As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it's been a number of months since the last owner note. I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. DNF. I thought I was looking in all the right places. Note to self: remember to read previous logs before attempting the cache. That being said, I thoroughly enjoyed the walk out to GZ past those curious river shacks.
I believe that this one needs to be checked by the owner to confirm if it is still there or has walked. From the items at GZ it appears that somebody may be sleeping there.
Spent an enjoyable afternoon caching with mogni in Murray Bridge. Enjoyed the walk out to GZ and spent a very..very long time searching everywhere in the long grass / reeds with zilch success. Don't beleive we could have missed it! Thanks Sydney Kiwi
Sadly I think this one might be gone. We looked in all the obvious spots and then a few less obvious spots.
I searched everywhere without success. I looked deep inside the tree, flashlight on but no luck.
We took a stroll along the river after dinner at Fasta Pasta with Mrs C's brother, sister in law & 2 sons. The boys loved helping Mr C find the cache. TFTC.
Left a little doll and bouncing ball, found on same morning ass piggy in the jungle with hairnet
Of course I walk the wet and wild way don't I? :p

The final cache of the weekend. An enjoyable walk towards the cache.
Thanks Sydneykiwi for the cache.
Thanks Sydneykiwi for the cache.
Yes, hopefully this will remain safe from rising river levels. It was a busy area today with paddle-steamer, houseboat, canoes and walkers to contend with. Managed a find and sign without arousing suspicion. Nice little walk, too. TFTC
A very fresh walk along the river this morning, so made it a brisk walk!

Last day of a quick flying visit from Mexico with bogonghazy, who had this one in hand pretty quickly. I'm a tad vertically challenged and the reeds around GZ were as big as I am. LOL. Thanks to Sydneykiwi for another of your hides today.
Sully1 and I made the walk from the roads end to this one, and made a quick find after working our way through the head high reeds. A little precarious balancing act on the river's edge, but hey, it's a smiley, so well worth it.
Thanks again Sydneykiwi for the cache and the exercise

Found this one today during a day trip from Adelaide for some fishing and cache hunting! TFTC!
We parked at Long Island Reserve and, as we walked to the cache, we saw an echidna wandering about, sniffing here and there. Cute little fellow. A quick find. T: sticker L: smiley magnet. TFTC
Found during our fun but windy tube and knee-boarding camping holiday this Easter.

We had read the previous logs on this one and thinking that there may not be one there we prepared a new one complete with log book and stash note and followed nuvi to the end of the road. A couple of hundred meters later we found out that Nuvi had lied to us and that there was a parking bay a couple of hundred meters closer but it was a pleasant day for a walk along the river and we also found that some one had beaten us to the cache replacement. With the water lapping a the roots of the new caches grand old guardian we could see no sign of the old hiding spot, we feel that it will be awhile before this one has to be moved.
Thanks again Sydney Kiwi for the cache.

Wandered in and found the log book but no container so wandered back to the GeoMobile as we had a small but suitable container. Wandered back and signed the log and left an Eiffel Tower and wandered out again. Now that we have worked up an appetite we are off for a Dinner Cruise along the Murray.
Found the container without lid or log bk.
As had a small clip lock container and bk with me put this in it's place.
Will notify owner .
Caching towards the coorong with dayseekers.

Team caching at it's best, out and about with The Wild Gang and Team Scallywag to beat our most caches found in one day. Proud to say we did a whopping 91 caches found we had a really enjoyable day. TFTC TNLN SL
we found the location and the spot where it would have been hidden and we also found the cache, minus the lid and the contents, retrieved it from the reeds and placed it back where it should be and weighted it down.
My brother took us in his boat to this one, when we got there we only found the lid. Cache must have blown away. I've taken the lid but cache needs maintenance!
Good walk 1Geo kid didnt really like the walk scared of the water T Clapper L Beerstein SL TFTC.
(Formerly DavMal60) Read Mr. Squiggles log and did as he suggested about finding the track. It was then an easy walk and a quick find. Coords are now spot on. TFTC Sydneykiwi
found this out of sheer luck! looked everywhere around GZ even jumped across the water to a tree and climbed several metres up it overhanging the water and stuck my hand in some holes hoping for no spiders! was quite challanging and didnt even find the cache! eventually became too frustrated and decided to give up and head back! as i was walking back i noticed some grass was trampled leading to a big tree! although it was far away from GZ i thought i might as well have a look! and low and behold i found it! wasnt really happy about the coordinates not being any where near right but glad i never have to come back here again! best way to approach this one is by parking to the SE at long island reserve! stand at the boat ramp facing the water and to your left there will be a bit of a concealed path through some really tall reeds! beware of snakes! see attached coordinates for the actual location of the cache!
Looked for a bit but had to back out as I felt it wasn't safe. I will
Come back when I have a torch so I can look in those dark places. I didn't want to stick my hand around incase of spiders. I think I know where it is though.

Had three goes at getting this cache. The first was from the south - road closed. Second time from the north with approx 600 metre walk - did not have the latest co-ords. Third time "lucky" but by now the northern approach was partially under water as well. Was able to walk on slightly higher ground next to the road. Suspect that the higher bit will be under water soon. Thanks Sydneykiwi.
The council has erected a 'Danger - No Entry' sign due to the risk of river bank collapse.
After arriving near GZ I wanted to turn away and leave this cache because seriously this is a pure breeding ground for snakes (I would recommend not letting kids do this one) but after some peer pressure from my companion MtnLioness we persisted to walk along the small narrow trail to the cache - serious insanity, she clapped loudly to scare the snakes while I whinged and complained on the whole trek - Of all the caches I did today this one scared the crap out of me, I can see why it has not been logged since November.
Any way it has not been washed away and is still in tact. TFTC

Found in the company of ParisLaura on a cache spree to Murray Bridge in an effort to help me reach my 1000
Thanx for the smilie!
We see the entry to this and instantly Paris Laura pikes on me!
well, I thought, she has to follow me if I just jump over the initial ditch!
Off I go, clapping loudly in between a whinge and a complaint from Laura.
"This is bad, there will be snakes, Do you know what kind of snakes ill be in here?, I don't like this, can we go back?" etc etc
Clapping the whole way to scare any snakes, cos SURELY there would BE some through here!
We get half way, to a small clearing and she almost piked on me again! I say, we are halfway now, it is pointless to turn back!
Hahahaha, I wasn't as brave as I looked, inside, I was shaking ever so slightly!
the tall grasses and tiny walkway had my nerves up a bit too!
We get there....FINALLY, after unending clapping and whining to a hidey hole that only I...fully extended....could reach, just!
So, now the way back has more loud clapping and even more complaining!
LOL, What an adventure!
I actually applaud this one from you SydneyKiwi.
Keep this sort up! Me Likey!

Found while the 2 little Miss E's were at the swimming inter club. Saved Mr T from being bored and went caching instead. TNLNSL. TFTC.
This place is only safe if the tree doesn't fall over (like one about 100m downstream) [B)]!

I think the cache will not be flooded in it's current place. The entry road from the town end is closed so drove round to other end where in fact it is a short walk. Peaceful times on the Murray today. Thanks Sydneykiwi and family for cache.
Its back but in a slightly different location and not prone to the river rising and falling.

This one is definitely floating down the river. Thank goodness for the water rise. I will have to re-establish this one.
After a day spent caching the Strathalbyn/Kuipto area we had just enough light left in the day to go for this one. Entering from the Long Island boat ramp end it was a quick wander to the GZ. The poor old cache was looking a bit worse for ware. It looks as though the rising river level and/or recent rains have soaked into the container. The log was wet and it was only just possible to sign it. Thanks Sydneykiwi for a great cache ,,,,,, and despite the failing light and the rain my co-cacher Bronsen somehow avoided falling in !!!
TFTC, great little spot, although there are warnings of not to enter, dropped off a geocoin, half a world away.
Thought it was a great spot, because its a platypus and it feels like we were dropping it off close to its home.
edit: forgot to drop travel bug electronically...

Went looking for this one on our adventures. If you didn't know its on a "Riverbank Collapse/Slumping" area. Had a bit of a look but it didn't look very safe over there. So left it alone.
I enjoy a cache with a bit of difficulty and this was a good one. I read the description first so pretty much knew where to go and soon had the cache in hand. However I had to go back and get my pen, which I had left with my other items. Thanks Sydneykiwi for the fun.

Had a bit of fun climbing around on the Willows (that's where the GPS was pointing). Didn't read the cache description, did I?
Finally got the right tree, and figured out where I had to go. Piece of cake compared to what I had been doing on the willows
Thanks, Robmc.

Long story short - we found this cache literally floating in the Murray.
Short story long - Arrived near GZ and found the road blocked off with warning signs about collapsing river banks. Walked the 300m or so down to GZ (you can see the extra fenced off areas just past here where the problems with the band appear to be). Mrs TiedyeSmileys had the info on this and went to the most obvious spot and started looking. Mr TiedyeSmileys checked out his GPS and thought GZ was a bit further downstream. He called Mrs TiedyeSmileys (who had been unsuccessful and was about to scale great heights) over to the tree he was at. When she clambered out on to the tree she asked where the play area was (Mr TiedyeSmileys hadn't read the description). She was about to go back when her eagle eyes spotted something cache like bobbing in the water below. Sure enough, there was the cache floating upside down. Just managing to avoid soggy feet, Mr TiedyeSmileys retrieved it. Luckily, there was only a bit of moisture on the plastic outside of the log book.
The cache was placed back somewhere that seemed to follow what is written in the description of this cache.

I drew the shortish straw. I leaned out. They held the torches. Just as I was about to step back, they turned off the torches.
Where's my gun.
Clear skies from TeamAstro.
We removed all electronics from the cachers. Nice drive by, but not a drive through.
First find for day 2 of my trip.
It rained all night. The sleeping box got a bit wet even under the tarp.
Went to this one and scambbled out on the wet branch.
Thought about doing some breakfast but as soon as i started boiling some water down came the rain.
So much rain in December.

When I came into Murray Bridge last night I made up my mind that this cache would be my 6000th find.
I have cached more in SA this year than anywhere else and a lot of times along the mighty Murray so it seemed really important and appropriate that this cache should be the one.
I set out for this one at 6.45am today.
Heavy overnight rain had turned the tree slippery and my boots were coated in a fine layer of mud so the chances of taking to the water were high.
I left my goods and chattels on the bank just in case and inched my way across.
The cache was strewn everywhere in its niche. Somehow with one hand I put it all back in the container and miraculously it was all dry too. Log signed and with relief I made my way back to terra firma.
Perfect cache for the occasion.

Had fun searching high and low for this one, including all the cracks and holes, until SydneyKiwi showed up and let us know that it wasn't there. Had a nice chat with Sydney Kiwi and partner. Thanks for the chat and we look forward to helping you with next year's event.
I did not read the story of this one, a lesson well learnt. My geoson nearly stepped on a medium sized local snake. So we did not spend much time around here. We also had the local country fire service trying to do some filming of their new machinery. maybe we will try again on our next trip to the area.
Well there's really only one spot for it! My GPSr didn't have this road on its maps so I took bit of a gamble that this was the way to go. I parked within about 20m, nice! Some fancy footwork had me hovering above the cache and I was able to log it while hanging on tight. I thought about dropping in a couple of TBs but I didn't like the idea of them being lost to the water below should someone drop the cache.
Thanks, a fun cache to find.
