Cache a mini FLIPPER&CO series on the way to Galga. Wonder why they tried, and still do, grow cereal crops here. Very dry this season TFTC.
Was out for the weekend grabbing a few caches along the way. This is day 2 I left Purnong where I stay for the night making my way to An event near Murray Bridge before heading home. This was cache 1 of 27 for the day.First find of the day. Out hunting down a few older caches in the area.TFTC FLIPPER&CO
A nice view of the history that remain out here, cache found and is all good
Today I set out for the full day to the Murray
plains since the flooding has occurred and the main aim to find the new fireman helmet at Sedan. A total of 95 caches found for the day.

Todays road of choice was north out of Karoonda then west, east and back to the caravan park. Yesterday we thought that we had finished all the caches here in Karoonda but after we had finished our logging up popped a letterbox that we had not downloaded to our file. This was rectified and we collected the information for the final which was quickly done and the log was signed on the way back to the caravan.
We found a sign on a road that neither of us had ever seen before it stated "Drift sand over road" and we really did need to put the car into 4WD to get us through it, this was all on a hard formed road.
All the caches that we targeted today were found and are in good condition, all log sheets/books are also good. Again more dirt and dust and flies, we believe that all Australian flies live in South Australia. There are a few less now, some have gone to fly heaven.

Today a big Jams day out was planned to collect the Around the World Series.
We were without JJ52 (rudely off on a 6 week interstate jaunt) and joined by CP Wanderer and Gizmos Gang, so we evolved into the Mystery Randoms.
Great day out collected 39 caches for the day, found lots of tricky multies, sis a fair bit of scribing and thoroughly enjoyed the company.
We had perfect Autumn caching weather. We found all caches we looked for which was even better .
Thanks to all the CO for their fun hides, next time back to finish off the pesky bike series.
Decided to do a couple of jewels on the way home. TFTC

found with allister w, Mogni and Michells&hound and all logs stamped today as Mystery Randoms to save log space. Gizmos Gang, and CP Wanderer left us at Bakara Conservation Park since they had already found the caches we wanted to target on the way home. Found after completing the Around the World in 81 caches series ( all found ). quick find.
So another JAMS weekend was planned, sadly the J was away so instead we brought along CPWanderer and Gizmos Gang to make up the numbers. Due to the change in team we cached as Mystery Randoms. Our target a series of multies and what ever else crossed our path. All of our targets were found.

Before moving on after camping for a couple of days in the area, we thought it would be good to take a tour of country jewels, along with ilook4geo. We found some gems which were hidden in good strong weatherproof containers. SIgned each log with both lots of initials, put everything back securely in place and were on the hunt again. Thank you, FLIPPER&CO for adding this series of caches to the game.
Went caching this morning with goingplaces2 and found what we wanted. Happy to add some more smiley faces to the map. All caches were in clean and dry condition. Log was signed. TFTC,
Out for the day with Astro to get On Your Bike.

Sapphires! Definitely another one of a girl's best friends. Found on our way to Pernong with rain blowing in......going to be some happy farmers. TFTC FLIPPER&CO.
Decided to do a caching run to Loxton today, but didn't quite make it..hooked a right at Blanchetown and headed towards Walkers flat instead...Thought the rain would ease off over this side of Accommodation hill but it was persistent! By By the end of the day we were 2 very soggy moggy's..Quick find here, nice container!....TFTC

The dead Eastern Brown snake on the road not far from here reminded us to keep our eyes peeled, especially at this cache. Mrs J had just been bitten by a spider at the previous cache, and the sight of the snake convinced her to stay in the car. I wasn't giving up a find so easily, so set off through the long grass towards the cache.
Not snakes were encountered, but the cache took longer to find than it should have. I'm used to finding these Flipper caches at the same elevation out this way, so I didn't think to look up there!
Thanks FLIPPER&CO.

Still leisurely touring South Australia after the Mega
Camped currently at Big Bend, with a beautiful sunrise that we only caught the tail end of it was time to set off and explore the local area.
What a beautiful part of the world. [^] Just Magical all the stories we have heard of the Mighty Murray had just been tall stories until now. But wow oh wow. So impressed.
Thanks for helping us explore this magical part of our Australia.

Good cache location. Pity some of the stuff people put in them is not suitable. The kids didn't like a disposable razor or a beer bottle cap

warning - Geocaching is dangerous. A warm spring day it was as we set out from Bowhill for a few caches. Arrived at GZ. Looked at the 20 m to the cache from the car. Knee high bush. Time to put on boot protectors with the shorts. Step by step towards the cache. Nearly stepped down a huge rabbit burrow. Found the cache protected by some saphire wire. A bit nervous about snakes, picked up a metre long stick. Tapped the bush in front of me to ward of any critters. tap, tap, tap oh geeeeeeee. Brown Snake woken by stick lept straight for it. Aware of the need to remain calm, I lept about 3m up and back. walked out along the path until I needed to cross the bush again. With my trusty stick I again, tap, tap, tap, back to the car.

After having a fantastic time at the Oz Mega event we had to drop the youngest team member back in Melbourne as she had to return to work Tuesday but we are fortunate enough to have the rest of the week off and as the camper was already hooked up it seemed silly not to just keep going picking up a few more caches along the way.
This was our fifth and last country jewel for the day. This one looked it may have been the original property for Topaz. as it seems to be on the same block of land and a much smaller building with a very very well developed indoor garden. This one had us searching for a couple of minutes before the penny dropped and we caught a glimpse of th cache from the right angle, at least we can say that our name is now in the log
Our thanks to FLIPPER&CO for the cache.

geoD thought it was time to finish off this series so today was the day. We had already found 2 of them some time ago but didn't remember/couldn't find if we wrote down the clues needed for the bonus gold.

According to Wikipedia, sapphire is a gemstone variety of the mineral corundum, an aluminium oxide, when it is a color other than red or dark pink.
The name sapphire comes from the Greek word sappheiros, meaning "blue stone".

A very pretty location. Probably the best so far. We got soaked walking from the road to the cache. Lucky it was a quick find or we would have needed a snorkel.
Moving on along the Jewels, I was pleased to come to Sapphire - one of my fav jewels.

Did the nearby caches heading out to Claypans ages ago but we missed this one! Had two hours so it was a fairly quick 130km. round trip from Murray Bridge to do this one.(who said cachers are obsessed!!!!) Took nothing... left Nurses Geo-coin and what i first thought was a toy soldier.... on closer examination i found it looked just like Mr Flipper holding an ammo box cache!!! Thanks for the cache Gayle and Mark!!!!
Didn't see the jewel and overshot this cache. Once I'd sorted myself out this was an easy find.
Clue noted.

Our sixteenth find for the weekend, on our Roonka ramble weekend.
It would seem that doing the series around the wrong way leaves you at the wrong end of the series to get the final cache, which was disappointing, but in the end I think it might have been even further out of our way than we had already gone!
First find for the series, and we soon got the hang of things. As you would expect, all quiet at GZ today, so no issues with muggles.

First one for TeamAstro in the series. The old gardens around these spots are special. If you want to know what to plant, then see what is still growing. My sort of plant. You can't do your garden and cache.
Clear skies from TeamAstro. Thanks Flipperand Co for all of these - in anticipation
