Spotted it on the ground while walking past on a lovely autumn afternoon. Re-hid it.
The adventures of Sparkie and Goldy continue, this time with a drive around Hawthorndene, Blackwood and Flagstaff Hill.
For some reason I thought the cache was somewhere which didn't match the terrain rating, I was so lost until Sparkie walked in another direction and found it straight away.
Need a coffee...
Thanks firesafe for this cache, which brings Goldy's total find count to 2899 on the 10th of April 2023.
I have hosted quite a few CITO's in my time, making huge differences thanks to the people who came along!
Whether you're out finding caches or just taking a stroll somewhere, remember to always be CITO-ing to help maintain our parks and reserves!
**South Australia is the place be for GCA1DNA - February 29th, 2024 in Adelaide! Hope to see you at The Great Leap Forward!**

A little bit of bush bashing and we soon had the cache in hand. Log signed and returned to its hidey hole. TFTC
Thank you for bringing us here
We would never have come without caching although we do know people in Suffolk Rd. Scenery great with smiley to boot

I drove into this one from Wescombe Triangle, and very soon wondered what the etiquette is if you meet a car coming the other way. Fortunately I timed it perfectly, with a stern looking woman ( looking like she wouldn’t concede an inch) heading in just as I was coming out.
An interesting outpost of suburbia here, thanks for luring me in Firesafe.

TFTC! Beautiful spot down here, great spot. Found it with 1MooBear and vj187. Lovely area. Enjoy and be relentless.
If that old fella could talk he would have some tales to tell. Thanks Firesafe fir the cache.
Housesitting in the area and with a pooch itching for another walk we decided to try to grab some caches on our way.
The wat to this cache had the heart rate pumping

Took a short drive south with Purrfect Di.
We had some business down in town, then escaped to the hills!
An oldie that I just needed to get around to. Nice location, a little out of the way.
Narrow road coming here - wouldn't want to have to back down

I'm hazarding a guess the sticker on the cache is ancient, i love it [^]
The cache and contents were fine bar a wee bit of moisture within but the log book was fine and dry to sign and sign it i did at 11:27 on TGIF 6 March 2020.
A very interesting small bitumen back road here, glad there was no-one coming the other way lol

Thanks Firesafe for bringing me to see this awesome tree. Cache damp but good. What’s with the road maps round here?
A bit of a random night this evening, as I targeted the Deep Dark Ryobi Forest geocache after just recently acquiring the key TB. After that, it was just driving around with @gridge98 finding various caches around Hawthorndene and Blackwood. It was quite unexpected to see the many oldies in this area, and kept getting surprised by their years hidden away. A nice night with about 10 finds in the bank.
What a great tree! We thought we could keep going along this road, but evidently not, but at least there was a cache here waiting for us. Nice to have found this 2006 oldie cache, with the cache and contents in good shape, thanks Team Firesafe.

Up the back of no where when reality is so close. A nice and easy find here.
Out the davidwazza for the evening to just do some local caching around Hawthorndene and Blackwood. We didn't realise the amount of oldies in the area either. A great night with about 10 finds in the bank.

Nice place for a cache!! Found quickly after a nice soggy ride through the rain. Brrr
Over six months since its last find, does that make it an unloved? Hidey hole spotted by the Adder, signed and returned. Thanks for the cache and placement Back o' the 'dene , Team Firesafe

Nice local cache for us. Walked over the hill in the morning heat. We walked up the single track a way to sneak a view. Then back down to find the cache. We really need to log more of our local caches.

I am always amazed at how close hawthorndene is to the "country" and the city...5 mins down the road and you are on a large property with a dam or in a vineyard. Thanks for bringing me to another beautiful place in Hawthorndene that i didn't know existed. Beautiful quiet morning walk complete with sightings of 2 sly foxes i hope they didnt get anyone's chickens last night! Tftc
Also saw a kangaroo amd joey hopping through vineyard and a big rabbit!

Hevwalker & I continued our drive around the foothills towards the city
The road continued to narrow, which was somewhat unsettling as we couldn't see over the crests [:0]
Pulling closer to gz, we both picked the likely area of the caches hiding place before hevwalker had pulled up
After finding, signing and replacing the cache, hevwalker decided to drop her TB here [^]
Thanks for the cache Team Firesafe, a pretty spot

It's pretty up here. I made my way up the narrow road and saw where GZ was. On closer inspection I found the cache, thank you
Bribed the mini maker with M & M's and the offer of a new park to play in, IF I was allowed to get a " treasure box ". No swaps where made but she was happy that there where swap to look at in the cache. Cache fine, log dry. Another cache that hasn't been found in 6 months and its a drive by, making qualifying for " unloved caches challenge cache" a lot easier than expected
Today we set off to clean up a few off the southern caches and managed quite a few finds and also a lot of DNFs (15) so was both a good and bad day lol. TFTC
Had a lovely time winding around these streets stopping to find caches along the way. It certainly is very pretty up here with everything looking lush and green. [^]

Although our GPS wanted us to wander a little further away, the object on which the cache was hidden was obvious. A quick circumnavigation and the cache was located. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks firesafe for the cache.
Found it while out to get the new souvenir. What a great spot. TFTC TNLNSL.
Found after a morning pruning grapevines for an extra-curricular work thing a bit further North. Very quiet part of the world. Located in the obvious spot while the GPS was still catching up with the satellites.
Found on the way to a drive/walk adventure on a nice winter's day in the Belair National Park.

Raven needed to be picked up from a school camp, so Owl took the opportunity to find a few caches in the area. It was a good excuse to start getting the fitness levels up to what passes as normal, though this one was only a short walk from where the owlmobile was parked. A nice area in a part of Adelaide Owl would never have visited otherwise. Isn't caching grand!
Its a chilly and still night in Hawthorndene - so lets go caching! Took the geowife and the geopup along and after the GPS settled down we found the correct tree. Was nearly muggled by a car driving up the road. Signed log
After being crook for over a week it was time to finally go and grab a few caches. Hard to believe that I was still in suburbia in here. Cache quickly found in the obvious spot in a magnificent tree. Would not have seen this spot if not for caching. Thanks firesafe.
It's got to be close to 30 years since I last came up this end of this road. In those days it was a dirt track, and there weren't nearly as many houses at the Turners end as there are now. TFTC. 24/03/2016, 13:50 Find #1823
Moneydork and I met up with locus cache and Sushilord to attack the inner south that we didn't quite get to last week. With eight finds and two very frustrating DNF's it was a mixed evening.
This was find number 7 of 8 for the night for me. TFTC firesafe!

Moneydork wanted to go caching and so sushilord, RideTheGeoWalrus and I joined him.
A later start than usual after 3 of us devoured Al Pacino's pizza for tea, as 2 of the gang had worked late.
A sad caching night for me...3 DNFs (2 on the same cache) and only 6 finds
However lots of fun was had although pants were torn (sushilord's) , injuries were received (sushilord) and late night coffees were drunk at a fireman's house in order to coax him to help us find Khumbu Glacier Revisted .....although it still wasn't found
Quick, jump out and get the cache before any cars come!
The good part about caching at night is less traffic and a find was made
Someone got booted here and thankfully it wasn't me.....despite my best efforts at making the boys blush all night long

Its Tuesday night... That means mid week night caching.
Sushilord, Locus cache and Ride the Geowalrus joined me for this one.
This time I chose the Blackwood area as an area that I haven't cached much.
We had a great time - Thanks for the cache.

Nice easy find, in fact it was obvious from 100m away! Tried to leave it a bit more camoflaged. TFTC.
This was on the GPS today so we decided to go and have a look. Upon arriving at GZ I found the cache open on the ground with it's contents scattered around in the undergrowth. Thankfully everything was dry so I gathered up what I could find and put it back in the cache. I signed the log which managed to remain in a reasonable condition and then replaced the cache in the obvious spot. Not sure what happened to the cache but it's all good now! TFTC!
Finding this cache was quite an adventure.
When I first found out about premium caching I thought to myself "I need to get that"
But caching has always been on and off these past few years so I could not justify paying $30 dollars for maybe 3 more caches around my area and a few extra tools on the geocaching website.
Whenever I had searched for a list of caches near my house, this cache had come up, but would not give me any details. One day on the Australian version of this website, I made a query and found that I could search for archived caches which I thought was quite interesting,
I found Emzee wild'rs cache of this same name and saw that it was the same distance away from my house,
So today (Christmas) I got up early and rode to this barely camouflaged cache and signed the log,

# 8021 Found on the SA leg of our S.K.I.D.R.O. adventure, while at Belair for a few days.
No muggles around on this road and a reasonably quick find.
Also got the bonus find as well, although it has not been logged for just over 2 years !
It was a little exposed, so I returned it to a safer spot.
Thanks for the cache firesafe,
Roostaman.

Was glad I had a little car when I met one coming the other way. Cache holder is certainly OLD and impressive. TFTF
Found late yesterday afternoon and only just got around to logging it. It is in need of a new zip lock bag as there is a massive hole in the bottom. I didn't have any on me.
It really is down a back road, isn't?

What a lovely quiet out of the way area.

Quickly located with mogni on an evening caching run. Thanks firesafe for the hide!!
That really is the back. Was a bit nervous about the drive up. Left a lotzowfam carabiner. Took the trackable.

A quick find this time around on a much nicer day. It's a nice place for a cache and a good hiding spot. We took nothing but left the "Hippity Hop" TB.
We didn't know what to do with the two nice looking team firesafe pathtags in the cache. They said "log me" and had numbers on them, and we weren't sure if we were supposed to take them, so I was going to "borrow" a page from the new log to write down the numbers and look them up later... but I somehow got distracted and forgot to take the page. So that's why there are random numbers written in the log.

Had a check today and it has flown the coop. I will make up a new one and it will be back online shortly.
Had the same experience as AusMoss (although we found two birds nests). Spent a good amount of time searching and found a few likely spots but no cache. Did not expect too much trouble given previous logs so will watch this one for a while.
We spent a while looking around a likely looking tree with several good hiding nooks but didn't find it. It was a cold day, and the surrounding grass was too long and the toddler too cranky for us to extend the search. We did find a birds nest, which was a nice consolation.
Back of the 'dene alright; back of just about everything. Not real sure about the road in; if something had come the other way it could have been messy. TFTC firesafe.
Spending some family time camped at the local caravan park. A nice time to find some caches.

We parked a short walk away and made quick work of the find only to have a muggle jogger and her dog come past and head further up the hill.

It was Tuesday night so it was walking night and that means caching in the hills. Your cache finished off a perfect night of walking and caching. I have wanted to find this cache for ages and for while we thought it was going to be a DNF, but at the last minute, my fellow cacher said those wonderful words....."Found it".TFTC.
After stumbling around in the dark swatting at spiders and tripping over drains we finally found what we were looking for. Nice hiding spot. Took bookmark, left a pick. TFTC firesafe.
