During our holiday in New Zealand we have visited both the North and the South Island. We saw a lot of highlights of this beautiful country, but there is so much more to see. So many highlights, so many caches! The geocaches showed us a lot of special and interesting places. Sometimes a quick find, sometimes we had to search longer. A few DNF's, but that doesn't matter. We loved New Zealand and we hope to come back some day!

Today we have found the cache "Woodside 1890 (Wairarapa)".

Yeetrees, thanks for creating and maintaining this cache!

Greetings from the Netherlands,

I needed to stop here so that I could sought out where I was going. Wanted to walk the Waiohine Gorge track to find old cache T2. While doing that I checked for nearby caches and there was one right here. Over and soon had it in hand. Thank you for the placement.

WENZ is New Zealand's 5th Mega Event ever and for months I have been anticipating in attending it. It is the first Mega Event that I have ever attended and sadly I could only come for one day, so early on Saturday morning my father and I got in the car and drove our way towards Upper Hutt for a hectic day of geocaching. In the end it was a spectacular day where we managed to found 67 geocaches somehow throughout the whole day, see a lot of new faces, catch up with friends and just have an altogether amazing time.

Our one day at WENZ is coming to a close, so I planned to find quite a few more geocaches while we made our way back home to keep putting my numbers up. We found 9 geocaches on the way home and a couple geocaches that were much needed to complete the 11 geocache types in one day.

We had planned to find a few geocaches in Greytown before finishing up and heading home. There was a couple geocaches I needed for my 11 types in a day and a few geocaches that I had set out to complete today.

As we entered Greytown we quickly stopped to find this geocache. We pulled up and I hopped out. Following my phone to the GZ, I had a short hunt as when I got to the GZ, I saw exactly where it was hidden. TFTC, nice and easy geocache to help bring my numbers up for the day.

A brief sortie into the Wairarapa "on the way" to the Mega; drove with a muggle friend from Wellington this morning & had a leisurely lunch in Greytown before looking for a few caches.
Thanks for this one, Yeetrees - I'm not familiar with this region and the history is very interesting.

An interesting cache, thanks.
Over in the Wairarapa for the weekend, visiting friends in Martinbrough. They were kind enough to ask "do you still geocache and are there any near us that you haven't done yet?" This was the fourth find of the weekend.TFTC.

On the road for our first venture into the North Island with our little caravan to explore this part of the country. It is not a caching expedition but we do manage to stop for one or two Wink. Our travels brought us to your cache – many thanks, Yeetrees, for bringing us to this spot. We’ve had great fun on the way, and look forward to finding a couple more caches as we travel on our way. TFTC.

VikingNav and I are enjoying our visit to New Zealand. We have been on the North Island exploring since January 7th. We have driven many kilometers, and still have many more to go as we take the ferry to Picton on the 25th to start exploring the South Island for a few weeks. We have loved finding this great cache during our adventure. Our target caches have been virtuals, earthcaches, letterboxes, and traditionals. We appreciate all the cache owners for the time and effort put in to giving us the joy of the hunt. Answers have been sent to all virtual and earthcache questions for both VikingNav and myself. If pictures are required, they are posted. All traditional, letterbox, or puzzle logs have been signed. Cheers! >^..^

After spending a night at Palmerston North, we are continuing our trip to Wellington, with a few detours along the way. Say a sign for "model railroad and farm cheese", so had to stop. That led to a trip to see the Fell Railroad engine. Along the way we found a few virtuals and traditionals. Catzilla sent any virtual info required. Thanks for all the fun caches.

13-Aug-17
This reserve these days may have two claims to "fame" - a resident, rather bedraggled looking chicken who we had to scoot from GZ and it being a place where campervans can come and well, drain their waste. Not sure that was the good burghers of Greytown's intention when they marked this place with a cairn, but needs must, I suppose. Phone was trying to get me to climb the fence but has been on the fritz all weekend so geosense applied and it was a quick find in a sensible spot. Thanks for placing and maintaining this cache.

Up bright and early for another trip to the Wairarapa to collect some more caches. Off to Greytown and Martinborough areas - I've not been to these two towns before even in pre-caching days. Really liked both of them and will have to come back to explore some more.

Back in Greytown after lunch and collecting a few more caches before starting to head in the right direction for home. Cache was a quick find here. TFTC

Last one of 14 in or near Greytown today, a very pleasant winter's day, before heading home over the hill. Reasonably quick find once we'd decided which was the correct direction to head! #1190. TFTC.

#2027. Lucky last of the day after a sweep through the Wairarapa after a few targeted caches and doing others en route. Ended up with 23 finds and a few too many DNF's for my liking. But hey that just means you have to come back another time to finish the job and enjoy the scenery. This one was a nice easy finish to the day as nightfall set in. Signed the log and replaced the cache as found. Then time to hit the trail and back over the hill to Welly. Thanks for the cache Mr Yeetrees.

FIN (laalaa, janahola, temyllyl, kapeka) holiday in New Zealand. Wonderful country, I loved it.
Greetings from Finland.
Thanks for the cache.

28-Oct-15
Found it with Team FIN [janahola, kapeka, laalaa & temyllyl]

We had fun with caching few weeks here in New Zealand. Lots of geocaches and many sort of them too. We saw awesome places, weather was pretty good all the time and people were friendly and polite. Caches were pretty similar like in our home country. Of course there were some exeptions. Nice and really scenary country!

Greetings from Finland

On a geoholiday road tripping to Christchurch MEGA and around beautiful New Zealand. Our four people group (temyllyl, laalaa, kapeka and myself) from Finland used group tag FIN to log the caches.

Today we drove from Wellington to Masterton. We saw many nice places and caches. Thanks for the cache!

Welcome to MEGA Finland in 5-7 august 2016!

13th day on our geo-roadtrip in New Zealand, and caching our way towards north. Logged using our group nickname FIN with janahola, laalaa and kapeka. After having a blast in South Island and in Christchurch Mega event, we had to start heading back home. Fortunately we still had few days left to spend in NZ while driving to Auckland.

Five years later I was passing and thought I must investigate this cache again after stopping twice , while family lived in Featherston and never locating the cache.. this time it was straight forward and in a new place to where I had searched before which was in a tree. This is a rather late log in as I thought I had logged the caches in that I had done over those few days but I discovered that this had been overlooked.. Thank you for this cache and another smiley face.

27-Jul-15
Completely overthought this one and ended up searching forever! Got caught offguard by a large group of student muggles sorry. May need to be moved just incase. Thanks for the placement:)
