Hoping to introduce family to geocaching this easter weekend however this was no where to be seen in the spot where we found it last or anywhere near?
Had a few goes at this one, but no trace of the cache. Too good for this newbie! Will be back with GPS one day...
Great aviaries though. hadn't been there since I was a kid.

Oh Dear, maybe we are still too new to this, looked good and hard but nothing found. Great park for the kids though.
Quiik find. Went for a quik walk thru the surrounding bush. +Jandal keyring. TFTC
The children found it! Blue Duck is a bit of a Red Herring (excuse the pun) saw everything but a Blue Duck. None the less happy that my first find was in a place dear to my heart. Log a little damp could do with a dry out. Muggle free. TNLNXN TFTC
12.35pm. Interesting spot. Would never have known about it without geocaching.
Thanks for bringing us here.

5198 A nice park, had a quick lunch before locating the cache, didn't spot any Blue Ducks today, TFTC.
Nice place for a walk with the kid, Knew about the birds after Scout Jamboree next door years ago. TFTC
Glad you brought us here!! lotsa birds, some of them a bit big for the cages though.
Cache is wet, these type of containers don't seal very well we have found. (the round ones with the flush top seals)
Thanks!!

Cool park - contrary to the note in the log there really IS a blue duck in there. Agree though, the enclosures could do with signs. Great find with me and 3 kids in tow... find 1 of 11 for the day! TFTC!
A surprising spot but think I'd rather see native birds in their true environment, the Kererus did not look very happy at all.

Been to this park before but didn't know this area of the park was here. Thanks for bringing us here. Emptied out the excess water from the cache but really needs a good dry out.
A nice little walk in the rain.
cache contained a lot of water and the note book damp
a little maintenace required.

A lovely detour on my way to Waiouru to see my son. Heard both the ducks and the running water, but had to look a little to find the cache. Cache is wet inside, and may need a silica bag to dry it out thoroughly. TFTC
now this is a great place to stop and nice to see a good sized cache. thanks for bringing us here we would never have visited otherwise.
Found with the help of the Oz grandkids. Good views of the blue ducks - did not impress the Australians who have much more coloured birds. Left Nomad Geocoin and dice. Took 2 marbles. Cache was damp so dried it out best we could. TFTC.
TFTC - had a lovely walk around )
Logged as 'Kylie' as first day of geocaching and I hadn't signed up to the site yet.

I did see the blue ducks, and had an interesting chat with the keeper, as it was feeding time! It would be good to have some info signs about this aviary.

What a nice spot for a cache, have being here a few times and always worth another visit, BUT was really pleased to be here again, the Monarch butterflies were in great form today, really neat, found cache quickly, TFTC TNLNSL (1661)
Used the clue and spotted it.
I love birds, and enjoyed looking at the blue ducks. Dont think I have ever seen them so close.

Nice birds, weird little aviary though, and with no signs we had no idea really what we were looking at - but that didn't stop us enjoying it. We also liked what I can only assume was a Monarch Butterfly farm next to the aviary, we were at just the right time of year with butterflys and caterpillars and everything in between to ooh and aah over.
Left the Country Boy, he should enjoy the birds and the trees and the sound of running water. TFTC

Easy find and really enjoyed this one. My daughter spent a long time looking at the over 100 swan plants and returning all the caterpillers on the picket fence back to their plants nearby the cache. Must say I felt very sad for the Tui which was flying circles frantically through the top of its cage at dusk. These bird are obviously very fast energetic flyers judging by the speed and frequency it was moving and the enclosure was far too small for them to spread their wings. Also terrific play toys for my daughter and she loved singing on the stage in the middle of the garden. What a beautiful place. Thanks Carla
Enjoyed looking at the native birds. Got good photos of the blue duck and kea.
+ a marble, - nothing.

Came here for lunch and fed the mallards, then found the cache. We visited some years ago when the family was young and saw the talking tui memorialised by the poem at the aviary entrance. It really did have a wonderful vocabulary!
Great spot to come especially in the evening as I was able to hear an abundance of birdsong.
Found in nice reserve. Well worth a walk around & good picnic spots. Also cricket nets if you are a fan like brother Carl.
This aviary of native birds was very interesting to visit - the lack of signage is surprising. The cache was bigger than expected. TFTC.
dad outer left the kids at near by park playing on this one and went for a walk to find ( to no luck)
so got kids and boy outer fould it like a dog to meat we all had fun on this one
thanks to Iarekt 4 making it

Had a nice little walk around looking at the birds, great little park to go to. Nice and easy finding the cache. Left a car and took a little teddy.
Lots of ducks in the park. A Cheeky Kea made himself known and frightened the beegeebes out of me!!! Nice an easy. TFTC
Enjoyed this thanks, lots of hiding from muggles involved, which the kids took v. seriously! - pet rock and car, + soft bear and 'jewel'. Left Punk Rock Orange Mouse Q TB, with some regret, had enjoyed her company. Happy New Year!
nice quick & easy find, in a lovely park.
Swapped a pet rock - a rabbit for an emergency blanket

[Great to see how this park has been developed - a big change from the park I knew as a rugrat and later mischief-maker.

1435 Nice quick find fortunately as were worried that they might close the gates on us! TFTC
A straightforward find after wandering right around the aviary. Saw a tui and a namesake weka. TFTC
Wow there are so many birds and what a nice place. Field was covered in ducks. Found cache with no problems. TFTC
Amazing there is no labels to any of the aviaries.. good to see the blue duck tho' it seems right at home! This is a lovely park -an asset to Fielding.
Found as part of my three week caching trip from Wellington to Auckland - # 264. Nice place to go for a wander. Thanks.
A quick find this morning during a geocaching visit to Feilding. Great little spot! Signed log, TFTC.
Didn't have much time to look at the ducks and other birds as we parked inside the park then saw sign that said gates would be locked nearly 1 hour ago! Quick scramble for the cache, SL TNLN TFTC out before gates locked.
Found with tmann421. Like tmann421 said, we were very conscious of being locked in as we have missed signs before when geocaching in Palmerston North and had to have security let us out! SL, TNLN, TFTC.
I am surprised that the place is not signposted and not even visible from the road. The cache was awell hidden.
Made my trip to Feilding more enjoyable. Great cache, easy to locate. TFTC
Took Madagascar Prize, will admire it for a while and send it on.

Forth to find at about 1:30pm.

Had a moment of disorientation as we came from the other direction but soon spotted our target. Met up with the Joneses who came in the right way and cache was quickly found by hawk-eye Punga. We have seen the Blue Ducks in the wild (in our secret valley) and feel a little sad to see them in captivity. Watching them play in fast flowing water in the remote bush is a wonderful sight! Thanks for the cache.
Found it quite easily after a few minutes searching. Lovely to visit the birds again
