Stopped past this arvo, tasted a paddle of the cider and I had to go have a look for the geo - especially for an interesting DT combo. After about 5 minutes of searching, and wondering what structure it was on, I had the cache in my fingers. The log book is really full, so had to squish my name in & took some photos out the front. I havent been in this area long, but I love it. Thanks for the cache here! Another tick on my DT grid.
3rd time lucky -- YAY we Eventually found it. TFTC JENPETEH, The H,s , South Africans living in Tassie GeoCaching our way around Australia and loving it
Today husband and I are visiting Huonville and surrounds and then off for lunch at Home Hill for husbands early 65th Birthday lunch. We had a rather splendid day and fantastic meal. Luckily we had packed the TOTTs as the pole was required on more than one occasion.Stopped here to check out Willies place, looks great. We will come back after Easter for a piece of .Thought this one might take a while to find but before the husband had finished in the museum I had CIH and we were on our way. Found a tiny spot to scrawl M&H.TFTC
Im having a couple of weeks off and Im spending the first few days down in the South of Tassie to find 8 different types, 25 of one type and also any LGAs that I come across to help fulfil a few of the challenges that Im working on.Also Im trying to keep my small streak going to beat my last streak of 67 days.Well I noticed this one and after seeing what the rating is I thought that this could take awhile but I had to still give it a go.Well it was about 15mins and I then did a happy dance.I spotted in a spot that I had already checked but not to well it seems. Thanks craig_appz TFTC.
Spent about 1/2 hour here looking for it in the tree then searching the ground, incase it had fallen out. Too good for us on a few occassions. Maybe next time. Thanks anyway.
We're heading South today and stopped by for the cache, didn't take as long as I expectedand managed to squeeze in a 10K on the log. Tftc
Taking some time off to explore more of the apple isle with Roaming Howie. Day Two: Bruny Island, Mt Wellington and various caches & AdLabs along the way.
Woohoo! We expected this to take a lot longer than it did. Sneaky!
Added our names to a tiny space in a very full logbook.
Thanks for bringing us here by placing this cache, craig_appz

It was time for a return trip to Tassie to explore the southern part of the state. I paired up with OzHockeyChick for a 5 day caching blitz with some sightseeing in between. Today was Day 2 and we were exploring around Hobart, Bruny Island, Mount Wellington and surrounds.
OzHockeyChick for the win here. We searched a few locations before OzHockeyChick revealed all we needed.
Thanks craig_appz for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

What a good day! We not only went to see snow on Mt Wellington, after the road had been blocked early, we found this cache which gives us our first 5/1 on the way to completing our grid.
We spend 10 minutes no luck, we took refuge inside with a paddle and loaded fries with pulled pork, sitting by the fire.
We set the timer for another 20 minutes when we returned. We only needed 4 and Mr Unssy had it in hand.
A huge Thankyou

Stopped for what we thought was a quick one but then saw the difficulty. Thankfully found in a few minutes. Obvious enough location tftc
Day 3of our road trip around eastern side of Tassie. Enjoying the scenery and coffee as we go a cider tasting here and a smilie. Signed log as n2o. Tftc
Not a great start to our Huon Valley morning cache adventure (with AddisonPascal and CHEXi), oh well, hopefully we have more luck with the next ones!
Our original plan for the day was to head up to Orford to try and find some more of the tiger snake series but when I got a notification about a new ad lab and bonus at Dover, we couldn’t resist trying to get a first to find. We took the Huon highway on the way in with plans to take the longer way through police point on the way back. A great day out with a total of eighteen finds.
No luck here but we were short on time. Maybe next time.

Found and signed while on a 10 day holiday with my love doing what we love doing most. [:X]
Took longer to roll the scroll.
Some days you just get lucky.
After being chased South a little early by the weather, catnap777 and I just set up camp in Hobart and beyond for a little while longer which suited us just fine. We had a lot of geocaching business down there that kept us very busy till well after the water's had receded back up north. [^]
Targetted more for its high D rating, this cache aided our challenge aspirations by also giving us a find in yet another county. By the end of our holiday, we had found and signed a log for at least one cache in every county on the main Island.

I have grouped this traditional cache generic log pertaining to each CO. I shall only deviate from the generic if there was an issue with the cache .
I would like to thank all of you for your time and effort in placing and maintaining your caches, and this generic log has nothing to do with disrespecting your time in placing them out there, as it has to do with time restraints due to the great number of caches my partner dalerious and I signed here.
EACH and every cache we visited was special, and we thank you so much. Most were chosen to qualify for Challenge caches both here and on the mainland .
There are too many of you to name individually so please accept that I acknowledge you all and I am truly grateful for your contribution and understanding .
We had this trip to Tasmania on our wish list very soon after we met. The meticulous planning began a few months ago when we finally set a date to sail to a place that I had been before, but never cached, and for dalerious, a place he cached, but never really got to see the real beauty of this place, and all it's glory. God's country about sums it up.
We started our adventure in the North West and traversed the entire Island in 10 days. We thought the weather was going to thwart our plans, but all it did was change the itinerary a tad.
Where back home was flooding, we had mostly sunshine here; apart from the North of your lovely state, and our thoughts were with those who were affected both here and at home.
Caches here took us to extraordinary places; one's we will never forget.
We also got to meet some cachers; we can't wait to meet the rest .

We are visiting from Melbourne, down here for the U13 State Hockey Carnival.
As there was a few hours between games, we decided to take a drive to Huonville and return back via the coast.
We stopped here to stretch our legs and grab a drink and purchased a box of Tassie Pink Lady apples. They are yummy by the way. Ofcourse the map was checked and we saw there was a D5 Trad here so we walked around to the front and started looking. It was hubby that found the little blither after a short search. We were all disappointed with ourselves that we treated it like it was going to be more complicated than that, whereas hubby went for the obvious.
Thank you for the cache here craig appz

Our kids are finally old enough to look after themselves for a few days. So, with my wife having some holidays coinciding with their school holidays, she and I took the opportunity for a quick 6 day tour - with no kids - of a few carfeully selected areas of Tasmania. We opted for the first night in Richmond, before continuing on to Bruny Island, then Hobart and the Tasman Peninsula.
After doing some research prior to the trip, my wife pencilled in a visit to Willie Smith's early on. We tried to book a late lunch online, but they were fully booked. So when we driving past we stopped anyway and managed to snag a seat at a table for two looking out the window. Brilliant! I like cider, so I was in heaven with the tasting paddle. Add in some cider marinated pulled pork taco's and the roast pumpkin (just unbelievable), plus a few schooners of the best tasters and I was a happy man. The only bad thing was that we couldn't stay longer.
So with a rosy glow on my cheeks from the food and drink inside, I ventured out into the cold to search for this cache with its somewhat rare DT. With time getting away, I was even happier when I managed to find this sneaky micro hidden in a spot I had taken a cursory look at early on.
Many thanks craig_appz.

5 years later... I first looked for this cache roughly 5 years ago on a visit to Tasmania.
4 years ago I moved to Tasmania and drove past this cache almost 5 days a week ever since.
I had stopped here twice more, once on a very busy day so only had a quick, look, another in the evening with wet grass and fading light. Finally after asking Old Saint for advice I decided to stop and try again. He did suggest it may have moved from where he found it. This proved true after an extensive search of the suggested area. So this time in the dark, by the light from my phone, after much searching the cache was found in a surprisingly easy place. If only I had looked at the object more closely from the beginning instead of discounting it several times. Interesting historic items and a good fun hunt for the cache. Glad to have this one ticked off. Thanks.

We attempted this cache too often. It's always busy, so we went there in the evening, with just the light of our phones this time. S_38 was about to give up, but I was very determined. It was this determination that made that S_38 finally yelled - got it. And then it's a pretty obvious spot, really. Thanks for this dark adventure.
27,060. Found with minniek during Day 3 of our Southern Australian meander.
Today our plan was to head out and grab a couple more Local Government Areas, then concentrate on some city caches before heading to the Community Celebration Event, which was the main reason for visiting Tasmania this time. After the event it was off to the airport for the hop to Melbourne for another Community Celebration Event. This cache was on our list, and we were ready for a long search. But then it was in the first place I looked - Yay ! Signed/Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued on to the next cache on our list.
Thanks craig_appz !!

Fitzy_1965 and I decided to do a bit of a whirlwind holiday visiting family and caching along the way. We did three states in four days. Tiring but so worth it. We are just waiting for Western Australia to open up and then we will be there too!
Day 3 gave us a bit of a sleep in before heading out for the day. We targeted a few more LGA’s, some interesting D/T’s and a lab or two. The main reason for our visit, a Community Celebration Event was the highlight. Unfortunately, we couldn’t stay long as we had to get to our flight to Melbourne. As it turns out, the flight was delayed, and we could have stayed longer. Oh well, next time!
All caches were found quickly and easily unless otherwise stated. Thanks so much to all CO’s for your hides.

My first D5 cache and oh boy it took my family of 3 and an hour to help me find it
Looked for ages. Caching today to get the enough points for the Summit Challenge. Will be back when we have more time.
Searched for a while but couldn’t find but then the rest of our team came and searched again and hit the jackpot!! Very hard hide!!

This was a tricky little one. The trickiest part though was putting the log back in the container.

Nanos. Yucky. Leaves a bad taste in your mouth. This one would be hard to pass.
Off to Hobart for an overnight trip and to also pick up the other half on her flight from Adelaide. I decided to do all the caches that were new along the Highway plus pick up a few targets in Hobart.
Thanks for the cache

The challenge was on. Gcoven couldn't find this cache last time here. With three sets of eyes, the cache didn't stand a chance but it did take a shortwhile to find. Pity the establishment close by wasn't opened to celebrate the find. TFTC craig_appz.
You just can’t drive by an alluring DT such as this without a look. Three of us today and we found our smile in about 10 mins. Yay!
Down in the Apple Isle with JACS and TeamARF for a week or so to hunt some caches and traipse about having adventures. Fab puzzles and wonderful countryside. Awesome caches all round! We are thoroughly enjoying this adventure and grabbing some very well maintained oldies awesome locations. Today was mostly about Penguins! Adorable little creatures with an entire named in their honour and a GeoArt. We had a ball today despite it being along one! Finished off some LGAs and of course another cemetery. Tftc
Were on our way to Huonville for a day of caching.
Stopped by this one for a VERY quick look and couldn’t find it but had a rough idea where it was.
Given it was a D5 we gave up and went on our way.
Whilst caching we came across OldSaint who was able to steer us in the right direction for this one so we came back and made the find.
Probably wouldn’t have found it otherwise!

A D5....no problem, I have Aquilus1 with me who can spend 30 minutes on D1 hides but D5's are eaten for breakfast.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Aquilus1 and I have been on a mission.....a mission to collect Australian states/counties. The target this time was Tasmania, with neither of us having found a cache yet in Tassie. So a loop was planned, starting/finishing in Lonny (even the plane pilot called it this!! Love that!). I was driving so my logs are a little more generic than Aquilus1's, my apologies.
Day #1 Leave Canberra at sparrows, transiting through Melbourne and collecting our car....first things first was to get the oldies along the cataract gorge, which was great as Aquilus1 had never been to Tassie before and its a great place to start. Onwards up the Tamar and then zigzagging across through Devonport, Burnie and eventually ending at Stanley.
Day #2 had us go back to Devonport for a FTF......yay! Then onto Hobart, via Queenstown! Long day through blizzards, hydro power and SO MUCH NOTHING! Beautiful nothing of course
Day #3 around Tassie.....into Huon valley, freezing to death in the water in Clarence, passed Port Arthur to see some caves and ending up in Sorrell
Day #4 was power trailing large letterboxes until we had to head back north to Lonny, via Buckland, Oatlands, Fingal and Scottsdale..... dodging wildlife after dark.....so scary!
Day #5 was a quick duck over to Flinders and back..... car rental place thought we were nuts! Then back to Canberra, safe and snug under my blanket for the -5 night.....now THATS cold!

A county find for us here and markets on today too. A D5 filled me with joy and as is often the way with these it was the first place I looked! Now had this been a D1, not a hope of seeing it... It's just the way it works!
Trip log: We stayed just north of Hobart arriving in the night and awoke to a chilly but lovely sunny day. Mt Wellington was impressive and the white fluffy cloud covering it hid the snow it was covered in for most of the day.
A day of local counties had us in many directions, missing caches and closed roads due to the overnight snow had us changing plans at times but it all worked out well.
Hobart was an interesting and super enjoyable place that had a nice feel about it, I did enjoy Hobart... It's just a lovely area with the hills and water and so much historic buildings and homes.
A great DT cache had GreyHams out in the water, super cold water that ended up a swim. Huge appreciation and respect for that, it was freezing fully clothed and dry!
Down past Port Arthur for a very old virtual late in the afternoon had us driving through yet more interesting scenery. It was later by the time our search for accomadation was complete but Sorrel delivered with rooms and dinner.
An enjoyable day in and around Hobart, the waterways, mountains and valleys... Tasmania continues to impress as we cache our way around.

Searched for about 15 minutes but with so much traffic going past it was not easy to get many chances. Will try again another time.
I came across this cache late in the afternoon after a days geo-outing last sunday in the company of budgietas and oldsaint..
I raised an interested eyebrow at the unique d/t and in short order we were soon stopped and Inspecting the incriminating object in question.
Actually got super lucky and spied my prize almost instantly so a swb scratched in and we rehid it properly claimed the past finders.
Thank you so much for hiding a cache outside this local icon in such a devilish way!

The starting point for a search was pretty obvious - but from there, it was a process of elimination. We tried many options before Dragonee tried something (for the second time) and there it was. TFTC

The car parking area was about 80m from where my gps was pointing me, but in any case I seached a bit, but didn't have any luck on this occasion.
At the start of our holiday I met an ex-local that now lives in Brisbane and was down visiting family. He gave us some wineries to go to, some restaurants to eat at and some places to drive to. One of his tips was the Huon Valley and it hadn’t disappointed.
At our last cache he actually rang up to see how we were enjoying the holiday. When he heard we had taken his advice and were in Huonsville he told us we had to pull into Willie Smiths for a cider tasting. He hadn’t steered us wrong yet so we stopped in on the drive back into town.
I grabbed a tasting platter and when I saw the alcohol percentages of the cider went back to the half-pot selection. We raced through the tasting because it was a bit wild for our liking except the Wild which was OK. Instead of walking away with a 6-pack we left with some tea and a cache find. tftc

When i first noticed this one on my map back in March of 2019, when i was down here in Tassie {from Adelaide} visiting Family, we had already driven past it on our way back to Hobart.......... D-Oh!
It had to wait till this trip {Dec 19 / Jan 20}
I found myself looking here, there and everywhere till it was eventually found, pretty much accidentally {pure luck}. Dirty hands and all, i signed the log with my Muggle brother interested in the fact it was a 5D hide
Very happy to find it [^]
Went back inside Willie Smiths and grabbed me a Traditional Cider... nice drop indeed
Have a Favourite Point. Share it between, Willie Smiths, The sinister hide {even though i found it with sheer luck} and for the D-Star reward

Excited to find a difficulty 5 cache. Mind you it was NOT easy. We spent ages. There were 4 of us looking hard. When it was finally found we all said, but I looked there. How could it have been there all this time? We must certainly have been very blind. We had enjoyed a nice look around the museum before taking on the hunt. TFTC...giving another FP. ...eatmorchikin from Brisbane!
Sooo disappointed to DNF. Spent over an hour crawling in the wet grass, over under and round. Arghhh. Flying out soon so cant stay until shed opens to ask for a hint, boo hoo . Will just have to come back and try again next time.
After a very nice lunch we headed outside in search of this rare D/T cache. We've driven past this cache very many times but haven't stopped to search for it until today. We were in the company of our friends Wazza9 and Nana Nel who are staying with us for a while, and thankfully Wazza9 found the cache very quickly! The log was full so Nana Nel returned to the car to grab a spare, but it was a little to wide to fit. If only we had some scissors...All of a sudden, a car went past beeping it's horn. It stopped, turned around, and would you believe it, Old Saint was passing by, with scissors! TFTC!

TFTC,
Sometimes these are hard and sometimes very easy. It was my turn to find it very very easy where I am usually spending hours looking for these and giving up.
Today I was also nasty and picked it up without being seen by The Hancock Clan or Nana nel who all continued to search while I opened it and checked the log out.
After a while I asked who had a replacement Nano log and they all looked to see what I was talking about. Several Not Happy Jan looks but all was good and Nana nel went to get the new log from the car which we all signed and were trying to replace when we got tooted and assumed it was a cacher.
The car turned around and returned for a chat and we got to meet Old Saint. We asked if he had any siscors and like a true Geocacher, he was able to help us out so that we could cut about 1 mm from the side of the replacement log sheet so that it would fit.
All good in the world and it was time to replace the cache where we found it and move on. Old Saint did show us where it was originally hidden but the piece that supported the Nano is long gone.
Adding a favourite and visiting trackables.

We had a lovely lunch at the Apple restaurant, with The Hancock Clan and Wazza9, wazza9 was nasty while we covered the whole piece of machinery searching, he had the cache all the time, we were lucky the log was full or he probably would have put it back. For once I had a spare log, signed log and replaced. Then Old Saint stopped it was nice to meet him. Thanks to craig_appz
An absolutely amazing part of the local history, this is why we enjoy Geocaching, seeing the country through the eyes of a Geocacher.
From an Apple Orchard family ourselves, it was a wonderful inspiration to see what the family has done here.
We thank you for sharing this interesting place.
We found your cache tucked away nicely and signing duties done and dusted, we replaced the cache as found.

Looked for five minutes but still couldn’t find it might be back again for a better look
We were determined to find this cache as our friends had spent some time looking a couple of days ago. Yes, it's easy to over think this. Eventually we made the find. TFTC
Found with stairman1. We are heading south today and was approaching this one and had to grab this one. It was a little difficult to look when all the cars were zipping past. After 10 mins we managed to grab it. TFTC
Schnell gefunden nach unserer Wanderung im Mt National Park und auf dem Weg nach Hobart...
Nur Dank des Hints gefunden.

Uh-oh, limited time and a difficulty rating of 5! Oh well, it might be worth having a look. A muggle taking photo's slowed me down even further so that the time available expired, so I will have to come back to have another go at this one.
Omg!! Spend so much time looking for it.. And in the end it was so easy!! Thanks!
Out today with RLD4963 and the GeoGSP. We had had a great day, with no DNF's until RLD4963 decided that we could spend 10 minutes looking for this one. I hate finishing the day with DNF's but I joined in the search, and made a very determined and methodical approach. After 20 minutes of rolling around the lawn beside the Huon Highway, (the GeoGSP also did some rolling around on the lawn), I was ready to head home......pity that was how the day ended. will be back sometime.....
Came back twice while holidaying here and searched for a good hour and a half total but to no avail. Thought i was into it but then couldn't get the lid off so guess that wasnt it!!! Unfortunately we are heading back to Victoria tomorrow so will have to leave this one for another time.
Tassie Trip Day 71 - Today we returned to our treck around the country to see what we could find around the channel island country with a start at gordon and continuing around to Hounville before returning to snug.
We had a real bugger of a time with the GPS but the nearby piece of equipment meant that it was probably the correct area and after a search and a little more search and even more searching we eventually found that little prize and entered the paperwork.
Thanks craig_appz for showing us this wonderful place and the unique D/T it was nice to grab that one.
