Pokey and I wanted to take a vacation and do some caching. We were picking up counties and whatever else caught our eye. This is one of our main targets for the trip. Pokey needs this month for her Jasmer and I need it for my second. Thanks to all the CO's that placed the caches to help make our fun trip.

Very nice area for a cache. Probably explains why this one has been here so long. Thanks!
Whoop Whoop this completes my first Jasmer! Thanks for placing so I could find! Here with kcleave on an epic trip.
I had the privilege of finding this cache with Hello-pittie today as it will complete her first Jasmer. Lovely walk to cache. Thanks for keeping this older one alive.
I've had this on my list for a while. We've tried to make it out here a couple times before, but schedules just didn't line up. I also want to get Marooned while we were here, but our trip got flipped around and we missed the deadline by a few days. I can get that date in another place, like Oregon.
We had a pretty walk through the woods, and enjoyed the beach.

Visited this geo with Megster66 so she could get her Smiley... I had found previously.
A cool find in an even cooler park. Love the clever container. Thanks for the little adventure!

At this time, I would like to extend my heart-felt gratitude to each and every CO who takes the time to place and maintain these caches. If it were not for your efforts, Geocaching would not be possible. Thanks.
This hide is in good condition, but no trackables were there.
I signed the log sheet as 'panda' and wrote today's date.
Milestone find!
Right now... (October 31st, 2020), I have 5000 finds, and #22 so far for the day. I am in Georgia today.

Brought Teri over while an hour or so away. She did need this date for her Jasmer.
Jonjon and I are on our way for me to grab my 10000th find. We thought since we were this close I needed to grab this one for my jasmer.... thanks for keeping this one alive and getting me one more cache closer.
TFTF!!! RTR from Tuscaloosa. Several trees down on the path because of Zeta tropical storm
This one has been a long time coming. We first attempted to fill the August 2000 Jasmer square (the only one we had left) two years ago on a trip to Utah. But an early season snow kept us from reaching Potters Pond. Since then we decided to try for this one, since we also had friends in the area we could visit. Finally today (after the remains of Hurricane Zeta passed by overnight, leaving lots of trees down) we were able to get to this one and make the quick find. Very few people on the trail today, but they were all quite friendly. What a feeling to finally have the Jasmer Challenge complete (well, for a couple more days, anyway). A fav point from us for keeping this old one alive, and in such a nice area. TFTH.
Santagrandpa and Santagrandma are ecstatic to find and log this geocache. We are traveling from Maine to Florida and planned our trip around 3 special, old caches to complete our Jasmer chart. YEAH, triple YEAH, we did it. Only one TB in the cache and we traded it from one of ours. A special THANK YOU to the CO for maintaining the cache for so many, many years. A favorite point is added to the collection and thank you again.
More later. Thanks!
When TTO2 mentioned a road trip to to Georgia to claim Marooned I jumped at the chance. Taking a look at the map I saw that this provided an opportunity to grab a quite a number of state’s oldists so I laid out an ambitious route.
The first waypoint was Wild Azalea in Louisiana. Finding closest parking to that one is a challenge but I found a spot pretty close and made the short hike to this oldie. The next cache on the list was Bonita Lakes in Mississippi. We got up early and, despite a jumpy GPS snagged this one as the sun was rising. We then drove to Alabama to find Trussville Civitan which, since it is in a fairly busy park was fairly well hidden. We then made a beeline to Georgia to meet up with our gracious local hosts for a boat ride out to Marooned. The next morning began early with a quick trip to Lake Lanier and Beaver Cache before heading to Stone Mountain for some strenuous hiking up and down the trails to claim Tour of Stone Mountain among a slew of other juicy finds. That left just enough time to drive to South Carolina to take the (chigger infested) hike to Modoc Stash before driving up to the hotel in Charlotte, NC. We solved to puzzle and signed the Jasmer loop #2 closing cache Octopus Garden first thing in the morning before heading toward Clemson for some webcams. There were also a number of other finds sprinkled in the between the headliners and we ended up with a over 50+ finds 2700 miles and of driving for the entire adventure.
Thanks to all the cache owners for keeping these oldies going all these years for us to find!

Fun day at Lake Lanier! We are new at geocaching and were so happy to discover there was a geocache at this location. We had been swimming and fishing at this location for a while. Great to have a new adventure at this park. Me and my kids thought the geocache was super cool! 20 years old, wow!!
Out on a caching adventure today with Tagging Along, the Buzzard Whisperers and Twinkle Kit Kat. We are out on a beautiful morning for cashing so we are enjoying ourselves and making some finds thank you so much for hiding these for us to find

Cache hunting Georgia’s oldest caches this week with BuzzardWhisperer and met up with Taginalong and BrierPatch yesterday to get the last four. This is quite a rare cache month so I feel very fortunate to have the opportunity to find it. We took a really nice walk along a beautiful trail to this gem. Once close we probably went the hard way but ultimately it wasn’t difficult to find. [^] Thanks for creating this cache so long ago and thanks to everyone since who has had a hand in maintaining it for the rest of us. 5495~16:18
After a trip from Southeast Georgia to Atlanta I am looking for some special caches to qualify for some other caches in the Retired Monkey challenge trail down south of Orlando next week. This was one of the special caches. Thank you for placing and maintaining it. I left one of my Cumberland island, Georgia, pathtags in the container. A very nice stroll and I am giving it a well deserved favorite point.
DC57 and I found this fine old August 2000 geocache today on our quest for our triple Jasmer. We only have a Sept 2000 cache left which we hope to get tomorrow in North Carolina. We added a couple log sheets to the other log sheets that were full. Thanks for maintaining this rare old cache. TFTH
We were distracted by a side trail but using the main trail until close to GZ works better. Thanks for maintaining this old cache. It was a beautiful and quiet day on the lake.
Geocache #3,687
Our first Georgia cache!
We found this rare oldie on a cool, breezy evening while on a road trip from Iowa to Florida and back. This one was a bit out of our way but it was well worth it! Great cache in a beautiful area with nice trails, and a very rare Jasmer Challenge date filler. Would love to come back someday to attempt the island caches in this area.

#3041. My second target of the day. After finding Marooned and a few other paddle-to caches, I had to come over here to get this cache as I need it for the Jasmer like so many cachers before me. Had a nice hike and then arrived at GZ. Found the cache shortly afterwards. Nice to see this that this historic cache is maintained. SL and returned as found. TFTC.
Missed the geotrail going in, but took it on the way out. Easy hike and DrPowercat completes his Jasmer here. 1 more for me.

FINALLY!!!!
Eleven years after starting this hobby, I finally have a full Jasmer!!
It was getting kind of embarrassing. 40x Fizzy done, but that empty August 2000 square kept staring at me like a buck toothed grin.
Two weeks ago, I told kcsmiths I had four days and I was driving from KC to Georgia or Utah. He needed a few more down here, so Georgia was the choice.
Beautiful day for a short scenic stroll. Thanks for keeping this one alive for 20 years.

Lovely Corp of Engineers park area up against the lake...glad we didn’t need to walk through the groves of poison ivy vines that line much of the trail! Loved the soft pine needle covered sand trails in the area , and so happy to find this well done cache. Thanks for keeping this one going!
As others have said, it’s an excellent container and well preserved. Needs a replacement (or additional) log sheet. Thanks for keeping up such excellent oldies

Hi from SE PA. In GA visiting family in Kennesaw, but we had to take a day away from them to spend time at Lake Lanier to fill in some Jasmer and Fizzy spots. Thanks for maintaining. TNLNSL. Tftc.
We spent the day on the lake for the sole purpose of finding GC20 and GC21 and as many other as we can find today. We signed most logs as LLCrew which included myself, BackWoodsAng, antbedy, and Ol" Fogie. We spent about 10 hours on the lake and found 15ish caches. Thanks to all the CO's for placing and maintaining these caches for our enjoyment. TNLNSL! TFTC!
I don't know if antbedy patiently waited for us to catch up but she did wait for us. This was a great hide, find, and cool container. This is one of the reasons we came down here this week!

This was one of the hides we made this trip to find. It and the other nearby oldie have resided on my “Need to find for Jasmer” list for ages. When BWA said earlier this year that he and Ol’ Fogie were considering a camping/boating/caching trip to Lake Lanier, I immediately said, “SIGN ME UP!” We are having the time of our lives, enjoying our little COVID-19 vacay. This was definitely a highlight of the trip. We beached Bambi the geoship and made our way into the woods in search of this oldie. BWA was disappointed to hear that the hint said it was not an ammo can, but we all agreed this was a pretty epic container despite that. I can only imagine what it looked like when hidden 20 years ago. I was the lucky one to spot this one first, and patiently waited for the rest of them to catch up before cracking it open. Thanks for keeping this one alive for us to find. Favorite point engaged!
What a great location and view! Thanks for keeping this one around for so long. And yes, it's not just another ammo can in the woods.
On my long roadtrip from TX to NY and back, I only had a few caches on my list that are not virtuals, webcams, or earthcaches. This was one of them, obviously. Neat container. I took the hard way in and the easy way out. Thanks for the very old cache.
A beautiful day for a walk down the trail. No replacement log, but managed to put ink to paper. Next finder should be sure to bring a pen, the one in the cache has started to leak ink. All is well, TFTC.
#3 of 4 today on Day 8 of The Great American Road Trip where I move from New York to California! I am thrilled to have now gotten THE hardest month for Jasmer! And to my surprise it was actually a clever hide! TFTC!
I was able add my name to long list who have found this before me. I will say the logs are full and I had no paper with me. Tftc.
I am headed to the Florida panhandle to stay with my sister. I left Fayetteville yesterday and am collecting old caches, finding different types of caches and connecting counties.
The last time I went through Georgia two weeks ago I had to pass by this one due to the rain. I can deal with heat and humidity so I made the short hike to this cache. It fills a hole in my Jasmer grid leaving only July and November 2000 to find.
This is a beautiful area. TFTC

I have long wanted to get GC20 & GC21. The opportunity came today when Called2Care & I teamed up with GuamME to visit Lake Lanier, and kayak to some of the nearby island caches, including Marooned.
First cache of the day, and Called2Care got stung by a yellow jacket on the trail. We hobbled to the cache to make the find. Very nice hide, and awesome to get one step closer to completing the Jasmer Challenge.
Thanks for hiding this cache, Allen_L.

First cache from the original year! ?? Good to be caching with Super_Nate and Called2Care again!
Found with Super_Nate & GuamME on an eventful trip to Lake Lanier. Didn't start out very well after getting stung by a yellow jacket. But I made it. Enjoyed visiting all the old caches.
I'm on vacation, an 8-day trip through Ohio, Kentucky, Tennessee, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania. The lake was quite busy, but I was able to have a nice hike to GZ and make the find when something didn't look quite right. Great work on this one. Very impressive. Thanks for the adventure.
My plan for today was to attend the: GGA's Rockin' 19th Birthday Celebration event. I also wanted to seek all of the caches in the area that had the word "Red, White or Blue" in the cache name. I found 9 of those on my trek today. The GGA is currently promoting finding caches with the colors of our Nation during the month of its birth. Lastly, I wanted to seek the cache: Lake Lanier, as I needed it to fill a Jasmer block that was empty. I was successful on all of my goals today.
This was the last cache of the day. I almost didn't get to seek this one as the park was full when I arrived and they weren't letting more people in. But I had to pull over and figure out what to do next. Then a few cars left and the attendants let a couple more in. Sweet!
I was only in the park about 15 minute and made the find with no difficulties. Too bad there wasn't one of those nice little placards that are usually with these super old caches. Thanks for keeping this one going. Filled a blank Jasmer block for me.
The cache page currently has a lot of TBs listed in the cache. When I was there in the afternoon, there were no TBs in the cache. TNLN TFTC

Nice hide. Put back better then we found it , it's inside parts were showing when we got to GC. Got a little lost on the way back to the car. Got help by a man on a one wheeler. Have not seen one of these before
So happy to find this OLD cache. Enjoyed the walk to ground zero and liked the unique container as well. Thank you Allen of the Lacy Family.
Woo! Finally got it! Nice little cache just off the trail. Logs are full so I recommend bringing one to add to the cache. Going out in the lane to get marooned tomorrow and finishing the jasmer on my way back to Florida!
Out adventuring with rcapbrain and Scout dog today! Nice and easy grab! Thanks so much!
Found today on our trip through northern Georgia. Feels great to grab another year 2000 cache. Thanks for keeping this old grand daddy cache going. ??
another one that I've been eyeing up for ages. with this cache my Jasmer is complete excluding the May 2000 spot, which I'm hoping to do for find 1111 later this summer - the whole time we were signing in I felt this massive feeling of everything being larger than me as this challenge has taken me everywhere and back. had fun listening to jevoke come up with the "this cache rocks!" line and then enthusiastically log it - this cache does rock. thank you for maintaining this for so long; it felt like the sum total of all things
I came down into this area with BlindReff to grab 3 caches... [Beaver Cache (the beavers have moved on)](https://coord.info/GC1D), [Lake Lanier](https://coord.info/GC21) and [Marooned](https://coord.info/GC20). We found Beaver yesterday so today our target was the other 2. Finding these 2 caches would complete our Jasmer Challenge (except for the current month). After we completed these 3 caches, we grabbed a few other caches in this area and then along our route north to Newberry, SC for our next adventure.
Finding this cache completed the Jasmer Challenge for both BlindReff and myself. Later in the day we managed to find the July cache that brought us current on the challenge.
We found this cache around **11:50:16 AM** and it was **1 of the 39** caches I recorded as found today.
Thank you **Allen_L** for placing this cache.

After arriving at GZ we was meet by a couple of parking attendance and they waved us on in. We was lucky as they closed the parking lot shortly after we arrived. Logging this cache completed the Jasmer grid for the year 2000. I have now filled all grids up to the current month.
The Trifecta of geocaching as we found these three oldies in one trip.
GC1D - Beaver Cache the beavers have moved on
GC20 – Marooned
GC21 – Lake Lanier
With these three finds we both completed our grid for the year 2000.
We tried to help the CO and future cachers by doing some basic maintenance like replacing soggy/full log sheets with new ones.
Thanks **Allen_L** for placing and maintaining this cache for me to enjoy.

Great day. Got an old cache in Charlotte for Jasmer and then found this for Jasmer. Great wAlk with the pups and only 5 months to go.
Working on finishing my Jasmer this summer. This is the last older cache that I needed! Following our phones we walked right by the cache lol. Very cool container. Left my Going Caching card and pathtag, took a pathtag. It was such a beautiful morning we decided to walk the loop and explore a few side trails. Fav. pt. given. Thanks for placing and keeping it going!
We're on a big road trip this week with the goal of finishing the last fives months on our Jasmer grid. This was the second new month we needed to get today. It was a lovely walk on the trail this morning and we had the trail to ourselves. We found the cache very quickly once we were nearby. Love the container here! It and the log are both in great shape. Thanks for keeping such an old one active! Happy to have found a cache from August 2000!
Found with drpeterson3 just after sunset. It was fun doing the loop around GZ. August filled and tomorrow June and July!
3rd August 2000 for me! Out with TheBrecks caching on our last day in Georgia. Sl, thanks!
Traveling from Colorado Springs east bound toward Lake Lanier in Georgia. Making plenty of stops along the way. Today Yama Gypsy and I traveled from Stone Mountain, Georgia to Lake Lanier to find some high terrain caches. Captain John was our boat captain and did an awesome job of getting us to the best locations. Ended up with 6 caches out in the lake then headed over to find a rare hidden date at Lake Lanier. Then we moseyed around the area getting some virtuals and some of the Jackson County Heritage Trail. Also completed a couple of Adventure Labs. Overall a great day of caching. Thanks for placing this cache for us to find today. No problems here. Great little walk over to this oldie.
Come down from WV with Coolhipwithit from Ohio. She wanted to do this one for jasmer challenge. The phone jumped around a tad but we spotted it! Thanks for a old cache! TFTC! TNLN SL [8d]

Visiting from Cleveland, Ohio with 3 of my kids. I’m hoping to fill in 4 of the last 5 squares needed on my Jasmer grid on this trip.
Whenever we are out in nature we are always on the hunt for reptiles and amphibians, especially if my son is here. We hit the jackpot on this hike! A 3-4 foot rat snake was just sitting there stretched out right in front of us about 15 feet from GZ!!! Mr. Snake was not happy when my son grabbed him. He moved quickly and got away though before my son could get a safe hold on him. We also found a scorpion close to GZ! Exciting hike!!!
After we found the cache we hiked on some of the other trails and then relaxed on the dam swings. Absolutely beautiful afternoon at Lake Lanier!!!
Thanks for the cache and helping me fill another square on my Jasmer grid!!!

After Chicago, Atlanta was my next stop for DB Schenker in America. After the work was done, our common hobby was of course followed a bit.
This was the first find of a 2 1/2 day, 22 cache, geocaching adventure. The goal was old caches in/near Georgia to fill some holes in my Jasmer grid. Since August of 2000 caches are the least plentiful, this cache was my first priority.
I made my way to the GZ with no problems where I was surprised to find such a unique container. Definite favorite point.
