What a great day to walk this trail. With the whole family over the high hills, the kids loved it! Some parts very steep but we made it
This one is a bit tricky. But luckily there is a spoiler picture from one of the previous logs, use it!
We did and quickly found the cache.

The trail was steeper than it looked on the map. I missed the turn and ended up at the house. I was able to scoot around and get back on the right trail. For the next person, take the path to the right with a white marker post up the hill.
After using the bench to rest for a while, I got down to the search. I followed my GPSr right into the gorse patch like the PF. I read some logs and found out that there was a picture that might help. It certainly did. TFTC.

Out with the kids on a warm, sunny morning to grab a couple of caches around The Glen. This was our first stop. We were thankful for the photo because we didn't know where to start! Our phone wanted us in the middle of some gorse, but we left that for the goats that were probably wondering what on earth were doing. TFTC
Trying out a new pair of tramping boots before I put them to proper use in the coming weeks and It’s going to be a warm day again today so I set off from The Glen at 8am having dropped my car at Cable Bay.
First stop here after my DNF a couple of years ago. I now know why that was: looking in the wrong place, so I was glad for the CO’s spoiler as it took me straight to the right place first time.
Time for the uphill slog now before it gets too warm.
Happy new year all.

A couple of weeks ago we walked part of this track from the Cable Bay end so today we decided to 'attack' it from The Glen to find the cache we ran out of time to look for last time and to seek out this one as well.
I'm happy to admit my hill walks are stop/start affairs these days and this was no exception so the presence of muggles just meant a longer breather before replacing the cache and heading further up the hill.
Thank you Kiwi_Explorer.

On a wet and windy Sunday I was just pushing buttons on my Geo-profile and somehow arrived at my dates-placed matrix.
With still a few gaps staring at me I consulted Project-GC which suggested to do The Cable Bay Walkway and snaffle Cable Climb so a plan was hatched.
Limited time allowed us to only do two caches from Cable Bay but with a commitment to turn the Walkway into a string of smilies we were on our way once more today but this time starting at Glen Duan.
First up we checked what Glen was doing while catching our breath and he's doing great.
We had to wait for some muggles to move before we could replace the cache and move on.
Great views here too down along the Boulder Bank.
Thank you Kiwi_Explorer

A nice little walk up the hill to some great views. Love the house on the way up - the semi-detatched lockwood with the blue roof. At GZ there is a nice little geotrail going the wrong way (I know - I went the wrong way) but I still managed to find the cache just as Taybeedragon reached me - she is not as fast up these hilly bits.
So what is Glen Doin'? Not a lot of cache maintenance it appears. We did some proxy-maintenance and took the old shattered container out with us. The inner container is still good.
Added a path tag and a favourite.
Given that I am leaving Blenheim soon, I am putting in a concerted effort to cache out the South Island. 40 caches this weekend, only a few thousand more to go. A couple more weeks should do it! As usual I have Zara, Toby and Taybeedragon along for the ride. We were supposed to be going to Murchison, but there is some horrible weather that way, so we came here. Much better!!

Its a walk up this hill for great views today. Get to GZ just as The Seagnoid finds this one so saved me a scramble. Removed the outer broken container. Alls good with the inner container and log. . Cheers
Its another weekend exploring Nelson and Tasman with The Seagnoid, Toby and Zara. Early start out of Blenheim getting to Nelson by 8am. Had a great weekend picking up a couple of Labs, even a new one on our way home in Havelock.

Great views here on a nice Spring day.
It wasn’t until I was almost here that I remembered RG1972 and I had agreed on a plan to do this walk. Oh well, this is one less to worry about if I grab it now.
Simple find thanks to the photo hint. Would have been tougher otherwise. All good with the cache. TFTC Kiwi Explorer.
This is the cut and paste general info bit.
I took the day off work as RG1972 and I are heading off tomorrow to Tauranga to catch up with some friends on a long weekend. So I decided to have a casual caching day from Blenheim to Nelson, enjoying the nice weather and sweeping my way through from the Cable Bay area, through the Glen and eventually out to Brightwater. By about 3pm I had had enough, so quit after my second Tahunanui DNF. Good day though, found some spots, reserves and tracks I have not visited before, so thanks all COs.

It’s there - I’m sure it is - but I’ll ‘save’ the find for another day

Eleven and a half years since we placed this cache and I think it has been moved slightly from where we originally left it. Just as well given the growth of the blackberry patch. GPS though put me right on top of the cache for an easy find. Old container has seen better days but left it there as an outer cover for the new smaller water tight otter box. Please place back as found.
Spoiler image added to aid future searchers and hopefully allow you to avoid the worst of the prickles.

28 degrees C was the temp at departure for this walk through to Cable Bay but a nice sea breeze kept thing bearable. Was glad the seat was in the shade as I approached GZ and with the GPS in hand soon found the cache. As previously reported the container has seen better days and the log was damp but usable. Signed log and double bagged it plus threw in a spare log inside a plastic bag inside a pill container - this can be used if current log becomes too wet to use. This will hold until the CO can visit. Would have replaced the container but had nothing apart from my lunch box which had a cracked lid.
Great views from GZ on this fine summers day.

Found! Cache is smashed to bits and log very wet, need some attention! Beautiful views and worth the hike!
A beautiful day for a bit of out and back walking on our way back to Blenheim. We found it after widening search by a couple of metres. Fantastic views today. TFTC
Really wanted to find, was probably over thinking it - stunning view and would recommend to anyone (we even saw orca)
Almost gave up.on this one when I went for one more look and it was in plain sight. Beautiful spot! Tftc
Looked for it after finding other caches on walkway, but it proved elusive. Might come back some other time
This cache has been sitting here almost all the time I've been caching. I'm not sure why it hasn't got onto my radar. Oh yes, I have an idea. - - I probably thought I would do it when I did the others on the walkway - - but that never seems to happen - - - well actually I MUST make it happen one day!!!
Meantime, today this one came into radar range. Why? Well I have been slowly working my way towards a goal of 100 K_E finds and I have got so close that today I just had to get over the line. It was great strolling up here, a beautiful sunny day and you could see for miles.
What's Glen doin'? Well, not much today, but you can sure see evidence of that stormy day back in February when the sea got really fierce. Must have been quite scary. TFTC .

We had been to find Cable Climb and this was on our way back to the beach. The phone had us a wee way off, we searched all likely places around where the phone suggested. As GK was searching a bit further afield amongst the prickles I knelt down to see what he was doing, he said "I can't find it". I replied with "I can" as I had nearly knelt on it - there it was right beside my knee. Very pleased to have found this one as I can't say I was feeling too excited at the idea of climbing back up here. Thanks Kiwi_Explorer, I did enjoy the view from the seat
In absence of good GPS reception up there, Glen might be better off writing a hint for this cache, lest diligent geocachers who have trecked all the way up the mountainside in anticipation of a find might be frustrated.
The travelling fox is frustrated =u_u=
P.S.: Apparently, FTDNF, but how???

Nice day for a walk and a cache . Arrived at GZ and soon had cache in hand , not quite where GPS was telling me but found it anyhow . Nice views Thanx4tc
After a bit of a scramble, my clever geobuddy pipped me to the post! Great hide!
I was very grateful for the seat and cool breeze when I got here. Didn't have the best footwear for where the gps wanted me to go. Of course after I'd found the cache it then settled on GZ as 0. Great view. TFTC

What's Glen Doin? What's Chrisb34 doing more like!! This one took me WAY, WAY longer than it should have but got there in the end. Phew!! Superb views and well worth the effort. Thanks for bringing me up here KE!!
Bit of a grunt up the hill - but rewarded with fantastic views. Took much longer to find the cache - my GPS was a bit off. And I ended up with tender gorse scratched arms... very unnecessarily I might add.
Found in the end - signed and back down the hill - will bring hubby back here to walk the track to cable bay soon....

Can't remember the exact date we found this cache. Three of my friends and I walked from Cable Bay to the Glen. We found the cache without too much difficulty. I went down instead of going up and around, but we finally got there.

third time I have tried this one it seems every year I forget about the track being closed for lambing may be next time
This is my second attempt to find this cache. Had to look hard to see it this time also. Once located wondered how I didn't find faster. TFTC. Beautiful day to be up here and a favourite from me.
"some-one" has us keeping tabs on coastal ports all over the place, today, a day off as long as we are in cell phone range, so a local walk was on.
For several different reasons (even a wedding up top!), we have driven this walkway a few times, biked it a few more, run and walked it quite a few.
Today, finally cache it....thought we had looked for one here previously, but seems not.
great view, which a new house under construction just below the cache is going to enjoy too.
Cache in great condition. Thanks KE

After failure at "Marine Reserve Challenge" we wandered up here for the cache of the day and the wonderful view.

I've given this cache long enough to "mature" I think. Time today to make the find. Very grateful for the seat {puff puff}. Perfect day. Stunning view. A house is being built just below. I could think of worse places to work on a day like today.
First find for quite a while I note. Cache still nice and dry in its hiding place.

A cache that we had come to do a couple of times before but our timming was impeccable both of those times so this time we made sure that the "season" wasn't in swing and we could proceed to the cache Some stunning views which would have made great photographs if someone hadn't been in such a hurry and left it in the car (redfaced). An enjoyable cache and was a nice stretch away from the hustle and bustle of the last week TFTC
Nice to have finally walked up at least this far for now !!! What fabulous views from here on a perfect autumn afternoon - a good teaser to make us plan a full walk of the walk way - thanks for the view and the cache
Found with the wind howling and the sea below whipped to a frenzy. A fantastic spot we haven't been to for years. TFTC
I was staying with my sister in a house down in 'The Glen' and had to find this one before tea. It's a great view. Thanks. Hatas
I had never done this part of the loop track before - found today walking this way from Cable Bay. Lack of visibility in the low cloud made finding the marker posts hard, handy to have a GPS today! TFTC
Not much of a view further up the hill, nice to explore this track to come down. Amazing sea views of from here, glad to see my car still down there, not washed away by the rough ocean! +TB -TB TFTC. Have a happy 2010 you guys
Despite Mr Belts comments we were just about to abandon this find when Mr NAVFAM said "found it". Our caching today was challenged as the GPS was swinging wildly at all our sites (are sateillites on strike?). Contending with brambles, gorse and welts from the grass and the GPS not giving us much help it could have been in no less than hundreds of places in the 10 metre diameter. Had to rely on caching instinct. The walk was enjoyable though. TFTC. NAVFAM
Track is indeed open, sheep around, watching as I admired the view from the seat. TFTC
Perhaps Spring has sprung early. We did see a couple of lambs in Golden Bay over the weekend but thought they were unusually early. We will enable this one again after the 7th October.
Tried today but was greeted by a big sign CLOSED FOR LAMBING 1 Aug To 7 Oct, I will be back ( Its not spring yet )
Absolutely gorgeous up here today. what a view! This is definitely one of my most favourite walkways. TFTC (740)
How did we miss isis58 today? Never mind - it was a glorious day to ascend, and when we started the shady bits were still frozen and cold. So it was a nice feeling to get the sun on us when we got there. Jr B did the finding, replacing and the formalities. The only problem was... this was waaaay to easy, and gave us false confidence that the next one along would be in hand soon... TFTC - always good to have a couple to do, makes the harder one easier somehow.
Nice stroll up to GZ. Great views all the way up. Nice weather but a chilly breeze. No kids nearby - we see plenty of these in our job although the goats probably have more intelligence!!! Took Winnie the pooh TB left nothing. TFTC
Great wee walk. When I got to gz the cache hide spot was occupied by a small kid (as in goat) standing right on top! Co-ordinates bang-on, right to the metre. Good one. Left winnie the Pooh Tb- I think he's keen to move on.
Nice One!!!!!!!! Cool breeze, clear skies, warm sun---- add a great view and afternoons just don't get any better. Not to keen on the steep uphills, but do love the downhills. No problem with the find, as co-ordinates were spot on. Well done. Thanks
FTF Thank you. Nice walk up the hill on a cool morning had a chat with Biggles. Wonderful view ocean looked calm today TFTC
