Found the 3 waypoints some time ago but, like several others, failed to find the cache. Made a note of the coords of the final, and finally got around to having another shot. Knew what to do and where to go, so was surprised when my Garmin beeped soon after I had started down the pipeline track and pointed well off to the side. Obviously I had made some sort of error when transcribing the coords but the immediate problem was, what to do now? I thought that I could find WP2 without knowing the coords, and I was right. Went straight to the spot and found the container and set off for WP3, being pretty certain that I knew what to look for there.
However, when my Garmin beeped again, I did not recognise anything from my previous visit, so I put my Katie specs on (so I could look like Katie, obviously) and soon had the container and the final coords in hand. Went back to the start to retrieve my bike, cycled down to where LVR crosses the Motorway, and immediately found a path heading in what my Garmin assured me was the right direction. Somewhat puzzled I followed it, all the time going in 'the wrong direction' and not seeing anything I recognised. By then I was beginning to think that I had made another mistake, but continued until the final beep. Decoded the hint which initially left me none the wiser, checked some of the usual suspects (poles, angles, etc) and then saw the spot. Nice hide, and likely to stay dry.
So what I thought had been a problem meant that I ended up with a find and not another DNF (Damn, No Fun!). Many thanks for another intro to a little known (and little used) track. Incidentally, I missed the turn to the bridge an the way back and came to a blockage, so you may not be able to access GZ from WP3. Worth a check.

Listed Location last night to dark did not had any light gonna try it next time I am up
I decided to head up to the reservoir for a stroll and to pick up a few cache this morning. A great multi, coords were spot on, containers all readable, and the final provided no troubles! Thanks for the adventure.
It's been well over a year since this was last found! It's a shame as this was a lovely little wander, taking just under an hour to complete (including finding another cache in the area). It was a little(?) muddy in places but as long as you wear the appropriate footwear (boots ok, gumboots better) there is no problems. Thanks Katie W for showing us a completely new track. Found with Aoraki Sheep as day 7 in 31 days of geocaching.
Co-ords for waypoints spot on and final was soon in hand, thanks to hint. Container a bit wet inside but log book is dry with it's double bags. Found with debsnz
I've been meaning to tick this box for a while, but have always sped past or got others and run out of time.
I had a couple of hours free and the forecast bad weather hadn't turned up yet so went out specifically for this one.
Not many folk around had all the low down tracks to myself, heard some talking on the upper tracks at WP1 but they didn't turn up so no probs there.
WP2 and 3 were easy finds, Co-Ords spot on for both, spent most of the journey on the trackside object as the path was muddy as in spots.
The final was well hidden and wet leaves made the search a bit messy but soon had it signed and back in it's spot. Cache dry and contents good.
Then had a slow wnader back listening to the bird calls and water trickling by.
A nice amble.

I had brain fade when I looked for the co-ord's to the first WP, so I went to where I thought it would be (with the hint) and there it was. Looked at the GPS and there was the way-point too. I am just getting the hang of these multis. Thanks.
The container had quite a bit of water in it, but the log was/is fine.

Had a grand walk up here today from home. The vegetation at the first waypoint has grown to the extent that a new hint was needed. The pipeline track is very wet and slippery at the moment. take care to wear suitable footwear.
Got to ground zero of waypoint one and looked for ages but just couldn't fine it. Used hint but still no luck. The pipeline track has had extensive clearing done recently. Is it still there? [?]
Really enjoyed another multi a few days ago so set out for this one - had a great time and thanks for taking me to places I have not been before (and probably would not venture to...)
like previous log found the three waypoints without to much trouble but after half an hour of solid looking time we were unable to locate the cache and gave up. Autumn leaves made it rather tricky but i see it hasn't been found since it was maintained . waypoints very fun and clever hides
Found the waypoints without too much trouble, but no joy with the final. Decoded the hint, but that did not help a whole bunch either. By this time it was getting late and I still had to walk all the way home so I left it for another day.
Nice new wpts in place, and cleaned up the final. I did find a dryer place for the final, but I soon discovered it had a wild bee population! So its still in the same place.
Struggled with WP1.. until I sat right next to it and then spied it.
After that it was pretty easy. WP3 has some water in the bottle. I tried my best to dry it out.
The final was an interesting location... looked around for a while before turning up the cache. thanks.

Sustained an knjury earlier in the week so didn't get back to look for this one again as quickly as I had hoped. Returned today for the short walk and to test out the legs - I was pleased to find they still worked! The GPSr didn't co-operate at GZ and with signficant leaf litter around it made searching difficult. It turned out to be a wet, muddy and long search until the GPSr finally decided to play ball and zero out on a spot. I suddenly realised that I spot I hadn't looked in, and had assumed was leaves on the ground, was in fact the hint object. Very pleased to make the find and really enjoyed all parts of this cache. Took Jean-Luc A TB for a relocation and left VW Van TB. TFTC!
Spent too long searching for Sully's cache and thought I had run out of time for this one. With 30 minutes I thought I might at least get a couple of waypoints completed. Took off at a good trot and stashed gear in a bush to travel faster. Soon found waypoint one (clever little hide) and took off again. Spent a few minutes getting wet in the grass looking for waypoint two but another easy find. Examined the time and saw that waypoint three was only 180m away so decided to go for it. GPSr went a little crazy at WP3 so ended up back tracking slightly to get it. All going smoothly so thought I would race to the final. Quite muddy along the pipe line but managed to avoid issues and keep the shoes dry. Got to GZ in good time and had just a few minutes to find the cache...but I looked...and I looked...and my time limit passed...and I looked some more. Decided I couldn't spend anymore time and sprinted off to the car at the northern end of sully's with 5 minutes to get there and still have enough time to get back to Dunedin for other appointments. Will return another day soon for another crack at this one!
I enjoyed the walk done this in the dark only way to go the mutt loved it mud and all
TFTC SL TNLN enjoyed this one over a couple of nights well done a bit muddy in places but fun following the pipe line lovely place
A nice little multi, although it didn't quite take us where we expected. Plenty of mud this way and lots of hook grass. TFTC
Great evening stroll to gather in all the WP's. A couple of fisherman chancing there luck and you could hear some shooting from the nearby rifle range. Fantails very friendly along the bush walk. TFTC

Great walk around this multi on a warm sunny day.
Got the info off the Jean Luc-A TB hiding in the cache.

Had a picnic with “Mrs Mac†and the youngest boy at the top end of the dam area, no wind and very warm today. Enjoyed the walk and finding the W/Ps and the cache.
Thanks
Thanks
This one is a lovely multi! Nice scenery, a perfect short stroll, and virtually flat as well. I hope it gets on everyone's "must do" list. The last of a morning's walk for Vicky and me, and yes, Vicky found this one as well. I'll download a map of the area so that people who haven't visited Sullivan's Dam before know where the tracks are. (Antony Hamel "Dunedin Tracks and Trails" - only about $20 - go buy your own copy and you'll have a sporting chance at katiew's next bush cache).
That was great fun! Had no idea about that pipeline running down there. All the waypoints were easy finds and it was not as muddy as the pipeline track at the other end of the reservoir! A great hour's walk.
Nicely executed cache. Thanks. A couple of the waypoints took a few minutes to find, but turned out to be in very sensible places - just non-sensible looking! Thanks for a walk in a lovely location.
Yeah! 4th in-the-dark FTF in a week (8pm). The FTF had been sitting unclaimed for a couple of days (if I'm right) so fully expected that the footprints in the mud that I was following were nofs or someone else. TFTC - the walk around the dam with the moon and stars out was definitely a highlight.
