I had come to visit the *Paris: Impressions of Life* exhibition at the Bendigo Art Gallery... and decided to to a little caching afterward before heading home. The first cache I started was a Multi near the gallery which, I discovered, ended a few kilometres away. As a consequence, I was now making my way there with the occasional stop for a cache that was in the general direction that I was going... such as this one, or so I thought at the time (Google maps didn't know about the local road closure). Found with a combination of the coordinates and the directions. Thanks **379Jonti379** for putting this one together.
Tried to follow the instructions but were unable to find the grill. From there we had to follow the given coordinates to locate the cache. Remains in a very wet and green state
What I love is walking in the goldfields bush! This was a generally gentle slopes except the part between the carpark and water channel. I didnt find the grid and posts until I followed the second channel. I resorted to the direct coordinates because I couldnt find the fence post. It took a bit of bashing around before I finally found the cache hidden in a familiar way to many geocachers. Log was damp but I was able to leave my stamp. Its getting pretty full. Thanks for the rare opportunity to find a Letterbox cache close to Bendigo.
This is a new area to discover for us. Cache was well hidden, but found once our GPS stopped dancing. Thanks 379Jonti379.
Find number 12909 at 11:36:54am on Tuesday the 6 February 2024I'm off on a mini camping trip, well, for a week anyway, free camping on Majors Creek not far from Nagambie. Generally veging but doing some geocaching as well in my spare time Today I am off for a drive through Heathcote to Bendigo and then back through Tooleen and Whroo.A nice quick find after a leasurely wander through the bush.**Thanks for placing this cache 379Jonti379**---Don't miss finishing the Ballarat GeoTour before it ends on 4th March 2024. Found while driving past. Thank you for placing and maintaining this cache for our enjoyment.
Found container wet so didnt sign. Was a nice cache for a kiwi to find on holiday
Stamped as JAMS - JJ52, alllister w, mogni, sir_spectre. All of these teams are from South Australia and after some major planning we managed to find approx 700 caches while being away for a week. Also qualifiied for a variety of challenges, found LGA's and had lots of laughs. Found while attending the Victorian Mega in Rutherglen.
Thanks
Thanks
The JAMS team (JJ52 allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) were on a road trip heading to the Rutherglen Mega event (staying in Corowa) for 3 days then winding our way home via Albury, Wangaratta, Bendigo and various other places in between. It was a great week with many more caches found than we expected. There were targeted caches, challenge caches, Ad Labs, events and various others to fulfill various statistics for the four of us. We were lucky with the weather, it rained a bit on our way over on Friday, then half a day after we left Wangaratta but on the whole it was great caching weather. We did drive a few slippery muddy roads, but nothing too bad. We also caught up with lots of people either at events or out in the field and enjoyed many great chats. All in all a fun time with lots of Victoria explored and then very tired when I arrived home. [^]
Today was our last full day before heading home and we concentrated on finding caches for the Bendigo A-Z Challenge. Did lots of driving and found a few others along the way.
Thanks for the cache 379Jonti379.

Needed a find for the A - Z challenge. Also needed to get 20 finds in this LGA. quick find.
Found with JAMS (( JJ52, Allister w, Mogni, plus sir_spectre ) Mitchell&hound wasn't with us this trip) crew. All logs stamped as JAMS to save log space. This trip we are off to the Rutherglen Mega and then slowly coming back to S.A. for a total of 8 dys and 7 nights. The targets of this trip are for JJ52 to get 11 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and a few more Victorian LGA's, Allister W was targeting 17 virtuals ( or as many as he could get ) a few more Victorian LGA's Mogni to make the Rutherglen Mega her 20, 000 find and also for her to complete all Victoria LGA's, sir_spectre needs 1 more multi to get to 1000 multi's and get his Victoria LGS's down to 2 LGA's left. We got 20 or more finds in a LGA if we stayed in there over night. We also detoured to stamp any challenge caches that we were " in the general area off " and to complete that challenge before we came back to S.A. This meant that some times dirt road (s) had to be walked down because they were to wet to drive down and/or haven't been repaired since last years flooding. We started off the holiday in the rain and then that cleared up only to start raining and a overnight thunder storm but most of the trip was dry. Over 600 caches found for the trip including over 120 lab stages in that total. Got to complete the GPS Maze at the Rutherglen Mega for a 2nd time. Allister w was the team driver for all of the Victorian part of the trip. I think this was the first trip ever to Victoria that the extension pole didn't get used but the 6.2 meter ladder did get a work out.

The JAMS (JJ52, allister w, mogni and sir_spectre) go mega... We came, we cached, we laughed, we hugged and we had a great time. All caches were replaced better than found. But like all good things it must come to an end and so we started our way home, it only took 5 days....

Cache not available at the moment, back burning planned in the area restricting public access.
Geo-pup was finally appeased. We hiked 13km to sign a total of 7 logbooks - 4 x trads, 2 x puzzles (that I'd actually been able to complete) + 1 x letterbox.
We had sunshine and rain, but being Scottish, it didn't dampen my enjoyment.
Having completed failed this earlier when I left the car, I returned on my way back. I'd totally missed the grill on the ground stage but kept walking to the next cache.
I started again from the water channel and soon realised my error! I'd gone down the opposite side so hadn't spotted the remains of the cattle grid. Back on track, I took a wee while to locate the cache. Unfortunately, the container was full of water that had mixed with the inkpad to make everything green! I poured off the water but came home with green fingers
Many thanks for keeping this kind of cache alive

A trip from Canberra, ACT to Whittlesea, Vic with a few side quests for LGAs. TFTC.
The cache was full of dark green water from all the stamps. Log is quite dry and usable. My fingers are all green now.

I was hesitant at first to come anywhere near One Tree Hill, given the reputation it has, but needed a letterbox for a challenge I was chasing. Quick walk and a quick find TFTC

Found and signed with dalerious on a rare mid week outing to Bendigo. We were here cleaning up some solved Mysteries on the weekend, but we needed a Letterbox for a Thursday to get us closer to meeting a challenge we are working on. It is so sweet when a calendar hole becomes free .
Another lovely walk through the bush picking out relics from our mining past. Had us looking here, there and everywhere for this one, and we were starting to get worried that it may have suffered in the last burn. No, there it is all safe and sound. Log signed and we are that much closer to qualifying for another challenge.
Thank you 379jonti379 for providing this cache .

Midweek madness with catnap777 netted us Bendigo's oldesr Letterbox Hybrid and we are both greatful and relieved.
Cat' and I followed the clues to get us quite close to GZ, but we were quickly running out of places to look once we got there. Just before hitting the panic button, cat' spotted the suspicious kind of spot we were looking for and sure enough we soon had our names in the log book of this old cache.
TFTC 379Jonti379. All good here.

In Bendigo for VICJAM and decided to pick up a couple of caches whilst in the area. Enjoyed the wandering around and was happy to have a letterbox on my list. TFTC 379 Jonti379
Had a little bit of trouble following the steps all the way to the cache so ended up resorting to the coordinates in the listing to narrow down the final few steps! Coordinates seemed to bring me close but still not to the cache so got back on the track and the final step soon revealed itself and took me too the cache.... phew! Bit of a mission but glad to have it signed! Thanks for the fun
First time out without cousins during lockdown doing something treasure hunting. Got lost, looking over a large area but we got there!
First night caching, first letterbox, not the first time wandering in circles but finally found it
After a mis-turn(my fault) we stumbled onto GZ, had to guess meterage with footsteps putting me out for a bit, but then struck gold, Thanks for my first letterbox Garth/Jasper
Stumbled around GZ before the aha moment! Had a bit of an adventure here because I too cannot read the cache page properly!

I needed an event for December to help with a challenge I am working on and the only one in Melbourne was the 31st while I was working so one in Bendigo was the only one and only a 2 hour drive each way. So that was the goal of the day.
After the event I headed to find a few puzzles I had solved plus I'm always on the lookout for letterboxes.
I followed the instructions and after a short walk I had the cache in hand.
Thanks 379Jonti379 for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

TFTC.we had been out in the forest outside of Huntly to find the Milestone series and some of the Smilie face geo-art. We had calculated the final for the Lonely tree multi to find the road on this side. Never mind there is a letterbox cage close by,so we did that instead.
I stopped in Bendigo overnight on my way to the Mega in St Arnaud. Whilst in town, I made the most of the opportunity to do some caching in a new area. This one wasn't actually on the radar but having parked next to the posted coordinates on an attempt of another cache, I decided to have a look. Only went wrong on one bit, as I didn't read the cache page properly. Once I realised I was able to make the find. Numerous trackables visited. TFTC!
Had this cache on our list for today and it certainly didn’t disappoint! Started at gz and made our way up the paths following the instructions to the cache! A couple of times we went the wrong way but we knew that if we read ahead in the description we knew we had taken the wrong track. Managed to make the find straight away when we were on the last step, cache in good order! Thanks for the cache thoroughly enjoyed it!

Out and about on my postie bike. It has been many years since I have been here. Lucky the postie bike could sneak up, and stop at this letterbox for some mail. Dodged a muggle who stopped for a chat. A quick find.

There are brand new NBN pits that have been put in about a metre from our GZ so not sure if this one is still available.
Oh, there are just so many caches in the Bendigo area that is hard to know where to start. So we decided to concentrate mostly on letter boxes, puzzles and challenges with a few others thrown into the mix.
It was a beautiful day to be out caching and each cache found had our name added to the list of finders.
Our thanks go to 379Jonti379 for this cache placement.

Ms FV attending conference in Bendigo and taken the opportunity to grab some smilie faces.
We have only a few Letterbox smilies so discovering one in Bendigo we had to get another smilie. We never needed the emergency/alternative method to grab the smilie.

Thank you for the adventure today, we both really enjoyed this cache. We were escorted part of the way by a watchful kangaroo, he wasn’t offering up any info on the cache though, and soon hopped off into the bush again. Luckily the great directions had us at GZ in no time, a short search was undertaken before setting eye on the cache. SL TFTC
An adventure day out was planned with DAB after solving plenty of caches up Bendigo way. It was a fresh day out with the temp not going over 13 deg while we were here. We were surprised to see a closed gate on the road but it didn't stop us parking here and walking in. Some weird bent trees in this location as we walked closer to the cache and see some of the history here. A quick find once at our corrected co-ords

With a day off work, I joined Na'wal for a day of geocaching. With an early morning start, it was a chilly start to the day. The temperature hovered around 11 degrees for most of the day. We had a few periods of light rain, but it didn't dampen our spirits. A good mix of cache types and hides were our reward for the day.
Another pleasant walk here, with some very odd angled trees !! Had no trouble finding this one. Thanks for the letterbox hide !! TFTC 379Jonti379

Last find of the day and nice to get a letterbox cache to end the day. Followed my way to GZ and a fairly quick find once there. TFTC.
I messed up and logged this one yesterday by mistake. What better way to correct that than to go and find it, so we did.
I read out the instructions and we let the kids lead us around. They did a great job and little Miss E found the cache.
I do like these real form of letter box rather than a traditional with a stamp. The girls want to do one at home which is great.
Thanks again 379Jonti379

Up from Melbourne, for a day of caching with the family in the Heathcote and Bendigo areas with the aim to do an earthcache, a few letter boxes, collect some challenge caches and do some trads.
It was a lovely sunny day for caching - not too hot, not too cool - just nice and bright.
We had a great day and discovered some new places - beautiful bush and some historic places.
All in all it was one of those great days caching out and about with the fam.
This was our 21st cache for the day
Thanks for contributing to our fun, 379Jonti379, with this letterbox cache.
We stamped our letter box notebook with your stamp and stamped your log with our stamp.

n0w0rries and I were originally going to attempt all 3 letterboxes in Bendigo but didn't get the chance as we cached our way back to Melbourne from Wedderburn. There were some FTFs in the offing and n0w0rries was keen to perhaps try his luck....
The instructions worked perfectly, however it did take us a few minutes to zero in on the hide. Thanks for the fun, 379Jonti379.

Caching with leafotwind after the Wedderburn event today and picking up a few in the Bendigo area on our way home.
We used the traditional letterboxing method to get to GZ.We then used lots of time to finally make the find.

Step 6 confused us a bit, as the stream had dried up and we weren't sure where we start counting our 17 metres from. We decided to wing it, and ended up at the very last step, looking down, and VOILA, there it was!!
Another good find while exploring the area.
Thanks for making my drive / walk fun!
Always like finding letterbox caches.

Nice hide, thanks. It is definitely about 4 metres from point on the track near the fence post but not necessarily 4 metres from the track.
In Bendigo for a couple of events, we didn't get a lot of caching done thanks to the terrible weather and headed to my friend house instead. As soon as I arrived, my 5 year old god-son nagged for me to take him caching so out we headed for a couple more.
A nice walk in to this one and a quick find by the 5yr old who was rather proud of himself.

Being my first letterbox hybrid, I wasn't really sure what to expect when I set out on this journey. I followed each of the directions without any problem and was only surprised by how short the distance was between each step. The cache was found without a problem, then signed and stamped. I now have green fingertips but that's only a small price to pay for the joy of finding my first cache of this kind. Thanks for the journey and the cache 379Jonti379!
Thanks 379Jonti379 for the letterbox hybrid, it's a great place here. We wondered why it's called One Tree Hill as obviously there is more than one tree?
The Wenchette has booked a full day at the Uni Open Day and I've got a few minutes to sneak out for a couple of caches.
I've kept an eye on this cache listing for quite some time, hoping to get a chance to find the cache. Today I parked at WP1 and re-read the instructions. I plugged the GZ numbers into the gps and put it into my pocket as a backup. The instructions were loaded on the phone and off I walked. After a couple of turns I got to the leaning tree/fallen tree and it all came unstuck. There are a few leaning trees so I had to take a guess and walk on another 17 meters. I didn't see the fence post so returned to the trees for another go. This time I got to a point that seemed to match the instructions and decided it was time to check the gps. My count of 17 meters wasn't quite accurate and I was about 7m from the final point.
Thank you, Jonti, for this little adventure and for a reasonably rare cache type.

My first letter box cache! Pretty cool . Stamped log and signed. Log book needs replacing. For next finder..a great one for the kids!! Thanks again.
I have been to the start of this cache a few months ago by mistake. I was seeking another cache and found the road my GPS brought me to was closed. I did see that this cache was close by but it was getting late in the day and the light was fading. It was good to finally come back to Bendigo and allow myself proper time. I could hardly wait to follow the directions to this cache. Everything was very well done, very clear, exact and fun. It was like following a pirate's treasure map. Thank you for this letterbox cache.
Quick find. There are signs as you enter the park that there is a planned burn to take place here soon...hopefully the cage isn't affected.
Camped in Bendigo for a week, to pick up a few caches in the area.
Took a short stroll along the bike track, and soon located this well hidden cache.

Followed the steps to get to the mailbox, though I turned right at the last step instead of left after seeing what I thought were "caching trails" leading that way. Looked around a while but could not find anything, so I rechecked the description and saw my mistake in my haste. Went the other side of the trail for a quick find of the hidden cache.
Thanks Jonti for an excellent mail cache. Stamped and signed the log book.

In Bendigo for a few days to add some smileys on as many mysteries, multi's and a few traditionals. Plus a few caches needed for my A to Z challenge.
The suscoe cachers and the ageing Bushfire have the full range of caching gear with the exception of the kayaks and the wheels to get us to most locations, carrying all the technical gear you could think of.
There are so many bush tracks it is just a matter which one but we chose wisely and soon found the cache.
We had heard that some tracks were closed so on finding the gate locked we decided to wander up the hill and find this letter box. The Red Ant went into the book and we were on our way.
Thanks 379Jonti379 for placing this cache.

Well this was going to be a day out finding some of the caches that have been on the list for a while and a couple of new ones.
We were in the great company of Bushfire today as we were enjoying the delights of a late Winter visit to Bendigo
Bushfire and Suscoe wandered to the GZ and enjoyed seeing the area, some amazing things to see here.
The cache was located, log singed and on our way.
Thanks to 379Jonti379 for placing this letterbox out here.

A nice wander in the bush with a geonewbie child and we were soon at gz. Found the cache but didn't touch anything except the logbook as the entire contents was green from the ink pad. TFTC
Find No. 664 - Found at 2.25pm
A days outing to Bendigo to do some shopping and also find some caches for the 7 Souvenirs of August.
Our first letterbox cachce find. Following the trail was interesting but we were slightly disappointed with the end result of this cache.
Took butterfly - Left green car.
We have now earned our fourth souvenir for August.
