Interesting location. We took the walk from South Bank up to here. And looked at the whole beauty of these cliffs thanks for hiding.TFTC magicchicken
Collected the requirements to log this EC while waiting for riverfire to start TftEC !Greetings from France
Schne Idee, sehr schn gemacht! Vielen Dank frs Legen und Pflegen!
I am down under for the very first time. Visiting Australia has always been a dream of mine, and I cannot believe it has come true. Australia's nature and wildlife really captivated me. Over three weeks, I saw many wonderful beaches, sunsets, animals such as , and I found great geocaches. My tour guide was mostly geocaching, and through it, I discovered many beautiful places I wouldnt have seen without our great hobby. I mainly stayed in Brisbane but also visited other gorgeous places such as Noosa Heads and Springbrook. I spent a few days on the Gold Coast and Moreton Island, and I went to New South Wales to have visited a second state in Australia. During my stay, the winter and early spring in Queensland were very warm, the sun shone every single day, and I did not see a single drop of rain. My time down under was so beautiful and unforgettable. Australia is such a stunning country! A few days ago, I arrived in Brisbane and today I explored the city again. I really like this city and I discovered beautiful places. I also looked for many geocaches like this one. I tried to answer all the questions of this -cache and sent it to the CO. Very interesting and I learned a lot! Thank you for this geocache says Mr. J. Cacher from the other side of the world
Dropped in here on the way to the valley. Some good climbing going on Photo and answers sentHavent been done the bottom for a whileThanks
Got to GZ, after walking for 8-9 km this morning, so ready for a sit down, take some photos, and work out some answers. Got to watch some abseiling in tot he bargain.Sent answers to CO. Thanks for bringing me here - I had never walked along this stretch of the river before (usually drive along the road above) so this was nice.
I decided to come visit the city today. I had no clue where I was going or what I was doing. In the end I found myself taking a very wet wander along the waters edge under Kangaroo Point. Thanks for the EC here.
Greetings from Wales. The final leg of our Australian trip has brought us to Brisbane for a couple of days so today we took a lovely walk from our hotel across the river to South Bank, around to and across the Storey Bridge and back via the Botanical Gardens. A great introduction to the city.I have tried to send the answers to the CO for this earth cache but their account is currently showing as locked and unable to message/email so logging the find. Lovely to see so many people climbing at this location and some dances close to the car park too. Thanks for bringing me to this location and thanks for setting this cache.
Brisbane Day 2: On The Other Side of the RiverTodays schedule was jammed packed with things to do, and of particular interest were the caches in South Brisbane, and U of QLD at Saint Lucia (which I learnt was pronounced as Lu-chee-ia and not Lu-see-ia) on the ferry. It was also river cruise day, making maximum use of the 50 cent fare trial period, and hopping on and off at all the various stops on the Central Brisbane area. Ended off the day at Kangaroo Point, and crossed the Story Bridge back into the CBF to end the day. Walked 37.5k steps today over 26.5 km, making for a very crazy day of geocaching. Thanks for all the caches across Brisbane - they all made my day in some way or another. This is the specific log for this cache:Got to this one on a lovely scenic walk along the river. I thought this was sandstone, but thanks for informing me that this is ignimbrite and tuff. Looks can be deceiving indeed. I really love what the Council has done with the place as well, it was a great evening amble indeed. TFTEC!
We arrived after dark so may have the wrong colour but we enjoyed doing this EC very much.
Thanks CO for deleting my log without any DM.I humbly apologise for placing my photo in the wrong message with my answers. Here is the pic, attached to my log Knob!
Muggle65 and l were parked nearby so we raced around and did this EC. Thank you for the fun
Out with GreenGecko 1 visiting the Southside and stopped to watch some climbers eroding our GZ area. Its been great learning some more history.
Found - Mrs McMike2012 & I are visiting from NZ we had recently finished our road-trip from Sydney to the Gold Coast and are currently staying in Brisbane before heading home this weekend went for a walk today to clear up some Adventure Labs, score a few Virtuals & Earthcaches this Earthcache being one on our to-do-list required information collected, photos taken & research conducted we are logging this in anticipation of receiving the all-clear from the Cache Owner pleased to add a 'smiley face' to the tally TFTC ... We are in Australia for holidays and, on our way north, we stopped a day at Brisbane. The walk along the river is very nice to do. We did the earthcache as well. TFTC
I had already spent a lot of time in the rain today but decided I couldn't get a whole lot wetter so I would do the caches and adventure lab stages in the area. This place has a lot of history, that's for sure. Answers have been sent to the CO. Thank you for the smiley and the fun!The day:I was visiting from the U.S. and had a goal of driving all the way up the east coast starting in Melbourne and ending in Port Douglas over a few weeks. This day started in Byron Bay and ended in Brisbane. The distance was doable and I didn't load my list with caches. It was a good day. Many thanks to all the geocachers who placed and continue to maintain their geocaches for folks like me to find. I know it's not always easy, but I do appreciate you.
This gets a favorite! I'm out caching on this beautiful day while visiting your country. I am visiting from Rhode Island and traveling with a group of cachers from USA and Canada. We will be traveling to Brisbane, Sydney, and embarking on an NCL cruise to the South Pacific. Logs will be signed with our names or group name to saveroom on logs. SPCA24. Thank you to the COs who hide and maintain these caches. Everything below this line is for Project-GC log numbers. ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** I will be attending any nearby events to meet up with local cachers. I will be targeting gadget caches, which are always a fun challenge. Older caches and Virtuals aren't to be missed. Solved puzzles that I've spent many snowy days working on. Earthcaches are always worth the lessons learned. Challenge caches are some of my favorites even if I don't qualify yet... something to work towards. Webcams before they all disappear. High favorites are always worth the fun. Adventure Labs point out things I would usually just drive by without the work a CO puts into them. New counties, whenever possible, for some of those challenges I've already signed. Let's not forget towns for MA351 whenever in the area. I'm always on the lookout for large sized containers and caches for my Fizzy and Jasmer grids. Logs will be stamped with our caching names or initials to save room on logs. I don't always stamp in order, I will fill in spaces if there are any on the log. If answers are required, one of us will send them when we get home. Thank you to all of the COs for the time and dedication of hiding and maintaining these Geocaches for everyone to find! ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** ** **Freedom by Olive RunnerGive me the long, straight road before me,A clear, cold day with a nipping air,Tall, bare trees to run on beside me,A heart that is light and free from care. Then let me go! I care not whitherMy feet may lead, for my spirit shall beFree as the brook that flows to the river,Free as the river that flows to the sea.
Greeting from beautiful British Columbia, Canada!!Off on another geocaching adventure with Alamogul, Karba1 and myself. We are starting in Australia and ending up in Tahiti caching along the way. Thanks to all of the COs for placing these caches for us to find and for adding to our fun day. Answers for virtual and earth caches will be sent by a member of our group
A lovely few days spent in Sunny QLD - here for a work trip but extended it and a mini-getaway it was. TFTC
After parkrun this morning, the group of us headed around the valley the around the west to find a few caches and check out the cool spots. A lovely spot here down by the river, not too many people climbing the rocks here today.I headed to Brisbane for a few days with Courtneyrose_ to check out the attractions and to catch up with Davidwazza and Jesswrigley, a nice few days away in QLD finding caches along the way here and there. Thanks for the cache
CO deleted my log with proof of visit although answers were sent by message center and email on the day of the visit without any kind of notice. Why?
Next attempt to log this cache after the first one was deleted without further notice or warning. That made us visit this place several times to try to comply with the (unknown additional) COs logging requirements and expectations*******Nach der anstrengenden Anreise mussten wir uns natrlich erstmal ein bisschen die Beine vertreten und haben auch gleich ein bisschen die Umgebung erkundet. Da passte es ganz gut, dass dieser schne Park gleich um die Ecke unserer Unterkunft liegt. On a beautiful winter day in Queensland, TBU2Uwe001 and I visited this area, watched couple of abseilers and city cats crossing the river, gathered the necessary details and sent our answers to CO.

We went for a lovely walk from Kangaroo Point to Howard Smith wharves and back over the Goodwill bridge. Just shy of 10km. It is amazing how busy the whatmrves are now, su h a turnaround from the derelict structures they once were. The cliffs make a great photo opportunity for the river and city. TFTC.
Find 9 of 22 on a walking day. Almost 20km of pavements pounded and 46 Ad Lab locations ticked off, along with some well-placed stealth grabs.
Cool spot, answers and photo to follow.

Traversed the geocache twice - once on water and once on bike track. Saw abseiling underway and an electric scooter crash. Great day out and TFTC brining this geology to our attention!
In Brisbane for a few days from Sydney and out for a long walk today. We enjoyed examining the cliffs and learning about how they came to be here. We have sent responses to the CO. TFTEC Cheers…. Gaztek
Visiting this very scenic spot to complete the cache for my spell June challenge. Enjoyed learning more about the city I live in! Thanks for your efforts putting this cache together.
Although I've been here stacks of times before, I didn't notice there was an Earthcache here. Possibly due to the fact that I used to put these in the too hard basket .
Oh well, I'm here today and feeling confident.
Fantastic views from this spot.
Thanks for the cache

Kangaroo Point was a bit of a let down as far as what we were expecting, but grabbing this EC made up for it. It was interesting to learn a bit about the cliffs as well.
Nice place to relax a little from the busy city. Thanks for showing this part of Brisbane.
While walking along the riverside, I discovered this earthcache. I solved the tasks and sent the answers to the owner.

For about 14 years before children I used to climb at KP doing many of the harder routes like Chippers and Moonlight Fantasia (my favourites). After kids I stopped and now I wouldn't even be able to fit into my harness LOL. Anyway, it was nice to be down by the river again checking out the cliff face. I could have answered the questions without really going there but that isn't the point. Besides I wanted to get a photo to show we were there!! It was a lovely day to walk although Chikinlittle is training for the Kokoda Challenge on the Gold Coast and yesterday had done some serious running that her legs were killing her. She wasn't too pleased being dragged up and down the KP stairs. Good for her I say. Answers sent to CO. Here is our photo!
Been here a few times now with both Morgo and then Morgo and Probsty

We are visiting Brisbane on business and took the opportunity to go for a walk along the river path at Kangaroo point on the weekend. We checked out this earthcache on our way past and answered the questions but forgot to take a photo. This afternoon we happened to be on the river adjacent to the cliffs so took a snap on our way past. Answers sent.
Thanks for setting the earthcache.

#11324 - My Sunday afternoon stroll along the river led me to these impressive cliffs with their interesting history. Many walkers and climbers here, and even a wedding along the river. Studied the cliffs, and answers have been sent to CO.

After more than 3 weeks in Australia, it was time to return home. KellerClann suggested a brilliant idea of getting into the city centre for a ramble before my flight. After a trip on the CityCat, we did some exploring, found some caches and had some lunch and a beer. Interesting to see different earthcaches as the rocks/landscape differ so much around the world. TFTC
This was an unscheduled but a delightful walk along the river after missing a connecting flight to London. TFTC.
Found with The X-Trailers walking along the river today. A very interesting area which was busy todsy with school children learning to climb the surface. A fav point today. Answers forwarded for The X-Trailers and myself. TFTC

At a recent get together to paddle Hays Inlet, one of the participants mentioned making their next HUGE milestone a unique cache type during the Mega in Townsville…Well if that didn’t plant a little seed that sees me trying to get a couple of hundred caches in two weeks so I can make my little milestone something unique too…
Today I’m targeting Adventures between New Farm and Southbank and any other caches that I step over on the way past…
I remember the first time I saw these cliffs, it was a night, and the revelation at the time of what could be done with light was huge…

After appointments at the Children’s Hospital, my daughter Pinkypie05 and myself decided to walk along Kangaroo Point to get some lab caches. It was lovely to stay until dark and see the city lights. I also discovered this cache along the way so we gathered the information needed. Our answers were sent to the CO. TFTC and for bringing us here! I also needed a cache today for my calendar so I ticked that off too.
I visited here while doing the Bridge to Bridge and other caches. I have walked and run by these cliffs countless times over the years, and have abseiled down and climbed up with ropes. I remember as a child I was at the Mater Hospital, the view outside the window was of these cliffs, my first memory of this fascinating spot.
Thanks cslyoda and Palhocosmachado for the chance to explore these cliffs.

Enjoyed a walk along Kangaroo Point between the ANZAC Day Dawn Service and City march. Stopped to admire the climbers and the views of the skyline before moving on. Photo evidence attached with the city view behind me at GZ
Thanks for the cache. Had a great time researching about the history of the cliffs. Great spot!
What a great defining element of Brisbane’s geology! Thanks for providing so much history with this cache!
The 30/12/20 18:13 Was interesting to follow up and find out some of the buildings that contain the rock from this cliff face. Those prisoners certainly had it tough. Maybe if we had the same today, we wouldn’t see the recidivism that we have now . TFTC PALHOCOSMACHADO
30/12/20 18:21 i wanted to do this out of interest in the recreational climbing that goes on here. That and i find earth caches interesting. This earth cache even fills a slot on my Jasmer grid. It’s also close by to an entry point to source the location of a multi by a local Aussie Geocacher that made a pretty cool GIFF entry not long back. Thanks for the cache PALHOCOSMACHADO
Today may as well have been earth cache day! I was hunting 8 of them in a single day to meet a challenge I was working on. Had to venture over to the "dark side" to grab them. It was more than 30 degrees outside, felt like it was 50 degrees, and there was heavy smoke in the air from the Fraser Island fires. Oh, you have to be relatively crazy to be geocaching in weather like this!
This was the first earth cache for the day, and I felt so thankful to immediately snag a car park, as it is very busy and popular down there. Answers collected, roses smelled, and I was straight back to the geomobile for some air conditioning relief!

Decided I may as well send in the answers to this earth cache after sitting at cliffs watching my scouting son attempt to abseil. However, he didn’t manage and gave up
At least I could answer the questions and get this earth cache! And I never realised the kangaroo point cliffs were mined! I assumed they were natural & yet I have lived in Brisbane all my life! Shame on me!

my son and I had just finished a final inspection of a unit he purchased near here ( lucky him) and on our way home we decided to check out these cliffs. at gz we were standing looking at the cliffs with a pen and paper in hand to answer the questions when a young man came up and asked us what we were doing? I said" just looking at the cliffs". he kept asking me questions like " are you a geologist" so I asked him some questions. like how high do you think these cliffs are. he said lets ask the rock climbers , so we went over to ask them and they were enjoying answering all his questions . it was then that we could move on and enjoy the rest of the walk around here. in my research to answer the questions I found out my work which is in cartwright street Windsor there is a house in the same street that I have since found that was built with the bricks from a similar site at Windsor . I really enjoyed learning about this place . Thankyou for placing this earth cache here for us to enjoy
Answered the question while getting prepared for dome rock climbing near to here.

Our adventure really started a couple of years ago with our cruise booking and the savings plan. This year we arrived Feb 6 and had three days to explore Sydney before cruising with Kteeeee and Mr. Kteeeeee, MissPeach13 and MrPeach13 and WRTagalong. signed CCC. We had a great trip with no cases of Co-vid19. We arrived back to Sydney Mid march. The others flew home. WRT and I continued on. We had some time in Brisbane and then cut our trip short as the virus was causing too many challenges and our Country called us home. We stayed quiet and flew out the 25th arriving to a ghost city in Vancouver.
These caches are only being logged now that I am hooked up to the computer and I can find the caches I missed logging. If I have made an error please let me know if something seems wrong as time has passed and my memory is not what it used to be.
Thank you to all the Aussies who set out these caches, maintained them and to the Aussies who offered us shelter and long term shelter if we could not get home. If I had to be stuck anywhere in the world I would choose Australia!

I decided to come back into the city today; the weather forecast said it would be overcast. They were wrong. It was boiling again. Not quite sure how I managed a 15 km round trip from the centre, across to the south bank, down to Kangaroo point across Story bridge and back to the bus stop.
I had seen these cliffs from various bars across the water so I was happy to get a closer look today as this cache bought me here. I've sent my answers, hope they're ok.
