After finding the lookout cache I attempted to follow my map to get to this GZ. Unfortunately the map was not as perfect as I needed so the best way was to go back to the parking lot first. I then took the path with the least hill climbing. At GZ, I got to the right tree, but had to loop around before I found the cache. Thanks for maintaining this one. TFTC.
Cache check.Replacement RITR log and inner container by chRcheuse are fine.Outside container difficult to replace because the hide is wedged in specific spot.Upside down and securely wedged will make this cache last for a long time yet.
Lid of black outer container missing, and lid of inner container was off and rattling around inside the black one. So water has saturated the log despite the wee zip lock (see pic). Temporary new log paper in new inner container now there, with various ziplocks... might need replacing/maintenance. tftc
General:
Finally both Dutch Kiwis had a few hours together without kids, which had been a long time ago. What better way to spend the day than go out on a joint geocaching adventure! Great weather, nice tracks and 0 DNF's, which is a first on a longer cache day in NZ . Thanks to all CO's for the placement & maintenance!
Specific:
Coming up to this track there is a sign about track closure. But the accompanying orange plastic 'fence' had been opened. We decided to give it a go and were able to reach GZ without issues. There is still one location where the path is largely gone but for adults no problem to cross safely. The cache was relatively easy to find thanks to the hint, tftc!

Took Mr 3 up to find this one as it was the third for the day and the 2 brothers had already found one each. Sad to say we found the spot but no sign of the Cashe only one big black spider
First find of the day. Dragged the wee people up here burn off some energy and for me to regain some sanity.... Container was starting to migrate from tree so pinned it with a large rock. Outer container full if water but smaller container and log fine. TFTC
Great to walk these tracks in winter with the weather not too hot. Arrived at GZ and dumped gear on the bench. A quick search and the cache was in hand. All good here. Onwards now to the top and then down to Charlottes Web.

A great walk from the Botanics, up over the hill past the Centre of NZ, down into Branford Park in the Maitai Walked some side tracks I've never done before
Women's Summer Challenge event was on today & we spotted a few of the direction markers & stopping points

Third of the day. This one was found a little down the bank, so I have lifted slightly off the ground and hopefully the rocks I put around/over it will keep it from migrating. TFTC B&W.
Today RG1972 and I went for a walk around the centre of NZ, without actually going to it. We were able to stretch the legs on some of these side tracks and pick up a few caches on the way. Also got a few pathtags, all but one for swaps. But a nice day, good exercise, and all caches in good shape. I did the signing, RG did the selfies. Thanks all.

Its turned out a hot day so walking up here is making me hot. Got this one tagged. Cache very wet but log still ok. Cheers.
Its Wellington Anniversary weekend and The Seagnoid is heading south. So its a weekend away with Zara, Toby and The Seagnoid with the main focus on LAB caches around Nelson and Tasman. And a day around Marlborough for cache maintenance and phone maintenance. Another awesome weekend.

Man its a warm - hot- day today! So we only walked half way up and then walked pu yaw flah. The board opposite the cache is all new info to me, made for interesting reading.
And the tracks around here need editing. I will get to that soon.
It's Wellington Anniversary so what better thing to do to celebrate than to... leave! I hopped on a plane and headed over to Nelson and met up with Taybeedragon for a couple of days of adventure labbing in Nelson then to Blenheim on Monday for some cache maintenance and to pick up a huge swag of ammo cans (it's not what you know, it's who you work for!)

Last cache over this side of the walkway and a nice trot up the hill. Was a glorious blue sky day by this point and all was good. Read the sign at the top and enjoyed the scenery. T F T C b&w
Last day of May and after a nights rest at home I was back over the hill for a second consecutive day to get an unfound (by me) Earthcache from Brook Valley as well as some other cache treats. Only a modest few caches today but a nice walk around the airport and a FTF too!
A funny long weekend this one was. mrs capperz has headed to the North Island to await the birth of grandchild number 12, yes 12 (with another due in October), and so I was at a 'loose end', yeah right. Also on the agenda is an impending move of us and the household to Auckland, maybe as soon as 4 weeks time, and I have 3 days off work, fuel is not too badly priced at the minute (starting to sound like a Blues Brothers line) so it was a chance to roll down the drive for 3 separate forays into Nelson/Tasman territory to pick off some random caches. Not a 'numbers' trip, more a settling the stats trip. I was keen to make a few more beltfamily cache finds to get to the magical triple figures, plus some unfinished rail business from Marlborough's t S. A weekend of great tramping/walking/caching weather, 3 consecutive days of 20kms walked, nice, and some great scenery.

The box was removed and emptied in the forest. Everything right again. TFTC .

Found it nice and quick after a long journey of constant bushbashing and legs getting grazed I came across the track and soon to the cache but after all that no pencil but can tell you what the cache looked like small glass jar wrapped in black electric tape TFTC
Nice walk around. Thanks for cache.
In: CWG (It's not trackable, it's just for memories.)

A quick and easy find. Thanks
Having a wee break up in Nelson. Today we drove not too far away from the middle of town, had some good walks and had lovely fine weather. Those we found together were signed Ms+Mr KR.
Thanks to the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches. Cheers.

Out for a walk around the centre of New Zealand. Grabbed a few caches as I went. Thanks for the cache and able to claim 839m for the DGSc distance challenge.
I don't think I have ever been up this track before. They are doing some work on it so it will be a great wee ride to bring the grandson to one day. I went a wee bit further on and had a look at the 'spike'. Thanks for the reason to come and have a bit of a look around and of course for the smilie
Had to fill an hour and a half in the area while waiting for my son's St John's training to finish, so I took the geodog up the hill, definitely got my steps for the day up a wee bit. Didn't plan to go caching, so we didn't bring a pen. We did find the very exposed cache, photo of log as we could not sign. Rehidden with a bit more cover. Tftc
I did come from Branford park today and I think I made some of those noises haha. Getting fitter though...
Found quickly but as previously mentioned, log unsignable.
Thanks very much!

Unfortunately no lid and full of water. Doing a short round trip- waaaay too hot today!
Last cache here today on these fantastic tracks. Nice seat here for a wee rest...
Cache well camo'd - will be back again...and again for more of these walks.

Some beautiful walks up here. Wish I had more time to explore. Oh well...next trip. TFTC
Been on the to do list for a while and today was so nice for a walk,,,, kids really enjoyed it ,, quick find and sign then off to the top .. thanx for bringing us here b&W Thanx4tc
Leaving the rest of the gang at home, I headed out for a brisk walk to the Centre of NZ on a lovely frosty morning. It's the first time I have walked along this particular stretch of track and it made for a nice alternative route to the summit.
There were a couple of nice viewpoints of the snow-capped mountains along the way and although this wasn't the best, it was a nice sunny spot, with bench, to sit and sign the log.

Found on our 25 day New Zealand South Island holiday.
Apologies for the late log but with little or no internet as we travelled and only super slow WiFi in van parks I decided to log all finds on my return home.
Found on a two night stopover in Nelson

Such a steep climb up to this one - really wasn't expecting that. But why wasn't I? Nelson is hilly! A lovely walk while we were spending a few days in the area as part of our 9 month round the world trip.
We came close to this one, while we failed on our search for Nelsons oldest cache. Good thing that this easy find was waiting there to cheer us up
#8403. After a DNF at the previous cache, it was good to make a find here (after a decent stretch of the legs to get to GZ). TFTC.
We weren't too sure how to approach from Branford Park, then somehow managed to park right at the start of the track! Took a bit longer than expected to walk to the cache as the track zigged and zagged up and around the hill. Nice views and appreciated the handy seat near GZ after a bit of puing (or is that phuing), yawing and flahing to get there .
The container was lidless when we found it, but logbook good and dry. Discovered the lid on replacement, and re-united it with the cache, but it looks like it has broken off. TFTC.

I'm just passing through Nelson for a day and a half; what better way to spend it. TFTC
We took a gentle plod up the hill in the mid day sun to find this cache. Going in from Branford Park and taking the easier gradient and therefore slightly longer route we were somewhat surprised to see a tent pitched on the grassy area beyond the track.
The cache was soon found, minus it's lid, and the log signed. Then a scratch around to find the lid and reposition it as well as we could. The logbook is slightly damp but no problem to use it. TFTC.

Maybe not at the best time of a hot summer day but enjoyable all the same. This cache has been on the to-do list for a while. The surprise was a tent. The cache container needed some attention but it's fixed best we could. TFTC

Set off to find this cache 2 days ago but half way up the hill the batteries died and the spares didn't work either [xx(]. Good excuse for an after dinner walk on a nice evening and realised we were at the spot when our GPS let us down on Sunday. All good tonight and cache soon found and signed .
Great walk to finally find this cache after GPS difficulties at the weekend. TFTC.
Great location - we definitely took the long way round - but enjoyed the explore, met friends along the way all very social:)
Nice day for a lunch time walk and why not a cache along the way? I've never been up this track before and can see a mountain bike ride coming up soon as a nice gradient to at least "yaw flah". TFTC
Lovely walk good clues but it did take us a wee while to get on the right track then away!
Stickman nz & I took the easy route from the Centre Of NZ as it's all down hill from here [:0] TFTC.
Out for a walk after work. I don't know why I've never walked up this side of the hill before. Quick find
Out picking up a few caches after work - - and giving the muscles a bit of a workout. Have never been up this track before, though I have approached the big spike from the other side many times. A cool new seat nearby looks as though it hasn't been there for long. - - No time to try it out today. TFTC
Great spot. Nice quick walk to make you feel like you've done something. Took travel bug
Approached from Branford Park and I was definitely making noises as I puffed up the gradient, though not enough to drown out the noise of kereru crashing through the trees above me. Easy find.
My first cache on a really nice wander around here today. Managed to track down the cache nice and quickly, TFTC!

Second attempt and success. Must have picked the wrong track as I ended up climbing a cycle shortcut. Hard work but the dogs loved it, I think.
Thanks
Thanks
Took a track up from Branford Park - lots of zigs and zags, so it felt like we'd climbed a lot further than just Pu Yaw Flah by the time we reached the cache, Think we've explored most of the tracks on this hill today! Thanks!

Found with Stretch0 today - took an alternate route to well formed path - long story to short did make cache name sounds they way we went and worked out (whilst catching my breath on near by seat) what the cache name meant ( hadnt read cache description at that stage!!!!) great views thanks for the cache signed log
Looked at this and thought it didnt look to bad and the well formed track looked too good so took my fellow cacher (niteowlnz) via the more direct route. After we got and found the cache and the well formed track at the top i wasnt in the best of books taking the most direct route (it was slightly steeper) . TFTC
Lovely stroll up the track and then straight lined it for fun. A few muggles about due to a rare display of sunshine. TFTC
Pu'ed and Flah'ed my way up the track to somehow manage to take a small (steep, greasy) detour which brought me to the cache from above.
That's enough hills for one day. Picked up coin.

Nice place! Swopped a `surprise-egg´ for the mini tennis ball - that will fit perfectly on the mirror bracket of my van! Thx!!
Im pretty sure I havent been down this track before... Always a new track to geocache even in your back yard. Cheers.
Nice to be out and about on a new track before we leave for the coast, TFTC cheers
Tried to take a short cut ended up making a few noises similar to the title.

Believe it or not I found this one this morning while out riding (yes it was chucking down but we were out anyway) No GPS but had a good idea where I might find this one, and I did. No muggles about except my riding partner, muggle Jon.
replaced container, pencil needs sharpening, but did not have the tools with me.....bugger. Take a pen people.
I had forgotten to log this one, so date might not be very accurate.came up here with integersmik and papasmurf, lovely evening walk. TFTC
