We looked here for some time. Coords from GPS was actually sending us just outside the structure, but after some searching we still came up with nothing. Possibly worth a check from CO.
Being my Last day geocaching in the Ballarat district I planned a short day because I had other things to do before leaving. This cache was a quick find but I think I was lucky with just a little bit of geocaching sense thrown in. TFTC.
Found, very sneaky! Thought about climbing the ladder for a look but didn't. TFTC
I lived in Geelong and Ballarat for 40 years and this is the first time I have been into Lal Lal. Thanks for bringing me here

Found It.......On the last day of holidays it was decided to head up this way and pick up some more caches. After a big afternoon we where heading back through here in the dark and decided to try and get this. After pulling up we set to looking here and there but after 10 min we where getting wetter and wetter so back to the Geo Truck to look over the previous finders logs but nothing stood out other than it wasn't up the top, So back in we went and something caught MrH_3's eyes and sure enough Bingo there it was. So with the log signed we continued on our way. Thanks Speedy Stamps for the cache
This sure was a well hidden cache and a very small one. After searching for a while we were just in the right place to see something that proved to be the tiny cache!
It was a very interesting water tower to see and we wondered how long it took to build in those days? Thanks for the great notes - much appreciated.
TFTC Speedy Stamps and bringing us here to see this historic water tower.

Second cache for our trip to Surfmoot from SA, on a trip over with 8 SA Rovers. They enjoyed looking at the water tower whilst I located the cache after a few minutes. TFTC
Found with kejajo89 a while back but didn't have an account, went back to sign the log 2 months ago but forgot to log the cache on here. Sorry for the late log.
Great spot to explore, recommend checking out the rest if the historic parts of the area too!

Its amazing how many times you drive past something and not see.... And its worse when you go looking for the cache before you admire the surrounds. But this place was worth a second look, and admire!!!tftc.
Found after the International Earth caching day 2017 Lal Lal event today.
We didn't climb the ladder but we did take a walk down to the water's edge and took some photos.
Thanks for the cache Speedy Stamps.

This one took me much longer than it needed as I missed the sneaky hide the first 2 times. I climbed the ladder and peered into the tank before resuming my search...3rd time lucky! Thanks Speedy Stamps, this is a cool location.
Another lovely spot in Lal Lal.
Found with n0w0rries after the nearby earthcache day event

I have not seen a water tower like this one before and found it quite interesting. I wandered around, in, out up and down until the cache was in hand. Very satisfying. TFTC
Now that was different, never seen that before. Might pinch that idea. I walked around for a fair while before I utilised my TOTT, and acquired the cache quickly.
My first one after attending the Earthcache Day.
Thanks for placing it here

Today, Sheppythekid, geobub and myself spent the day in the Lal Lal area grabbing the caches in the area. This is a fantastic area with a great mix of landscape, history and geology to be seen. We had a great day even though it rained of and on with a really strong wind in the exposed areas.
They don't make structures like this any more. The stonework is superb. We looked all around for this little blighter, but as i was looking through one of the windows i glanced across and thought that looks a likely spot and soon had the logged signed.
Whilst here, you should check out the railway station, an other magnificent old building, pity the cache that was there is gone and deserves to be replaced.
Thanks speedy stamps for showing us this great piece of local history, cheers BWBandit

Out with the banded and Geo but love this old building same as the train station Bluestone is fantastic thanks for bringing me here found the signed and replaced
Spent most of the day on back roads and dirt tracks turning green boxes into smiles.
What an awesome historical structure which had me going round in circles looking for the hide, I double checked where I first looked and there it was, didn't look hard enough the first time. The ladder was to tempting to be left unused.
Log signed and replaced as found

Done with autumntree.
In Ballarat for the weekend (Geokids have Monday off as well). came to the surrounds then in town of Creswick. We have had a great day out with Autumntree getting her 1000 th cache along the way.

Stopped in to Lal Lal on the way home to Geelong from our extended Ballarat trip. 7yo geokid spent the entire time trying to convince one of the adults to go up the ladder with him. It did't work. Quick find with a bit of effort required to dislodge it, We did as suggested in the cache. Thanks for the cache.
Interesting tower, teenage daughter climbed it.
Nice cache, didn't end up being too hard to spot, though a little tricky to get at.

The GeoFamily headed off to Ballarat for a mini-holiday over the Easter weekend, and to explore more of the area than what we normally see when we're up this way (usually to go to Sovereign Hill).
Lal Lal was our first area of exploration, stopping at the water tower for this cache. It's a very interesting structure! I got very lucky with the search, finding the cache in the first place I looked!
The GeoKids were more fascinated with the ladder than with the cache. Fortunately it still seems quite sturdy.
Log signed and all replaced as found.

Well, I found myself out here unexpectedly and unnecessarily with time. So what do you do with time? What else? The tower is amazing, but after hiking for 2 days on a different adventure, I decided not to tackle the ladder. But I did go for a wander around, through, back around and through again, until I finally took a sneak peek at the clue. Glad I did, or I might still be there! Great location, great little hide! Thanks for giving me purpose to what easily could have been a wasted drive! TFTC
Awesome building!! Muggle ben has put me put me to shame, making all the finds this evening. Lots of mozzies here!
But worth it. Tftc

Wow that was a hard one to find. As people have said the GPS was out by a mile! Great hide though!
First geochache for me(abit late) but it was a great thrill. Brilliant little one!
After camping nearby on the property of a friend, I decided to have a second look here. Finding this one very quickly today I am puzzled that I left here with a sad face on my previous visit. I loved the old structure and the clever hide which I am giving A fave point TFTC Speedy Stamps
My husband is awesome at finding ones that i cannot find great hidden treasure this is
Wow. What a beautiful location and structure. With it being the last day of school holidays we thought we would head out for a country drive and do some caching despite the wicked forecast. I am so glad we did as this is such a beautiful area. Tftc speedy stamps we are looking forward to exploring the area before the bad weather comes.
Stopped in on the way back from checking out the Falls after some decent rain. Good hide and interesting building and history.
Out of the house for some well earned fresh air and decided to come out to lal lal. Can't remember the last time I was out here but remembered coming here often as kids for picnics. Honestly can't remember this building but how cool is it and the cache was awesome thanks for bringing us here
After some beautiful scenery up at Lal Lal falls, Moorabool Falls and surrounding areas we had a couple of wet and cold children in the car but we all needed a drink before heading up the road towards home. So I pulled over here at get the drinks from the back of the car. While the cold children stayed in the car we had a quick hunt for this little guy. It was too long before Neville_devil made the yell of found it
Nevile and Miss12 both decided that they would climb the ladder for a good look at the water tower.
Thank you Speedy Stamps for bringing us to this very interesting structure.

It was up the the Lal Lal falls today for an HQ Duck Race event that I had planned for some time. It was a great excuse to visit this location that I had never been to before and to have a meet and great among many cachers from different parts. It was very, very cold but the views and the company were worth the trip outside. After we moved on from the event we stopped here at the impressive old water tower. The GPSr had us looking elsewhere before we moved and finally found this one tucked away, a little higher than my waist. Signed and replaced as found.
**Thanks for this trad cache, Speedy Stamps** [^]
**Cache container and log in good condition**
**Took Nothing, Left signature**

At the Lal Lal duck event today, so doing all the nearby caches too. Great location in this area. We are having a very fun day today. Grabbed this one on the way home. A quick find after a short search. Was undecided what to do about the log as a couple of cachers had not done as stated. We decided to just do what was instructed. Interesting. TFTC today. We love old structures.
My second attempt at this one and with the help of maccamob I was finally able to achieve a smiley here. I am sure I had looked here previously but with the gps all over the place I was glad to finally sign the log. Thanks for the challenge Speedy Stamps
we looked, we shone our torches, we measured our waists against the structure, but no smiley for us today.
Found it after attend the event at Lal Lal Falls..
Impressive water tower here.
Found it after a bit of search.
Great hide

A relatively quick find today although the cache was hiding a little. I like the log concept. Thanks Speedy Stamps, very interesting piece of history.
A sneaky hide! But not sneaky enough for sak1794 who was searching from a different direction and made the find before me! Great historical location.
Taking on the back roads around Ballarat on another glorious autumn day. Another great geocache adventure. Never knew this was here and a good hide to boot. Thanks speedy stamps.

Stopped on my way home this morning to get the cache and some pics of the tower at sunrise.
I thought i found it a few years ago but after going back to my old log it was just a dnf.
All up between the pics and the cache and having to charge my phone and defrosting my feet because i decided to walk around barefoot ive been here just over 90 mins!
Thanks for the challenge here, it only took me a few years from start to finish

While at a nearby event, I jumped in to a 4wd with Snap Happy and Suss vulture and went on a fun drive around picking up some caches. After looking in circles the cache, the cache was already found. TFTC.

On tour from a nearby camping event, two 4x4 car loads went romping and tried to find a few caches in Lal Lal. We had two DNFs and were very happy that this one was found. We admired the building and went down to see the dam and the remnants of the pumping station, too. Thank you for bringing us here!
was out caching with the other cachers from the camping weekend and we thought we could collect this one. I found this cache first and hid it in my pocket whilst i watched everyone else try and find it. TR, DBelco and I had a bit of a laugh and then finally showed the others the cache and where it was hidden. Thanks for bringing us here to this lovely bit of history.
Have past this way many times pre caching and never realised this was here, lovely piece of history, geoson loved it, find was eventually made, and replaced, thanks for bringing us here, and showing us this place. TFTC
Found during a group attack around Ballarat. Thanks to the Swaggies for bringing me along.
McSee and Petal were searching with myself and the Swaggies. The Petal part of the duo laid her hands on the stash first.

Funny how you look at something and see something different, as our group found here today. Jan found the cache quite quickly, read it as being a dummy and continued looking. We asked her to read it again and came up with the goods for this cache. Our group thanks you.
Thanks Speedy Stamps, for a look at some local history with this placement.
A favourite point here for this placement and what's on the container.

New cache container hidden 28/1/2016. Hopefully it will still be there when you go for a look….
Unfortunately this cache has been vandalised a number of times and it looks like it has been taken again so I'll disable it until I can get up there with a new container.
Nice easy find at a beautiful place! Of course Sean.75 couldn't help himself and had to climb the ladder!! Tftc
When we turned up and read the last three logs were DNFs, our hearts sank. We'd come out of town to avoid DNFs. However, the Moose had a hunch it was still there, and it was just a matter of systematically searching until I came up with the hide. Thanks for the cache and bringing us to this superb old building.
Spent solid 20 minutes looking in every nook and cranny and possible spot. But no joy. Great spot for a cache though, if its still there?
Dog sitting duties this weekend so decided to clear up a few caches that I have been meaning to do for quite some time and let Tess have a few walks in the bush as I slowly creep towards the next milestone. I love travelling these backroads as you never know where you will end up and what you will see. Searched and searched for this one today but too good for me. Thanks for the history Speedy Stamps
Once we worked out if we should be inside, outside or on top, the cache was located quickly. Then there was the task of extracting the cache. It was good to get this one logged, the first for this Australia day. TFTC.
