Find 5253 on September 26, 2024 Found while on a family holiday. Today we left Swan Hill and made our way to Horsham. More great history on our drive today. All is well with the cache. TFTC tigersden
Another interesting road side historical plaque. Accurate coordinates and a familiar style of hide led to a quick find. The cache and contents were in good condition. Thanks tigersden for the cache.
With Featherwaite we're on our way home from Canberra after the GeoBash Mega over Easter. On our way we set our route to take in LGAs that I have no finds in. Day 1 we made it to Wodonga and Day 2 we arrived in Terrick Terrick NP and Day 3 we were home.Unless stated this cache is in good condition.Apologies for the generic log.TFTC
Love a quick find on the side of the rd. Thanks for the pit stop. Kids enjoyed the Chanel Bank.

A nice and quick park and grab.
All in good order, here.
Someone must be taking good care of it with a nice new log.
Glad there was an historical marker sign, otherwise we would have gone sailing past on this monotonous back road.

Found on my way back from the Mega event at Rutherglen over Easter. The original container was missing its lid, and there was no logsheet, so I returned to the car and found a suitable waterproof replacement and new logsheet. All good now for the next finders! Thanks for the cache tigersden!
Easter in Rutherglen. This cache was found on the trip home. Many miles to go.

Day twenty one of our short South Australian trip with BettyBoo3747 and the geo-doggies.
First day traveling home from Tailem Bend to Donald.
Collected a few odd caches on the way.
They certainly don't leave anything of the original building!
The lid of the container has rotted away, but the log was still OK.
Thanks, Robmc.

#19516. Day 21 of our Vic/SA trip with Robmc the geodogs and our bicycles. Sadly, we are making our way home today - from Tailem Bend to Donald. Collected only a few caches on the way in wet and muddy conditions.
Age and weatjer has taken its toll on the container. Lid was brittle and broken but the log was OK to add our names.
Thanks tigersden

Found with fitzy_1965 on an interstate weekend away collecting counties.
Today ended up being a very long day with us travelling from Hamilton to home (Goulburn) ….arriving after midnight. The motel we found was one of the best we have stayed in to date. I’d definitely like to come back again soon. We collected the rest of the counties that we wanted along with more adventure labs and virtuals in some fabulous locations. A much nicer day for travelling and caching today.
Of the caches we tried, they were found quickly and easily. Thanks so much to each and every CO.

28,091. Found with minniek during a caching run down to Ballarat and southwest Victoria in general.
Day 3. After staying overnight at a really lovely and well maintained motel in town, and munching down on Kebabs, Banana and Pineapple Fritters for dinner from Chris's Kebab and Grill, we headed out bright and early to continue our SouthWest Loop picking up some Local Government Areas/Counties as part of our quest to finish all the Victorian ones this year. This was the next cache on our list, and we made a quick find at GZ. Stamped the log, replaced the cache as found, then continued on our way.

After 12 days away camping the trip has unfortunately come to an end. After attending the dawn service in Castlemaine, it was back to camp for a few extra zzzz’s before packing up and heading home. Not before stopping for a few caches of course!
We were done for the day and were on track to make it back to camp just before sunset, or so we thought. Just one more quick driveby OzHockeyChick suggested. Sure thing. As I pulled over I spotted that we could drive right up to GZ. Or so we thought. The 50mm of rain we’d had in the last 36hrs had other ideas and despite the solid looking ground, the GeoRanger sung quickly and was soon sporting some muddy slicks.
Out come the maxtrax and after some digging and wedging the GeoRanger made a return to solid ground. Phew! We managed to find the cache although we will now be returning to camp in the dark. The high pressure hose is sure to get a work out after this adventure!
Thanks tigersden for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to find.

“Just one more” she said.
“It’s a quick p’n’g” she said.
“It’ll only take 2 minutes” she said.
GeoRanger decided to try to get as close as possible to gz, not realising there was quicksand-like terrain between the bitumen and gz.
Twenty minutes later, and now sporting some very muddy maxtrax, GeoRanger is now back on terra firma.
Yes, we managed to sign the log too.
Btw, the lid is cracked. Not sure how long it’ll last.
Thanks for bringing us here today by placing this cache, tigersden … I think lol

TFTC it’s nice getting historical info on these communities. Quick find. Container Is perishing.
Found with my youngest (LukeSistema) as we meandered our way from home (Ballarat) to Lake Albacutya for a weekend of geocaching fun. I love the amazing history you find on the way. Thanks for the cache.
Suscoe headed north west from St Arnaud early this morning on a circular journey that would take us out past Donald and then to the south of Donald visiting caches as we went.
It was a cool but pleasant enough Winter's day.
By the time we got home late this afternoon we had covered 455 kms and we had visited a number of multi caches as well as a good number of traditionals.
We also saw some wonderful sights and amazing countryside.
Thanks tigersden for this hide.
We were surprised that the log was sort of dry given the damaged lid and the water round and about along the roads.
As has been mentioned this cache needs some TLC.

Working our way north towards the Murray Sunset we just had to visit the fantastic SiloArt along our route....not to mention a few detours to grab the caches far and wide.
Enjoying the back country roads we zig zagged here from the last cache to find this historic marker listening to our country and western on Spotify all the way.
Thanks tigersden for the placement.

St Arnaud weekend and I just had to be there because it is always such a cool and quality [^] weekend!
46 caches found and 4 events attended made for an awesome 3 day trip away and since there was a new cache trail at St Arnaud, well we all know that the caches were amazing, as always![^][^]
There were a few SA geocachers that I hadn't seen for ages and so it was lovely to catch up and cache with them [^]
Although the end of the trip involved an unexpected detour home through Horsham in case Rex, who had decided that a bloody large wriggly stick seemed like a fun toy to play with, required emergency vet work after he tried to touch noses with the big brown that was up and striking at him!
Thankfully Rex didn't need vet assistance [^] and he now seems to have a healthy fear of snakes (he even jumped away from a plastic crocodile head cache near Horsham[^]) and is much more aware in the bush (even better because the following weekend he found another big brown wriggly stick at the lake in the caravan park we live in and jumped away from it[^] )
If nothing else the drive to Horsham gave me a chance to find a cache that has always been in a flooded or wet area previously and inaccessible so that find was a bonus
Then it was a very late night [|)] trip back home via St Arnaud again to pick up a cache container that a friend had forgotten to pick up for another geocacher
As I have been about 8 months behind in logging, I'm resorting to template logs to catch up.
My heartfelt thanks to the COs who have placed some tricky, funny, exercise required, scary, interesting and devious caches in some amazing spots! [^]
Rex and I have had some amazing adventures and enjoyed some incredible moments thanks to this fantastic hobby

After staying in Horsham for the night and heading back to St Arnuad, via a breakfast event in Donald. Out with Happy pants, grabbing some different hides, that we hadn't already found, as we meandered through some of the back roads. We made some great discoveries, clever hides and generally enjoyed the caches we found, which took us to some interesting places, that I wouldn't probably see if it wasn't for caching.. We enjoyed some fun and laughs along the way.
An interesting old church to visit and a quick find to boot, while passing through.
Thanks tigersden for placing the cache for us to find and doing the maintenance to keep it in play.

I travelled with hevwalker to St Arnaud, for caching and events. Today was the day to head back to SA but not before stopping every so often to find a cache or 10.
This mornings stop was at Donald for the brekky event and some caching afterwards.
Now we have left Donald and have resumed our travels towards SA. this was a quick roadside stop and once again met up with locus cache at this hide.

What a great 'long' weekend travelling to St Arnaud from Adelaide for the wonderful annual festivities. I cached with many awesome cachers including Feathertop, micaparamedic, Locus Cache, Muzza, Sharkie Fan, BushFire and of course TheDame. I also socialised with many others.....gosh I love Victoria!
Thanks so much for the cache tigersden! [^]

Heading home after a few days around North West Victoria, the trip would not be the same without a detour or two, adding a couple of smiley tokens to our geo-map.
Like others we crossed the large ditch (ex water channel). Glad the open channels have been replaced, otherwise we might not have been able to reach this one.
Thanks tigersden for placing caches for everyone's enjoyment.

Easy to find once I’d negotiated the ditch! It’s a lonely place now but I’m sure that there was plenty of bustle around in its day, especially on Sundays.
Nice easy cache, took the time while we were stopped to fix the ropes on the kayak from flapping. TFTC
We are on a day's outing from Warracknebeal where we are camped on our way to Alice Springs for the Event over Easter. Pa beat me to this cache and log was soon signed and returned to its hidey hole. TFTC SL
On our way from Horsham today to Donald and beyond and took the opportunity to grab a few caches while we were about. We pulled up beside the old church site and it was left to me to brave the long dry grass on a hot day but fortunately I only found the cache container and nothing else. Thanks tigersden for the hide.
Decided to head out for a Sunday afternoon caching seeing as it's a leap year this year to pick up some extra caches to add to our collection tftc nice quick find
Our fourth caching stop as we headed across to Bendigo. A quick find and sign and stretch of the legs, then on we went.

Another quick stop and leg stretch. The thing about caching is it seems like you've just got back in the car from the previous cache when you're hopping out and looking for the next one.

This was our first find for the day. It was a bit windy out this way this morning. A nice quick easy find before we headed back to Donald to do some geo. hunting around this area. Driven past here many times but never stopped to look for a cache. TFTC. SL. Found some of the log-book on the ground several metres away. Put it all back together in the cache. Cheers.

I spent the day traveling the western part of the state finding caches to help complete a challenge and this was one of them. A nice quick drive-by in the heat of the afternoon. I always find these historical sites to be quite interesting. Thanks tigersden.
Guess who slipped down the old waterway drain! Felt better after finding the cache, thanks.
I searched this one out on the way home from work ( short detour). Easy find. Thanks.
well i set out tonight to find a couple of caches, leaving home (st arnaud) at 8:30pm, yes very late to be heading out, and after getting home at 1:15am with 15 finds in hand and after being questioned by the police to see what i was up to, it was quite a long night, nice hide, tftc

Decided to check for any caches on our way to the Wimmera Field Days...found this one quite easily and was a good excuse to stretch the legs. Didnt sign the logbook...didnt have my glasses with me and it is quite small. Nice spot for a church...wonder how many people used to meet together there each Sunday, and how far they used to come from?
