Out and about caching here around the South Island in our travels from Australia. Arrived at GZ and searched. cache found and log signed. TFTC
Travelling from Cromwell to Ashburton today and collecting a few caches and ALs along the way. Saw some amazing scenery and ventured along some great roads. Thanks to the COs for placing the caches for us to find.
Found with Gummi_Venus. A nice place to stop and admire the view. It was a bit cloudy but we think we could make out the ocean in the distance.
Found with ObnoxiousSpaceCat, quick find and nice place to stop on our way south.
Dieser Cache konnte heute leider nicht erfolgreich geloggt werden.Danke an den owner fr's legen und pflegen TFTC Schmerzbefreit
Fantastic view from here. I could not quite see the sea today but what a magnificent vista anyway on a little road trip around central South Island. TFTC.
Now I know the NZ meaning of toi toi. In other parts of the world it means a small cabin toilet.
Decided to stop and find this for a quick stretch. Found with help of the hint. Cache is all good here. TFTC
Passing through and decided to stop for this cache and pay our respects to those from this district who paid the ultimate price during WWII. TFTC
Day 2 on our holiday in New Zealand. On the way from Christchurch to Twizel, we also visited this traditional cache, searched the box, found it, and signed the logbook.

Stopped at the memorial with rebel98. Once I got the right corner a quick find. Thanks for the hide
A nice quick find, great view down to the coast from here. A good excuse to stop and give the milk tanker ahead of us some space before we catch up again. TFTC
It's Queens Birthday weekend This is quite a busy road! Had a few old old cars drive past while we were trying to be incognito about what we were doing! Tftc
Road trip from Rotorua North Island. Another South island cache found on the way back up North.

We were heading to Mt Cook for a wee break and of course were caching throughout the area.
We had an awesome time with some brilliant weather apart from only one day where it didn't play ball. Great to see so many awesome caches throughout the area.
Grabbed on the way back to Methven in the rain. Quick park and dash across the road

Apologies for the cut and paste logs for these few. Out and about on a stunning day getting lots of smileys in the wonderful back roads of the Geraldine area. Lytteltonwitch and I had no problems with these caches, most being quick and easy finds. The views from here were so great. TFThides C.owners
Great views and quickly found the cache. On a geocaching trip with Busypaws. Took lots of photos here
A quick find on a road that is hetting busy with Easter traffic. The cattle were lowing too! Tjanks for the hide. It's good to stop and remember those who sacrificed their lives for us.

Loved the view from this spot. It is years since I have been in this part of the country, and I didn't know about Geocaching then. Now we get to stop in places we would have driven past before. Found the cache quite quickly, but note that the bush is not toitoi. It might be of the red hot poker family. Thanks for causing us to stop here.
A lovely view for this memorial. Managed to park and walk back to this re all the road works. Thanks for getting us to stop and see this and the cache Bitsprayer.
Spending a few weeks roaming around the South Island in the camper finishing the TMGT caches and picking up any others that were nearby. haven't brought our bikes this trip so not doing any long trails or back country hiking. Now on our way up to Ashburton. Mr S found this one but searched a few hints before finding the correct one.
Thanks Bitsprayer. Smilie total is gradually climbing.

Furthermore I thank you for hiding the many great caches!
Of course I will leave a favo to each cache where the original account did it. If I forget a cache, you are welcome to write to me.

Day 17, the penultimate day of my 2020 NZE (New Zealand Experience).
(My apologies for the delayed logging but I'm still in catch-up mode)
Seeing as I can't be in America right now, I'm touring around the South Island instead. During my time here I am aiming to find as many of the TMGT caches as I can (preferably all 41) and also as many Virtuals, Earthcaches and Letterbox Hybrids as possible, plus any Trads or others that will fill a hole in my D/T grid, my Jasmer grid, or else the last 3 remaining Hidden Dates on that grid.
Yesterday I had finished up in Tekapo, only to discover that Freedom Camping was so frowned upon (even if you are in a certified self-contained camper) that there is a blanket ban in place across the main township. That forced me to think outside the box, and I ended up parked up on a nearby rural road with a fantastic view of the stars above me. Suffice to say that my rest was fantastic and so I set off on my last full day of touring with a spring in my step, expecting to be back in Chch this evening.
I love driving the roads around here, especially right now as they are generally free of tourists, and so I was happy to break up my journey by pulling over every so often to try for a cache, such as this one.
There was virtually no-one around this early on a Sunday so I was able to park up close by to GZ and then conduct my search in relative peace. I had no trouble finding the cache, and there were no issues with it so the log was duly signed and the whole lot replaced as found before returning to the campervan and carrying on.
Thanks for placing this cache.

Found with StreetWalkerNZ en route to Fairlie from Christchurch on a lovely late winters day.
We have driven past this cache before, on a trip nearly 3 years ago, but had to limit our stops as we were heading for Cromwell. Today, with a shorter distance to travel, we made sure to stop today. And it was perfect weather to admire the great views from GZ.
The cache didn't take long to find - in the second place we looked. Thanks for making me stop here and TFTC.

Quick find, second option. Found some safe parking a short walk down the road. TFTC.
Second full day of a 10 day road trip for RG1972 and I to get to Te Anau, attempt a half marathon, and get safely back to Nelson/Marlborough. Today was Chch to Wanaka, so we hand picked a few park and grabs in between food and shopping stops. 20 plus for the day and all in good shape. Thanks all COs and sorry for the cut and paste bit.

It always shocks and saddens me how many Kiwis have died fighting in the various wars! TFTC

On an adventure towards Hokitika wildfood festival. Cacheing on the way. Thanks to all cache keepers.
I started my great and unique round trip over the South Island in Christchurch.
My first major stopover was at Lake Tapeko - here I hiked up to Observation Mountain.
I then planned two days in Mount Cook NP with some unforgettable hikes. My big goal was the Mueller Hut - on a super strenuous hike I reached it.
I continued my journey over the lonely Danseys Pass to Dunedin.
Afterwards I drove along the Southern Scienic Route via Invercargill to Manapouri for some days. On this route I visited many sights and enjoyed the beautiful nature again and again.
I already booked a tour to the Doubtful Sound in advance - another highlight on my tour.
Afterwards I drove on to Queensown and Wanaka. From there I continued over the Haast Pass to the lonely Jackson Bay with storm and heavy rain. Afterwards I drove along the west coast always in pouring rain.
The rain stopped the whole west coast, but I had good rainwear with me. Only high up in Nelson the sun shone again.
Soon I reached the east coast again in Picton and Blenheim and the sun was shining again.
After a few days I travelled back to Christchurch via the beautiful town of Kaikoura.
At the end of my round trip I spent a few more days in Christchurch and its surroundings.
I visited many geological sites and found many caches on my round trip. In Rangiora I visited an event.
I travelled 3418 km and take home a lot of positive experiences.
Thanks to many beautiful caches I was also shown unique locations, historical sites and geological features.
I am overwhelmed by the fantastic and ever changing nature on the South Island of New Zealand - I will definitely come back.
Many thanks to all owners
