When experts like GoldJ can't find a cache; it's time to check it out!
When the owner can't find his own cache; it's time to replace it!
Have given this a lot of thought and have decided to archive the cache. The location is proned to a lot of school kids with the bus stop opposite. I figure that they know the cache was there and may have been responsible for its removal. On that premis, don't think it would remain on site long were it replaced.
For that reason, I am archiving this cache.
Thanks to all who looked for and found this cache.
Apologies to those that looked and could not find it.
Cheers OldSaint.

Well we went and we searched but we can't find it again. Some days are like that.We wont give up yet ,we will return.
Nice quick find on our way to 500 gc's tftc, nice to have something different
This tractor has certainly seen better days. We searched locations consistent with the hint but did not have immediate success. Then we changed the angles that we were looking at parts of the tractor and the cache caught the sunlight. Finally, the cache was in hand. TFTC OldSaint
What a great thing to display, no need for gps beyond general area - could not miss it. An easy find for geodad, a quick log & back on our way. TFTC
Looked & looked. No go. Went up to do A View of the Huon Cache. Then had another go on way back. Found straight away. TFTC
after a previous dnf i had a very quick find today wondered why i didn't find last time
Got this one with a little help from a friend - nice hide - we replaced the log as the existing was "mushed" thanks OldSaint
After JJ having a Principal at his school who was very into tractors it is hard to pass one without stopping. TFTC
Given a leave pass for a couple of hours, I decided to head down to Geeveston.
This was the first cache on the way that I hadn't previously found (or looked for), so I pulled over.
As I approached, I imagined something in the mould of the Apple Museum, and feared a long hunt.
After a couple of false starts, I looked in the right area, and was surprised by how visible it was.
No one around, so quickly signed and up the road to the next one.
Thanks!

During day trip from Hobart to Southport. It was a lovely day, nice weather, great views, good coffee and food and in between some caches! TFTC
Found and logged together with Muspel during our holidays in Australia .

Occurred to me that another milestone has passed while Old Boots wrote up the log. Greetings from NZ. TFTC
Found with whitewebbs on our "Down South" caching holiday, rather quickly for us, as old machinery and Trekkers don't mix. TFTC
Found with Tassie Trekkers while caching in the area. Quick easy find, luckily, as hint wasn't much help! TFTC.
Arrived at GZ mid to late afternoon, we were glad that it turned out to be a quick find as there was a fast approaching bus of school muggles. TFTC
No doubting GZ when approaching! Logged and returned just before the area was swamped with muggles! TFTC!
Satellite reception sent us to the middle of the road - luckily, the name made it pretty clear where we had to look for GZ. Quick find in the dark.

Finally had time to stop on the way past. Easy find. Log is a challenge! TFTC Chumpy1
Wow, that is a lot of rust!! Didn't take too long to find, especially with the help of the hint. The log is very tatty but can still use it. First find of the day on a trip down the Huon to find a few caches we haven't been to yet. TFTC.
Found and logged at 14:45, One of many I hope to pick up on my visit to Tasmania

This relic is older than I am, and rustier. I'd driven past many times and, since taking up caching, thought it would be an ideal spot for ... and it is. Neat micro, TFTC.
Interesting old relic. I loved reading the old faded painted advertising signage on it, although I can't help wondering if the paint will outlast the tractor! The cache wasn't quite what I was expecting, so it's just as well Prionotes spotted it before I gave him any advice that might have led him astray. Thanks for the cache, OldSaint.
Parked right next to the tractor, as it was now the end of dusk. Used the light from the iPhone to have a look, and sure enough i found it first go!
What a great little micro! TFTC

Didn't find it, although we spent more time searching the metal barrier on the other side of the road before giving up and moving on.
Ok for some reason the family sent me in for the kill on this one. Spot one nope spot two greese but spot three produced the goods. Get some sort of buzz out of finding micros on old machines.
JABs.

One of about 106 found during a 25 day holiday from Victor Harbor to Melbourne with a lap of Tasmania thrown in before heading back to Victor. It rains in Tasmania!

We searched all over this heap with no joy so we went into Huonville and did a couple more caches. Then, after getting a clue from one in the know, we returned with a firm idea of what the cache looks like and where it is. But we couldn't find it. Got covered with oil though even though J wore a glove. Baa Humbug.
Well took us a little time but fortunately it wasn't the traumatic experience of the last finder!! Definitely could see how that could happen though. The Wet Ones came in handy at this one though. Thanks.
Well, what a saga this one was!
After a hint from Earthbound Chief we went back for our third visit (not so hard when you are camped just up the road at Franklin).
Leaned over to have a closer inspection... and tinkle, tinkle. A brand new, never used torch dropped into the gizzards of the tractor, closely followed by my mobile phone. After an hour we recovered (a) the torch, (b) the cache and (c) the previous cache container. Part (d) - the mobile phone: after a further two hours, is still inside awaiting recovery tomorrow.
Don't ring me, ring the tractor!
Thanks a million, OldSaint. It must be your fault!

THE SAGA HAS ENDED! Successfully!
After a further three hours with pieces of bent coathangers, bent wire, torches, mirrors on sticks with LED lights, lengths of aluminium angle, duct tape, a garden stake (oh thank you, Chichenfeed, thank you) bent spoons attached to said garden stake and with lots of patience and persistence, the errant mobile phone was at last spotted, then hoisted to safety with a suction cap also attached to the garden stake.
It tried to escape once and returned to the depths of the tractor gizzards, but was successfully retrieved within a few minutes.
Thanks, OldSaint for your interest and rude jokes!

Yeah - finally found it - thanks to a little birdie who gave me a clue. SL TFTC
Took the Chief longer to put the log back in than it did for him to find it! He was a lovely shade of black when he finished! Love these old guys. TFTC
I never find these ones, thank heavens the Chief was here. He was the one that got all greased up and Mum growled at him and not me!
Found this little guy on our way through this beautiful island. We were rewarded with lots of great views, a gorgeous nature and some very surprising encounter with the fascinating wildlife.
Thanks for hiding the box and for showing us this special place!
Greets from Germany... and a happy summer!

1st find for the day, what a great hide to start a day that was also great. T4TC SL
Not too sure about the hint, but geoP's keen eyes spotted the prize. A glorious 23deg day makes for a great geoCaching adventure.

#650 @ 2.25pm on our Tassie Caching Adventure with DazzPete. We were Southbound on our way to camp at Cockle Beach for a couple of nights and this cache was close enough to the main drag to make the effort to have a look on the way. I don't know why this tractor is rusty as our hands came out black after our search - thankfully GeoP managed to spot the cache.

Dont normally like micros with my ailing eye sight, but as i was out for the day caching thought i would have a go ay this one, took a couple of minutes, but found in the end.
Thanks OldSaint.
Thanks OldSaint.
Found with bedmaker after a bit of searching. A great old piece of machinery! TFTC
Found with TassieGirl13.
We arriived at the right time, no one around.
Because of that we where able to concentrate our efforts fully on the task at hand.
Looked here and there and there and here untill finally I looked in there and here was the cache.
Sneaky little bugger to get.
TFTC. pity about the tractor, it would have been a real worker in its day.

Hmm no love here. Looked high and Low. Above and "below" But no love... maybe next rip around
Well I was tempted not to stop here, as I still had our cat in the car, but then thought a quick search might but lucky, but it wasn't to be - I searched a wider area this time but still no luck, even though gps not as 'jumpy' this time. PS have I told you that I hate machinery caches
FOUND IT!
It just was so easy I can't believe I didn't find it after 15 minutes of searching the previous time. Perhaps it was the different lighting, who knows.

Did I mention I hate old machnery caches. Have not found the apple musuem one yet, and had all but given up on this one when geo kid a found it. Tftc.
arrrrg another mirco on a piece of old machinery. the hint left me a bit lost, will have to visit this one again!

Finally, took me three visits to get this one in the end!
Don't seem to have much luck with these things ( micros and guns etc.)
I need a bit more practice as I probably rely too much on the GPS I think...
Thanks for the cache!

Oh, no I thought on pulling up..... old machinery and rock piles are nemises.... but I am so proud of myself for finding this one in the end... normally I give up after a short search but a glimmer of silver caught my eye here with the sunlight on it and there was the cache.... and there was the hole, now I know which hole you were referring to!!!
cheers 4 da cache OldSaint!

Ccache isn't magnetic anymore, but is still in the same position. Thanks for the assistance with this one - cache blindness has me in its thrall!
third time lucky with a call to the owner. ended up with this one in hand, took out the logsheet then managed to drop the cache into an unretrievable part of the gz. luckily I was able to replace the container. tftc oldsaint and the hint.
Took a while searching but found it eventually - kids had fun climbing over tractor. TFTC
Driven past here for about 25 years, so it was good to stop and check out the rusty old thing. The advert has almost faded away.
TFTC!
TFTC!
Well, it's still there!
Doubt if I would have found it but thankfully had Redtag with me who gave me some subtle hints.....then some not so subtle ones!
Finally the penny dropped

Hmmmmmm... I have to admit that in such an exposed spot, a more direct hint is possibly in order... we were cooking out there! Nice tractor though!
Hmmm..... found plenty of rust, but no cache.... maybe it's time for a more specific hint? (for the cache-blind like me who need a hint from time to time)
Love these bits of machinary. Get to see the inside workings and lots more. Found to be an easy find as it was not a real micro, being on the larger side. Still a good hide but forget the hint. TFTC
Took us a while to find this cache, but we decided not to use phone to contact a spoiler. And we found it, with a nice feeling of true sportsmanship. Thanks.
After looking for some time I decided to use a life line and phone a friend.
Thanks Oldsaint for the cache and thanks Swampy for the help

The clue wasnt paticularly helpful seeing there is at least 100 of them. Oh well we were having a bad day anyway after just driving to the Tahune Airwalk to find it closed.
I was just looking at nearby caches I haven't found yet when I realised that I haven't logged that I'd looked for this one again; again with no success. Impatience of family didn't help either. Perhaps it will be third time lucky.
Once again a nice easy find in the rain....lol

took a bit but finally found it, good stash spot looks like the end of a bolt. second geocache of your that is my ftf.
Despair !!! - My jubilation from the previous cache FTF didn't last long. I had a good look - but not quite good enough. Tried the clue but it was no help - there are plenty of those, so many that I could write a whole thesis on them!! As I was already late for work I had to leave it for another day. Next time I won't be in my work boots and good pants either!. Good spot for a cache - I had it on my future cache spot list. I better be quick to put some new ones out before you exhaust my list . I'll have another shot at this one when I have a bit more time but it won't be in the next week - family holiday on the Gold Coast starts tomorrow
