only up to the door sills. We carried on coming to a clearing around a very large termite mound and stopped to get some photos before continuing on to the parking area. Here we set off on a walk up through a steep rocky valley beside a creek flowing gently through a canopy of tall palms. We follow the path until we arrived at a sheer cliff face draped in the white veil of a spectacular waterfall plunging over the rocky cliff face into a beautiful, deep, palm fringed pool.
We scrambled around on the rocky shore to find a suitable place to enter the pool, I swam across the deep, dark, chilly pool to reach the waterfall and found a rock at the bottom to stand on under the curtain hammering down onto me. The kids found a spot where they could access the pool and splashed around in the chilly water. After we had cooled off we returned the way we came to the car, on the way out we took a quick detour to see the ‘Blyth Homestead’. This involved another water crossing and again Jacki refused to check the depth so I decided to take a chance and go for it, however I did not tell her that I had already spoken to another traveller who had just come through and that it was only as deep as the previous crossing we had made, lol. We came to an old shack which had been built from bush timbers and sheeted with corrugated iron, this had been built in 1929 by the Sergeant family as an outstation to the main Stapleton Homestead. This building was eventually abandoned in the 1960’s and is preserved as a popular visitor attraction with excellent interpretive signs depicting the history of the site. We returned back the way we had come making the water crossing without any dramas and returned to the caravan for lunch.
After lunch we tried to get the kids to do some school work and as usual Charlie was being difficult. Later in the afternoon we went for a drive back to Wangi Falls, once we had parked we went for a walk along the walk trail. The trail lead up through a lush tropical palm forest along a steep well made trail, stopping first at the canopy viewing platform where we could view the tops of the tall palms. The trail then continued up to the top of the waterfall where we stood on a boardwalk over the creek which then tumbled down the cliff face to the pool below, crossing over the creek the trail made its way down steep rocky steps back to the car park below.

Stayed at the nearby safari parkland wandered down here one morning. The place is clearly closed now. However, the only thing that stopped me from getting this one was that there were people in the compound who were watching me at the gate. ;-(

We were on a day tour from Darwin and we stopped at the café for lunch. Turning on my GPSr I was pleasantly surprised to find a cache within 30m. The coords were a bit out for me today but a likely hiding spot was soon spied and the cache was discovered. Quite an impressive hide. Well done chellejay and thank you for adding to my enjoyable Litchfield experience. Tick... a favourite.

I've put a new logbook in with a double-sealed container. The external lid is tight but is unavoidable with the wet season. I'll put a rock under the cache container which may help to bang the lid off with!

Made up for the DNF over two years ago with a quick find this time.

Removed the soggy contents (perhaps made a mistake leaving the log) but replaced the log with another one in a new plastic bag.

will try to get a new logbook out to the cache! bear with me, sorry!
you don't need to actually enter the cafe area itself to find the cache so don't worry about being spotted! - they know why you're there Wink
And, the cafe will certainly be open during the tourist season.

10-Sep-12
I am afraid that the log book is now too wet to sign. Hopefully it can be replaced. TFTC.

01-Sep-12
Nice hide! Unfortunately, it looks like someone left the cache device open and exposed to the sprinkler nearby allowing water to completely filling the container. The log book is ruined and unsignable. TFTC,

The sign says Cafe Closed, but we still ventured in to the carpark. Probably lucky for us as there were no muggles. Actually a qick find - spotted by the Boss. This one deserves a favourite from as a clever cache. Cache was a little damp inside, but the logbook was well protected by its ziplock bag. TFTC

19-Aug-12
Looked around but couldn't find it. The cafe is open again though

12-Aug-12
This was our 5th cache in our caching run today - and we found it at around 13:35.
(So this is our 4614th total find.)

Found it!! Found it!! Exactly at GZ. We had a bit of trouble getting it out of its hole though.

The cache was soaked, so we spent some time trying to dry it out. Unfortunately there is a sprinkler aimed right at the hide, so we guess it won't be long before it is soaked again. The Log is dry and snug inside it's own container.

Took: Nothing
Left: Nothing
Thanks chellejay for the hunt today.

Dropped in to find this cache but despite quite an extensive search would have to agree that it is long gone.

05-Jun-12
Would be good if this was archived so we all dont waste our time. I guess with nearby visitor centre going up business economics will change further?

18-May-12
Pulled up but didn't proceed to look for cache as we were under the watchful eye of somebody at the nearby [closed] cafe.

17-May-12
Sad The cafe is closed and the whole business for sale as it seems and my two previous cachers noted. Nevertheless I had a look around at GZ but could not find it despite of the hint. It was a strange feeling since it was probably 'trespassing on private ground', and there were defintely people around watering the plants. And I constantly tried to step in one of their plant areas and focused on the environment ... Red Face. Wei

06-May-12
Went to get this cache but the Litchfield Cafe is currently closed (for sale) and we didn't want to trespass...

Hopefully someone buys and keeps this cafe running and this cache can continue, would be sad to see both disappear!

17-Jan-12
The coffee shop was closed when we arrived...Mr Bushies2 spotted it first but said nothing till I saw it, very clever hide but the water was half way in it, so we drained it out and added a dry logbook with cliplock and put it in a small MM tube to prevent water going in...you get a favourite point from us Big GrinBig Grin Thanks chellejay.

Found while on holiday from NZ. Was rather nervous about being close to private property, but needn't have worried after all - as it isn't. Was on the point of giving up when the owner called out " You were very close". Soon found after that and very nice to meet the owner. A very clever hide. We enjoyed a cold drink here after our exertions. Glad we called in!

A well hidden and clever cache, a coffee and mango cheesecake and the opportunity to meet the cache hider, what more could one ask for. Very good hide a lot of creativity has gone into this one, Left Gold wombat pin that I had retrieved from a cache in Tasmania and retrieved Grandma's bracelet trackable.
