Holidays in New Zealand! We have been looking forward to them for years. We had lots of time to prepare ourselves for a great trip. As geocachers, we also picked out a number of great caches. Armed with a "to-do list" and accidental encounters we were lucky to log many caches. Thank you for placing them and keeping the game go on!

As this cache has been out of action for too long, I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace the cache sometime in the future, just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it.

Took the kids out for a spot of geocaching. Having found this one a couple of years ago I can confirm it has been removed.
DNF.
Possible reason is tree has had some lower branches removed and maybe cache has been lost/moved.
I did find 20 cents in the gravel though!

GZ needs to be moved as this location is being used as a Toilet and is too gross and an unhealthy area for Geocachers to go searching. Perhaps it needs to be moved further down the track
The name of this one needs to be changed to "Jollie Good RESTROOM". GZ is currently being used as a Toilet and is full of nasty waste and other objects to Gross to mention. YUK!!!!!! There is no way I was going to look any further.
Hard cache tp find. Gps coordinates were all over the place. Try again next time. Paulmar74
Two attempts at searching for this with no luck. GPS not giving a clear location will hopefully try again on a fine day.
This place is gross. Too many people using the area as a restroom. We didn't find it. I was too grossed out to stay long!
At our drive to te anau we tock some caches. And this one was one of it. TFTC AN OTHER NICE DAY IN NZ WITH GREAT CACHES.
This was an excellent rest-stop with a lovely environment. The pine trees smelt lovely and it was far enough from the road so that muggles couldn't spot us. This was found with holy_grail. Thank you.
last one while on a trip this neck of the woods loved my time here tftf and happy caching
Nice find!
Today I left my family to go on a geocaching trip looping the south part of the South Island. Today's trip took me from Arrowtown down to Invercargill, with a short detour to Bluff. After arriving in Invercargill I went on a nice walk in the city to find some treasures.

The gpsr was a little out and took us to a tree that was not a pine. The hint helped and we quickly found the cache. Some amazing views as there are very few clouds.
Thanks to all the owners of the geocaches that we found today on our way from Kingston to Mossburn and Te Anau. We enjoyed our day!
TFTC and greetings from Belgium.

I considered camping here for the night but figured I still had a bit of daylight left for caching so carried on. Probably should have as it would have been a lot cheaper than Queenstown and I wouldn't have had to skip a number of caches to get there before midnight. Nice easy find. Thanks ashsal

On our way from Wanaka to Te Anau I found this cache together with Athosandros. It was a quick find.
Sorry for the late logging. But the internet connection in our motels was very bad and unstable.

Today it was time for leaving Queenstown and drive to Te Anau. We stopped several times on this very scenic way, sometimes also to find a cache . Unfortunately the rain disturbed us looking at the very scenic views.
A quick find due to the good hint .
Thanks for the cache.

Mallorcatommy and I were on our journey through the southern island of New Zealand. With the help of geocaches we came to so many beautiful places, saw breath-taking landscapes and had, all in all a very wonderful journey! Thank you to all owners for placing all those nice geocaches!
Found this cache on our way from Queenstown to Te Anau. Unfortunately we didnt have really luck on weather today so it was raining all freaking time :-/ Thanks for putting this nice cache up on this place and making us stop and recover our energy Thanks a lot and greetings from czech republic
Every day we are traveling around is same but also different. Today we had again the pleasure to visit some very beautiful spots and were also able to find nearly placed geocaches. I thank every single owner for placing it and giving us with doing this an other good reason to come here.
One quick stop to change drivers on our way towards Queenstown.

Logged together with Tarkal on our vacation trip to New Zeeland. Between looking at the great views and experience the typical NZ "things" we will manage to find some caches . This was one of them. We decided to switch drivers at this one, so we could do two things in one moment . Luckily the cache was quick to find so the mugglers, less than 10 m away, didn't noticed that I took the container. It helped also that the mugglers stood with their backs towards me . When we had signed the logg and I should return the cache it was also a quick almost "walk by" for the replacement.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
We enjoyed finding this cache. It gave PC Sniff and I an excuse to leave the Around the Mountain Cycle trail we had been following and get the benefit of a huge downhill after taking a break at the rest area. It was interesting to be able to read about the days before cars made journeys in this area so much easier. Thanks for placing the cache.

I was looking at the tree and then i saw sticks and under those was the geocache!

Found while on a short break away from Akld ... flew into Queenstown ... and heading to Invercargill for a family weekend ... thought we'd do a couple of caches on our road trip ... the 8th of 15 for the day. Quick stop at this rest area ... easy find in between the 'muggles' coming & going. TN:LN:SL. TFTC. #678 for us.
On our way (with AdvenDuo) to Queenstown and stopped for a nap. Our good fortune a geocache just a few steps away. TFTC #75
One of many caches found during our month long tour around the South and North Islands. I am on rations for caching but finding around 10 a day.
Thanks to all the cache hiders.

We were looking forward to this trip to New Zealand.
After hours of flight from Belgium we finally arrived, picked up our Road Trip Special and started going.
First we organised a little event to meet the locals. It was a blast and we've met some nice people!
After that we did a whole tour around the South Island in 3 weeks, sleeping in the car or our tent.
It was great!
Jollie good rest for us as well. We stopped here and slept here in our car. Found the cache the next day. Thanks!
TFTC!

Just back home in UK from trip to NZ so now able to log our finds. Found this during a coffee stop on our way to Queenstown. The cache was in the open on the ground so we hid it back where we thought it should have been. TFTC
Nice place to stop for a wander round and stretch the legs, found the cache too. TFTC
We found it on a nice sunny day on our way from Queenstown to Te Anau. Quick park and grab. Greetings from Germany and TFTC.
With Ostara74 in Australia for a while we had our annual holiday a bit closer to my home this year heading over the ditch to the land of the long white cloud for a few weeks exploring and of course hunting caches. We had a brilliant time visiting the many amazing sites New Zealand has to offer and finding heaps of awesome caches. We managed to squeeze in a road trip around the bottom of the south island, then a short week in Queenstown (even got two days skiing) and then a week relaxing north of Auckland with family and friends. This was cache find number 34 of 60. Thanks for the cache, Ashsal.
I found this cache together with Pathfinder24.
This is my second visit to New Zealand but the first time caching. In addition to enjoying the beautiful scenery we spent some time locating caches during our 3 weeks of holiday.
After a week on the North Island, Pathfinder24 and I arrived on the South Island for a week’s stay here. We enjoyed some great days in Queenstown, Te Anau and Milford Sounds.
Today we headed for Te Anau in the rain and found some caches on our way. The cache was located after a short search. We signed the log and put the cache back in its place before we were on our way again.
Thanks for the cache Ashsal!
