Today we visited the southernmost point on the South Island. the cache was easy to find. TFTC

Here in the land of the long white cloud to attend the mega in Dunedin. Many thanks to all those involved in the organisation! Travelling with BenM70 along to the Catlins and onwards to Bluff. Did a cache that needed a long waterside walk and a wade so all wet and muddy again today! Fabulous scenery and ancient highlights. Thanks to the COs for amazing caches!
Day 8 in New Zealand Heading to slade point so picking up a few close by around the region Easy find but retrieval was hamperwd by fellow tourists My first overseas trip ever started off eventful with my tree fishing pole joining me in Brisbane on a later flight after deciding not to travel with me initially, but all sorted and the trip has been stress free since checking out the stunning scenery and picking up caches of various sorts. Went caching with the Qld + 1 crew while in Dunedin but finished up and headed south with GCoven on my way to fly out back to Townsville Australia via Invercargill Thanks kiwiarmy for placing this Traditional for me to convert into a smilie
Heres the thing about slopestheyre never as innocent as they look. You think, Ah, its just a bit of a hill, and then suddenly youre halfway down it, slipping, sliding, and wondering if your next step will introduce you to the concept of freefall.Sybil, of course, navigates every incline as if shes floating, while Im trying not to break a leg on what these Uberwald locals charmingly call a "footpath." More like a break-neck-and-hope-for-the-best-path if you ask me.Theres mud and ice everywhere, just waiting for the perfect moment to throw you flat on your back. I caught myself with one of those ridiculous walking sticks they insisted on giving us, which Ive come to respect slightly more after nearly somersaulting into a ditch.And its not just the slipping; its the uphill climbs, too. You trudge five steps, and it feels like youre dragging the whole city of Ankh-Morpork on your back. I could be in my office, sitting down, drinking tea... but no, Im in the mountains, somewhere thats mostly uphill, with all the charm of a slab of granite.Every time we reach the top, Sybil insists on taking in the breathtaking view. Meanwhile, Im taking in my breathlessness and hoping theres a flat bit soon.
CaptainVimes and I have crossed the pond to attend the Geo Toroa mega in Dunedin and tour around the South Island for two weeks.After walking down to the sign, we made a quick find when we came back.Thanks kiwiarmy and happy caching

We secured it a bit better with a stone. Not many people were walking to the point while we were there. TFTC!
Found with Gazania Rigens after a bit of a search around the likely hint items.I left it ~6 inches from where we found it but as per hint and where it can be reached when the gate is locked (eg during lambing). A stone now provides necessary camo. TFTC

A nice quick find in between people - a busy spot! Really enjoyed our walk to Slope Point, very cool to go to the southernmost point of the South Island. Thanks for placing and maintaining the cache, much appreciated.
We had to think twice about doing this cache as there was a roaring gale and some heavy showers today - but it was nice and close, so we took a chance that we wouldn't get blown away or drenched. The chance paid off. Cache is all good. TFTC
Looked before and after the walk - but maybe was at the wrong hint item. Too wet to stay long on the return visit.
So cold and windy here today - so didnt stay long.The weather has made it a bit easier for me to locate without being spied.TFTC

After looking for a moment at the 0m- point without success, we scrolled down the comments and found it afterwards at a place we wouldn't expect. It was a few meters more north than expected. Anyways: Thank you for hiding at this wonderful place!
Really disappointed not to find the cache, hint is straightforward enough.. may do with a check
Needed #5999 for a 6000th find at Slope Point. Had our hopes on this one but could not find it! Arghh, what post, why?? Anyway, after 10 mins we resorted to the cache down the road, which was found immediately, so lucky for us we could still make the walk to Slope Point for #6000. Wonder if this one is missing or, more likely, we were to excited to locate it
Log is full. Hiding a little way from gz but not hard once we widened our search. Tftc

Day 5: The CatlinsOur journey today took us down to the Catlins for a whirlwind tour of all the sights we could squeeze into a day trip. Of course, there were geocaches to be had too, plus plenty of photos and sightseeing. Thankfully the weather held up for most parts today, so we could enjoy all the great scenery and the geocaches as well!(end of the cut and paste bit)Our final stop for the day was here at Slope Point, and after getting out of the car, I made a beeline for the GZ, but poked at a few wrong places initially before getting to the right spot. Thanks for the lovely start to the walk, and for the cache!
After traveling around Australia with Oopie for 7 weeks, we have now been traveling with the camper in New Zealand for 4 weeks. Along the way we will of course also visit various types of caches in beautiful places, including this one. Thanks CO for creating and laying this cache.
Together with Travelser I'm going Down Under. We are driving around with a motorhome. After 7 weeks driving around through Australia we arrived the 2th November in New Zealand. For ten days we will cross the Northern Island and than for 2 weeks the Southern Island.During our trip we of course search for several caches. Most of them brought us to very nice spots, like this one.All the CO's, and in this case kiwiarmy, thanks for bringing us here and give our trip a special accent.
A lovely day for a walk. No luck on the way to the point, but tried a different spot on the way out and found success. Logbook full.
We were very careful with the electric fence but luckily it wasnt activated when we accidentally touched it. Fabulous location for a cache to live.
I found this geocache today and signed the logbook. Thanks for this cache and it's maintaining.
Found a cache but not as described. This was clear small sample bottle with log and 2 metres north of gz . Also tucked behind fence post . Tyftc. From uk.

#5.614After our southernmost cache find, it seems like this was going to be our southernmost DNF. But luckily their was no power on the fence and we didn't give up until we had the right post.TFTC says team mastba from Hamburg/Germany
Cache 1479 Took a trip out this way to get my needed pic for the close by virtual for this months geo challenge icons so I couldn’t pass up nabbing this trad while here, fair warning mind the ELECTRIC ️ FENCE that has now been placed in front of the fence line with flaxes make sure you stay low so you don’t zap your head on it, while getting the cache. Cache was in good condition but will probably soon need a new log book as what’s in there is getting full T4TC
