As there's been either no response from the cache owner, no cache to find or log to sign, or it's been a number of months since the last owner note. I'm archiving it to keep it from continually showing up in search lists, and to prevent it from blocking other cache placements. If you wish to repair/replace/make available the cache sometime in the near future (next 30 days), just contact us (by email), and assuming it meets the current guidelines, we'll be happy to unarchive it. Should you replace the cache after 30 days has passed please create a new cache listing so it can be reviewed as a new cache.
I'm planning on helping the CO with a bit of maintenance very soon and should have it back up running again.

due to issues with reflectors and the cache this one will be unlisted for a little time, if I don't find time to get there to fix it up It will be archived. Cheers
This being a work site where I undertake bush regeneration, this cache had been on my radar for a year, but getting back here at night was an issue. Tonight I went for that stroll. With all the reflectors missing, I was glad that I had a fair idea where I had to head.
Will try to get back to dry out the record book.
Was an interesting story in the earlier records about the ammo can that got washed away and found by someone who knew what we where about.
Microbats and insects where about the only wildlife out tonight.

The reflectors were a bit sparse in places, and I spotted many unmarked junctions that the descriptions didn't mention. I had to backtrack at one point, and lucky I did as I saw the gz indicator in a place I did not expect.
The container is not water-proof enough for the location. The container had water inside, and the snap-lock bag for the log was open. I was going to place a path tag here, but not with the amount of water in the cache.
Thanks for the nocturnal journey.

My son was on a surveying job near Cumberland Hospital and found the original ammo can with "Nocturnal" written on it. He left it where it was but if he goes back I'll ask him to collect it. I sent a note to the CO. The cache is still alive - the ammo can was replaced with a sistema in 2013.
That is amazing if the cache container has in fact washed that far down stream... and over a year ago!

Stopped by on my way home from work, right around dusk. Armed only with the flash-torch from my iphone, I wondered whether it would be worth trying for it. I went ahead anyway. Made it to WP2 easily, and then just went with my gut. Not including the trio at the end, my phone only picked up 2 tacks along the way. For a few of the junctures I just went with instinct. Anyway, no wet feet for me, and found the cache reasonable easily once at GZ. Thanks so much for this one, it was fun

This was the last night cache I did with artemidorus1 and midmy7. The torches that artemidorus1 and midmy7 shared with us were very good. artemidorus1 was brave enough to walk ahead and make sure that we were on the right track. My dad pointed us in the right direction and midmy7 found it.
I was a little sad we didn't find a TB for midmy7.
On the way back artemidorus1 showed a Tawny frog mouth to us.

Found as the last of a series of three nocturnal caches this evening, with Felix the spy, monkeydoodle_k, and her father. Be careful with the northward paces! -you'll see why. A couple of pretty tired eight year olds when we finished at eleven o'clock. Thanks for the cache.
My son and I searched unsuccessfully for this cache 1 year and 1 day ago, and I'd been looking forward to returning to finish the job. I was in the area for my twice-annual dental checkup, and after making a long work phone call in the car decided I didn't really have time for this cache, but went in anyway. I followed the (sort-of) familiar track, enjoying seeing them by day this time, until I got back to GZ. I first searched "in there", as I had during our previous attempt, with no luck, but when I checked another spot saw a familiar caching sign, and was happy to get CIH. I signed the log, replaced the log, then returned back to my car and reality. Thanks for the cache!
Arrived just on dusk and began the trek to GZ. The torch I had was pretty pathetic and I only discovered about 3 markers all the way to GZ. Fortunately the clues and a bit of common sense helped. It was quite dark by then and my pathetic torch made the final approach to GZ somewhat hazardous. I was starting to think I might have to return in daylight when I saw some telltale caching signs and made the find. Notebook was damp and interior of containers quite wet. Was able to sign log and return as found before stumbling back to the car in the gloom.

Hoping to stretch this one out until after midnight no such luck even with going way past the last tack we still made it to the cache and back to the car by 11:45pm, looks like I need to do another one tonight. SL #1265 cache was wet and the contents were rusting the TBs and the cache sheet, log book was ok. Removed the ruined swag and dried out the cache as best I could. TFTC
Really enjoyable cache...took TB's and will log them in the morning as i have left them in the car, anyway TFTC
Awesome cache. This one gets a fav point. CJ and found this one tonight whilst heading home from the Hills District.
We love night caches and we have also been wanting to knock this one off our Sydney 'night cache' list. Thankfully at night there are no muggles out there on the trail or at the GZ. It wasn't too hard to find the markers and we made quick time to the waypoints. When we spotted the 3 markers described, we followed the instructions and bingo, there was the cache! It was wet inside, so after signing the log CJ drained it and we sealed it as best we could. We discovered the TB's there, but didn't retrieve them as we had nothing to leave. We really liked this one.
Anyway, it was a satisfying find and a great evening to chase down more night caches. Thanks ruffasgutts4x4 for your cache. SL TNLN TFTC

Found with AM on our second night cache. Perfect temperature for a walk in the woods. Cache was full of brown water, but log was fairly dry in its plastic bag. Discovered some TBs but left them there as we did not have any to swap. SL&R after dumping out water. TFTC! Fun!
Enjoying this night cache business! Good fun! You must be a pretty tall guy RAGS! TFTC.
2nd night cache for the evening with Dinkyfish & Waterfist.
We took a bit of time at WP2 trying to figure out which way to go, but after a few minutes followed the likely direction and spotted the markers. From there the choices were a bit easier. The path needs a little care at night, even with 3 torches. Spotted a spider, heard some rustling in the bush but didn't spot any other "residents". GZ was straight forward and an easy CIH. All was dry and clean. Left a TB, & SL.

WP2 was a bit tricky, needed to trust our instincts before discovering we were on the right track.... literally. TFTC!
GeoSon and I dropped by and changed the logbook (transcribing the latest and only entry since the new cache was installed). We placed the new book in a ziplock bag as suggested.
Got here a bit early (just before 8pm) with GeoSon, and we had to wander up and down a few times before it became just dark enough for us to spot the first reflector. As per others, explored up and down each option, until we reached GZ.
Unfortunately water has gotten into the new cache container, not a lot, but it has made the log book quite damp. You might have to ask Fabfamof4 to come back to put it in a zip lock bag after drying it (I didn't have one with me).

Thanks to the great efforts of Fabfamof4 creating a new cache container and placing it in a new safer spot close by (on a rather wet day I might add) this cache can now be enabled.

I do apologise for the inconvenience I may have caused with this cache out of action.
I am working with a fellow cacher to get this cache up and running.
new container a few more reflectors and so forth.
I will do my best to have it up and running in the next week or so.
Kindest regards ruffasgutts4x4.

Working on this one for the time being, will be back up within a fortnight hopefully!!!
Saw that this one has not been found lately and since it is close by the Geokids and I wandered in for a look see - yep it's gone - well at least it is not where it was when we found it over 12 months ago - could have been washed away by the nearby creek when we had very heavy rain a little earlier in the year.
It would be good to have this one back in place as geomum has not had the pleasure of strolling through the bush at night to find this one yet - we won't make her go alone though
Happy to reinstate the cache box for you if it is tricky for you to manage - it is a pretty short trip for us

Geokid8 suggested we attempt a night cache, which was fairly unusual as he hadn't really enjoyed the only other one we've done, but I took the opportunity presented. Tonight was the best choice, given the early sundown, relatively warmish conditions and lack of alternative dates for a while.
We parked nearby and headed into the bush. It had been drizzling, but it was dry while we're we walking, and the path wasn't muddy. We got to WP2, and I took an educated guess as to the direction. The lad wasn't convinced, and was trying to persuade me to turn around until we saw the first tack. It was then simply "follow the path" until the decision points, which again didn't prove too problematic given the likely destination.
When we got to the final tacks I spotted the likely area of the hint, and we headed in. I sent GK8 in first, but he decided he wasn't a fan of the spot so "delegated" back to me. I had a good look around, but couldn't find anything other than a few drink bottles. We headed back to the marker-point, and saw another potential spot a bit further back, so worked our way around to that, but couldn't get down, so decided it was either hid better than we could see (requiring a day visit?), or alternatively has disappeared in the 10 months since it was last found.
Thanks anyway.

While my Fiancee was heading into the city for her Hen's night, what was I to do but go out caching of course! So armed with the torch and Geotooter also in tow we set off to locate this cache.
Followed the track as instructions suggested and then hmm decision time.. Looked for a bit but could not locate anything obviously pointing the right way. Ah ha - what's that.. Geotooter, your going the wrong way, see. It's this way. Trusting our senses that we should continue to follow the path we came across a handful more clues although they did seem to be quite apart.. but this is a ruffasguts4x4 cache after all and of course it wasn't going to be exactly straight forward.
Luckily it hadn't been raining lately so there was no feet getting wet and we soon had the cache in hand.
Unfortunatly didn't find any barn owls or otherwise as indicated in the notes, but did really enjoy the cache and the find.
I do really enjoy the night caches as they provide something a little different and I also appreciate the additional effort that goes into setting it up.

2010 Stopped by as I'd loaded a LOT of harder caches of NSW into my GPS, but didn't have any cache notes here. Thought: Multi? or Firetack, but didn't have a WP2 loaded, so missed out. It would have been fun.
Absolutely awesome cache, we did this in the dark and had a great time!
Pretty muddy and lots of tripping hazards, so be very careful doing this one after the sun sets.
Be sure to take a powerful torch and look up for those tacks, which are critical for success.
What a great location. Thanks for the cache.

As muggles we have been walking this track to the local oval for years and never knew this was here.
This is the BEST geocache we have done - geomum was left at home cooking a beautiful roast lamb - we will take her back here another night to experience this great cache. Well done and we hope you have created more like it.
Geodad and geoson will whip back down here during the day to add more cammo as it looks a little bare.

Despite the previous logs and the description which suggested not attempting this cache on a wet night we ignored the advice at our peril and waited for a gap last night after torrential rain. The rain stopped and we headed off to bag this one with Mudflap Kimbo. On the short journey to the parking WP we encountered yet more of the wet stuff but decided to brave it anyway.
We succumbed to the river on two occasions with both Mudflap and Kimbo walking back with squelchy shoes.
Enjoyed the find and even Geowife Wendy didn't mind this one!!!

This cache was recently recommended to me by TheBidgies so I had it elevated to the top of my To-Find List. Tonight was the night, so I teamed up with mat41174 and we set off on the adventure.
The track was quite muddy in parts but we managed to navigate our way in following the markers and dodging the soggy ground. It was a still night, so the walk in was quite peaceful with just the sound of distant owls and the trickling stream. Once reaching the triple tack marker we were one torch down but headed straight to GZ and had a half-hearted look around, perhaps hoping the cache wasn't where we expected it to be. After skirting around GZ the decision was made to have a proper look. Sure enough it was soon spotted and after some more procrastination I attempted to extract the cache. A large black spider had to be encouraged to leave the area and then cache was in grasp shortly after. We took nothing but signed the very fresh looking log book and replaced the cache and camo.
With our second torch fading we decided to take a shorter route out of the bush (local knowledge helped here) and walked back to cars via surrounding streets.
If I can offer one piece of advice for this cache, it would be to wear something old or something borrowed. I wore something blue and it got very dirty!

This was our 1st night cache. I had been keen to attempt this one for sometime but never seemed to get around to it. Then it went missing and off line for awhile, so when it was put back up and running, decided last night was the night. Armed with 3 torches just as well as our main 1st torch crashed just 50 metres from WP2.
Backups turned on, geo-son and I pushed on and made all the right choices following the tacks to the final three. Geo-son checked direction and advised me it should be over there, he was spot on.
Thanks ruffasgutts4x4 for the experience which we both enjoyed. TNLNSL.

FTF second time round!! I know it doesn't count though. Found this one at night as ruffasgutts4x4 insisted and didn't find it as bad as I thought it was but I still prefer to do them in the day! Geodad found it but couldn't quite seem to get it out at first but eventually got it. We signed the log and geobro couldn't decide what to takeand ended up taking the ball as we put in our swap. We have had our eye on this one for a while, and were happy to see that it has been resurrected. With daylight savings coming to an end we planned to do this with the geokids at an hour that was not too far past their usual bed time. With no plans set for this school holiday evening we made tentative plans to do this tonight. Then this afternoon we ran into the CO at another cache, and he was such a friendly cacher we just had to do this cache tonight. We found the WPs easily, the tacks were clear and visible. Upon approaching GZ geodad said “well it’s not going to be under there!”, to which geomum replied “Yep – it’s under there!”. We had the cache in hand a few seconds later. We opened the log and discovered that we were the second cachers to make the find today. Go figure! This cache has been found just eight times in the last year, and then twice today! Signed log, and swapped some stickers for a stack of dinosaurs. This was an awesome caching experience, a real school holiday adventure that will be remembered by the geokids for ages. Thanks Ruffasguts4x4, a definite favourite!
Ready for action again, please be careful to return the cache the same way you found it.
A torrent of water could come through here but if the cache is returned correctly it will stay hidden and stay put!
Enjoy!!

Be careful too as I saw some would be muggles on the other side of the creek. fortunately we were on our way out as they made their way up the rocks on the other side.

Will try to replace it inside the next 2 - 3 weeks Thanks for the heads up!

Checked out this one in the day because I'm not really a night cacher and found WP1 but couldn't find any clues or anything so we just kept going through the track and found what we thought was WP2 but didn't find any clues there. We chose the correct way and after a while we found some tacks and kept following them. We got to another junction and chose our way and sure enough we were right. We found a few more tacks and followed them to the last few ones. Got the clue and thought yep its under there. We didn't have the coordinates so we just looked at the places where it could be, but we didn't find it. The water looked high so maybe the cache could need maintenance. We tried to put a cache around here a week earlier and didn't realise this one was here and we were told it was too close. Anyway, we didn't find it and may come back another day.
I've wanted to do this one for some time, so when we had some time last night, it seemed like a good time to finally get to this spot. We parked opposite a house that was so well lit with christmas lights that I had no concerns about finding our way back out again, I figured we'd just be able to head towards the lights .
Got to WP2 with no problems, and it didn't take too long to pick the right direction to head. The trail was well marked & easy to follow, but a trifle wet in places thanks to all of the recent rain.
Once we had found GZ the cache was easily located, unfortunately because it looks like muggles have got to it. It was exposed, the lid wasn't shut & it was filled with foul smelly water/mud. However the log book was still secure in its ziplock bag & dry. We rescued the TB from the cache, but had nothing with us to do anything about the cache itself. We put it back a little less exposed than it had been, but from previous descriptions probably not in the correct spot. It needs a check up & maintenance.
Thanks for the fun cache ruffasgutts4x4, this is only my second night cache & I enjoy them .

Having stayed up until 1:30 am watching movies two days ago, and having stayed up until 1am on Christmas Eve to wrap presents, a quiet night curled in front of the television watching our latest movies we got for Christmas would have seemed the logical thing to have done. But no, we are geocachers, and there was a day on the calendar without a find.
Toriaz suggested this one, which was a bit of a drive from Springwood, but we headed out and soon found ourselves at the start of the track with nearby houses still blazing out their Christmas glory.
The tacks were very easy to follow and we managed to avoid all the giant arachnids that like building their webs across the track. When we found the tree with the three markers I dutifully projected the waypoint, although it wasn't too hard to work out. Besides, we found the cache in a poor state, out in the open with the lid open. It smelled bad with creek water in it. The contents, except for the log book in its protective plastic, were ruined. We rescued a travel bug and will have to give it a clean up. I tipped the water out of the cache, closed it and re-hid it in what seemed to be its intended hiding spot.
Despite the sad state of the cache, this was a fun experience. Thanks Rags

Attempted to find this one pussinboots, but seems someone has taken up residents in the location. Will be back!!!
This was the big one for the night and given the misadventures reported by Alfyboy I approached this with a little trepidation.
I should not have worried though as the directions and path were very straightforward. Once at GZ though things got very tough for someone who is 6'4"!! My Geoson and mate refused to get down and dirty so it was left to the big guy to root around.
Used native ingenuity to construct a retrieval device and had a great traditional cache in hand quickly after.
SL and took GC and TB, Left TB.
A very enjoyable night time adventure with my son. Get a favourite from me!

Wet and foggy night made for nice caching conditions. Followed the tacs pretty easily and found cache quickly, although it was a little harder to get to than it was to find. Dropped TB, TFTC
Epic epic epic, done at night with holyman54. Absolutely loved this one. Lots of photos and so fitting for my 200th find. I recommend anyone try this!
Update log. Unhappy that I couldn't sign the log, I returned with an armful of 'tools', or did I? Fashioned a tool from some sticks and stones, made a fire with flint to keep me warm, found a dead carcass to make a sleeping bag....Or did I?
Let's just say that I returned, I did get dirty AND bloody. But managed to finally grab cache, SL, check contents, drop DNF Troll Geocoin (very fitting, for me) and replaced cache in exactly the same place again. Thanx rags4x4, great ending to this cache hunt. I recommend it, and Favorite it as well !!! TFTC.

So I needed to come back and while I was very close by doing another cache, I decide to check this in daylight. Good thing I did. I got to GZ, which always does look different in daylight than night time. I started to search and the rubbish, sticks etc are still there. I won't say any more descriptive, and will PM the CO and send him some pics of GZ and the cache.
I did find it, that's the good news, and the bad news it that at the moment it is inaccessible without the right tools. So while I found the cache in what looks like a safe n sound place, there is no way to reach it, unless you have small children willing to do your dirty work for you. So at the moment log has not been signed. The pic will prove my finding the cache, but RAGS if you don't want me to log a find, I can remove it. Definitely a great night cache. TFTC.

WOW, so came back for another attempt at 10.30pm. This time I found GZ. Last time I was using the 2 tacks, so no wonder I missed it.
At gz I made the direction and tried over and over to get the metres right. For 40min I wondered up and down, in and out all around but just couldn't locate cache. TAF (txt a friend) and pjmpjm gave me some clues. One problem. There has been massive rains and floods here. Right where gz is, there is now rubbish, sticks, bamboo type things, and only about 1-2 feet of space. Without giving too much away, let's just say it might now be buried. I could barely get there to check.
Anyone in the area or CO that can maybe take a peek and see if cache is OK as I am left wondering...otherwise RAGS, it's a great hide

Finishing a work meeting in Dural earlier than I expected, I made a quick decision to drive to this well-known Northmead cache, long at the top of my 'to do' list. In fact, I arrived at WP1 before dark and had about half an hour to walk up and down the quiet bushland near WP2 and get 'the lay of the land' and enjoy the scenery. I tried to figure out where the cache might be hidden and made a couple of guesses.
I was back at WP2 as darkness fell, walking back and forth, checking everywhere for the fire tacks. I'd done all of the Sydney area night caches except for this one and 'Bright Eyes' so thought I knew what to look for -- but to my growing despair, no little lights were visible. Finally, a walk some distance down what I guessed was the 'wrong way' completely ruled out that option and left only one other direction to search. Triple-checking my WP2 coordinates, I decided that the only two remaining possibilities were a muggling of the tacks, or a 'start tack' further on from WP2 than I expected.
I really hoped for the latter -- and so it was! I was celebrating when that first little light appeared high up in a tree, nearly 100 metres from WP2, probably watched by some bemused native animals. After that, the rest of the walk was relatively easy, just following the CO's directions.
The final 'three tack' compass bearing exercise took me a few minutes, but once approached, even by torchlight, GZ was obvious. I'll admit that accessing it took a bit of doing in the pitch dark, but access it I did and found an excellent classic cache container, in very good condition, nice and dry. TNLNSL.
Extricating myself carefully after completing the formalities, I slowly made my way back to WP1 with my tiny torch barely holding out. (I went through two torches on this adventure.)
My advice is to take literally the CO's initial advice about making a decision at WP2 -- and then go for it. You might not see the tacks until it's very dark. But in the pitch darkness they really do stand out quite well. There aren't a lot of them, but there are enough.
This cache is getting one of my favourites. It was a lot of fun and I encourage everyone to try it. If you're not up to wandering around in the thick bush in total darkness by yourself, like I did, assisted only by unseen owls and possums, then bring a friend or family member. You won't forget this one!
Many thanks to RAGs for an exemplary geocache!

Loved this walk but once we read the description we decided that we should do it early evening, rather than wait for complete darkness - really glad we did! It was harder to spot the tacks but I don't think that we would have gone in for the cache in total darkness (lots of webs to get through and needed to use a long stick to help get it out ). By the time we walked out it was dark enough to need the torches so we looked back at all the tacks we missed and were so impressed with the effort put into this one. Swapped a popper for a rosary. TFTC
Night time cache, in the area, ok. Alone, check, torch, check, gps with good batteries check. Got to WP2 and after a little confusion of the markers, took a stab as there really was only 1 way to go from there. Followed and the 'lights' appeared. Once i got to GZ though, I could not get the gps to switch settings to check co ords properly, so spent around 30min guessing a few directions and the hint didn't help. Now I have GZ, while it's a shame, I will come back during the day to find this one...damn you night time Was nice though, with the night time sounds, and noises about.
While my eldest son was at St Marys for a recovery session. I had two hours to drive and complete this cache.
Found the parking spot and the start of the track easily and followed this fairly quickly to WP2. From here, first one way, then the other, then back the firsy way before I saw the first firetack. At the next junction I guessed the right one first time but I could not find the next point. After too long with no firetack, I turned around and looked for the post not the tacks. Found the post, then the elusive tacks. From here the cache was a simple find, that I expected to be much, much worse.
Back to pick up the boy. Mission accomplished with ten minutes to spare.
TNLNSL. TFTC.
I thought this could do with a few more tacks, but if you are prepared for there not to be too many, it is challenge that is easily do-able. (So maybe it is me who made the assumption!?!)

Not really knowing where we were going to end up or what we would find along the way, I turned on the track logging on the Oregon just to be on the safe side and with JABs having the only working torch we headed off. Following the instructions we found the first of the junctions and the right way to go was quickly spotted. With the nearby creek making the only constant noise and the occasional joyous squeal of some kids in the distance, we managed to find our way along the snaking trail, past another few junctions, following the indicators and eventually arrived at a nice, tranquil spot and the end of the indicators.
Having forgotten to change the heading on the Oregon's compass a second attempt was made at the caches final instruction before making the well hidden find.
A truly great experience was had in finding this cache.
Thanks to ruffasgutts4x4 for putting this cache out there for us to hunt.

Ok this cache is possibly the hardest one for us to write a log on of the all the ones we visited over the weekend. Why? Maybe it was the strange animals that were meet along the way, was it the new torch I had? or just the warm weather?
But a walking we did go to the sounds a creek bubbling by and some kids in the distance. After the first junction was found we snaked along the path until we came across a second cross track but this was not to be and on we pushed until this hidden swim hole was found.
This a gem of a spot that needs to be visited.
JABs.

Only one problem doing this cache at night...whets the appetite to come back and see what it looks like in daylight. One of the best night caches I have done and not all that hard. Wow, those tacks are high! Thanks RAGS for a great adventure. Left a TB
thankyou for the cache (: Doing them with friends and at night certainly change the experience! Great Job (:
Oh just a edit: Someone left cigarettes in the cache... This seems a little silly given that children might be seeking this too.. Please don't do that again ):

Was a little lost in the beginning as we had not recorded the WP2 co-ordinates, figured if we walked far enough we'd hopefully find us a tack or two. Thankfully that was the cache, and after an enjoyable walk and almost fruitless search came up with the goods. Really enjoyed the variation from the standard cache find. Thanks heaps!
This was the reason for our night caching run tonight. 6 caches with this one last so it was nice and dark on a moonless night. Was difficult and a good chalange for our first night tac cache. Got to GZ and looked for over 1/2 and hr and was going to give up when Daniel 2:22 looked in a spot I had already searched, but his eyes and keen sense ratted it out of it's hiding spot. Thanks Ruffasgutts 4x4 for 2 good and chalanging caches tonight. Left the Jeep # 2052 TB from Nth Queensland that I picked up a few weeks ago but could not find a cache big enough for it. TFTC.
I checked on this one today, all reflectors and the cache are still in position.
Please make sure plenty of camo is used when replacing the cache! Thanks

Great night cache, took nothing left glow stick and pen as the one with the log was not working. Cache was basically in the open and had no camouflage so put back and covered up. TFTC

We found this on "Blossom* and Strike-a-light's Halloween Cache Chase"! Halloween seemed the perfect time to find a few of the night caches in Sydney and it was so much fun! Each of the caches seemed to have the fire tacks placed in slightly different ways which made it more interesting too. We bobbed our heads this way and that in the search for the path and were left amazed that RAGS was able to carry a 40 foot extension ladder so far and for so long! Otherwise, how on earth could he have placed the fire tacks there?
We could hear the screams in the nearby streets from the kids playing halloween games as we tracked our way to gz. The cache was found with no trouble and we decided it was very thoughtful to have a few swaps that would be useful if you'd taken a quick unexpected bath in the creek on the way over. Luckily, we had no trouble in that area and we made our way back to the car, still pondering the ladder riddle.
TFTC RAGS, it's great. Put a few more night ones out there for us to enjoy

I had been wanting to do this night cache for a while. I even had it on my watch list since it was posted.
I now had the chance and with 3 Fossgirls each with torches we all made our way along the track towards WP2. We were quickly on the cache trail as the girls raced ahead to spot the reflective markers. Any geo-stealth we had was left back at the car as each of them shouted and argued the whole way as to who saw the markers first. The girls followed the markers, I followed the commotion and eventually we were all at the triple marker for us to then work out the caches hiding spot. The last thing I needed right now was for one of my companions to take an unexpected night swim so after regaining what little control I had over them I told them to stay put while I went in for the cache. We all examined the contents and did the log duties before returning the container back to its hidey hole. On the way back after the creek crossing, one of the girls is now scared of the dark. I am now wondering what else could possibly be left in the bush for her to be scared of. With those 3 mouths, 3 torches and a lantern we were like an Acca Dacca concert in Vegas. It seemed like we had the bush to ourselves because the only other thing I saw or heard was one little spider who was quivering in its web on the whole journey in and out. Other than that, the bush was vacant. The trek out was made easy with the aid of tracback and we were soon back at the car.
This was my 150th cache and for obvious reasons, my most memorable.
TNLNSL&TFTC. [:o)]
Also keep an eye out for my add on Ebay for 3 geo-kids. I'll throw in the torches.

I got a tip about this one before it was placed, but my nights are so busy these days that it wasn't until now that I had time to do it.
The walk to WP2 was easy. Bright sparkling reflections from the quartz crystals in the sand that lined the path made it quite pretty. The reflectors, while a little elusive, were easy to spot. As RAGs says in the description, if you don't see them straight away just walk a bit further. Once I made it to the final set of reflectors, I had to re-orientate myself northwards and then spotted the obvious location.
After signing the log, I debated whether to take the TB. Seeing it had been there for long enough I grabbed it.
As I returned to the car I concluded that this is a very well executed night time cache and one that I recommend to others.

First ever night cache, accompanied by DeputyDog who introduced me on how to find night caches. Enjoyable walk even with a little a bit of rain, made it more natural in the middle of suburbia. Enjoyed rumaging through spider webs and over the creek at night to finally find GZ. TFTC
Very windy chilly night with a hint of rain in the air made the trip to GZ and back a little faster than normal.
Nicely put together cache with monkey RAG's well placed reflectors to lead the way.
GZ was found fairly quickly whilst I was still trying to figure out Zero degrees the Geopups had the cache located
and busy extracting it....
Thanks for a very enjoyable night cache and highly recommended.

WOW what a fun night, really easy. Will admit that knowing this bush really did help, young geokid was not impressed to have to retreive though (last time he played here he was spooked by a very large spider lol). had walked this very track only 2 days before posting, spoke breifly to a guy with abseil gear who said he was placing a camera in tree - now im really curious as this tree looks down towards gz, they might not get the night life they were hoping for need to learn the skill of watching where im going whilst looking up for reflectors - note that head lamps work better than mag torchs

Absolutely no problems on this nice night time walk, aside from the mozzies at GZ.
Good thing we bought a mini cacher to extract the cache.
Have you been undertaking tree climbing lessons from the possums again RAGS or did you take your 3 metre alum ladder to complete the setup?
Either way the images are worth a giggle.

we found this one with rogpol in toe. we have learnt very early on to always take a geokid with us to caches. they are the ones that fit into tight spots, can be lifted up into high places and a great covers in parks and high muggle areas especially as people do not pay them any attention. this henced served us well as he became our extraction device. thanks RAGs team casho love night caches and this one was great we too can just picture you wondering through the bush carrying a ladder under your arm lol
TB Drop and a quick test to make sure it's all OK, My 13 year old daughter found it with no more help than whats in the cache description. Let us know what you think though!
I'm still not sure there's enough camo I'd hate to see it muggled.

Well who am I to argue with my conscience [?]
THIS IS WHAT IT'S ALL ABOUT...
What the ??? Is this pay back for Chatswood Night Cache [?] It is like a Labyrinth down here !!! I love it though [^]
I parked up top and made my way down to WP2. It was very pleasant descending and feeling the temperature drop coupled with the cool breeze. Deciding that downstream would be the better option I followed onwards. HOLY COW!!! How the heck did you get them up there? Adjusting the head torch made things more easier and I was on my way.
You can't really get lost following the tacks if you have done other Night Caches. They are well placed to keep the interest level high and the distance between them has been well judged. Arriving at the first of the DOUBLES made for only a slight pause, spotted the next one and I was on my way again. After a while the next DOUBLE appeared and it was quick scan that caused me to come undone. But then I realised how important it is when one sets up a cache, to use those Attributes. They can really save your bacon if they are used right. Saw the "feet wet" symbol, and another strategic scan gave it away.
Across I went and found the TRIPLE. One handy tool on the Garmin Colorado is the "Sight n Go" feature. I set the magnetic bearing, entered the distance and low and behold, a projected waypoint!!! Followed the pointer and I was there in a flash.
Then the fun began. I clearly took the wrong approach getting to GZ. Read the hint, found a gap in the rocks and down I went, squeezing myself into the small space. I was thinking all along, "Deputy Dog is gonna have a problem". No offence Wayne.
Squeezed myself, yet again, to retrieve the cache, and it was Party Hard Club as I opened the Ammo Box.
Woo Hoo... Yeah!!! FTF
I sat there for a while carrying out the log duties and took a moment out to pause and take in where I was and the sounds of the Bush at night. Truly a lovely experience.
Thank you Phil for a great adventure. I really enjoyed it, learnt something new and came away with quite a few mozzie bites [xx(]
I made sure that I covered it over with a fair amount of natural local material when I left. It is a hard spot to get to, and even if one does the amount of stuff over it should keep it safe. I guess you could always tie a small length of rope to it, place it well back in the hide location, cover the entrance and cover the rope slightly?
