Phew this one became epic pretty fast. So I started it well, i was most amused by the masses of bats just hanging out right there. Highly entertaining. Then I went tooootally way too far and sat a good while somewhere pretty and did a rethink.Decided to just walk around looking for waypoint two which I later discovered. and not long after that, the cache itself! Yahoo! lol.So yeah, cache is all good, no idea what happened there, but kinda skipped a step and still made it in the end. Go me. Thanks to you too! For bringing me somewhere I wouldn't have come to watch the dogs frolic off leash was totally worth it alone.
I am in Sydney from Adelaide for a few days to attend to some family business. Today I took a day out to go and find a few caches.
My main aim was to add to my LGAs around Sydney. I was driving, so just targeted one or two caches of interest where required, including this one.
This was the first for the day. The required information was gathered and final coordinates calculated, then it was off to GZ for a quick find.
It is certainly a popular spot here for the dog walkers (and the flying foxes!).
The cache container and logbook are in very good condition.
Thanks tronador for the cache.

After attending a nearby event, I continued for three more caches with Brewmaker and Geodog Zelda.
Trying my best to dodge the flying foxes as they were scared off by Zelda. The sign at the final waypoint is in bad shape and difficult to read. Luckily it does not make a lot of difference to the final location.

Found with Its_Dozzie and GeodogZelda after attending the nearby anniversary event. The CO was in attendance and informed us it was found earlier today, so we confidently headed over to the park.
We found WP1 easily, and did the calcs to get to WP2. The plaque there was a bit worn, but we worked out what we needed and then it was a short walk to GZ. After checking one spot, I moved to a better position where the cache was quickly found. We added our names while Zelda barked at the hundreds of bats screeching overhead.
A good multi in a nice location. Zelda met a few doggies on the walk, and we will have to come back another time for a proper play. TFTC

Came equipped with a genuine canine, who enjoyed my to and fro wanderings. We stopped several times to check the bats spinning and squeaking above. I recall that many were evicted from the Botanical Gardens a few years ago so maybe this is one of their new camps. I had a couple of answers at WP2 but used Occam's Razor and chose the lesser one, which proved correct. Then checked the wrong thing before noticing an alternative. Thanks tronador.
Cat & Dog TBs drop. Found log to follow (when I catch up with outstanding Mega logs)
Not a quick find, but a find. Got the instructions wrong at WP1. Got confused at WP2. At what I calculated as GZ I thought I must be wrong... there, really? But it was there, really. And a fresh logbook. SL TNLN TFTC.
After numerous conversations with another cacher trying to find this and with photos to show how this area has changed I took a look and can confirm the cache is gone. I've replaced it in the same spot but the area certainly had changed since placement in 2008. There were no flying foxes then. GZ still works...just...there is easy access just above from the path. Ive done a bit of Gardening so access should be easier....I'll work on redesigning this a bit too more pleasant spot. But for now should be OK.
Collected all the info, found an appropriate hiding place, but it was empty.
Seemed like it was probably the correct spot from a couple of photos in the logs.
No finds for some time, a CO check is probably needed.

Out and about enjoying the sunshine, nice and enjoyable quick multi. Collected sums and made a pretty quick find at GZ TFTC

Surprised by all the noisy treetop residents at the start of my walk. As usual for me with multis, got off on the wrong foot but soon corrected the error of my ways. From there it was smooth sailing until gz where I made another rookie error. Again quickly corrected but then stood at GC scratching my head as the hint object was not within sight (which you may find surprising). After some landscaping, managed a quick find. Great to get a multi on a leap day

That was an enjoyable two part multi. Although I grew up in Hunters Hill I never ventured down this way to the head of Tarban Creek. I do recall that in the forties that there was a dairy in the area as I used to regularly see the cows grazing.

Another fine multi - thanks for hiding and good for nimble geokiddies.

#2297 after the CITO and getting Tiny Shiny decided to have a go at this multi that I got wrong and ran out of time the previous time after a different souvenir day CITO.
I can't remember what I did wrong last time but this time I didn't read all of the instruction at WP1 & did the calculations on the listed coords instead of the instructions. With tge detour to a place I had difficulty getting too. But before I climbed to the top I reread the instructions on my GPSr screen saw the right idea & got a more legitimate location so headed there instead.
Found the required info & learned my lesson from the first calculation soon had GZ worked out. A quicker walk than the previous and soon had the cache in hand
With cache in hand we signed the log and replaced as found. Both the cache and log are in good condition. Thanks for bringing me to the area and thanks for placing the cache tronador

After the CITO in Putney, Sir Phil and I tackled Tiny Shiny under the bridge at Gladesville and there was plenty of time left for one more. Phil had been to this one before, but had run out of time. No problems this time. Nice spot.
Came here about a month ago and got the info needed, I starting looking but the bats above me was making me nervous, so I bailed. Came back today on my daily walk and decided to have a look again, I noticed a spot I didn’t look at before, bingo CIH. Just as I was pulling the cache out a random came up to me from seemly nowhere and scared the crap out of me.lol

I came to today's CITO early, in order to be able to attempt this cache and found it fairly easily. Lovely area. My daughter lives nearby, but I'd never been in this park before. I see where some of the bats sound bombed out of the Botanic Gardens have now made their headquarters. Or were these ones always here?
Thankyou tronador! Left tb.

Found this one while attending the CITO event hosted by JordsAU, picking up the waypoint info as we walked around the park collecting rubbish. A quick computation and we were at GZ with CIH. Found with EverestHigh. Signed the logbook, picked up the TB, and then replaced the container as found. Now it's back to picking up rubbish. TFTC tronador.

Tftc, made this one a night cache when I was in the area. Lovely place by day or night.
A nice warm day for a Doggo walkies, and a quick find once I'd solved the way point puzzles.

Wow, thanks for taking me to this area. Never realised it existed. Found the cache after initial miscalculations of WP2. It was a nice walk anyway. TFTC
This has been my favourite cache all holiday. Out with goomiegoom and the loungewalrus, we found it but as usual, I sent the walrus to do the dirty work. The bats here are amazing! I've dropped off a TB looking for miles and colder climates. Tftc!
It was getting really hot on my walking journey through the area, but I was very thankful for the many drinking fountains that are along the path. No problems finding WP1, but finding the information from WP2 was a little more challenging as I don't think I quite got the coordinates right, but anyhow I got there after exploring the sights. The bats seemed to be crazy in the trees here today, but despite the distraction, I found the very well hidden cache relatively quickly at the final GZ. TFTC tronador
A bit over grown at gz. Stuck at wp1 for a few minutes working out the numbers. All good in the long run. Tftc
#2905 (4 of 5 today) (Streak day 321)
Today was dinner with friends down in the Shire. Good food and wine - and a few caches beforehand. Wins all round.
Then afterwards I decided to go home the long way via two previous DNFs. Got both - darkness is my friend!
My roundabout way home got me to a RBT location, but as we drink early and not too heavily, no problems. Drink responsibly people.
All up, made five finds out of five attempts - HUZZAH!
###END OF CUT AND PASTE SECTION###
OK, noticed the recent find and so decided to have another go at it. Decided a night raid might be better as the residents might all be out.
But on arrival in a very dark park I did one critical thing. I rechecked my previous calculations. Oops. Made a simple but stupid mistake. So that puts GZ...
OK, so in this spot there is still the smell but vastly less of the issues that worried me last time. Ignore my previous log in that regard.
Quick find here, even by geotorchlight.
Completed signing duties and replaced, then time to get back to *The Hademobile*. And what do I spy on the dark path at 10:45? There is a muggle walking 5 dogs. Bit late, but fits the cache theme.
Time for home.

The geofamily and I were having an Easter Sunday picnic in this park, and we decided to have a look for this cache. Everyone loved it, however the final cache is a bit tricky to get to because of overgrown vegetation, so keep that in mind if you're looking for it. However there were no bats around today TFTC!
Was only looking for one cache today, so decided to make it a multi. Decided to head east as there are a few over near Gladesville, good thing too as it turned out.
Found the waypoints and made the calculations without any trouble, but that gave me GZ of...
Oh dear.
Searching for this would have disturbed part of the flying fox colony here, not to mention putting me right underneath them.
Decided not to look for the container as a result.
Perhaps the CO could reconsider the placement here.

TFTC Thank you for going to the effort of hiding this cache. You have shown us a new place and have helped make geocaching an enjoyable activity.
Found at 1:19pm on a very hot but pleasant Sunday afternoon. This one I had looked at on the map a couple of times but it never really jumped out at me, today I figured was a perfect day for giving it a go, especially after already completing a multi not far from here in 'Hidden History 3 - Bedlam'.
I began my calculations at WP1 and these were very straightforward, off to WP2 which was also a breeze. Here I encountered a couple of lizards rustling about in the leaves below. The surprise came at GZ where I was about to go in for the find and was disturbed by a loud high-pitched collective squawk of some nearby bats. There must have been about 100 of them congregated around the one tree just a stone-throw away from where I was standing.
Interesting to see them during the day, they are such unique creatures, I wonder how they go seeing the world upside down, they probably suffer from really bad head rushes
I came up with CIH once I found a likely hiding place, signed log and continued on my merry way. Thanks for the easy but enjoyable multi-cache tronador.

Nice hide, enjoyed by the whole family, including the geo-pup. Beautiful day for it too!
It was a beautiful morning for a walk so I drove down to attempt this multi which I have been meaning to do for a while.
I lived in Gladesville many years ago, and attended a local high school, but I think those ancient days pre-date the development of this pleasant parkland as I don’t remember ever exploring it.
Thanks tronador.

Came here a few weeks ago to collect the WP info. Geodog and I enjoyed the walk so I decided to leave the cache for another day.
Today being a beautiful sunny Good Friday and a calendar date which needed a cache was the day.
Found the cache easily. Lots of grey headed flying foxes were around today. Last time they were further into the bush on the other side of the creek. Lots of other pooches were enjoying the walk too - its a great walk!
TFTC and showing us this great walk.

Geocache # 955.
Found on Friday, 8th November 2013 at 5:50 PM.
Conditions: sunny.
Current streak # 100 days!!
Today's finds 1 of 1.
To end the working week and to keep my current streak alive, I headed out in the late afternoon to tackle this multi-cache, which has been on my radar for some time. Riverglade Reserve is a really nice spot and worth a visit. I tried not to disturb all of the ducks while making my way through the waypoints. It was a relatively quick find but most enjoyable nonetheless. I soon had the CIH and signed the log before returning the cache and its cammo to its original hiding spot. TFTMC tronador.

2/08/13. 8:03 AM. Cache #796. Current streak: 327 days. A pleasant stroll along the Tarban Creek walk to get this multi. I made a miscalculation based on the birds name. (It has a two-word name with x letters in the first word and y in the second. I was adding x + y to S & E. But x is tens and y is ones, so you have to add 10x + y to S & E. Thats what "separately" meant.). After walking to the wrong location, recalculating, and coming back, it was a short hop with the final sums to the cache. Signed the log and chuckled at the ongoing debate about what constitutes an animal (yes, more than just mammals!). Enjoyed this one, cheers tronador. }:)
Didn't bring my dog - it's a long way and she's getting on a bit. I had been out a long time and it was starting to get dark. At WP1 I thought I got the required info, but WP2 made no sense. Having now checked the logs, I have a good idea what I did wrong. However, as the light was going and I had another hour or more to get home, I quit. I'll be back.
Gorgeous sunny Sunday afternoon. Made our way to WP1 easily enough but went astray when we only counted one bird. Took a nice walk down along Tarban Creek. We stuck out because we didn't have a dog with us! Had a pretty good idea of where WP2 was so went there, did the calcs and proceeded to GZ. And there it was! We did return to WP1 to check - yep, count them all! Thanks for bringing us here. SL TFTC Cheers... Gaztek
With all the rain about what better time to do a multi? This one is a little out of my normal haunts but I'm making an effort to clear north of the river and multis need more friends. The phone navigator took me to some new estate where I couldn't park so I went along to a driveway that led to the UNSW Rowing Club and parked there. Enjoyed a nice walk to WP1 when I realised I'd left my real GPSr in the car. Managed to finally work out how to do waypoints on the phone and set off to WP2. From there it wasn't too far to GZ where I made a quick find. Had to do up my shoe as someone strolled past with their hound.
Signed the log and I noted that the last finder (who I don't think logged online) had a go at WP2 saying the creatures were not 'animals'. I had to disagree - some people think animal is another word for mammal but if it's not a plant, fungus or micro-organism it's pretty much an animal!
Thanks!

I literally walk by here all the time prior to being a geocaches, have had this one in mind for a while just had to get my lazy butt moving! Tftc, sl this is cache 83 for me and second find for the day.
I was working nearby today and luckily finished early and had time to do this before heading home. Thanks for showing me this area.
Parked search vehicle and with evidence there was a large downpour during the night, Pray I hope Tronador doesn't make me crawl anywhere here. Nice easy stroll to plaque where maths was calculated (more than 1 bird on plaque mind you). Worked out all sums for all birds then off we went. Some had me in strange place, but soon had calculations for a tricky multi. Off to cache and found cache. In all 30mins spent with most at the animal waypoint. Thanks Tronador. SL TNLN
A lovely, straightforward multi that was completed in less than ten minutes. Thanks Tronador.
Wasn't sure whether to use the latin name, english name or both, any way found what I thought was wp 2 did a quick calculation and when I found GZ the hint matched up so made a quick find. Traded TBs - took cow and put in monkey to keep the animal theme. TFTC
Very pleasant walk. Another interesting place near where we live. Thanks for taking us here!
The geopooch really liked this one. Walke din from about 2km away and then off leash time but she found a pond that was a bit deeper than she expected so total wet and muddy hound.

Only a week ago, I came past, parked, walked to WP1 and checked the clues! Then, my GPSr froze, and even restarting wouldn't get back to the description, so I couldn't continue.
Today, GPSr was working, so I parked, walked over to WP1 and took down the details and made the calculations. Walked to WP2, with a nice old muggle couple standing there. Smiled, did a quick scan for clues and walked off. When I reread the description, realised I had got the wrong info, but seemed to have a photographic memory today and plucked a number out of my head. Made the next calcs, and then was able to verify as the couple had moved on.
Got to GZ for a very easy find. Cache is great condition. SL. TN, dropped off 2 TB's to move on and replaced cache again. Nice day and nice multi tronador, TFTC.

The name of the bird had us worried for a while. Were we meant to use the common name or the latin name. We guessed right and did the short stroll back to WP2.
Dialled in the number of animals and after a short stroll quickly realised where GZ would be hidden. Thanks Tronador a nice simple little multi that didn't tax the brain or the body too much.
Will have to return to explore the area more.

managed to park at the right point, so easy to get to wp1 - though I made working out the 2-digit number harder than it needed to be, then added instead of subtracting at WP2.
The grafitti has been rubbed off enough to see the critters too.
Found easily once I did the right type of maths.
Thanks, an interesting spot.

Beauty big park area - enjoyed wander - had to be quick before the rain come..... Thanks Sevabo for showed me. No swap. SL. Thanks tronador for organising the simple multi. - enjoyed myself. Again thanks.
Depending on where you park the car, this could be more challenging that it need to be. We parked at Richmond Street, walked down beside the wall and jumped over the marshy grounds and found an easy way to cross the water. From there it was an easy go until we had the cache in our hands. Took TB Ferdinand the flyer and left a puzzle.
TFTH - a great park.
This cache took as much longer than it should have. As was my habit today, I muddled up the coords for WP1 and WP2 and ending up walking right to the other end of the park searching for WP2, when the second sign was just there!
I was much more careful for GZ, and quickly found the container.
Dropped in Fernando, the flying TB, as I trust he will enjoy hanging with some fellow water fowl. Grabbed Hot Air Power TB (it wasn't logged as being here!).
Took a pencil sharpener and left a pen for the log book.
(PS, WP2 has suffered from some graffiti but if you look closely, and think about what you see you can get the right answer for the clue. However, tronador, you might like to give people a hint until the sign gets cleaned up.)

Found it pretty much by chance then skill. Waypoint 1 was a little bit unclear on which bird name and whether to add numbers to both or one co ord but got there in the end. nice walk. thx. took robot. left magnifying glass.
TFTC Tronador. Lots of muggles around walking their dogs, but managed to nip in and retrieve the cache. Left a 4 Elements Geocoin that I picked up at Ayers Rock last week.
Easy multi. Third for the day after periodically and Mt. Rozelle. Thanks for the dose of farmers friend! TFTC

Another multi cache done and we were happy it was an easy find. It was a sunny Sunday afternoon, with quite a few muggles walking their dogs. With a little bit of patients we managed to find the cache and write in the log. Great location.
Since this hasn't been logged since January when we had the final coordinates we weren't sure we would be able to find the cache. Quite a few weeds and bush was in the way but had a look around and there it was. Thanks!

Somehow, I found nothing at WP1 coordinates, so just tried to bike all over and found the plaque with the bird at S33 50,211 E151 08,160...
The rest worked out well.
Beautiful park, thanks for bringing me here.
Done during the biking trip Balmain - Huntleys point.

Having hidden our first GC cache in nearly 18 months, we ventured over to this one nearby. Ah the memories! As we recall we found quite a large ...
When we approached the first waypoint, we realised after 10 minutes of wandering around that we had the old description. This was quickly taken care of (thank you mobile.geocaching.com.au) and the cache was quickly found. No large you-know-whats this time.

The sign has been muggled. First muggled trees now this. The council has really renovated this park. I will rework this. Wpt 2 is good and in place and the cache is still well hidden and good to go.
Should be back up real soon.
Should be back up real soon.
Wpt 1 has been moved. The required info updated, So it's all good to go. The original sign is no more so I've used a different one.
No sign of a sign at WP1.
At the suspected location, there were some indications of something possibly having been there.
Maybe the sign has resigned?

Good short walk indeed surrounded by lots of puppies and strangely enough ducks... Found the WP's and GZ no fuss. Nice area and TFTC!

Enjoyed this early morning walk in the park. Retreived Lamo TB and left a gift. No sign of the other TB's that are recorded as being in the cache
Great little adventure around this peaceful park.
My first multicache, and very enjoyable.
I found it in the pouring rain with our team of four.
Note: all the trackable items that were said to be here were missing (except abdominally challenged TB)
Took: abdominally challenged TB
Left: Lamo TB

Visiting Sydney for a few days, geo-hounds and all, it would have been rude not to come and check this one out.
Thanks again for setting it up Tronador
Dropped off the butterfly TB
