Beautiful Bendigo to look around. Came here to search this one for 20 mins but no luck. I’ll come back again on the way to St. Arnaud Mega in November if I can.
When we decided to go to Bendigo today to visit the Art Gallery and catch up with a friend, we looked where we could add a happy face to our map of this town (not many smilies in the area yet). S tends to spend a little too much time on Sudokus, so this one got chosen to see if she could rise to the challenge. The puzzle and questions were printed out, and a few boxes were filled the night before. Not enough.
In town, after visiting Frida at the Gallery, we went for a short walk to find the answers to the questions. Most cooperated and revealed themselves, but for a few we missed the information. So we entered the Tourist Information Office with our "quiz" and managed to get the attention of all three volunteers as nobody else was using their services. Still, our questions remained unanswered, and we moved to a shady spot to enter the values that we had found and continued filling parts of the grid. Thanks to the checksums provided, we arrived at a satisfying solution that took us to a plausible spot.
Meanwhile, our friend, froglady, had joined us. She assisted us in the search for the container. We were happy to find it and sign the log, carefully observing a group of people who were having a physical workout nearby - in 43 degrees and, fortunately, with their backs to us.
A bunch of TBs came along for a visit, and now it's time to return to the railway station to catch our coach. Thanks for the challenge and the fun!

Geochecker said that we were at correct coordinates, however could not find. We'll have to have another look some other occasion.
Luckily found this quickly. Could have been here a while.
We did the tour and enjoyed it.

Finally found it! Came here at Easter and solved the puzzle but I couldn’t find the actual cache, here for White Night and thought I’d have a look again before reattempting the sudoku and geowife sported it for me! Thanks for the cache!
Had a quick look on way to Bendigo Stadium with Kirs 3 after solving puzzle a few days ago.... no luck but was busy do will save for extreme on Victoria
Solved the puzzle on this one but unfortunately it totally eluded us and team fletch-4 today. there were the odd muggles to keep an eye out for but will have to come back another day to have another look. TFTC
Found with locus cache at night at the end of long day's caching and signed the log as locus cache had solved it I was going to come back and collect the clues for it and solve this one properly but life took over and I haven't been back here to collect the clues. Now I see this is archived and so am logging my find and hopefully I will be back in Bendigo to solve this properly. This was the just one more cache on our adventure.
Thanks for the cache.
Thanks for the cache.
As I'm now 3 months behind in my logging I am desperately trying to catch up and am mass logging to do so.
There's nothing like a caching day that commences at just after midnight with a FTF at Benalla then another FTF following that up near Violet Town and then ends out caching with kmace at Bendigo after midnight the next day [^]
Over the whole day there was only 1 DNF and 10 cache finds
Thankfully I have a friend who is a whizz at Sudoku [:X]
Tonight on a nice walk around this cache was found although it did take just a bit of looking

We worked this one out last night and thought we would come grab it this morning before the area was filled with muggles.

TFTC. We had to come to Bendigo for a few things and to catch up with some muggle friends. While we were in town we decided to attempt some of the Puzzle caches that we had solved in preparation for the Monthly Mystery Challenge.
We had solved this quite some time ago after various visits and using our sudoku skills. Not too many people around in the heat.

Gmj3191 knows I enjoy these puzzles and my sudoku solving ability was challenged with this one but luckily it all worked out. A few weeks later at the park, while I was waiting for him to finish his phone call I was lucky again and just peeked into to the right hiding place. We love our weekly babysitting visits to Bendigo which give us opportunities to to spend time in great places like this beautiful park. Thanks for all the fun of this cache.

We visit Bendigo every Tuesday /Wednesday on baby sitting duties, and when we take our little granddaughter Lucy out for a walk we've been knocking over the local caches.
Pam solved the sudoku a while back, and today was the day we went for the kill.
After visiting the quilt shop in Barnard St, we headed for GZ.
Just as we neared the search zone, I received a phone call and when that ended I turned around and there was PamJ holding the cache.
She can take all the credit for this one, she signed the log as well and might even log this one on-line.
The cache was in good condition and is waiting to be found by the next team.

Today we are back in Bendigo, last time, 3 years ago we had no luck because it had gone awol apparently. So today we returned to this lovely park and made a quick find. TFTP
got to gz and found a stall parked right on top of it. no chance. Maybe tomorrow?
Paid 50 cents for parking and dashed over to log a quick find. Could've only paid 20c! Thanks for the cache.
#402, My Dad loves Sudoku and he was the one that taught me how to work them. We were in Bendigo for Bendigo On The Hop and today was our relax and cache a bit before the long drive home. With a bit of walking and working out we had this one licked. Being from NE Victoria we don't get to Bendigo much but i always love wondering through this park when here. Thanks for the cache, i was able to teach my Muggle friend, well she has been with me caching enough not to be a Muggle, all about Sudoku.

Found with Mrs Tyred n Cranky.
Headed over to Bendigo to complete the Geocaching Mission for the weekend (oh and a small amount of shopping).
When I done this puzzle it was the hard way, took some time but got there in the end. But GZ was another problem, I have been to it on four previous visits an each time have had to leave empty handed due to muggles in the park. Today was the day, while I checked one spot, it was Mrs Tyred n Cranky that made a quick find. So glad to finally get my name in the log to this one.

Find No. 1464. Found with FUF009 at 2.10pm
A trip to Bendigo with FUF009 as he had no caches left in his home town to complete the weekends mission. So after shopping and lunch we spent the afternoon finding a few caches and this was the third one on his list. Although not one for the mission we just had to have another go at finding this one, as we had been there numerous times and there has always been too many muggles to even look.
We were in luck today as the area was muggle free plus we were pretending to play pokemon. While FUF009 was looking in one area, I looked elsewhere and came up with the goods.
At last we could sign our names in the log book and take this one off our 'To Do' list.

Came to Bendigo for the Women's Volleyball Grand Prix Matches Australia vs Croatia and Colombia vs Cuba. Knowing about the abundance of caches in the area, it was sad that time only allowed to pick up a couple of them. But hey, more reason to come and visit again.

quick find on the way through town to retrieve my wife's pillow we left behind in the hotel.
We collected most of the information required to solve the puzzle on the previous day and retired to the motel to calculate the coordinates during the evening. So on are way out of Bendigo we stopped by GZ and searched for the cache. There were quite a few muggles nearby. Fortunately we could appear to be sitting in the shade while we searched. The search took a few minutes but we eventually found the container and could sign the log. TFTC

Got him! Spent this morning doing the soduko, got about 2 thirds through (I was pretty confident I had the Anzac day bit right). Managed the rest in front of the Queen then walked around in circles till I found it. Thanks for the soduko, I love them.
A hard one to solve but solved it was. At first we were looking a little left of the cache location but as you do, we stood back a little and thought and hubby found the well placed and hidden container. SL TFTC
Back in Bendigo, and after solving this puzzle last time I visited without the ability to locate the cache (and a little help from the cache owner), I was able to make a quick find tonight as the area was relatively quiet. The puzzle was good fun, and although I did not find every clue; I had more than enough to use my keen Soduku skills! Thanks the old blokes for the cache and the nudge in the right direction!

I think everyone involved was hanging out for today. This had been planned for weeks. Lets make a day of it in Bendigo was the suggestion [^] Puzzles were solved, coordinates put into GPSr's maps were printed, accommodation was booked. Finally it was here. theTritonz, DAB, wozzle68, ST37E, Mclookers, Glanville Girls and myself were off. We met in Creswick after breakfast was purchased on the road. What a brilliant day out it was. Lots of laughs.
After a bit of lunch and enjoying the sun we moved on. What a great location. I could see myself spending lots of hours around here. After a bit of work on this puzzle by the group we were soon at the final resting place and had it in hand. Signed and replaced as found.

What a fantastic day of geocaching we had in Bendigo today. With an ensemble consisting of McLookers, Glanville Girls, Wozzle68, The_Tritonz, ST37E. Na'wal and yours truly, we had an absolute blast. With a heap of solved puzzles, it was time to do some collecting. It was a mixed bag of caches today. There were tree climbs, bridge climbs, hill climbs, traditionals, multis, a letterbox and even a few night caches to end the day !! [^] The standard of the hides was excellent and the scenery and architecture was fantastic. All of the CO's should be proud of their hides. I can't wait to return for some more caching !! Up in Bendigo today on a group assault with DAB, ST37E, Na'wal, Glanville Girls, Wozzle68 & McLookers with a set plan of DT caches, pre solved puzzles and nightcaches we set about getting as much done in the short time we had. We love caching up here admiring your bushland and architecture and with so many in the area we will certainly be back many more times.
Thanks the old blokes for the fun puzzle.

Caching in a large group today as others have said, it always a fun thing to do with lots of fun and laughs to be had. Thank you gentlemen for the puzzle and the final cache location.
Solved puzzle, disappointing how many cans and bottles were where we expected the cache to be.
A great walk down Pall Mall to find out about Bendigo. While visiting from Adelaide this week I went clue hunting and although I missed a couple of clues, I had enough to solve the Soduku. GZ was a different matter as I am reasonably confident I was in the right spot, as it was cold and dark, I was not able to locate the cache.
I hope to be back in a few weeks to try again! Thanks the old blokes, next time!

Found at 4:24 PM GAFF3. This cache came out just before we shifted to NSW. We had been clearing out all of Bendigo for months before as we really liked the town and then this one popped up and we just had to let it go. Good thing that it was still there after nearly 6 years. Great way of seeing the various monuments and learning about the history of the place.
This cache was two of the reasons why we don't like reading logs or hints as the cache was not particularly clever in its hide and it wasn't that low in the ground!
Thanks the old blokes.

An interesting twist on the standard sudoku puzzles. Set your own difficulty level! The hide did indeed cause us just a little angst as there were a few muggle walkers about on this sunny Sunday morning. Thanks for the challenging puzzle the old blokes.
This was a team effort. Collecting the clues was easy but finding gz proved tricky. Thanks for the Bendigo history lessom.
Camped in Bendigo for a week, to pick up a few caches in the area.
Geo-wife solved the puzzle, and the cache was found after a short search.

I solved this long ago using information obtained from photographs from a previous visit to Bendigo to make the puzzle a fairly easy paper and pencil affair after I eventually corrected an error by not reading a 2 part question properly. The hunt was fairly straight forward but a persistent stream on muggles on this morning meant we could actually look for the a cache so to speed things up we opted to read the hint which has us looking elsewhere and the cache was eventually found in the spot my geosense told me before being misled by the hint.

Knowing I was coming to Bendigo for a weekend visit I took the opportunity to solve a few mysteries before I arrived and this was one. So I must admit to taking the "cheating" way out of solving this one. On the walk from the hotel to dinner tonight we had time to detour into the park and it was a fairly quick find once there. Unfortunately this visit didn't have time to do all the touristy things and walk around checking out the statues and so on. Thanks the old blokes in any case.
Woohoo! Took me far too long to find this as I had to go home and print the sudoku, which I didn't get correct the first or second times, by which time it was too late to go to the co-ords Time well spent though for such a rewarding find! TFTC

Spent the weekend in Bendigo meeting a few friends. I hadn't done any caching up here previously but had solved this puzzle during the week so as Tarbit visited a nearby gallery I was able to head off to find this one. A lovely area to visit on a sunny Sunday morning. There were a few muggles out enjoying the sunshine but luckily none near where I wanted to look. Once the GPS reading settled down I was able to move in and make the find. Took nothing, left nothing, signed log and visited a TB. Thanks for the cache the old blokes. After this Geobaby was due a nap so we departed Bendigo and other caches will need to wait till I return.

How often have I passed all these 'memorials' without pausing to find out more about them. Thank you to the old blokes for rousing my interest to answer these questions with a great sudoku to do as well. The cache and its contents are in very good condition. LNTN
On a previous visit we had done the research, able to collect a lot of the information easily because it was a Sunday. At home we solved the Sudoku but had to wait for a return visit to find the cache. Thanks oldblokes, always a pleasure to do business with you
Started in the puzzle in Melbourne yesterday and got a few numbers but not much good. Caught a train up today and found 10 of the 12 clues and solved the suduko. Made my way to GZ but GPS was bouncing everywhere. Eventually I decided a likely place and was relieved to find the cache. Dropped of flip flop TB. Tftc
We solved this one on another trip and we found it today. I helped to solve the puzzle. Thanks for the hide.
These two old girls couldn't solve this one, so our Geo friends helped us . Thanks again old blokes!!
We had this solved after our last trip to Bendigo earlier in the year. We ventured out on a very wet, dark night to make the find. Glanville Girls yet again made the find. Caching tonight with Glanville Girls, Rehfisch Clan and Beckster22. Thanks for the puzzle, the hide and for attending to the maintenance.
Raining very heavy by this time of night, after nearly giving up Glanville girls found it.
We solved this puzzle several weeks ago in anticipation of our trip to Bendigo. The one was found at night and in the pouring rain! The area was flooded and made searching difficult but the cache was found high and dry unlike us upon our return to the car! Caching tonight with Beckster22, Rehfisch Clan and McLOOkers.
Second find tonight in the pouring rain, after a short search the cache was found.
Good puzzle and quick find. Thanks Old Blokes.

Last night we decided to take in the history rather than stretch our brains too much. Collected the info and then sat with a drink to solve the remaining squares of the Sudoku - and what's more we both got the same answers! This morning we headed over to GZ on the way to the Art Gallery for the Exhibition and found that the climbing lady had been given a severe haircut and there was no sign of a cache. Might be time for the CO to check if it's still there.

Solved the puzzle and headed to GZ with Tassie Trekkers but this became our 3rd DNF in a row. Great park but no luck for us today.
We gathered the information and solved the suduko on the way home. we have the co-ords and will make the find on our next trip to Bendigo. Thanks, we enjoyed the task.
Melbourne Cup day and a day off work. Not a bad day to get to Bendigo, do some shopping and grab a few caches. The sun thrown in for good measure helps too.
We were just on our way into town, armed with a GPS, some solved puzzles and a 3yo Cache Monkey.
The puzzle was solved a few days ago, thanks to a bit of Sudoku solving and field work from previous trips to Bendigo...... I have to admit, many moons ago I tried to crunch it out from just the numbers but it was too much, so I filled in some of the blanks from the various sites and things made a wee bit more sense.
Here's a question for you though. Why is it that people always decide to sit back and have a bit of lunch and a smoke just near GZ? Everytime!!! I resisted the temptation to move them on bouncer style and we decided to take a walk around a beautiful part of Bendigo.
The Cache Monkey saw a playground in the distance (I'm not sure how she can find them, I think she sniffs them out) and off we went for the obligatory swing and slide. However it was closed due to it being a shared facility with a school. The poor Cache Monkey nearly tripped over her bottom lip as she pouted and pretended to cry. She stood there shaking at the gates, but short of picking the lock or hurdling the fence there was no way play would be on the agenda today.
Anyway, realising that the parking meter would be running low and the Grey Ghosts would be delivering me a ticket or two soon, we decided to head back, still cursing those smoking and dining near GZ. Wait a minute, they're moving off.
You know that bloke who can run a bit, Usain Bolt, well let's put it this way, he would have been eating my dust as I sprinted to the now clear GZ, with the Charm Quark and Cache Monkey following close behind.
After a short search while keeping an eye open for muggles the cache, that elusive cache was mine, MINE, ALL M I N E!!!!!! (Sorry, I did get a wee bit excited to the point where a jig was danced).
The log was signed by all and cache replaced where I found it (I'm not convinced that it is in its correct position) and we were off once more.
TFTC Old Blokes, most appreciated. Now we just need to return again when the playground is open!!

I'm not so much into thinking about things that I can get my PC to think about. So I did put the puzzle via my solver. If it is any consolation I did write the solver myself and I have almost come a cropper before by not being great at Soduko by hand (see http://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=76dc7d25-930c-43cf-8809-cebdcf58915e for example).
Came by early in the morning to look for this one. This was a good time to get the gentle light and a muggle free opportunity to look. A few false starts and then I spotted that something different.
Thanks for the puzzle and cache old blokes.

We solved this sudoku before leaving Tassie for this holiday. After our evening meal, we were driving back to our motel when this cache came up on our GPS. We just couldn't go by without taking a look. We found a spot to park the car and walked to GZ. Luckily for us, we were able to make a quick find. The cache and it's contents were in good condition. TFTC the old blokes.
We had a nice walk around taking in the history. This certainly made the puzzle easier and after a few checks and balances had a set of co-ords so over we went and soon made a quick find. We completed the signing duties and re hid TFTC.

A pleasant work around ti hater the clues and an easy solve of the puzzle. There were only a few walkers about when we headed to gz for an easy find.
Worth a favorite for something a little different.

Well, we tried to solve this puzzle at home before we left... however at about 5pm this evening we were to be found wandering down View Street searching for these clues to help us! And we do not regret this search at all! Some truly impressive and amazing sights were able to be seen, a great way to tour Bendigo! Solving the Sudoku on the stairs to the Post Office was amazing, and the hide was top notch! Thanks old blokes for this cache, a favourite of ours!
I solved the puzzle at home (in Holland that is) a few months ago. And today I found it. Great cache. Worth a Favorit!

Great puzzle, great cache, left puzzle token as it seemed appropriate. tn sl tftc
The pre 'return to work' caching adventure with the Walenators has seen us tripping around the greater Bendigo region. After a coffee at Maccas to flush away the fuzzy brain we went in search of some of the city caches. This one was on the solved list so we headed here after doing 'Try Again?' this search proved a little faster than the previous cache but the Chief was on his own as my allergy prevented me from assisting. Lovely old building next door. TFTC
After an early start today we drove from Albury to Bendigo managed a few caches along the way and then once again when we got to Bendigo. We only meant to do a few in town but the caches were so invitingly close and town was so quiet today we just kept going. We have had a great start to our geocaching around here and this was one we enjoyed finding.
Nice work with the cache thanks to the old blokes.

Sat down and solved the sodoku at home although it may have been quicker to do the walk!! Still a man needs a hobby. Waited until after business hours tomake the final search which luckily was quite short. Thanks to the old blokes.
Found it today with Drozov,
We took a travel bug/coin each and they will soon find new homes.
took us a little while to find this one, we thought we must of been in the wrong spot, clue had us confused!! nice work! awesome cache

Did the leg work for this while eating Mexican just down the road! Awesome hide - went right to it. Dropped 2 travel bugs
We're up here for our Anniversary weekend away - yey!! It was GMelb's turn to choose the location (we alternate so it's a surprise for the other half!) He chose Bendigo coz there is so many caches to find and we havent been up here since we got "into caching" Lucky we both like caching!! lol
After a morning of caching and lunch back at the holiday house we set off to the Woollen Factory and when we arrived they had a note on the door saying there was a Craft Fair at the Guide Hall, so after some small purchases at the WF we set off to the Craft Fair as JMelb had been disappointed that there wasnt a Craft Market in Bendigo this weekend. We then continued on caching going by our list as the car GPS had cracked it in preparation for this trip and wouldnt let us load any caches to it so all caches had to be manually input before we could drive to them.
After spending a lovely afternoon around Bendigo (unfortunately also including a Snake encounter) we came back into town and decided to hunt for this one which GMelb had actrually solved as a Sudoku prior to coming up to Bendigo not using the extra clues! The cache was cleverly hidden and took a while to find.
We had started logging these caches whilst still up in Bendigo but the ancient laptop combined with average coverage for the phone wi-fi hotspot meant the internet kept crashing so logging at home now. We're not having much luck with technology this week!!!

Wet and windy at home so I drove down to Bendigo for a GC event and a few cache finds.
Another of the many puzzles I have spent a lot of time solving over the last few weeks. In this case I spent quite a lot of time working on the sudoku before a solution was found. A check of the coords on nearmap gave me a good idea of where the cache would be and I was able to make a quick find.
Thanks the old blokes

Found in between short spells of rain. The GPS signal was jumping around a bit, but there were no people around being Grand Final day, not to mention the freezing, windy and wet weather, so it was easy to search. TFTC!
After spending countless hours working out many mystery caches between Geelong and Bendigo it was time to change some of them into smilies.
Now some I have needed a hint and others a great big shove as I think cachers are getting smarted and more devious with this class of hide.
Friday was spent trying to keep dry while increasing suscoe’s and Bushfire’s numbers and found some great hides. If you wish to increase your knowledge on how to hide a cache then spend some time up here and the natives are friendly.
While the primary reason was to find as many mysteries as possible if a Traditional was close it was grabbed.
I have never been to this location before and the area is looking terrific even though it was trying to rain but that keep the muggles away.
After a short search the cache was in hand and signed and off to the next.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Suscoe and Bushfire were out and about today in soggy Bendigo.
We had visited here before trying to find the cache with no luck.
Today we had no muggles apart from some nice green parrots.
A short search saw the cache found by Bushfire.
Very happy to sign the log at last.
Thanks to the old blokes for keeping us coming back!
