Yeah nah, while optimistic and following the coordinates there was no joy in this attempt. Beaut of a day though!
This one seems to catch out a few people. I am unable to check it at present but have amended the hint.
This is a tricky find and nothing to do with the harakeke in the title. Nice to see it was stumbled upon today.
Hunted long and hard but walking away from this one unsuccessful. Views are great though
Had a good look through the harakeke near the track and viewpoint as suggested by previous comments but no luck today.
I am getting closer to Wellington every day and this is a milestone as I only have a few days be for I get back to the south island .this has been a really enjoyable section thanks for the caches to make me take in the views.

This one took way too long, when it was right by the track! Great views on a blustery day, but the rain is threatening.
No joy today- perhaps I would have if it was one of the earlier ones today but will try again sometime
Quick find, all good in cache. A good opportunity to rest my feet and have a snack. Tftc!
Searching harekeke is one of my least favourite places to search but at least these ones were below waist height.
Unable to find a receptacle that would hold a micro so I sat down and enjoyed the view for a bit and moved on.

Heading down to Wellington and had time to stop and explore Queen Elizabeth Park. What an amazing place. Parked up the camper van and got out the bikes. Some great concrete and gravel cycle tracks. Also enjoyed the history regarding the US marines with lots of information plaques. Well worth a visit. Thankfully cache is near the track. Thanks
We had dnf'd this 9 years ago, but we were finally back in the area to put things right. No problems today.
A beautiful day for a walk to enjoy the sunshine and views.
Thanks for setting this up for us to find.

This cache was looking very lonely on my map. I called by to find very few people around on a beautiful morning. My GPSr didn't point me in the right direction to begin with but I would have found the cache sooner if I had put some thought into it.
Found the harakeke and then found the cache pretty fast. lovely views from here. We were visiting friends down in this area and while the men talked...and talked. my friend and i went for a little walk to locate these three caches on the stunning walkway which over looks the beach below although i did not see any penquins unfortunately. There were a few cars parked at the nearby parking area mainly walkers with their dogs which seemed to enjoy the outing. . I did enjoy this little stroll so thanks for bringing me here as i did not know it existed. I took some photos which i will log later.
Out and about with MightyMicra now we are well into Level 2 and things are getting back to normal. This took longer to find than it should have - so obvious once located! Gloves and sanitiser in use whilst handling the log. TFTC.
Beautiful view and gorgeous beach but not seen any way to get down to the sea. Log signed and cache replaced as found. TFTC
Stunning view this afternoon! Sat down for alot longer than intended. Thanks for bringing me here!
Nice place to pause on our stroll from the campground. Took longer to find than it should have..should have recognised the pumice rock! TFTC
Out caching now the weather has improved this afternoon. Parked up and did a very nice circular walk picking up several caches. No problems here stamped log and returned. TFTC
There was a rush for the seat to enjoy the view, the cache was also quickly in hand by one of the microcachers. TFTC
Far out!
I’ve been here several times, and this time there it was. I can’t believe I missed it before.
Anyway, got there.
Thanks

A quick find but the cache was taped shut!
Opened it while trying to preserve the covering but not totally successful.
Great view here, cache gets a FP despite the fact that it seemed by the "scent" that an animal seemed to have made a "contribution" somewhere nearby!

Wandering through the surrounding area today, collecting caches as I go. Initially I saw nothing with quite a wide search of the hint items. On a second pass I spotted a camo similar to the one at GC1Z92W, and sure enough there was what I assume is the original cache given the old and crumbling log. Signed and returned. TFTC
I woke up this morning to find that that the rain predicted for the day was nowhere to be seen. And so the day I thought was going to be spend lounging around doing nothing turned into a very nice day spent wandering around Queen Elizabeth Park and Raumati, collecting caches I had wanted to try for, and a few Puzzle Caches I had worked out a while ago. QE Park in particular is a place I hadn't been too for such a long time. I had forgotten about the Tram being there!
So I was happy enough to just work my way along following the road from the main entrance, towards the coast and then see where it all led to. I decided to take the coastal walking track heading south, as the views out towards Pukerua Bay and Mana Island were splendid!
Arriving at GZ, the co-ords initially took me to a very large and obvious Harakeke so I thought this would be a quick find. However, after a thorough search of it, and all the ones around it I still hadn't come up with a cache. Reading back through previous logs I could see that a certain amount of difficulty had been encountered by a lot of people, but a recent log made me work my way around the whole area methodically in the hope of eventually making the find.
In the end, after about 20 minutes of searching, I found what must be the most recent container in a place which is obvious when you think about it, but isn't within 5m of where the co-ords point to, so I would humbly suggest that maybe the co-ords could do with a slight tweak. All was well with the container and its contents, and with few muggles around it was a quick sign and replace back where found.
So thanks for placing this cache, and encouraging me to explore this part of the park.

Thanks to Yeetrees a d Mr Magoo for a maintenance sweep of my caches in the park yesterday. Apparently they have placed a new container but it may be that the original is still there. Will check this week if time and knees permit.
no it's not gone! I was so surprised to find it after all the previous DNFs, there is a lot of harakeke around, it's just a matter of finding the right one and keeping an eye out for anything that looks out of place, log was wet and ripped when I signed it, I've added another scrap of paper to the cache
DNF
Sign me up to the DNF club. Judging by the trail of people who haven't been able to find it I'd say it's gone.

Found the seat and the view but could not find the cache. Gave up after about 20 minutes and moved on to the next one.
Decided to a 360 degree search on the most obvious spot. Of course we found it after about 330 degrees!
11/2/17 - after noting the CO and the previous find we had, I saw something that caught my eye. Tftc
Begins our holiday in NZ in Christchurch, we came from Italy to find our son who lives there for two years.
After ten days spent in the 'island of the south stopping at lakes in Dunedin in Oumaru and be returned to Chch, we decided to go north to the island with a flight to Wellington, the idea is to relax a few days between the sea and the beach course cache, unfortunately we will take four days of rain and wind, impossible to take to the beach.
But we'll make with the cache.
They expect historical cache but especially the GC46 one of the few positioned in May 2000 still alive, among other things, the oldest of NZ.
At night it rained, not ideal weather conditions, but today it is in the Elizabeth park program with its historic cache, we will travel most of the paths immersed in a typical vegetation of dunes
Greetings from Italy
Saluti dall'Italia

Wasn't quite where I was expecting since I was looking for a micro but found after a short search.
ON the bike for a quick tour of the park. This was one of the caches found More nice camo. Thanks.
A day to get from Wellington to Whanganui. Time to find a few little boxes....
Thanks to the CO's for the hides. Cheers.

Thought I would have problems finding this after a DNF at Taupata Grove - but found it immediately. A lovely spot for a sit down to admire the views. TFTC
D got jump scare by mountain biker — thought tire breaking on gravel sound was me blowing nose — don't know if should laugh or be insulted! Anyway, cache fast find, thanks!
The weather was very nice today (sunny, but not to hot) and this was the perfect Moment for a Little stroll along this very beautifull seaside. I really enjoyed every Moment and I was very glad that I could find three nice Caches an my way. It was a pleasure!
Thanks a lot for the Caches.

Great bike ride on a fresh morning...at least the southerly is pushing us a long...tftc
Whilst the others were Orienteering, I went for a quick stroll. This was the first of the ones I found - Many thanks!
Another nice find in QEII Park today. Beach looking lovely. All in good order. TFTC
Nice spot. Lots of muggles around at this point but they weren't a problem because there was lots of warning. Starting to see the pattern with these hides. I've tipped water out of caches many times before, but never sand!
As a migrant from faraway shores I don't know all the native words for plants yet and I admit I wound myself up a little with this one. Far easier than I mentally set myself up to believe, and I loved the camo.
#1195. Headed down to the coastal track and along to this one. Sat and had some lunch at the seat and enjoyed the views. The cache was quickly found thankfully as flax groves are not my favourite spot to search for caches. Nice hide. Signed log which was dry and returned as found. Headed back south to pick up a few other caches. TFTC
I normally don't like caches that have "harakeke" in the title , but this was a nice quick find, and a pretty cool hide - very nicely done! Everything in good condition.
TFTC!

Another great spot to visit for a quick find while taking advantage of today's great weather on the coast. SL TFTC
Once again, Yosser 9 had the magic touch. We enjoyed the views, though on such a chilly (albeit beautifully sunny) day, the breeze was bone-chillingly cold and we didn't tarry. Onwards and upwards! Tftc
The name says it all. Great view of Kapiti from this spot.. Thanks for a well-placed cache.
Cache # 2,497 - I generally dislike harakeke caches, ever since I placed my first one in a bush and then watched several weeks later as several other cachers struggled to find it. Probably mentally set myself up to make this more difficult than it eventually turned out to be. Once I actually went with my instinct instead of the GPS, the cache was quickly in hand. Nice hide. TNLNSL. TFTC!
A quick find with TregearP on a sunny Autumn Saturday. Very picturesque watching the surf which was swept up by a stiff breeze.
