Out and about with Geo-Pooch, being mindful that upon waking this morning the old girl was limping around the house which appeared to be miraculously cured by the command "swim" at a previous cache. Water having a similar effect on the staffy as it does to a gremlin.. the following several caches requiring mangling a staffy brain who appeared to only remember the commands "swim" and "this way" with the added ability of super-smell that picked up the scent of just about every animal that even remotely came close to this path for added effect.** Cache found with ease.. I had no idea that these tracks were here, both me and the geo-pooch enjoyed the tracks, thanks for bringing me here today. Noted that cache has previously been impacted by bush fire.. some burn marks on log and plastic bag melted to cache. Owner may possibly touch base with cache at some point.. but doesn't appear urgent.TFTCFind 768

Regarding our O'Dwyers Gully walk, baby Cottontail and I set out departing from Parkside Drive just after 09:45 hr. We walked along Woogaroo Highway (interestingly named for a bushland track), and then proceeded anti-clockwise via Nic's cross over, Opossum Creek Run, before walking through the scrub to join Bee Run and returning north to then follow Woogaroo Highway back to the car. We ended up walking a total distance of 9.6 km across an elevation of 161 m, with a moving time of 2:20 hr, and elapsed time of 3:15 hr, as per my [Strava record](https://www.strava.com/activities/11258349271). A forgotten bushland area, and a few of the trails still seem to be used by 4WDs. Midway through our walk, baby Cottontail enjoyed a backpack nap, which gave me motivation to continue a longer route than planned.I approached this cache from the north following the track, and then detouring to GZ. As others have mentioned, bush fires have impacted this ammo can, and I've never seen such carnage inside, but the current logbook seems to be holding out ok. Thanks okernel for the cache placement and ongoing maintenance.----------Today on the Anzac Day public holiday, baby Cottontail and I travelled to Springfield and walked in O'Dwyers Gully. We stopped at a few geocaches en route in Camira, which provided an opportunity for playground play. Following our walk, it was time for a bakery lunch and a few geocaches in Springfield, Camira, and Gailes, before returning home in the early afternoon.

Another bush bash, we found the cache; it looks like it has survived a bush fire! The contents are charred and burned, including the logbook

16-Dec-23
Found this one couldnt mark the cache as its super wet and looks as though a fire has been lit previously. Needs maintenance. TFTC

A fire has been started inside the cache and is now also water logged.

This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

25-May-23
Nice spot, TFTC.
Someone has lit a fire in this cache so the contents are damaged including the pen. Logbook is mostly intact.

There was an old party popper inside (which I removed) which may have been the cause if it ignited in hot weather.

I enjoyed a great walk in the Springfield bushland today picking up a few caches. This was a really nice spot and I stopped here for a drink and just sat for a while to enjoy the peace of the area. The cache is well camouflaged. I actually walked straight passed it at first but soon doubled back to look again and then it was easy to spot. It has done well to survive the fire and I was still able to sign the log. TFTC!

A trip to Perth checking out some of the awesome places along the way in ACT, NSW, Qld and NT. Grabbing some old caches and missing LGAs. TFTC.
It's a bit summers day in the bush. Walked right past it at first. Seems it's been in a bit of a bush fire. Log book still works.

Opossum creek parklands is closed until end of October 2022. Not sure if this cache can be accessed from another entry.

Little burnt, but still mostly intact. Thanks

27-Sep-21
So this was probably a victim of controlled burning at some point. Everything is charred or melted. Also, we may have entered a restricted construction area, nit sure, we bush bashed a bit to shortcut between caches and have a suspicion we will exit the trail behind a do not enter sign.

03-Sep-21
We were out in this beautiful bushland today, doing a circuit which took a couple of hours.
Here at GZ, it was a quick find. Plenty of birds singing with this lovely spring weather, and the wildflowers are beginning to look colourful around us.
Thanks for maintaining this oldie.

I wasn’t expecting an ammo tin here much less sitting right out in the open. Covered it with a bit more camo before I left. Thanks for the cache

07-Jul-21
While on my walk today found the very sad contents of this ammo tin but was able to sign the log. Looks like the prickly plants suffered too, so moved a rock in front of it to cover up from the nearby track. Tftc

24-May-21
This cache shows why you should not put party poppers into caches. We were trying to work out why this cache was so burnt out when none of the surrounding area showed fire damage. After a while, we realised that this was a fire totally (LUCKILY) contained within the container. Most of the log book is fine and can be signed. I was going to remove the damaged goods (toys melted together) but decided that while there, they tell a story and give a warning to other cachers dropping swag.

Essential Saturday exercise in this deserted bushland.
Not a living soul in sight today.

The walk in from the south was a bit like walking through a dump, some people should be tortured, with a spoon, slowly.

The cache was a bit damaged by fire but still works

Thank you for this cache

This geocacher reported that there is a problem with this cache.

12-Apr-20
Found it. Can confirm has been in a fire. I've added the track nearby to Open Street Map hopefully should make it easier for others. GPS position is slightly off, but only by approximately 1.5 metres.

12-Apr-20
BROJO has served geocachers very well for over a decade, but as I am in no position to maintain it any longer, I will pass it on to someone who can, or retire it. Because it still exists in location, I will wait for a local volunteer until the next person finds it before committing it to the archives.

04-Apr-20
Found while doing some quarantine mental health outdoors time. The cache has been toasted in a fire but the log book is still pretty much serviceable. Even rescued a charred TB.

Sorry about the generic log on a few of these but easier for me than typing every one of them Razz
I headed out here this morning to mainly grab a few of the animal alphabet and christian name challenge cache qualifiers, but I wound up grabbing several others along the way Big Grin
Most were pretty easy to find and all were found in good condition.
Took nothing, left nothing, signed the log.
Thanks for the cache okernel Smile

Down from Toowoomba with Eskies5 to grab a few caches. We continued along the track until we arrived at GZ. Eskies5 let out a groan thinking this hide may be another one of those hides. Luckily I spotted it as we walked passed and both us relieved at finding such a hide here. TFTC okernel

It seems like forever since Geo Wife and I have been free to go out for a day by ourselves doing some of our favourite game.

We have been spending so much of our spare time organising our daughter's wedding that there has been little time for anything else.

Now with the wedding behind us, and a great success too, we could now see a clear day.

The weather was perfect for a day in the bush with overcast sky and a pleasant breeze.

I had spotted this great collection of caches close together with a bit of a challenge and a good bush walk so we just had to come here.

We had just been at "The Junction" so it was an easy walk back and a short distance off track and I spotted our prize!!!

Thanks Okernel TFTC SL

Smilie #3592

It was arranged to do these caches, some time back, with Mr & Mrs Roddy C but with bad weather & one thing & another it didn't happen.
Put on the back-burner, the trail was once again raised as a possible joint venture & this time, despite the heavily overcast skies, it was 'all systems go!'. Smile
14 caches plus an event made today another great caching experience.

A nice little uphill hike soon had us at GZ where a quick find followed.
All good with the cache.
Signed & replaced as found.

What better way to cache early Australia Day than with geocacher Linden/6, on a long-awaited date, with some great bush-walking to do.

From "The Junction" we continued south and up the track until GPSrs said time to turn off. The Prickly bush was soon located, revealing the standard ammunition tin underneath. All is well with this cache. The CO was right about the location being not well frequented by muggles. We never encountered anyone along this entire track, except for those exercising along the new concrete walking pathway. I wish BROJO well and hope he has some trackable visitors soon.

Found at 9.35am on 26th January 2016. TFTC.

Selva Girls and I are both working on raising our Terrain rating for the Average D/T challenge so I suggested we head down here and do some of the caches on this trail today. The weather was lovely and cool, just right for walking through the bush and we had a really enjoyable afternoon.

Selva Girls spotted this one as we approached and I was kicking myself for leaving the 4 trackables I have at the moment in the car.

24-May-15
I needed a long walk and this stretch of bushland seemed like the ticket Smile

I was on a collision course with Dawesy321 and Genyo here, as they started a bit later than moi.

A FAVE point as I do like a traditional hide and a bush-appropriate cache Big Grin

TFTC okernel! Really appreciate your efforts in placing these caches for our enjoyment.

ps: I wrote yesterday's date in every logbook today. Doh! Like I would know what day it is. Didn't realise until Genyo sent a message that I didn't read until that night Razz

24-May-15
This was an awesome cache. It was nice to get a traditional container like this out in the wilderness! I really enjoyed finding it. Smile This one came in the middle of an extended journey around the reserve. Smile I practically walked into the cache. Smile TFTC okernel

24-May-15
Spent the day in the area with Genyo doing some caching and this was towards the end of our day. We got as close to GZ as we could before heading into the bush. I was navigating so you would think I would've spotted this cache but no, I walk right past it. Genyo however had his eyes open and easily spotted the cache from a distance. TFTC!

Out for an early morning walk with Pippa the Wonderdog looking for some higher terrain caches. I am not sure how this area has slipped my attention, but I finally had the chance to swing by and see what is there.

I had a nice giggle when I saw the photo in the description - classic. No such crossings needed at the moment, even with all the wet weather we have been having...phew!

So I totally missed this one when I walked past between Qin and The Junction...it would seem I missed adding this one to the GPSR - not to worry it wasn't too far to come back, and such an enjoyable place to walk.

A nice quick find for me. Thanks okernel

29-Nov-14
First day geocaching back in Australia and it was great to get out with Crew153. It was great to catch up on the happenings in the Southeast geocaching community. We also enjoyed discussing Mrs and Baby Hunting Rabbit throughout the day. If Mrs THR was here we would definitely find the caches much quicker. Wink

After doing Cantcacheus2014's KPT we headed to Brookwater to do this series. This was the second one in this area. After finding Qin's guardian we back tracked and headed down the trail. Getting up here was a little challenge for Dr THR due to undiagnosed atypical pneumonia, but he pushed through. This was a fairly easy find and we were happy to have another smile on such a hot day. 11-Oct-14
Out on the goecycle today. I set off from the appointed parking co-ordinates along a nice concrete path. The path soon turned to a nice wide, solid dirt path. Cool. It then got narrower. Even better. Then the real fun began.

Riding along the creek bed was great fun. Cool Rocks, tree roots, ruts, logs. Woohoo Big Grin I made it to within 100m of the cache and I could not see where the trail went from here.

I stashed the geocycle and made the rest of the way on foot. A nice quick find at GZ thanks Smile

Back down to the geocycle and a fun ride back to the park.

Cut cross country from Qin to this cache and then went directly uphill to the ridge track. A great ramble thanks to several cache owners.

23-May-14
Out and about with barbbowman for a Friday Frenzy Big Grin I've wanted to have a go at this cache a couple of times, but never seemed to be in the right spot to start it. Today as barb and I would be down here again, I made sure it went on the todo list. Surprise, surprise, as we reach our chosen starting point, ohh, look... we've been here before Razz How did I miss that last time??? Anyway, we grabbed our water bottles and set off at a good pace, and enjoyed the ramble (except for all the rubbish strewn around SadTwisted why do people do that????)

barb took the walk all in her stride which was great to see [^] After finding the nearby cache, we took a beeline across the bush to this one's GZ. I spotted the cache as we arrived. We removed some inappropriate items from inside before signing the log, then made our way back up the hill to the car. We certainly got our bushwalk done with style today. TFTC, okernel.

I wandered over to this one via Qiu and was trying to move fast through the light scrub. It was a surprise to encounter the rocky outcrops and I feared there would be a big, time-consuming drop-off, but there wasn't. I must admit I hadn't read the description until I arrived, so was quite surprised to see the track not far off. However, taking the track didn't suit my purposes today so after finding the cache in great condition, I turned and headed straight back up the hill again. TFTC and some interesting explorations just before dusk today.

The geokids loved the challange of this cache. We picked our way across two sections of the creek and had a decent climb. All along the way I was loading in waypoints to mark our way back to the car as I'm notorious for getting lost in the bush! Brojo had plenty of natural camo as it hasn't been visited in a while. Kids made some swaps, left some playing cards and $1, took a transformer and Cinderellas lost slipper. Thanks for the adventure today!

22-Mar-13
Well this was an adventure. Saw other caches had successfully taken their bikes so off I head with mine. Nearly ended up pushing it for 80% of the trip due to floods ripping the track to pieces. The highlight was getting me and my bike across the creek without getting wet and getting the bike down the 50degree slop with out it dragging me down with it. Was a good time. TFtC. Cache in good order
