Didn't even stop whilst passing after recent logs. Place has been flattened , needs a C O intervention please
We tried to find this, but had no joy. The area has been recently cleared - is the cache still accessible?

Considering the debris, you may need to review the co-ordinates or your description/hint.
Came out for a picnic today and went looking for a couple of caches. Tried this one just before leaving. This was a difficult one for this relative novice. I'm pretty sure that I had the right right spotand I suspect that the cache is hidden under the debris as suggested by others. (I don't know how vydra20 & jockmclaren did it). I wouldn't recommend doing this in jandals . . . (or thongs as us Aussies call them . . )
Looks like this cache (along with possibly two other caches nearby) is in the middle of a recently logged area - this one under mounds of debris.
For the sake of sanity we set off with sonia26642 for a crazy geocaching trip, aiming to cache until we drop. The main destination was Nelson and the ‘surrounding’ area, but then we ended up covering a few miles in three northernmost regions, plus a few in Canterbury. We were signing/stamping the log as 'Team Polak' or ‘TP’ for the two of us on this trip to save logbook space. We found a lot of different caches, city ones, road side, park side, up a hill and on an island, and we enjoyed every single one of them. It was good to be a professional thingfinder for a few days!
We had great fun and are grateful to all CO’s who placed caches for us to find, and help restore our sanity before returning to our other non-geocaching lives!!

This was one of the most epic weeks ever, and definitely my most epic caching week ever.
Me and mum headed up on a holiday north to Nelson and very wider surrounds. In total during the trip, we found almost 500 caches! (470 odd I think, but final results are yet to be in! ) We covered about 3000 odd km I think too. Crazy! And had our absolute best caching day ever too at 160 found. Spend 9 days travelling, caching, and having the best time ever!!
So sorry about not so epic logs, as otherwise this would probably take me the rest of my life to log, especially with two big events to organise coming up! Eeek!!
Almost every single log we signed as 'Team Polak' to avoid needing to write out both usernames taking up space on logsheet - as well as precious caching time!! Haha.

Had to read the previous logs to find. Cache a bit wet but wrapped up as best as. Tftc.
After failing at some other cache, this was nice and easy. Loved the walk through the woods

A nice ride through the forest. Found on a bit of a bike ride from Richmond to Rabbit Island, and almost Mapua (if we had made the ferry). Thanks for the hide.
This is easily one of our favourites so far. Really enjoyed tramping through the bush for this one. The container was a bit water logged, but the log itself was not too damp. Awesome hide, TFTC!!
Couldn't really "see" the buffalo but had a nice walk and picked up the cache - tftc
We came on bikes with weter1 to turn Rabbit Island into smilies. The hide was spotted from afar and the cache quickly found.

A free night before Waitangi Day and so a trip to Rabbit Island before gates closed at 9 pm to clear up some caches in this area. Spied the feature from a distance and put the GPS aside for a quick find. TFTC
A great place for a cache. Thanks for bringing us here and for the cache.
A lovely morning for a before work walk on Rabbit Island. Revisited this cache today to swap trackables. Also first time I used my new phone to locate a cache as I didn't have any 'found' caches in my GPS.
Found it on a short bike ride out with cousins and Brocko of course. Easy find, nice Buffalo resemblance.
Would have been an uneventful find except for one of our party ending up in A and E with a fracture. Won't forget this cache in a hurry. TFTC
We had to walk into this area. A group were shooting a movie around the "skull'. We marked our success and movied on.
We're planning to spend a whole day (caching) on the island soon but wanted to hunt for a couple before heading home from Nelson today ..
It's still hot debate whether Jr Juicy or I spotted this first, regardless though we both enjoyed revisiting what we call The Enchanted Forest (Enid Blyton fans will understand), listening to the trees whispering their secrets "Wisha-wisha-wisha", and making the find .. Loved the 'buffalo' too
Thanks for the fun!

A nice walk along the forest track then up into the trees,I walked right past it following the gps. Then read hint and Miss LB soon had it in hand,Should have followed the gps on the way back out,had to do a bit of bush bashing to get back to the road.TFTC
We had a good walk around the island and yes did see the odd rabbit. We thought we could drive to more of the locations as we where trying a collect a number of caches today but soon found gates but enjoyed the walk instead.
We parked at the corner gate and headed down the forrest trail until the GPSr said 50m to go so we headed into the forrest (light underground) and saw the feature as the GPSr was a little slow under the trees. A quick find for today. We signed the log and re hid. TN LN TFTC

The buffalo skull was easy to find. Perfect GPS reception, and far away from muggles... TFTC
Looked at a couple of stumps before seeing THE one from a distance. Then an easy find. Great area. On a cycle trip airport to Mapua. Tftc
Fourth find with GPYesss on our early morning Boxing Day cachathon. Quick find after staggering through the bush and avoiding a downpour. Tftc.

Found with Spankymoore on our boxing day 5 hour cache fest. As we walked through bush, I was wondering how the name of this cache was going to tie in to the site. Well done. Great thing ! A mad dash once we realised. TFTC
Visiting Rabbit Island and decided to have a look for this one. Good descriptor. Easy find. TFTC.
Found as part of a geocaching trip to and around Nelson. TFTC! Found on 28/8/2012 (but forgot to log the caches from this trip at the time!)
TFTC. What a cool name and location for a cache. Just perfect. Cache was in good order and I have given it a favourite vote.
Saw GZ from a distance away. Didnt bother with GPS from there just walked straight up to it and found instantly. Have been meaning to come out here for ages to check out the bike tracks, will have to come back with the bike next time. Thanks
Today our plan was to go on Rabbit Island : not too crowded at this time of the year ! Really nice ! The views could habe been better (lots of clouds) but we enjoyed the beach and the shells colllection ! Thank you for the cache / Merci pour la cache. Greetings from France !
Eventually found it. It would have been a lot faster if I had read the description properly. I did not realise it was supposed to be shaped like a buffalo skull. I think I looked around 5-6 different stumps before AI got the right one. TFTC
I didn´t understand the name of the cache till I have found it. Now I understand, really true:). TFTC!
Real bushwacking today as loggers were at work on access road and no access was available (that way !! The skull was worth the machette work. TNLN. TFTC.
Decided to find a few caches whilst picnicing with the kids at Rabbit Island, quick find. TNLN. TFTC.
An impressive buffalo skull indeed. Had some troubles finding my way there, and only after finding it, I found the easiest way getting there.
Anyway, enjoyed the quiet woods.
Thanks for this cache!

Its so amazing when your looking for a stump that looks like a buffalo head how may of them look like buffalo heads.
Had to bush-bash a bit here, but found easily enough once at GZ. Thanks, Jackie and Grant.
