I am regretfully archiving this cache since there's been no response from, nor action by the cache owner daznkez within the time frame requested in the last reviewer note.
Unfortunately due to recent bushfires in the Huon valley this cache has been removed until the walking track area is re opened. Hopefully in the not too distant future with better rodent proofing.
Loved this area. This forest feels ancient. After a bit of searching and the use of the hint, Mrs SudsyNZ came up with the cache. Agree with previous logs that the cache needs some TLC. TFTC
Found, but in very poor condition - saturated and partially eaten. Another spectacular spot! TFTC
Came for a drive out here stopping at interesting lookouts and walks. I loved the short walk here in the forest, which was made better by finding a cache on our way.
The log book was wet and had been eaten by some forest creature, along with the bag it was in and the container, so nothing is waterproof any more.
Managed to stamp the log but that was about all. This cache really needs some TLC.
Thanks for the cache and for bringing us here.

Oops found in the snow about 2 months ago & just realised I didn't log it. Love stopping for soup & damper on a campfire here after a play up top in the snow!
Found it. In desperate need of maintenance. Something has chewed it and it’s wet
Took a while but found it in the end. GPS showed 9 off GZ. Cache needs replacing ( soaking wet and rodent chewed, both the cache and log books) . TFTC

I rolled into the picinic grounds nice and early this morning
And enjoyed waking up all the cheapskate back packers who have taken this place over
Out of their gaze I wandered the trail,
and found a wonderland of mossy greenery
Somewhere among the mossiness,
I tracked down this little cache [^]

Found it. Needs a new fairly large container (3-4 ltr) This one has been gnawed at by a "Tasmania Devil" .
Cheers & tftc.

Thanks. Found with ease according to the hint. GPS showed 12mt out. Signed and returned.
Masses of muggles camped nearby but they didn't worry me as I went for a walk along the path. There are masses of ancient manferns and even more graves of old trees. I had actually given up and was returning to Pa waiting patiently in the car, when I spotted this one. Once signing duties were completed I returned the cache to its hidey hole. TFTC daznkez TNLN
Found at 5.22pm whilst camped nearby, a lovely piece of rainforest and ferns. GPS was out under the canopy but the hint guided me to the correct location.

Quite day, rain threatening probably keeping the muggles away! TNLN TFTC. Beautiful little walk.
Great hide took a while gps out by 10 metres. Wet today and overcast possible affect it?
Found it eventually however gps was out maybe because it was overcast and raining.
When I went to search for this cache I realised I had previously found it on the 18th oct 2014 with vancatmeow. I was new to geocaching then and obviously forgot to log!
Fabulous part of the world!! We love coming here to venture in one of the most beautiful parts of Tassie!
Integrity of container has been compromised - no longer waterproof. Contents very damp.
Got this one on the way out. Another lovely spot and amazing size stumps and trees, and ferns.
The cache container is cracked and the contents are a bit wet but otherwise all good.
Thanks

What a magical place.
Took some time to explore the walking track before locating the cache.

What a magnificent walk - & just the right distance too after rather over-exerting ourselves yesterday on the south coast track. Some real giants have fallen here which begs the question: do they make a noise when they fall if there's no-one there to hear them? Thanks daznkez.
Found this eventually after mistaken the hint for another and no iPhone reception.
Cache contents a little damp but still serviceable TFTC

Firstly, apologies for the extremely late logging of this cache. 'Things' just got in the way, and this great trip to Tassie has had to wait.
Shelley0 and I had a great week here on the Apple Isle, and this was yet another highlight of our trip.
A great little walk here, and the ferns are truly magnificent.
Container looked a little chewed from some little marsupial, but all good inside
Thanks for sharing daznkez

Found using clues as GPS was only a general area help.

The weather was looking good and a walk to Hartz Peak sounded nice and the day turned out to be delightful and calm. Once we had decided on the venue, it sudden thought sprung to mind that maybe there were some geocaches in the area and a check on the web revealed several, so this was a bonus.
One side of the car park at the end of the Hartz road was almost full suggesting that there would be quite a few out walking to the peak. It was only a few hundred metres along the track that the first returning walker was passed and this continued at intervals with the last just leaving as we reached the top. We weren’t alone for long though as several others soon arrived.
On the drive back we noticed a large number of people in the street at Franklin and when we got closer realised that many of them were dressed up for Halloween; it seems this event has become popular in some locations. In Tasmania.

Signed girls log, left boys toy. Cache broken and bag has been broken too. Logs damp. But still ok. Lovely walk with the Geokids. Tftc
We loved this little walk, one child described it as like a playground. Was so fascinated by looking around nearly walked past cache location. Oldest child laid their hands on it pretty quickly. Cache is getting fairly damp inside. Tftc.
Here I had a short stop after hiking in the hartz mountains.
I need a little bit to find this container but now my name is in the logbook.
Thank you for the cache, Jobsti.

We planned on having our lunch here but there was too many wasps. They stayed clear of the bush though, just hung around the picnic ground like a flock of seagulls. We enjoyed the 10 min walk, made a bit more exciting by a fallen tree over the track. As I found the cache it was definitely Boys Toys today. The girls (3 of them) were looking in the wrong place. TFTC
Wow what a beauty that would have been in it's prime; SL, picked up a traveller,TFTC
We were muggled out last time past here. Today it was a bit quieter. Very pleasant wander along the track, let the GPS settle, return the 17 mts it now says we have covered past the cache. A good find.
Great area for a break.

In Tassie for 30 hours for a family event and couldn't resist nipping out for a quick cache.
Left the Cowie TB. Took nothing.

This was day 60 of our trip out of Sydney to visit the southern states of Victoria and Tasmania and was day 18 of the Tasmanian part.
This was a not as quick as some to find as the GPS does not really like forest trees. However, using a bit of observation and some geo sense we made the find. After both the logs had been signed the cache was replaced as found. Thank you for bringing us here to this area and thank you for placing this cache for us and others to find. We are really enjoying our tour of Tassie and the variety of caches to be found as well.

There were three tents set up in this area when we arrived - seems a popular camping spot. It took a few minutes to locate the cache as our GPS units were quite erratic under the heavy foliage. After a few minutes of searching locations consistent with the hint, the cache was located, As mentioned in previous logs, the cache container had been attacked by an animal but the contents were still in good condition. Thanks daznkez for the cache and for bringing us to this lovely area.
Despite a huge hole having been eaten in the side of the container, the contents are relatively dry. There was a Needs Maintenance call logged over twelve months ago. Does not appear to have been actioned yet.
Moved on from Huonville this morning, left the geo van in Geeveston, planning a drive out to the Tahune Airwalk. Little did we know that our brakes would play up, and that we would have to turn around - perhaps we will to the airwalk tomorrow. In the meantime.....
we had to stop somewhere for lunch, and this stop looked like a perfect spot to turn around, have a bite to eat and find a cache. All boxes ticked. Mr D signed the boy book, Mrs D signed the girl book. Left a whistle, took nothing.

Had to hunt around the area a little before we spotted the dead giant. Signed the girls log book. Took nothing. Left some owl stickers. Thanks x
A lovely walk. We felt like we were in a green giant's house. Thanks for bringing us here.
Travelling around Australia and spending a few months in Tasmania.
Staying in Geeveston for a few days. After tackling most of the caches south of Geeveston yesterday but not completing the 'list' today we returned to continue on.
Quite overcast, and a few showers which we managed to dodge, but we did see snow up at Mt Hartz.
We managed to find your cache as we travelled through the area. Lovely area but took quite a while for Mr F to find this cache and in fact almost got lost trying to take a short cut back to the car. Grrr. All safe eventually.

Needed the hint for this one as the trees caused a few difficulties with the phone. A magical walk to make the find. Thank you for bringing us here. Very pretty. TFTC
A great day caching in the Tahune area. We lost our gps signal on the track but the hint led to a quick find, especially as the cache was out in the open! The container and contents were a little worse for wear, but I'm sure this was originally a great cache for kids. We returned the cache to where we are sure it should have been. What a beautiful spot you chose to place this cache in - the picnic area by the river is excellent as is the short forest walk. Thank you very much for this cache.
Typical of a forest cache, the coordinates seemed off by a fair bit. However, the hint helped and the find was made. TFTC.
Yeah found it with two of the girls, swapped in two little animals for Dora toy and beads. The girls had a great time on the little walk doing a bit of yoga in the forest and pretending to be Gandalf (Lord of the Rings) and Ginny from Harry Potter. TFTC.
Re-found this cache today. It looks like something has been having a chew of the container. There's a big hole in one side.
Amazingly beautiful area. After ignoring the GPS and then rechecking the GPS. The spot jumped out at us. TFTC
GPS was of no use to us locating this cache today
After about a 5 minute search decided to put our caching head on and look for where we would hide a cache
Found it
Such a beautiful spot for a walk and a cache
Cache container certainly has seen better days
Log book still ok
Took our TBs along for a visit

Found on a very wet day! It is an absolutely beautiful place, thank you for bringing us to it! TFTC.
GPSr was pretty unreliable in here, ultimately found the cache more than 20m from our GZ. Container has been gnawed by a rat, could do with replacing. Found with Felix the spy and Arwen21, thanks!

Mr Beetle was just about to head back to the carpark to try to pick up some satellites when we decided just to check a few places that fitted the clue. Luckily we found the cache in the second place we looked. Signed both log books but TNLN. Thanks, a great spot to visit.
Struggled to find GZ with metres jumping all over the place. I do not know what a man fern is but pretty sure I found the bones of the dead giant. No luck though. Thanks anyway. Angus the great GeoWestie assisted by grey nomad Carer Lis Brown en route from Bundaberg Qld to Perth WA via all of Tasmania.
Found during our holiday in Australia. For us this was the southernmost geocache we had ever found. Really beautiful nature overhere! Unfortunately, we live about 16500km away from this cache ...

There were many possible hiding places that our gps thought this cache might be near, Mobutu we eventually stumbled across it in spite of the GPS . The cache is looking a little chewed or gnawed or something on one end - a most ingesting pat of cache decay! We had one boy and one girl and one frog, so signed both logbooks to be safe! Tnlnsl TFTC
Located today by JK with IH. It was an easy find once in the right spot but my GPS had me walk past the GZ by some distance and I spent a lot of time getting filthy and frustrated. Eventually I heard JK yell out to me as she located the prize. I scrambled over and signed the log.
Today had no success. Probably next time. Try to find it on our short trip to the Tahuna Air Walk. We spent beautifull two weeks in Tasmania. Today was the first rain we had. TFTC.
TFTC , third time lucky on the GPS, walked away then back in again and got it Wasn't looking forward to doing this one in the dark.
Found it in the end, gps not much help! Took slinky, left maccas toy and rubber poo & muggles card. Tftc:-)
Found with geopartner after doing some beekeeping in the area. A few muggles around but not too challenging. TFTC!
With the GPS bouncing around and so many ferns next to the "great giants" it took a little while to find but we got it in the end. TFTC
Many people were camping in the area and looking at us puzzled but found well
What a great place to stop and explore for a short while. Eventually located the cache in a magical spot. Love the undergrowth all through here. This place transports you to another time. TFTC.
Found orginally as part of phasevisitor team, now created own account, re-logging as yorkshirekiwi83.
We are visiting Tasmania from New Zealand together with Hole in One 2 from the UK. We are spending 10 days in a campervan doing a loop around the Island and picking up caches where we could. After completing the Tahune Air Walk, we made a quick stop at this picnic stop to look for this cache. It took a little bit of searching to locate this one, as the GPS was a bit bouncy under the trees and the hint could have referred to any number of spots! But we got there in the end. A nice spot here - TFTC!

We were a bit concerned when we parked, with the large number of muggles literally camped at the picnic area & leaving their stuff everywhere.
Enduring hostile looks from said muggles, we wandered through the picnic area & beyond onto the walk, leaving their glares behind us.
We got to gz ensuring they had not followed, and quickly found the cache.
Signed both logs to cover all parts of our family, took coloured stone & left eraser.
Continued the walk along to the steps to the creek, lovely.

We’d been to the Tahune air walk and were on our way back to Hobart. But I noticed a cache near the road, so we stopped. This was a really pretty area, like something from a fairy tale, or one of those calendars with impossibly beautiful locations. I loved the atmosphere created by the nearby river, and our boys loved exploring. The cache was found easily enough once we found the place that matched the clue, since the GPS had us in a few different places due to the tree cover. Thanks for bringing us to this beautiful spot.
#1552- What an amazingly beautiful and ancient looking spot. We stopped here on the way back from the Tahune Airwalk. This one had me a bit confused at first as it had two log books in it. Before I realised this though, we’d already signed the pink girls one, when I really am outnumbered 3:1 by boys. Great spot for a stop by- it gets a favourite!
Been there, seen it and found it. Didn't get the T-shirt.
But found the cache. Took some time but persistance does the job
