The whole family was out in caching territory today, with twelve on the itinerary.Second cache for the day, and after seeing a spot we thought looked perfect and seeing it empty, we began to look is the less-obvious places. Bro and Sis missed it completely, but luckily Mother was on the ball and soon had the cache in hand. After the massive rain we've had over the last week, the cache container had a few centimeters of water in the bottom, and the paper was too wet to write on. We used our own strip - hopefully the rain stays away! TFTC Old Saint!

Hi OldSaint, thanks for the cache. It's very wet! I tipped out the water as best I could, but I managed to sign the log with a **good** pen!It could do with some TLC. I've driven past this so many times, so I'm glad it's now a smiley.I dropped off Davinells at Port Arthur to commence their Three Capes adventure, this morning, then met up with gooseandegg and stainless-steel-rat for a few caches at Dunalley, and of course obligatory lunch at the bakery.I'm back solo again and wending my way back towards Hobart.Cheers,EPs

Tasmania Trip Day 9. My second day caching out of Hobart was more counties to the south and East of Hobart. It was a cold drizzly day that got even worse as I went south. The highlight was the cave south of Port Arthur. I slowly worked my way back through the other counties and managed to see quite a few great small town along the way. I arrived back into town quite late in the afternoon and only did one more LAB set around town before finding somewhere to have dinner. I went back to the motel and did some logging and preparing for tomorrow. This was one of quite a few drive bys I stopped for today and was able to find. Thanks for the cache OldSaint46009.9 TNLNVisited: World Traveling Gold GC A#6 & Holiday Travel Bug Snow Globe Tag A#477**Albida**

One of twenty-two caches found today with Zozetta in the Eaglehawk Neck area. We began the day with a find just outside of Murdunna, then continued down to Pirates Bay, Eaglehawk Neck, Doo Town and the Tasman Arch and Blowhole. We also found two more caches at Boomer Bay on the way home. An excellent day out with many high quality caches found. In total we had twenty-two finds and two DNFs.

A quick find on the way home.

Thanks for the cache OldSaint!

I’m visiting Tasmania for a week-long geocaching trip with some other New Zealand cachers.

Today we picked up rental cars and headed out from Hobart to Port Arthur, stopping on the way there and back to collect a few caches.

The cache didn’t take too long to find, and the log was signed as GNTJ, which is me, NZ_B, Jude_E and GraciesGPSfun.

This cache (along with a dozen or so others) was found late in the afternoon as mr_johna and i began our slow journey back to the city.
The idea of finding a hundred caches in a day was such a ridiculous thought at first, i scoffed at the prospect.
By this time of the day, i was almost certain we were actually going to reach this impossible target.
Ended up being a hundred and four, of which i am still backlogging some four odd weeks later.
Thank you oldsaint for this random highway throwdown a good number of years ago.
Sorry for the late log, didn't wanto bulk/c&p something insincere.
Cheers!

Tasmania Day 2: Maria Island and the Tasman Peninsula

Today’s jam-packed agenda saw us heading to Maria Island to marvel at some cliffs and wombats, before heading south towards the Tasman Peninsula to take in the geological wonders of the area. Today’s journey showed us how dramatic Tasmania is in terms of its sheer mountains and how the forces of man and nature have shaped the unique history of this place. Thanks for all the caches placed by the various owners that highlighted the wonders of this gem of an island!

This is the specific log for this cache:
Just another park and grab on the way to the Tasman Peninsula, I suppose the cache title is a reference to “Boomer” in Boomer Bay? Anyway, easily spotted and logged with the good hint. TFTC!
