With Eskies5 needing a find for today it was suggested we have a look at a few local caches that may still be around. We organised to catch up early and head down to Murphys Creek to see if we could grab this one. Pulling up near GZ we thought we would have a bit of a search before finding this one. We were surprised at how out in the open this one and the great condition the log was in. Very happy to have a find here TFTC fire boy72
This was an unexpected little find. I have been trying to fill in my calendar and Kestal mentioned the possibility of an archived cache still in play so we headed down the range nice and early to check it out. I had no idea where this was located and was excited to see a quiet, little country cemetery...love them!! To be honest I was expecting a bit of a hunt and was amazed to see it just sitting there in all its glory...even more amazed to find the logbook in such good condition. Thanks for bringing us here fireboy72.
After our tour of the Murphy's Creek area we were heading up the range for some R&R in Toowoomba and stopped off for one last one.
I pulled up a bit short and walked to the cache and found that I could have made it a park and grab.
The container was covered with some old ant nesting and I was surprised to see the last log was back in July 2014 making this a contender for a forgotten cache.

We decided to visit Murphy's Creek to do a few caches around here as we had never been here before.
I still had a lot of memories in my mind of the 2011 floods and kept looking for evidence of this but all seemed serene here.
We parked nearby and soon found what we were looking for.
TNLNSL TFTC Thanks fire boy72 and Diesel48 All good with this archived cache

Out and about today to find quite a few caches today.
And then I heard that this one has been found recently by the ever watchful Captain.
With a bit more info I was off down the road. I was literally just down the road when I was told about this one. A quick find and CT has shown, it is in good condition.
Thanks for the cache.

I have a habit of looking out for archived geocaches that might still be in place. In one of my hunts, I noted and saved this one for 'when I was next in the area' and not sure if this one had been washed away in 2011. Today Fangsoki, who had previously found the geocache but had issues remembering it and I were headed to Crows Nest so cut the Toowoomba corner and headed up via Murphy's Creek.
After some unforseen but forgivable delays we pulled off the main drag and near the co-ordinates for this hide. It didn't look like the area had been flooded. However several years without being found and the lantana had taken over. I dug around in my backpack and grabbed my machete. A few swipes and I could get a lot closer to the spot where I suspected the container was hidden.
Not too sure where it might be I started fossicking about when I spied a telltale sign. More poking and what's this!? I plucked out a pretty decent condition eclipse tin. Gee, it has held up well, but I guess was mostly protected from the elements. I retired to the car to get at the logbook. Inside the geocache was in perfect condition - I was very surprised at this, but not unimpressed. I signed my name below the last finder, dated 1300 days ago. I replaced it all back as found and we wound up staying here a little bit while we sorted out where to next. A lovely spot and a lovely drive to get here. As there's been no cache to find for months, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.
I haven't found this cache. I haven't even looked for it. I am logging it as a find, so that I can remove it from the map feature and know exactly how many caches I have left that haven't been disabled. I will remove this log if/when the cache is enabled.
Due to the recent flooding through the area; I will be checking on this cache soon, and at best I think it will need replacing. hope to have it back up and ready to go soon.
Paid my respects at the Last Post today to collect TB. Left some badges in its place.
Toowoomba 10.9. A very out of the way spot here. I did not spend long here as I did not have to enter to make the retrieve. Thanks.

We are always amazed about the care that is given to these places that are a little out of the way SL TFTC

A nice little side track on our way to start a puzzle cache that runs up the Cunningham Highway.

Finally found the track down from "Off the beaten track", and it was definitely more 4WD territory than 2WD - wouldn't want to do this in the rain! Cache was found quickly then. TFTC
Found at 0800Hrs. I was the 3rd person to sign the log book today - even this early. The whole area is all nice and tidy now.

A very fast find, now that the ants nest has been removed. It would be great to see this place after a little TLC. TFTC.
What The Marble said, and we also had to avoid the thankfully not-too-curious muggles nearby. TFTC ='.'=
Found with La Kedi on our Toowoomba weekend. It was only with the help of the logs that I found it as it was almost entirely covered by the ant's nest. TFTC
This cache was fairly hard to find as an ant nesthad been built all over it and the recent rain had settled the nest and the cache had to be dug for a little, finally found it.

Logged from my phone using the Geocache Navigator by Trimble.. Out Caching with Botolar this fine afternoon. TFTC...nice clue.
I drove past this peaceful resting spot a few months ago when it wasn't so peaceful.
The whipper-snipper and mower brigade were all over the place [:o]
But today it was again a serene scene [^]
Murphys Last Post was soon found

Well where else would you need to look for the last post. Going up the range via this route was certainly more rewarding than the normal mad-house way.
Had reason to be out at night Geocaching and what a better way to start the night than visit a cemetery! I didn't inspect the graves in the dark but found the cache ok. What a lovely night it was and a great view of the big night sky with millions of stars, just before the moon came up.

Ahh Good 'ole Murphy. Anything that can go wrong - will! But not today - a quick find by the Downey Clan in one of our favourite cache destinations.

Couldn't resist going for a drive to find this one. Ended up at a lovely old cemetery full of history. TFTH.
Another First To Find for the OffroadCruisers team.
After first entering the wrong numbers in the GPS and going "for a bit of a walk" and some fruitless searching, we re-checked the coords and found ourselves back where we thought it should be and quickly had the cache in hand.
