Beautiful walk but no luck! The GPS kept jumping around due to poor reception which didn’t help. We’ll try again another day

It's been a while but got out and about today with the bestie to log some caches. The 3rd to log on this walk. No luck on this one and it sounds like it maybe gone awol. Great walk anyway. Tyftc
Went for a walk with a friend today. We looked where is should have been but it was not there.
The bananas took the long walk. Parked the car in the suggested position. Love the engineering of the old structures. A lovely place to walk indeed
Growing up the neighbour was head of the Public Works Department. The government arm of Civil Works responsible for most of the water storage built after the 1940's. Unfortunately this weir was built a little too early, otherwise it would still be the local water supply. Most of his builds are still in place including Blue Lake Dam and finally the Thompson Dam before retirement. His biggest achievement was the Hoover Dam which now supplies Las Vegas with water by blocking the Colorado River. An image built on his own land to supply water to his orchard that was never built. A lovely neighbourhood feature where so many days of recreation was spent.
D.B. Smith was a superb engineer.
Around Victoria his work is everywhere, when Dam building was a priority.
But not here.

A beautiful time of year with millions of daisies on the hillside. Cicadas singing the song of summer.
Found on the 20/11 with Bigrobv
We walked along the Billy Creek Track on this beautiful warm day and came across plenty of wildlife. We saw kangaroos, an echidna, a wallaby, a frog and a sweet blue tongue lizard. There were a few rustling bushes but we tried not to think about what may be hiding in them... Upon arriving at the weir we set about looking in the most difficult of places first (naturally) and Bigrobv remarked at his decision to wear shorts. Luckily I had added some stingoes to my caching bag to combat the stinging nettles! As I sat down to grab a tissue for my fired up hayfever Bigrobv found the cache in the much easier to access location. After signing we made our way back to the car and even though I had been looking forward to a decent walk today I wasn't up for much more after we got back there. Thanks for placing this cache here, I have some lovely memories of this particular location and now I have another one

Upon arrival at GZ both NoonaB I decided we knew where the cache should be.. so i decided to brave the long grass, black berries and stinging nettles whilst wearing shorts (i was never the smartest cacher) and after a few minutes with no luck we decided to take a break and enjoy the surrounding area and wild life (whilst applying liberal amounts of stingoes to my legs). it was then that i saw an area and thought "of course". the cache was quickly in hand from the easier more obvious place, log signed and we were again on our way. thanks for the hide.
Find #1199
The weir was our destination for the walk this morning (though mine was really the cache nearby!)
My phone was not playing nicely but I just reflected on where would I hide a cache here and I found in the first spot I looked. It was nice to read about the local history of the weir and enjoy the peace and quiet. I love how caching takes me to different places I would likely never visit otherwise. TFTC!

Nice little walk up the creek! Spent countless hours up here fly fishing and never thought that only metres away could be a cache. Found it in seconds after we checked the clue!
Unfortuently didn't have a pen on us so will have to sign the book next time.
Good fun and a great walk.

Lucky I persisted with this one, there is a lot of
The hint about and coupled with poor gps and LOTS of stinging nettle it was definitely a challenge. Great walk and I would like to do more of the trail, once the stinging nettle bites stop

No way! This was SO easy today. Last time, two people, 30 mins intense search. Cache was definitely not in this spot last time. Glad to convert this to a smiley face.
My parents live just up the road and I am back here for the school holidays. Set of with Kstam on this glorious day for a nice walk and a spot of caching. Left a couple of swaps, a ninja turtle and a green compass. Love this spot and so nice to have some caches along here to find! Thanks a lot for the cache!
This took us for ages!!!!!!!! But really worth the find. Had a little help from the cache owners. Took the staple remover and replaced with cat office clip. Than you so so so much!!! 20th !!!!

Spent at least half an hour looking for this sucker. GPS was putting us in the middle of a grassy area. Two of us searched all the logs over and over and got stung by the nettles in the process. Ouch. Still smarting hours later.
Heading home after a long weekend of yaking n Cacheing and Mrs Bear spotted this one hadn't been done in a while , it was kinda on our way home from Port Albert hey what's another hike , lovely walk in the area we spotted some Roos and a couple of lyrebirds well worth the detour Thanx for the Adventure cache still in good condition
Finally found it after 2 years was thinking I might need a cut lunch for this one. I like the key ring inside TFTC

Find # 3587
Streak: 192 days
Headed out this way today on a 40+ degree day, hoping for a FTF on the Leaky Cauldron cache. It was a decent drive from home, made even longer with some police diversions at Newborough due to some fires.
Continued along the track from the first of the series. The sun was starting to really heat up now, so I was glad most of the walking had some sort of shade. Once at GZ, the first place I checked I came up empty handed, so after I switched from my phone to My GPSr, it led me to a different spot where I found the cache straight away. Lots of spiky and poisonous plants around here at GZ. I cant believe it has not been found since April last year!
Thanks to Crisp image for the cache. TNLN

Enjoying a late afternoon stroll from where we are house sitting nearby. Spent a good half hour beating our way thru blackberries & nettles to any spot that fitted the hint. There was one spot that is entirely overgrown that we were unable to search. We enjoyed the walk anyway. Thanks for bringing us here.
3rd time lucky with this one. We live nearby, so its never a chore to walk to the weir on a warm, sunny day. Lots of blue wrens out, but we didn't get to see the wombat that lives near the bridge.
No swaps today, TFTC

GRT opening day and 2nd find on the track. Found and logged and RELOGGED.Enjoyed the hunt .
It has taken me over 18 months to find this cache lol. Last time I came here the cache was gone and then the replacement also disappeared. Today all was well and I found a container right where it should have been. Enjoyed the walk again and will probably visit again. Nice stroll. TNLN Thanks Crispy for keeping this one going.

Had a chance to go for a nice walk in the park today and check on this cache. Well the hiding spot was no longer there and so neither was the cache. I replaced the cache and moved it to a new location

The water in the creeks was at the top of there banks and the water was flowing very fast over the weir. Looked around for about half and hour in the pouring rain but couldn't find the cache same DNF as the last 2 geoers. The only thing I got for the picnic area was a itchy arm from some stinging neetles that brushed my arm. You wouldn't want to fall into this stuff as it would be very unpleasnt. You might need to check this one to see if it is still there. Thanks anyway to Crisp Image for bring me here to see the weir in all it glory.
searched, searched, searched had a rest searched some more, couldnt find .. hope its still there, gps. was throwing around a bit so spent quite a bit of time looking to no avail.
Found at an obvious spot after being dragged kicking and screaming along some horribly steep and winding mountain goat paths by WAM78. I needed oxygen when I got back to the car and with not be able to move for the rest of the week because of seized up muscles. Luckily I found the hidden treasure to sooth the pain. TNLN, thanks for the cache
Found at 11:20am. It was a good morning for a fresh invigorating bush walk not sure if ratbag will agree with this but anyway it was thanks to her good eyesight that the cache was found as the gps was all over the place today. Always enjoy the walk out here, the water running in the creek was not as clear as I have seen it in the past so no fish spotted today but skippy did watch us walk in and out. Thanks

After picking up Williams Stream just down the track thought this one would be another nice easy one. At GZ met a nice older couple who asked what brings you here. Told them about caching and they were keen to help look. After 20 mins we were a bit disapointed to come up empty handed. Hope it's still there. Gps was a bit vauge with the large trees but I thought I had a good idea where it should be. Walk wasn't wasted, saw a BIG freshwater crayfish and a small trout in the stream. I'll be back another day to find the prize. Thanks Crisp image for the walk and hunt.
1176 A rather enjoyable walk with the kangaroos to a rather easy find (past somewhere I plan to put that cache I told you about) to a rather nice location which would be a perfect picnic spot if anyone is interested. In your absence I had to get this one first try because YOU'RE NOT HERE ARE YOU?? TFTC Crisp Image
720. What a great place the sort I like where there is a cache and one Mrs K likes because of the Birding, were both Happy I Located the cache and Mrs.K. alot of Birding, were here for the walk and what an experience Thanks for bringing use to this great place-Crisp image
Yes, Yes, Yes!!!!!!!! A fine F.T.F! Saw this one last week and assumed someone would go for it over the weekend. As it had not been logged by Sunday morning I suggested to Ladybug that we go for a drive/walk that afternoon. She was reluctant due to the very long grass (and what may lurk therein) on our last visit to the area. So "that was that". Checked again on Sunday night and decided to have a walk after work one evening. Today was the day and I really expected it to have been found. Succesfully located at 1700hrs.
Have not been here for a while - what a great walk it was. Through dappled sunlight with lots of birds, insects and fish! No koalas, kangas or snakes! Once I had located the cache I did not want to return as it was so pleasant resting nearby. Thanks Crisp Image for the chance to complete another of your excellent caches. Took nothing and left a dollar coin for the second to find. I recommend this cache.
