Like others, I didnt solve this. I got as far as cube building and thats pretty well where it ended. Not a clue what to do here. However, I had a good idea of the general location and a denied multi final pretty well clenched it. For the last couple of months, Ive made several trips to where I was sure it would be. I was making methodical searches of everything in sight in square sections. After doing this twice I decided to message a few previous finders. One got back to me and confirmed I was in the correct place. They provided the exact coords, which were only 23m out from my estimated coords, and the checker gave the tick. I always had a feeling the massive construction project nearby swallowed the cache and sure enough the coords go right up to the semi-permanent wall. I hope Im wrong about this and somebody else can find it. But near as I can tell, the GZ provided by the checker coords are now the edge of some serious earthworks.

I usually know where to go - towards a geocache! I have been planning my trips around caches for some time, but I still find time to read some stuff... Needed some help with this puzzle as it contains too many words and too few numbers lol! I found myself going where I needed to go this morning, so time to locate the final. I am not sure if I took the right approach to gz, and after a bit of circling, I was at a very likely object, and yay! TFTC!!

It was clear from the start the sort of place you'd end up after solving this puzzle. Just a shame my cube building was not up to the task. I had a couple of ideas where to look and a conversation at last night's catch up helped narrow it down. Arrived at an admittedly large GZ in the drizzle (streaking sucks on days like this) and turned the wrong way at first. Had a brief hunt near a "landmark" previously mentioned but it just didn't feel right. Continued along the path and saw a similar "landmark" with much more likely hide spots. After about 5 minutes searching I actually came up with the goods! It's a lot harder without coords or a hint!

I will confess here and now that this puzzle is way beyond my capabilities. I have always had a feeling, however, about where the cache would probably be hidden. After reading 2wombles log I thought I would have a look in that place. After initially searching in the wrong spot, I spied another potential hiding place and then the cache was a quick find! TFTC.

Looked at this puzzle very intently when first published over 8 years ago ! Made up the lovely dicey dies Twisted using wooden blocks from our son's walking trainer that had been doing the rounds on decades of longterm loan around family & friends' toddlers & finally found iits way back to us - Can't beat quality handcrafted wooden toys. Over the (eight) years would get fired up again, picked them up to have another jjiggle, juggle, google, bamboozle & then back into the back burner as theories & strategies cooled off. After the earthquake years, blocks went astray, good excuse to put any ideas to rest - RIP and a long cooling period of several years. Red FaceSad

And so it came to pass, with head out of the sand - signs of hope appeared in thin air that could possibly guide us to the promise land. Had the mettle to go a few more rounds in, out and all around the blocks, the devil is in the details and it was fairly elementary where to go. RV took a more circuitous route to GZ but LV was within one cubit (kid you not !) of where to go for the elusive cache ! Aha, thought it ambitious to have two logbooks in this particular cache until I saw one was a replacement by SB back in 2013. La Vista 11th finder in 8 .5 years , 4th finder in last 4 years! & happy to report that cache is safe & dry. Amen.Big Grin

Well, as with all finders there were many cubes that did not make much sense to me. The recent find by 2 Wombles and the other clue in the description pushed KM and I to head back for another look in a place we had been before, and today it was a smiley face that greeted us.

Thanks Sevren for the head scratcher of a puzzle.

There were once many cubes made and many permutations of the possibilities. Then it went onto the back burner for a year or 5. Then more cubes, more puzzlement, more head scratching a few months ago as it was near the top of the unsolved puzzle list. I knew roughly, like it says in the description, where I should be looking and had it narrowed down to one location. A few "roundabout routes" of recent (my sometimes used method of solving some more troublesome puzzles) and then again today in light of 2wombles find (it does still exist) and there it was. Now that's my second closest puzzle off the list, back to solving the last Metal Mania... Cheers

This puzzle has been a work in progress for a long time. Multiple sets of cubes created, then thrown out in frustration! Made little process with this puzzle for quick a while, but got some small tips from a previous finder which allowed me to progress a bit further along in the solving. Came back to the puzzle in fits and starts over the last couple of years, with bit of hints gleemed from conversations with a previous finder. Eventually, I got to the stage where I had some good looking coordinates, which were confirmed by the geochecker!

Got to GZ today, and things didn't look good. There had been some earthworks in the area but thankfully the cache was not affected by them. Cache was in great condition seeing it hasn't been found in 3.5 years.

Thanks for the puzzle, and the cache.

This is a puzzle that early on when I started geocaching I identified ss being an interesting solve. Some time ago I was at an event when the CO was discussing this cache with another cacher. I didnt want any hints so left the conversation and are now very pleased to have solved this unaided and found it a most interesting cache. Took me a few evenings to complete. One to make some cubes up, one spent researching symbols and names and after a small mess around one night i quickly solved it the following evening.
One of 15 caches collected tonight with SurveyBase although he already had this one.
Thanks for the quality puzzle and cache.

Woo hoo, that's the last puzzle within 80kms from home solved!!! Until the next one comes up [xx(]RazzRazz
Well, it took a lot to finally get the smilie for this one. I started looking at this early on in my career and failed. I ended up at places that I didn't want to be. I went down a tangent that put me off for a bit. I had a chat with another cacher and they said that wiki was all I needed. So with that I started looking at the underworlds again. Hmm, the seasons and elements were interesting and how they can work with and oppose each other. I had all the information and wasn't too sure on two items. Oh well, so now what. Blimey, that turns my head inside out one of those hyper doo dads. I stumbled onto something useful and got my pen, cardboard, sticky tape and bamboo kebab sticks out!!! I carefully copied the die (hmm is that a pun Big Grin) and went to work. Hmm, yes, I see that going there and ... hmm, I must be wrong here. I contacted CO and waited for a reply, I figured out something I had done wrong and was starting to see something emerege. CO got back to me and said I had my wires crossed on two items. Once that was sorted the coords emerged and one green tick later I sighed. Wow, what a mind bender, great puzzle and loved the last bit of the puzzle to get the coords. Great work Sevren in constructing this puzzle.
I headed out today with cachelet #2 and we made the find at a suitable location. I wondered why there was two log books and I spotted the last CO comment. I can't believe that we were the 6th to find.
This gets a favourite from me. Interesting research once I was on the right track. The puzzle itself was 'out of this dimension'!!!

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust... I can finally put this one to rest CoolBig GrinWinkCoolBig GrinWink[^][^][^]

Thanks for the mind bender cache.

This hard puzzle caught our attention quite a while ago, and we spent some time puzzling over it but making no headway. Early this year we took another look at it before a planned trip in February, and slowly began to solve some of the layers. Bit by bit we put it all together, and were very excited to finally get a likely-looking co-ordinate. After our February trip was cancelled we had to wait until today to make the find. The find was almost as hard as the puzzle! With 7 months since the last find it took quite a bit of searching before we found the very well-hidden cache, but we were determined not to leave without it.
Thanks for this challenging and epic puzzle with a very satisfying solve. Definitely one for the favourites list. Now we know Where We Go - to find the cache at least.

What a cool; interesting puzzle! 2nd to find and 3rd to solve; not bad. Started working on it a couple days
ago. Information was quickly found - but as with SW & T, what to do with it? But aha, a bit more of a
search found the key. The hardest bit was teasing out the co-ordinates....had what I thought was a
winner (goggle maps had me in a likely space)...but geochecker disagreed. Tried several more
combinations throughout today.....and then had an epiphany; a 'duh' moment. An all-encompassing
thought. And bingo, success. Detoured slightly on the way home form work to collect. Nice hide.
A wee bit of moisture inside cache (not surprising given it hasn't seen the light of day in over a year!).
Dried it out. Took nothing but left a lanyard - hopefully it won't be another year before its logged again?!
Thanks for the effort in designing the puzzle and placing it. Most interesting & informative!....cheers.

Hope all is well with you and yours following last week's earthquake.
We had bookings for a long caching weekend in Christchurch (24 -28 Feb), but obviously these plans had to be cancelled.
We were delighted to have solved this challenging puzzle recently. We had hoped to make this cache our 3000th find, and it would have been one of the highlights of our trip.
We hope to be back some time in the near future when visitors can make a positive contribution to the recovery.

Been far too long for another find and I have been a bit cold on caching in the past year but getting the bug back. Added another clue.

Congratulations to the Awesome pair of di(c)e-hard cachers! Been away for a few weeks & couldn't believe it took so long for FTF! I think my dices look better - made them from my kids old wooden blocks months ago -but haven't gone far with them, just tossed them in a bag somewhere & no dice, haven't come up with anywhere to go yet.

#941 (FTF 29, 1/2 on a Friday evening). I'm usually pretty keen on puzzles, but this one took me quite some time to get in to (maybe some ritalin would have helped). Troodles made her paper covered duplo dice some weeks back, and they are looking a bit tatty now. Got a bit more serious about it this week. Checked we were on the right path with the owner. Troodles found some nice pictures today, which proved to be the key. Got home feeling pretty tired at the end of a long week. Thought maybe we'd leave the solving to the morning, but then started playing with the duplo dice. Thought we had a likely solution, but no dice. Pottered a bit more, then came back to our original solution, rotated one dice by 90 degrees, and bingo. Liked the cache hide; reasonably quick find just on dark. Pleased to get finally get this one. Last weekend we had evil thoughts about starting to put new caches in cemetries SW of chch and seeing which one was turned down due to the proximity of an existing cache Smile

Good to finally knock this one off. Took a while to gather the data - the web wasn't entirely helpful with this as there was conflicting information, then there was the problem with what to do with it.
StreetWalkerNZ had an idea, which was confirmed by the cache owner as being on the right track. It did my head in, even with the aid of my trust dice, but once SW got the bit between his teeth, there was no stopping him. And once solved, we were on the road immediately.
Nicely hidden. We celebrated by having Mackers for tea!
TFTC. (PS I think Kryptos Canterbury was easier to solve than this).

Okay another clue. If anyone wants to mail me what they think I may be able to add a clue that will steer people over the hurdle that seems to be blocking progress. Elements face up Seasons down.

Okay nobody has solved in a few weeks time for a clue. I must have made a little more difficult than I intended. Extra images have been added for those that can't open the original images.

Unfortunately, this is one of those listings where clicking the thumbnail of the image simply takes you back to the cache page, not the bigger image. I don't know if this is a site issue or what, but I've noticed it for ages now, and only on some images. Sometimes an image in a cache will be fine, and another image will do this. So anyway, the thumbnails aren't good enough (for me) to work off, and the site won't show me your bigger images, so there's no possible way I could even attempt this. Thought I'd make a note of this in case I'm not the only one and it's something you can petition the GC masters to fix... Smile
