Hi kiwi-springbok
This geocache was brought to my attention as being in need of an owner maintenance. The cache owner needs to check on this cache ASAP and either replace it or archive it, after picking up any geo-litter. See the [maintenance section of the Geocache Listing Requirements/Guidelines](http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx#listingmaintenance).
I've added this cache to my watchlist, and I will check back in four weeks to be sure that the maintenance has been done. In the meantime, I have temporarily disabled this listing. When the maintenance is completed, the owner can enable the listing by clicking on the link below the cache name to return it to active status.
Whatever your intentions, please **post a note** here on the cache page (not email) to let us know that you are still active and maintaining the cache. If a month passes without seeing a response, then I'll assume that this listing should be archived.
Please note, that if a cache is archived due to lack of owner maintenance, the cache is unable to be unarchived.
Regards

This cache has had only DNFs for the last 2 years.
The CO has also confirmed it's not there and asked to archive (but has erroneously logged it as a maintenance note).
I think it's time to archive.

We had a good hunt, swinging on the girders to peer into places up high. But like those before us we could not find it. We suspect it was knocked down into the stream and has disappeared.
DNF
Had a real good look, and there were 3 of us, 2 of whom taller than average. No luck.
Suspect that it may have gone?

Was in the area and remembered our dnf last time. Bought a replacement container, hopefully its in the right place!
A bit easier to see if ypu are crossing from the Little River end of the bridge. The cache had a bit of water that I drained out.

After visiting the little town Little River, we drove back to our campground and passed this cache. There was space next to the road to place the campervan and I went down to the little river and found the cache. No sign of grandad or his troll.
But thanks for placing this cache!

Last cache for today after an amazing day running around Toby roads at Banks Peninsula. We trolled this bridge to sang and tag this one. Cheers. Now time for some much needed ZZZZZ. Good Night.
Its Saturday - day three - Little River - Akaroa today. Lets go exploring.
Its Waitangi Day - day one of a five day weekend exploring the amazing Canterbury, with The Seagnoid, Zara, Toby, Jack and Jill. Two days Rangiora, a day in Lyttleton and 2 days in Banks Peninsula. I got call from The Seagnoid, hes taking a long weekend. Lets go to the West Coast! Lets Go!! but maybe not the West Coast - rain on the way. So lets go to Canterbury. We leave for Christchurch Tuesday evening after picking up The Seagnoid after work. We make camp for the night at Amberly. Today its off to Rangiora for a cycle trip.

Last cache for the day, came back this way after touring the ridge, on our way back to Little River for a sleep. Yeah, this is a better than the average bridge hide. Much better. Well Done!
Down to Christchurch with Taybeedragon, Zara and Toby for a five day weekend starting Waitangi Day (which this year fell on a Wednesday. I reckon half the country would have been taking 5 day weekends!). A couple of days in Rangiora. We did two cycle trails there - having two vehicles makes it so easy. One of those cycle trails was fifty caches. Fifty caches in one day on a bicycle! Then a day in Lyttelton and couple of days exploring the back roads around Akaroa. Darn close to two hundred caches in all. Dropped off a lot of path tags along the way, especially if the cache was nice and dry

Cycled up to the Bossu Road from Little River and then over to Lands Road and back via Reynolds Valley on a very hot day.... This cache was quite near to the junction back to Okuti Valley. Straightforward find. Many thanks.
Thank you for this cache which was found without too much trouble. This was our first visit to this area and we enjoyed the drive.
We didn't see Grandad or the troll, but we did find the cache! Tricky hide! We had to use a stick to retrieve and replace. Cache is in good condition, tftc!
Container made me laugh after seeing Akaroa yesterday and the French influence
Nice sized container.
All dry and good. I agree to previous finders, giant troll. But sticks help to get it out and even back to its hiding place

#15587. This one proved tricky to locate (despite it being a 2L container; it's black colour helped to camouflage it). After lots of peering, a grabbed a stick to do some poking, first on one side then the other. We were on the verge of giving up, when the stick hit something that made a promising sound. Probably a good idea to do this one first up while we were fresh. TFTC.
The weather forecast for Sunday was good so StreetWalker and I planned a day exploring the scenic southern route from Little River to Wainui.
After an excellent coffee and muffin at Little River, this was our first caching stop on a short detour. It was hard to see and, with my height disadvantage, I wasn't much use in the search. A car crossed the bridge while we were searching which was a bit scary!
After several minutes of going back and forth, SW managed to winkle the cache out of its hiding place, using a stick to extend his reach. A cache for giants, I think. TFTC.

I dropped our daughter off at work in Wainui this morning and took the opportunity to grab a few caches in the hills above. Actually that was 22 caches, 5 cache types, in 5 hours. At the end of it the only dry item of clothing I was wearing was my woolly hat (inside the hood of my jacket). I stopped at Little River for a pie and a hot chocolate, after getting dry and changing my clothes!
Given the size it was doing a good job of hiding. In the end I spotted a little something and with a bit of a stretch I had the cache in hand. Not sure who Jayden is, the name in the log doesn't seem to match any online logs. It looks like the previous log book logs are missing as the front pages have been ripped out of the book.

We weren't expecting to find this cache after the previous DNF's, but surprisingly we did. It was certainly in an unnecessarily hard to reach position. The cache we found was a 2 litre ice cream container, labelled with the cache name, but with only one log entry, Jayden on 12th August? TFTC
First cache search today as we were leaving the campground and it turned into a DNF. I feel that I searched in the right place but there was nothing to find. I suspect the troll has oved on to another location and needs a replacement. - Zeke & George of Hot Springs, Arkansas, USA
We had the height, but searched and searched and sadly did not find anything. Found lots of places a cache would happily be living, but nothing. We'll come back again though.
It's a day for the vertically challenged!! Found with a tall Wurzel1947. Good hide. TFTC
A stop to scare out the troll from the bridge. Took a little longer to locate than I would have hoped though. Managed to spot eventually but needed to stretch a tad to retrieve. Just about to leave when a local pulled up as I was returning cache and Chelzea nearer the road. Decided to come clean when asked if we were okay!! and explained Geocaching which see did seem genuinely interested in. Gave her the address to Geocaching.com will have to see if we get a convert.
Made the trip out this way to knock a few off. Found withouttoo much bother. TFTC.
Short scramble then soon spotted and retrieved . First time up this valley. Thanks
Found with quinella . Was seen before we started looking so tucked it away a bit better. Tftc
The fifth cache on a mini road trip on the peninsula. I teamed up with BBear44. I had to be careful where I parked so the car wouldn't get stuck in the mud. There has been so much rain lately.
Who's that tripping on my bridge. Very boggy all around the area, was harder to find a place to park than the cache itself. Cool area.
After arrving yesterday, this was our first NZ Cache. Thanks for showing us the llittle sheeps.

Spotted pretty quickly by Geo mum. Dropped TB. Thanks for bringing us up here. TFTC!
Just going home after an impromptu date with Mrs TheWanglers at the lovely Little River Gallery (love that place). Mrs TheWanglers have only ever been up this stretch of road once about 10 years ago checking out the camp ground. It was nice to visit again. Parking was a breeze and I headed off to GZ. Took a few photos. It was nice to see the sun out. A bit of snow still about on the tops. I figured it being a bridge and then went to find the troll. I love it how a 'fortuitous' rock was utitlised to grab the cache. The cache was wet but the log was still dry. I see a lot of water dripping from all the water laying about. No TB. I headed back to the truck and we went up the road to explore some more. We'll definitely be back in the warmer months. This one ticks a 'date placed' box for me too. Yay.
Thanks for the cache.

Was a bit worried about not being able to reach this after reading the notes.. however at 5ft3 i managed - Slightly wounded after this one though as a piece of steel gashed the back of the leg as i walked towards the GZ - note to self to add bandaid to cache kit
nice little creek
No TB picked up as it was no longer there

Found it but as I hadn't made a user-name yet I signed in as smudge123 before realising that it had already been taken
Nice little babbling brook. Reminded me of a similar cache that I had visited a year or so ago that was not easy for those as vertically challenged as me.
Nice stream and spot for a cache while on a motorbike ride. Took a few photos of the bridge and stream. Thanks
Troll sized people might find this a bit harder
Thank you for placing this cache.

The kids recalled the 3 Billy Goats story and knew where to look. Luckily no troll in residence today.
did some cache drying.

It has been a long time since I have been up that road.
Found with my mate Richard from Aussie, this was his first find.
Thanks for a great cache in a cool place.
Cheers,

Heading up and over to Tumbledown bay for a family picnic. Quick find in a grand wee spot. Thanks.
Another great little valley to drive up. There were still wet footprints from the previous cachers on the rock today! TB is long gone from here.
With the opportunity to get away for a day and a half, I decided on a caching expedition to Akaroa and the surounding hills. This was 12 of 39 finds. Approached from the wrong side but rock hopped across dry. TFTC.
Spent a wonderful day circumnavigating this southern side of the harbour - a very cold but thankfully only some drizzle and mostly good visibility for those so spectacular views!
This was the lucky last find for a most enjoyable day's caching and sight seeing. Thanks to the height blessed hubby it was an easy find. And thanks very much for the hunt kiwi-springbok and greetings from Mandurah Western Australia.

Clever hide and good instructions, and a lovely location. Visited with a relative who is about to become a new GC'er!
TFTC. It is nice to have a reason to stop at these little gems of the New Zealand country side. A bit of a stretch required from the Cornish Tin Miner.
Karma Reprint managed to get in front and found this one pretty quickly. TNLN Thanks, time to carry on up and get Palm Walk.
No trolls found today, just a little plastic box. Log duly signed and off to the Palm Walk. Thanks for the dry placement
quick find with geopom and extended family. Nice to see other caches in this area, considering my caches are prevalent in this area (althought this was here before mine). Traded TB's TFTC
Number 359. A quick find after jumping on the rock Retrived the cache easily after that and signed the log... a nice good distance from the camping ground were we stayed the night. Our penultimate find for our 2nd day of our 2nd Banks Peninsula trip. SL TFTC.
A nice wee stretch for a simple find, use to camp out here in another life

Oh a bit of a stretch after a bit of a search on this great day out after having visited the LR fair. TFTH
Personal height is important. It was raining so avoiding slippery parts was imperative. Not long after earthquake so you can imagine my heart rate after a car thundered by, while in the act of retrieving.!! Thank you.
