I almost gave up given how jumpy my GPS was being in this area, but given how recently it had been found I persisted and was triumphant! It wasn't where I expected it to be, so it took me quite a while.
Brief trip to Paekak, so brought Aurora11511 to this cache in case her monkey abilities were required. Very impressed with the size of this tree and can see why the kids love it. Aurora11511 shot straight up it, and up, and up, until I squeaked at her to come back down. While I spent ages in the place I thought the hide might be, the geotween backtracked to the grass, followed the instructions and then had the cache in her hands in a few seconds (grrr!).As I spend more time in this park, the geocaches keep taking me to more and more interesting places that I would otherwise be missing.TFTC joandra
Second visit to this site - first attempt thwarted by many muggles. GPS took a while to settle under the trees, but hint did make sense. All safe and dry. Thanks for the placement.
Been here a few years ago with no find. Today gps took me to the same tree. After picking up after the dog my phones gps really settled and then took me to the right spot Thanks
No luck here although all 4 of us kept looking. Good location but of course muggle prone
One of the last caches I found while wandering the area.
A muggle family were nearby getting set-up for a bike ride, so sat on the nearby table and outwaited them.
Then ducked up the short slope when the coast was clear not long later.
Didn't take too long to spot the cache.
Took the trackable along with me for my trip to Australia tomorrow.
Thanks joandra for hiding and maintaining a cache at this random tree.
Personally I prefer trees I can really get into and climb around on, this gums way too smooth and awkward for anything more than a short climb sadly, or I probably would have gotten my monkey on.
Cheers!

Almost gave up, finally found it after looking at photos. The tree it is under has died so area may look a bit different. Any paint that was on container has now worn off.
Camping next door so we thought that we'd check the cache we found last year, but couldn't find it this time around. The sewerage dumped further up the hill is pretty gross too. Yuck.
Cache was in the open, hard to see amongst fallen leaves, we presume it Had been dislodged and rolled down hill a bit. We Put it back in a location a few meters up hill from where it lay, in a location that matched the description, clue and GPS as close best we could. May not necessarily be in the exact location it was originally hidden in.
No luck today.
Hmm signs indcating the area is out of bounds and used for sewage dumpimg were not a good start. And then the cache couldn't be seen either.
Next time.......

Went out for some space after the 6.3 quake which was a good roller. Sounded easy but will have to return. Thanks joandra
Yay! Found it - thanks to Danosaur37's log. Dropped off a trackable here. What a fabulous tree in a fantastic park. TFTC
Can really only see it from a certain direction but a relatively easy find. Tftc!
This was our first experience geocaching. We were about to give up but had one last attempt at following the clues and found it. Signed the logbook and replaced where we found. The adventure begins!
Was looking in the wrong place found it by chance. Cool little cache gems
OMG third time lucky! Had to check out the trees as per previously posted photos!
A nice little walk with the fur monsters this morning, a lot of fun was had by all on the climbing tree. Picked up TB and will help it on its adventures. Thanks for the cache
I just remembered to add this photo of enjoying some of the treasures we found in the cache
Awesome hide. Found it with the phenomenal KTG. The GPS seemed to be off a little bit. But we put it down to being under the tree tops. Really awesome treasures for the kiddies to find also. Have left yhem all as they were after giving them them bit of a play with myself. Lol. TFTC
Found with after a bit of searching, after initially placing too much trust in my phone’s GPS. Hint was helpful to eventually get us to the right place.
Unfortunately this time it has been snaffled by pesky muggles. I'm replacing this afternoon, so should be all good to go again. Happy geocaching!
Had a little look but little 14month didn't want to wait round. He enjoyed sitting in the tree though!
Out with Geeves90 (who has already found the cache) and Kowhai Guides doing a weekend camp.
Well my GPS has sent me in the wrong direction the last times we've looked but got it today! Very cool! TFTC
What a cool tree! Thanks heaps. Thrilled to find this -especially after last 3 were dnfs. That’s 17/20 today
Out of water and out of puff=heading home!

Thought we'd try this one again since it'd been found recently but still no luck. We were definitely hunting in the wrong spot last time but still nothing. Found a pencil on the ground so wonder if it may have been muggled ?
Was expecting a bit of a longer hunt, but no. Second place I looked. All good, tftc!
The cache is still there! In fact, when I went to check on it, it was lying out in the open. Safely popped back in it's hidey hole. Read the clues carefully so you don't fall down a rabbit hole.
Hi joandra
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance visit and after my previous reviewer note, there has been no owner response. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.

Such an amazing tree that the geokids loved but no luck with finding the cache
Thanks Joandra for placing this cool cache and bringing us here What a beautiful gum tree!!
I waited for a muggle to walk past with his dogs before approaching GZ for a quick find.
Cache was in great condition. TNLNSL TFTC

I had visions of having to do the climbing Hmm! But no just mini walk up behind and there it was!
We decided to come for a mini holiday and at the same time help out NZ tourist industry so we came down to Paekakariki for a few days staying at the local motel which is very pleasant and run by friendly and helpful hosts. so we drove around the Q E park before we could check in and discovered we were actually passing a couple of caches .
All is well here with this cache Thank you for this cache. and i took photos of the lovely gum tree which i will post later .

Located this one during a cache raid of Wellington chasing TMTG caches. No problem with the find once we located the right tree. TFTC.
Out for a walk with a bunch of ten kids. Took quite a lot of searching and snooping around trees. Yep it’s all about finding the right tree! Beautiful spot. TFTC.
Looking back at our previous searches we don't know how we missed it! So much SWAG! TFTC
Waited for 10mins for muggles to move on gave up and when to search for some others. Came back and cache in hand after some tree climbing. Tftc took sticker and left some beads.
DNF we have tried looking for this one before. Hoping for a find this time but still a DNF. Oh well. Might come back later.
Nice easy find lovely tree and nice time with whanau out at queen elizabeth park tftf
