We found this cache at 5:25pm as the 18th of 21 on our Bay to Maribynong Afternoon. A quick "find" here today as I had found this one with Team Rubik a few weeks back but I forgot to log it on that day. The cache was now missing and archived too, so it appears once I looked at this cache once back home. We had pulled up from a different direction so it was only as we neared GZ that I realised that I had been here before. I am putting the find in as this day rather than on the previous day to keep my cache order in line. A pity that the series had to go. Thanks from D & K B-A.
Tristan the Travel Turtle Tag (TTQWTC) has come for a flying visit back in time.
I was checking my closest unfound caches this morning and saw your posted note on the FHC series.
As I wanted to complete it before it was archived, I set out this warm arvo to make it a smiley!
It was in the first place I looked! Go me!

Found this one very easily - by chance I think! It's the first nano cache I have seen. Great hide! ...and great area for my dog to run around.
As the end of 2009 approaches, so does the end of the 75th Anniversary of this great club. This cache series will be archived early January to make way for new caches at McIvor Reserve and Footscray Park.

Weren't looking for very long as there were quite a few people around, going to try again next time I'm in the area, perhaps in the evening I'll have more time!
getting better at nanos but observed that the wipper snipper had just been through I was thinking that I may not win, but today I learnt about the footscray hockey club , their homes and travels - thanks to The Empire
I was unable to find this one on my last visit and didn't realise it was now a nano. As a consequence I spent quite a bit of time searching around the wrong areas before my torch light caught a reflected surface that wasn't expected. The cache description mentions there is a pencil in the cache, you've done well to squeeze it in!!

This was cache # 20 of 29 for the day, in the company of alansee on our clean up the western suburbs day. We had failed to find this one earlier in the day, this time armed with some new information we returned and soon had the cache in hand, It sure is good to finally find this one. My thanks to The Empire for the cache.

I had the chance to pick up a few caches in the area today while waiting for my son to finish a course at Melb Uni. so I headed out to this one first. I'd visited here a few weeks back, but had no luck and it turned out the cache was gone - and I was pretty happy today, as I pulled up, to spot Alansee and a2yg nearby and I assumed they'd already found the cache and could save me the trouble. However, it turned out that they'd had no luck either and the phone-a-friend option didn't seem to help, so we headed off together and did a few more in the area. I had to break off to pick up my son at 1500 but, as I was coming down the Princes Hwy, I realized I was passing near here again - so, as I hadn't had a proper look earlier in the day, I popped back for another check and managed to locate it this time.
Thanks Empire - glad I don't have to come back for a 3rd time - and I hope the FHC has a nice, permanent home now .

Well, finally found after my fourth go! The first two it had been muggled, and today I had another go in the company of A2Y and Geodes.
We were somewhat hampered by information from previous incarnations and it wasn't until we had givien it away this morning that we got more up to date information.
So on a return visit this afternoon the prize was ours.
Not quite sure what else to say really. The young kids on the tennis court were really sweet!

I was with Biggles Bear #1 for the afternoon, and he spotted this one as we approached GZ. I like it when these caches are found immediately, because sometimes I can spend ages tracking them down. Thanks for the cache.
Found 16:45, in the company of Muzza. another quick find.
TNLN, CSI=2, thanks to The Empire.

The return Of the Lone Random
After spending the winter season in Mount Hotham it is time to cache again.
Found by The Lone Random,
With being a part of FHC it is great to learn history and stories of the club.

I have changed the cache size from micro to nano to avoid further muggle problems. Same co-ordinates, shouldn't be too tricky to find. FHC #1, #2 and #3 are all nanos, #4 (micro) still in it's wonderful location at Footscray Park.
Sorry for the inconvenience,
- M

DNF My second go for this one, and both times I have good reason to believe that I was in the right spot, and therefore it has gone again. Not surprising, if my information is correct about the hide.
Found this one at 17:50 while on the way home from another find in the area. An interesting hide, but it might face a threat from items a tad more mechanical than your usual muggles . Good luck!
TNLNSL, although our night cache geocoin had a visit to mark the occasion. Thanks The Empire, this has certainly been an interesting series so far .

Found at 12.20pm GAFF5. Today there was no one around and I could walk straight upto the hiding spot and search without a care. The GPSr indicated 19 metres where the container was hidden and then settled down to 6 by the time it was replaced. It was also replaced a little deeper to give it some more cover.
Thanks The Empire for the story and replacing the cache.

There were a couple of muggles almost camped on top of GZ, we gave a previosu finder a call to narrow the search down but were unable to find the cache, we did find a lid that looked cache related lying in the grass.
DNF Searched with pprass and A2Y for a while and despite at least POF's all we found was the lid from a 35mil film container, which does not bode well.
DNF at 5.05pm in the company of Alansee and ACTS2YG.
There were a couple of muggles close to GZ who were totally uninterested on what we were doing, but it did cramp our searching activity. However after a couple of calls to friends we were quite certain that Acts2yg could not find it.
Thanks The Empire for the story in any case.

Find # 2954 and 9th of the day at 2:49 pm on afternoon out caching by myself to clean up the west. Another easy find , there were a few muggles about but they didnt care what I was doing here, TNLN, left my mark in the log, thanx The Empire....
Watched a bunch of people playing volleyball here and apparently having a great time. We did too but by finding caches.
Thanks again The Empire
Thanks again The Empire
These two have been sitting here for a while because we haven't been in the area, tonight was the time.
The Volleyball court was full with a game underway, but fortunately, GZ was far enough away not to be a trouble.
Thanks, Robmc.

This was a very quiet park this morning when I dropped in here on my way to the football.
There was absolutley no Saturday sport going on here so it was an easy find in the second place I checked.
Thanks to The Empire

First find of the day. My daughter loved the giant swing in the park. We don't know exactly what it is for, but she had a great time in it! Thanks for the cache.

Ahhh. So that's where it is. I got caught up looking for something a lot smaller when GabGab and I approached the fence, but she soon had the cache in hand.
Doh. Upstaged by a 9 year old.
Took nothing, left nothing.
Thanks The Empire for this cache experience today.

I found this cache with caughtatwork today. I also found this cache while daddy was looking at the light pole. Haha. Thank you.
Found by Mary & David at 1655. School holidays meant this one took a while so we could remain unobtrusive. Wonder how much all those palm trees would fetch? Our thanks again to The Empire for another instalment of FHC history.
Found by PR&F on 6/7/09 @ 3.20pm.
After a good search of the area, I soon had the cache in hand. 3up was also on the same mission as I was and it was nice to meet another cacher.
I was hoping to grab a FTF on one of these caches that became available, but living in the north didn't help! Happy with a 2TF on this one!

*FTF* at 11:35am, 6/7/09. So pleased I rushed to this one, and grabbed the FTF honours. No muggles about when I was there.
A great series, The Empire - I have learned so much more about my neighbouring suburb now... many thanks for the tour of Footscray!
