Following a few days work in Auckland, I stayed on to spend a couple of days caching (and to cache up with my kids at uni). Searched several likely spots. Left empty handed.
Out to find a few caches today in the West.
Another dam DNF!!
Saw lots of poles with concrete - just no poles with caches!

Saved this one for the way out. However the area is very muddy and I was quickly becoming a mess, so when the heavens opened I took it for a sign and headed off. One to save for summer I think.
Had a good look on the way out and on the way back, but couldn't find the cache.

Last of the ones in the immediate vicinity. I made this way harder for myself than it needed to be. TFTC
Initially the GPS wanted to bring me another way but I said "No, try this other way". We did and were successful.
Cheers for the cache.
Cheers for the cache.
Searched on our way up to the other caches, and again on the way back. Quite a bit of dirt/clay about so things have been dug up. Once we got home we saw others had found it, damn

#4946 In between events we were randomly caching around the countryside with our travelling companions Coruze, Kiara001 and TrooBloo. It took us a little longer to locate the cache (the good hint certainly assisted us in our quest) but when we did it was unfortunately full of water. As such the log sheet was papermache so we put a temporary log sheet in a ziplock bag. Our thanks to Kevs Team for the cache and fun. Cheers [^]
A few of us Aussie's banded together to make NZ a hyper of activity! Accompanied by team Skullracing, Troobloo and Kiara001 we randomly picked caches to do so we weren't stuck in one particular area. We thoroughly enjoyed our time in NZ with the different variety of caches and some really unique ideas.
With the hint, this should be easy, we thought.
Our gps had us looking here, looking there, without success.
There had been a bit of rain around here lately which made things
a tad more difficult.
OK, stop, check the hint and The Queen found it.

Found while out with Skullracing, Coruze and Troobloo. the queen managed to find this one, although the log was soaking, so we replaced it with a new one. TFTC Kevs Team
Grrr, this one eluded Ghostgums, Kaisho53 and I. We spent more time than we should have going round in circles and checking the same places over and over... In the end, we gave it away and moved on.
I think this is MIA as all the old gates have been tossed aside and a brand new gate has been installed
Had notice this cache one one of my previouse trips to the other caches in area. Needed a quick find today so decided it was time to finally find and sign of this cache. TFTC
As i'm behind on logging i've noticed 'Earthbound Cheif's' log - there was definately work in progress when I was here, new gates and a digger clearing out the nearby creek, piling up clay near cache.

Initially looked at the wrong end but found soon after. The log is beginning to disintegrate. TFTC.
Out with stretch.kerr today on our way to the start of the Puppy Powertrail. We thought we'd come this way first and grab these few caches on offer. Stretch made the find on this one but he initially couldnt find it as he was looking at the wrong end. TFTC!

Our fifth day of our honeymoon to New Zealand and Australia.
Yesterday it was a bit late before we had logged all caches, but we woke up very early this morning. For *Ba it was a nice day with a nice wake up and a nice amount of caches in view. After having our New Zealand breakfast we walked to Hertz to rent a car for one day. It became a Toyota Carolla, which is here a small car, but in the Netherlands already a medium size car. As always driving on the right side of the road it was our first experience of driving left. But it went not too bad. We took only by accident the exit as we did not notice that the left lane was the exit one and not the slowest way on the highway.
Normally we are not the geocacher who love to do trails like this, but as our target is to reach our 5.000 founds during our honeymoon trip in Australia we needed a certain amount of caches. For us this is the second time in our geocaching career that we found more than 100 caches on one day.
After doing the trail Jo wanted to go back to the hotel as she had some pain in her eyes. We decided to take a little detour to also visit a multi cache , letterbox and earth cache. The total founds of today came on 110 caches. After driving back to Auckland we first changes glasses in the hotel, brought the rented car back and walked again to the supermarket for a diner. Along the way we visited some shops and Ba found a belt for only 5 NZD. In our opinion the food is very very expensive in New Zealand we had a simple diner of Mexican wraps out of the oven and a salad of onion and cucumber. The desert was the same as yesterday, because we bought already a six pack.
This was our last day in Auckland. Tomorrow we drive further to Whitianga. We hope the weather is at least as good as today. We started with a very cloudy sky, but during the trail we saw also some sun. And if it could be a bit warmer, that would even be more nicer.
We found this cache today around 2.30 PM local time.
On the way to the letterbox we came along this cache. After parking the car we had to search a bit as the gps was really pointing to the bushes. But finally *Ba spotted the pipe and then we found also the cache. After this one we continued our walk to the letterbox.

We didn't find this one - tried it on the way into the forest and back as well. What a pity for us.
Nice sport, talked to some hunters - but no cache, pretty sure I was at the right spot....

fitzy_1965, Sol de lune and I came to NZ at Easter to do some serious caching. We mainly were here to do the 101 Dalmations Power Trail and some nearby caches such as this one.
It's still only early in the day, and wow it was a long day, and this was a quick find before we started the power trail. TFTC!

This was the second find this morning just before starting the Power Trail. A lovely day was starting with a quick find on this cache. Thanks Kevs Team !!

Second of over 100 finds for the day on this trip to NZ.
Fitzy_1965, ACBC 66 and myself came over from Oz to have a go at the 101 Dalmations and dropped by to grab a couple of nearby ones first.
An early start saw us with this one in hand by 8.00am.........even though we walked past it the first time. Good way to start what was going to be a long day.
Thanks for the cache.

Nice easy find at the start of the walk, and we found a new area to bring the bikes to, TFTC!
Found one end that was sealed up and no sign of a cache, then followed it through and found the other end, which...surprise surprise had the cache nicely hidden. TFTC!!
Found a few likely suspects first of all but finally came across the right hidey hole. Think we scared off a frog as well while we were looking. TFTC
Took a while to find this one, but eventually, thanks to Friwi, it was pulled from hiding spot!

#932 Out and about rural today. Was actually trying to find another cache nearby when we realised we were right on this one. Took us a while to find a tool to help retrieve, but got there in the end. SL. TFTC.
Had to make two trips to retrieve this cache as the TOTT in the car wasn't quiet the one . TFTC

Well done on the placement, I have a bit of an issue with the type of people that log a cache as found when all they did was see the cache container, if you cant find a suitable tool of the trade then come back another time and do it properly, otherwise we may as well just drive by a cache and say we could see it so we can log it.....
In our case the tool of the trade was a 10 year old's skinny arm, hard to find that tool in any old tool box, let alone trying to fit it back in the tool box.

Found qwikly but couldn't retrieve-spent ages trying to extract but reluctantly gave up as other caches were calling.
Found two objects as stated in the clue but neither was any good. The day went from bad to worse as this was my second DNF this morning and then I had to lose my glasses so that it the end of my caching morning. DANG!!!
Well what to do after watching the Crusaders defeat. Get out and reduce the "Close to Home" said the 'Social Director'
So there was nothing for it but to get out there - operating alone today, not even the Bear.
Return visit for this one. This time all was revealed.
Thanks for the Cache and Smilie.

Mrs GT was looking for this one while I made a run for the other 3 cache in the area. I had completed the 2km round trip and Mrs GT was still searching. On my return I commenced searching for this one too. Was looking around a pipe when Mrs GT spotted the sneaky hide. TFTC
A process of elimination proved to be what was needed. The Cullen was checking out all possibilities and came up a winner for us both

1.45pm. Very good placing here! It needs a careful search as there are several distractions. It took us some time but was a satisfying find (all the more so as we note that Tramper Ted - they of considerable caching experience - missed it). There is a need to be careful of broken glass lodged in the clay bank around GZ.

Headed to this cache following team FMZ along the dark roads from our previous FTF at the Airport. Co-ords put the cache somwhere in the middle of the paddock so we searched around in the obvious places and eventually located something that didn't belong. Another joint FTF with FMZ T4TC.
The midnight club convoy drove here after the new cache in Whenuapai. Coords a bit off here, about 200m - we all took readings of new coords. TFTC and another FTF, with rosmar.
