Found on a drive around town on a nice warm morning. Had a long look for this one. No doubt it could easily go missing with lots of locals so close by. TFTC,

Was glad to find something a little bigger than a nano on one of these. TFTC.
Glad the bowling club wasn't pumping tonight, easy to find with no real muggle trouble, looked right at the back of the cannon first time round and man was it rusty in there.
Our 3rd cannon cache to date. Definately the easiest and biggest. Loved finding it so quickly as it was exactly where it said it was. [^]
I am waiting for someone to hide an ammo box on a gun. I'm even starting to dream of it. Clear skies!

Diffculty Reach hand hole..i get long stick to get cache... OH PHEW!!!!!... hide well... thank
Don't know if it was there as my arm would not go in as far as I wanted (unless I was in the wrong spot).
Had a good search before resorting to the hint, which confirmed I had to do what no sensible person should....

Had a bit of trouble with the bowlers nearby but I think they were too busy bowling.

Second attempt at this one. Brought the kids with me this time and let them "climb" all over it
Reperio at 1150. Another one of these contraptions that geocachers love finding caches on...not! Luckily the cache was found in a couple of minutes, which was great. I'd love to find out the ratio of anti aircraft caches hides out there.

A quick find on a little caching outing for The Burners Family. Thanks . Oh and we love cannons!!!
Nice wander around the corner from the lunch at the Junction with Lodessa, watching the river in flood slowly slide past. Very pleasant thanks MADSTARS
Found on a mammoth day's caching of 124 caches in 17 hours around the Maitland and Port Stephens area with The Rats and FarmerFrentzen.
At around 10:36am we arrived here and parked under a nice Jacaranda or two. We've done a stack of caches on these types of guns but as FarmerFrentzen had visited once before without success today he was able to lay his hands on the cache almost immediately. TFTC!

#4732 Found this cache as part of the Rats, Steeba & FarmerFrentzen blitz on the Port Stephens area. I think the word is pronounced Booooom! and since F.F had been here before but was unable to retrieve it then, we knew exactly where to find this one.
Thanks

Found during a 17 hour caching spree with The Rats and steeba that yielded 124 finds.
this one had previously eluded me so it was good to finally make the find today.
TNLN and thanks MADSTARS for the cache.

After quite a bit of searching and trying to not attract too much attention from muggles on their way to melbourne cup parties, we found cache. It was quite interesting to get up close with this amazing piece of machinery. TFTC.
This was looming as a hard one with the amount of muggles hanging around in the park plus the white leghorns next door.
The poor old thing is suffering from a bit of rust and we were hoping that the cache wasn't in one of those spots. Luckily the clue made it fairly straight forward.

We found this morning and ran into Team Rocket at GZ. Good to meet other cachers in the field.
Our iPhone decided to conveniently stop working while we were searching for this cache (Yeah, thanks Apple...) so we had to man up and do it the old fashioned way. Great cache, and also, our first time bumping into other cachers in the act! Hope we didn't hide it too hard for you guys!
We met our first fellow cachers today! Hope you two had a lovely day and are enjoying your holiday.
Lots of possible places for this cache to hide in, but eventually we went for the one that just felt right.

Cache found easily thanks to the clue - I wouldn't mind a dollar for every one of these I have searched for a cache! (not for every one found though!). The roofing next door is pretty amazing!
Found with The Bearz. Being smaller and quicker, they managed to find it before me. 2nd one I've been beaten to today.

Thought this would be more difficult, but guess we got lucky when we put our hands straight onto it within seconds. TFTFC
Easy find although had to be carefull of some yahoo muggles at the bowling club and some workers near to the cannon. TFTC
Might wanna come collect the old log! Its getting a bit damaged with age. New log is all good Clearing out RT today I often dislike nanos on guns, but this micro was not as nasty and quickly found. Cheers from Sydney!

Nice hide. I've never been to this part of The Terrace before & I've worked here for a while! Thank you.
Had a look at this earler but no luck finding the cache It was at night and those pesky bowlers were out and about.
Came back today and found it easly!! I am sure it wasn't there the first time as I looked in there at least 4 times before.
Log was full so I left a new sheet in there as well.

A bit of looking was needed for this one even after reading the hint. Found it pushed well back.
No ball rolling muggles around as it was almost midnight but the lights were burning bright.

A nice easy find (with the hint) - lots of nearby bowls-playing muggles who didn't pay any notice to us. TFTC.
Found and signed all while the ladies were playing an afternoon tornament at the nearby bowling grounds.
In town for a family gathering, and caching was great excuse for a trip down memory lane and to show the GeoKids where Mr Simia spent a lot of time visiting as a child. Mr Simia found this one @1107 after following the hint and description.

i normally cringe at finding caches on cannons, but this wasn't too bad at all!! found pretty quick with virtually no muggles TFTC!!
fasnionbly late, but i did find this one, i actually put my hand on this one before others found it.
Located quickly after the Pie 4 Pi Day event.
Mrs Shifter located the cache and then led others on a looking spree on other areas of the gun, til others had located the cache,

Right where it should have been (thanks for the accurate clue). Was impressed by the shade over the bowling greens, almost makes them indoor rather than outdoor rinks. TFTC
Blimey they don't cater for the city bowlers like this?? Raymond Terrace must be raking in some serious doh
Yep just another gun - damn I'm tired of these but at least there's an accurate way to find the sneaky hide.
Worth a look TFTC

Needed stealth due to the nearby game of bowls. Cache was deep in, so a bit hard to retrieve.

A nice quick find. Wow - check out the awesome roof over the adjacent bowling greens! TFTC.
Had this one quickly in hand and completed caching duties, now just to put it back. That was easy said then done as while completing the log school kids avvived on the grass area near GZ watching us while they waited for more of them to come from every other direction. We moved away from GZ taking in the rest of the park area only to have the kids race to GZ and climbed all over it. When the teachers called them back to the grass we went back in taking a few pics while Connar was posing for a pic he was able to slip the cache back into position and we were out of there just as the buses pulled up to collect the kids.
Team Casho’s Boy weekend of caching up north.
With the girls at home the boys decided to go a caching.
Armed with a list of lower end caches. No disrespect to the caches or their owners there were many wonderful caches, locations and things to see in our travels. We just set up a search for those with a terrain level of around 2 – 2 ½ for this trip to build up our numbers heading towards our 1000th find in our first year. As this was the case many of our logs would just read easy find so to expand on that we are including a run down on bits of our trip in all logs.
Trip
Wollongong – Raymond Terrace – Nelsons Bay and home via the Central Coast area.
Visiting relo’s while in the area (I know a major waist of caching time).
Found not only our 900th find but also out 950th, on our way to the big 1000.
Things we seen
Views, fireworks, kids jumping their bikes off the end of a wharf, a kangaroo, a koala, crabs by the hundreds, lizards, a crock, a turtle, kookaburra, aliens, ducks, dogs, boats, tankers, a weather station, the Coast Guard, police, ambulance and the fire brigade and that was just for starters.
Removed a box of matches from a cache in a bush area. Not such a good idea I thought.
Got bitten by mozzies, invaded by school kids while trying to return a cache, did some 4 wheel driving, got busted by muggles, introduced my muggle family to caching, collected some travellers, found some new and interesting hide styles and carried out maintenance on several caches while on the go. On the way home had to take the long way due to a fatal car accident on Picton Rd. Stopped to help a driver who got a puncher as a result of the accident. Seen his car fall off the jack while we were passing by, legs under the car (all ok there thankfully). Kids got paid for our assistance as I would not accept the money. This detour proved longer then it should have due to the 3 new caches in Appin last week.
Our thanks to the girls for allowing us to cache without then (not that they had any other choice) and the many cache owners who placed the caches we attended.
We look forward to catching up with fellow cacher’s at the Geocaching Association of NSW Nurragingy Christmas Party GC1ZCCX December 12 2009, were all going well this will be our 1000th find.
Looks like the Oz Wagga Wagga Mega Event (April 2-5, 2010) GC1Y5R has just hit the MEGA requirements and we can’t wait to be part of it.
Merry Christmas
Happy and safe caching.

Found at 2.55pm GAFF1. We are getting better at finding 'em in cannons and found it in the first spot we looked, however we know what could happen the next time we look for a cache in a cannon!
Interesting to see that the whole bowling green has been covered - could just about be called an in-doors rink.
Thanks MADSARS

First find for our day of caching. We were surprised that the bowling greens were empty but that did make things easier. I like old artillery pieces as well and it is shame that this one is starting to look a bit shabby. A nice spot with a good hide. TFTC. [ Cache 119].

Found eventually under the staring eyes of bowling muggles. Just as well we had the geokid with us and he was able to reach the cache. It seems it must have been dislodged and moved by someone shoving a can of crazy string into the opening! Signed log and moved on. TFTC
I reached as far as I could left and then right but alas no cigar. Hopefully it hasn't been pushed too far in!
Left the kids with grandma and headed out for a late night cache hunt around the Terrace with Missy 18. Another great piece of history.

Team McWinTrex has had some interesting times with canons. This time the cache was found easily, by BigON, always a relief with these ones. Thanks MADSTARS.
UH OH .... another late night find after the event thats a little hazy
I remember a can (in fact several )...... but this one was an aerosol can stuck in the hole on the cannon but it wasnt the cache apparently
I vaguely remember having help on this one.
