*Another big geocaching trip to Australia with woolwood9.*
Our main focus was on the "On Your Bike" Wherigo series, which we really enjoyed.
Biggest disappointment was solving all the Paddle Steamer puzzles, then driving within 4km of them before finding the roads all completely turned to sticky slush and unusable!
*We visited many other good caches and other trails on our trip and had a lot of fun!*
**Really appreciate the effort put into this cache.**

Another cache find on our 2022 South Australian Adventure. It is a wonderful day. albeit cold, windy and rainy with patches of sun. Just perfect for geocaching.
We are enjoying our time travelling SA. Fantastic towns, ruins, beaches and cliffs & wine. Thanks to all the COs for taking us on this geo-guided tour.

Found along the dusty roads while caching with -Beaker- and Kellmik on our SA Easter rampage.
Wonder if this unexpected tree was purposely planted or a bird was the donor!
Thanks crane2 for the placement.

The forecast temperature today was listed as reaching 39 degrees so we planned our cacheing day around spending maxium time in the A/C in the car and minium time out walking trails. Today it was fantastic that we did not find that we needed to renew any cache containers or log books/sheets. Well done everyone. All the caches we targeted today were found to be in good order.
There was, of course, the mandatory flies and dust and more dust and more flies, we can live with this as we have the technology to deal with the flies and dust.
We did encounter roads that we have never travelled on before and were very surprised when we came across a water way at Bugle Hut that had at least 300 swans on it. We traveled down a road that had the strangest collection of items attached to the trees, there was fans, lamps, boom box, frypan, stuffed toys, CD's with red reflectors, asstd computers bits - monitor keyboard etc. It felt like every road had an old house on it. We saw house's where the lawns were so green while all the land around them were as brown as can be.

Out with Mattycat for a caching trip to the riverland for the day, with temperatures 40 C we decided to pick some easier caches that didnt involve walking to far and keeping cool in the geomobile. With Loxton our starting point we head east to the Border even crossed the border for a few in the park before thunderstorms ended the day. A stray tree but looking in great condition, nice to have some shade as we searched for the cache found after a short search

Enjoying exploring the area with Sewthat and Honeysucker. Found after a short search. Thanks
this is the type of container that most of my caches are. quick find.
Out with the Mogni for a short trip out to the riverland, only 3 days. It was hot first 2 days where 40 degrees and the last day was 33 degrees. Since the rules just changed about covid 19 testing before and after entering vic to no testing, we changed our plans on the way up and decided to go via Murray Sunset National Park. The idea was to find as many caches as we could that haven't been found recently most hadn't been found in 3 months. On day 1 we replaced 10 out of the first 12 caches, all broken container and 1 log book replaced, and by the end of the day had a heaped medium bin liner bag full of broken containers, the hot mallee sun doesn't do the plastic containers any good. Day 2 saw us caching around Loch Luna and lake Bonney which is way easier driving around here in the dry then in the rain like my last visit here. Onlt 1/2 a medium bin liners back of replaced containers today, people must fix the closer to the highway caches more often. On day 3 it was back in to the mallee country and home via Pinnaroo. Getting those " out of the way caches ". Plenty of dirt roads where driven down and many, many back sandy tracks taken. It was good to explore all the country areas and stay off the highway.

Sir_spectre and I had a quick getaway to the Riverland. We were targetting the less found caches. We found an assortment of caches, and as regular for us manged to replace containers for several and put some fresh logbooks in others. It was a rather hot weather for a weekend of caching but the air conditioned car gave us some relief.

Heading to the Riverland for a couple of days, on a caching trip, with clare007...
It was a lovely day for it...
Yes unusual to see one of these here...not a fan of trying to retrieve a cache from here but they have pretty good hiding spots in them...

Time to start thinking about making a move away from Loxton so headed out today to attempt the remaining unfound nearby.

As I am getting older and running out of time, I have decided I will take off on my own to cache in different areas of our vast country as my NGW (Non Geocaching Wife) has no interest in caching.
I have been up to Loxton for five days of full on caching with suscoe, au.fait and Phetlern and still have so many caches to log.
Heading east of Loxton with the crew we found this guy. Ross tells me that we travelled at least 250 km today.
I am afraid that for the next few days my logs are going to be a lot of cutting and pasting but that does not take away the effort that the owners have put in to provide these caches for us to find so please accept my thanks. With close to 200 caches placed I know how much work is involved with not only placing them but the ongoing maintenance.
Thanks, crane2 for placing this cache.

Another great day of caching, with Bushfire, au.fait & Suscoe, in the Riverland - between Loxton and that infamous border! The expanse of the farmland is amazing the ruins dotted along the roadsides adding interesting snap shots of local history. 10 years by the unexpected tree, something is working!
Our thanks to 'crane2' for placing this cache for our enjoyment.

Suscoe headed out this morning in the terrific company of au.fait, Phetlern and Bushfire for a caching adventure to the east of Loxton.
It was a warm morning which turned into a farily hot afternoon.
We travelled around 250 kms and found a lovely range of caches in some interesting locations.
The roads were fairly quiet but we did pass quite a few shingle back lizards, who were making their way across the roads that we travelled along.
Thanks to crane2 for this hide, it certainly was unexpected.

A fairly warm to hot day with much driving in the area to the East of Loxton. The caches were fairly widely spaced but the excellent company of Phetlern, suscoe and Bushfire made for a very enjoyable day. While unexpected it certainly provided some welcome shade as we signed the log TFTC crane2
Found with clare007 while out with CPwanderer.
Definitely an unexpected tree which we spotted as we drove up.

This was on the way to the new, hole lot of fun series.
Our driver stopped so Gizmo's gang & I could grab this one.
After wrestling with the tree limbs.
It took a bit to realise that I hadn't searched all the tree & then found the reasonably sized cache.
Nice tree, thanks for the hide & nice sized cache Crane2

Found it while on a little (long) loop drive out from Loxton into Sunset National Park picking up a few caches along the way.
When you look closely there are quite a few of these trees spread around, they must be tough to survive out there.
TFTC SL, Cannot remember what the kids swapped out. Thank you Crane2

The tree was certainly unexpected but thankfully the cache itself was a nice easy find. All was done in good order and the cache was replaced in position before we continued the hunt for the day. Out thanks go to crane2 for placing this cache.

We decided to head out for an afternoon of caching with Larry Lambert. With the rain over the previous 24 hours, we decided to hit some dirt roads to get the 4WD's dirty! We headed towards Taldra and continued to Bugle Hut, Taplan, Woodleigh, Loxton and then back home to Renmark. After living in the Riverland my whole life, this was the first time I'd been out this way!
It took Miss 7 a while to find this one but she soon had the cache in hand. Love these trees - they seem to be a cache hiders favourite! In fact, Miss 7 hid a cache today under a much smaller version today! TFTC!

quick stop on my border caching trip. after admiring the tree i found the cache relatively easy. love the smell TFTC!
Just on dark. Had a good look. Found what looked like a cammo covered sistema. Poked it with a stick to find it was the honeycomb of a fortunately quiet beehive. Left in a hurry but will be back in daylight.
Wow its amazing how may places these peppercorn trees can be found.

Found it on a weekend 4WD and camping with How Do They Know? and litefootrunner. We had an unexpected turn to the right and unexpectedly noticed a pepper tree out in the wilderness and the bees had unexpectedly had made a home next to the container. So we had to make unexpected haste to retrieve and replace the cache. And unexpectedly we didn't get bitten. Thanks crane2.

Found the tree, found the cache and found the bees as well. I think there is some bees setting up a hive near to the cache so just a warning for future finders. TFTC
Unexpected indeed and cache quickly in hand. As this was our 5th find for the day we thought it appropriate to leave a Billiard Ball with a #5 on it. TFC

This was an interesting cache - as I pulled up I heard a noise - three local kids on a quad bike driving on the track at the back of THE tree. What do I do????? They were looking very hard and seemed very keen as to what I was doing - I got myself a drink, I took photos and then I made out I needed to use the tree for cover! By this stage they had gone a considerable distance but they kept looking back!!!!! Anyhow, I found the cache, took a bright orange tin and left a wandering starfire pathtag. Great tree in a great location! Thanks crane2!
Great spot for a cache interesting drive to get this one.

I remeber that there used to be a pepper tree in every school I visited in my youth, but this is one of the biggest that I've seen.

There is some road work going on at the moment and they have damaged the tree somewhat.
