No luck here as well despite a very systematic search. Ill put on my watch list and return for another day of hiking in this lovely reserve if there are any positive signs of life.
I lost track of time searching for this cache. I'm not sure what's happened to it...I poked, prodded and excavated a particular spot more than I care to admit...I search the dead tree and the others nearby trees but still couldn't find this cache.. oh well you can't win them all.
Yay we made it! The whole place to ourselves to relax in the sun for lunch. Nice easy find. Tftc!
years have passed since my first visit to this reserve
and it seems the passage of time has blurred my memory
i did not remember the hills have such potency
or now i am just older and unfitter and quick to grumble
but whatever the cause, it was a joy to be back in the bush treading the trails
this particular geriatric walking group seemed to shadow me like a persistent mosquito, just only slightly less blood-thirsty
but once we shook them off, we had the forest to ourselves
the plateau was hailed as a relief to the legs
the final kicker of an ascent was not
but soon enough we sat upon the grassy knoll and tried to make out a view amid the eucalypts
so thanks for the incentive to return
and for the treasure in a mighty-fine spot

Thanks for the view high pressure. be a shame to walk all the way up hrel without the magnificent view it promises. The cache was found in good nick and pencil still works. Now I'm just get home before I get into trouble. regards Vic.
The first big adventure since second lockdown with day1976. This area is at the top of our joined 25km zones, and I knew it wouldn't be super busy! My partner came along for the hike to get out of the house.
Awesome view, and what a hike up here.
Awesome view, and what a hike up here.
Out with the geo husband breaking the cache drought. Sweet view. Found cache container completely smashed. Luckily had materials at hand to do a quick fix and swag it up with goodies. Thanks for bringing us here, pretty wonderful hidden gem: this hill that is the backdrop to our home.
Nice visit to steel my nerves, for I am not a man of steel nor iron man. Container was smashed and plastic fragile so swapped for one we had. See pic
Lovely views over the yarra valley and mt st Leonard from up here. A great spot for lunch and a cache. Tftc
I was going to write a lovely log about the awesome day, the adventure, the fun with great friends, the amazing views, including how we got here, but after Sunday’s debacle on social media...

This reserve has been on my list for years. Many a time glancing over the map this area was mostly void of caches, but now an epic puzzle series and trads where in play. A great series with a mixture of terrian both on and off track. With all puzzles solved sometime back between myself and ahomburg it was just a matter of when. Well finally today it was. A total of 6 hours was spent meandering around the park and upto the trig point and back. All caches found, some with very effective camo that made the discovery take longer then expected. Big thanks to the CO for showing me around this impressive flora and fauna reseve with ahomburg today. Total of about 16km and over 25,000 steps according to fitbit. Good stuff. [^]
Nice stroll up here and nice thigh burner for the last 160m. Glad to finally reach here with the closest unfound Trig now off the list. Nice views north through the trees.

Find #9462
After having finally having made my way through the WW puzzles with confirmed coordinates for all, finally my caching partner in crime sedgwickDave and I finally had a free day to hit the hills of Warramate and more. We had a big day with over 15km of walking and over 600m of vertical ascent, we certainly worked hard for our terrain stars. The weather was mainly pretty good, overcast with the sun occasionally showing itself and also a couple of very quick showers. It was a great day.
Wow, what a great view, fantastic to finally get here to find this cache and also to log the nearby trigpoint.
Many thanks to hi pressure for the cache. TNLN.

Our final cache for the day and the final 100m being the toughest of the day really but the views were awesome and the cache find was quick.

18/6/17 3:06 pm #2387 This was a long way from where we parked but RoxyP and i found it safe and sound after one final steep up hill trek ... views were spectacular but no camera shot can pick that up.
Thanks for the adventure.
Thanks for the adventure.
What a hike to get there. Night climb with Gunks. Easy spot once there but my feet seemed to be squeezed into the front half of my shoes on the steep descent. TFTC
Found tonight with Trailstevo after a night of puzzling last week. We had three of the WW series on our radar tonight as well as "Mate Steel a view". Ended up a 10km hike, a great workout, a sweaty mess was i and a little wildlife too tonight, Roos, wombats, possums, deer and a scorpion. Thanks for the outing Cache Guardians TFTC
I cut across the light scrub near the *Tower of Cirith Ungol* cache to get back to the main gravel track leading across to this cache and hilltop trig-point. Having got as far as the aforementioned cache, the remaining journey was, relatively speaking, a breeze. Mostly gentle slopes, if any slope at all, and a nice dependable track surface. I recall black wallabies scurrying off the track as I approached. I swear that I only ever see this curious species when I'm utterly alone in relatively isolated places. Upon reaching GZ I took the obligatory trig-point selfie, which I may use if I'm ever able to log into Geocaching Australia again, then actually consulted the GPS for the first time in ages. I probably could have got away without it again here, as I had at *Cirith Ungol*: this was pretty much the antithesis of a "tricky hide". Then it was time for a brisk 3-4 km walk back down the hill to my car as night encroached, to then turn my attention to the matter of night-caching. Thanks hi pressure and Cache Guardians!
I picked up my prize of a loaf of bread from the Yering farmer's market... it is *very nice* veganbaker was very kind to offer it to the next finder.
This log is a branch of my adventures with *Tower of Cirith Ungol* ([GCJYAQ](https://www.geocaching.com/seek/log.aspx?LUID=2a843e96-96be-4013-85b0-0c20f80775d5)). Below the tower with just a hundred or so metres (up!) to go I decided to take out this target of opportunity while I was here. I don't know if there is any other way in so there was no way I was going to let this one go and have it taunt me later. Although it was 900 metres away I remember seeing it on the topo map and being along a ridge line, or perhaps a shallow saddle.
In a sense I was right, except for the last 100m or so which was bloody tough going. But with the previous cacher placing a loaf of sourdough in the container (well, a voucher for one) I couldn't resist. It was hard work climbing the hill, stopping every 15m or so for a breather. Eventually the trig point revealed itself and motivation was boosted to go and find the cache. For the last hour, after leaving WW Confluence at river level below, I had been climbing non-stop and it was very steep at times.
Arriving at the trig there were unfortunately no views. Drizzle was settling in and all I could see beyond the trees was white. But it didn't matter. I had pushed myself hard to find these two caches on top of the hills and this was just the motivation I needed to head back and make the final push up to the phone tower. I dropped a kiddies game in to the container and took the bread voucher and messaged the baker. There was also an anonymous finder (see pic) which was great to see.
Thanks Hi Pressure for yet again pushing my fitness and bringing me to a wonderful location.

Was out riding in warramate and thought I'd check out the trig point and then remembered the geocaching app. Haven't done it for over a year. Must do some more. Didn't have anything with me so I left a note for someone to exchange for a loaf of my sourdough bread.
Spiffy- and I decided to push on past the original plan and get this cache too. Lots of chat early but not much by the time we reached GZ as we were buggered. An ants nest was on top of the cache but we just had the one that made it onto us. Thanks hi pressure for the cache.
Today I was heading out with Fleabag- again for a bit of hill climbing and bush walking since the weather was perfect for it. Yay, spring has arrived. We spent a few hours, did a lot of hill climbing, bush bashing and found a whole 5 caches for the afternoon but it was really good exercise.
We continued our walk to the top of this peak to find an ant nest on the cache. Fleabag- then nicely and unexpectedly tipped his water on my head to cool me down while I was putting the cache back.
Then about 500m down the track a lone ant from the nest finally made it up to my neck and started to climb into my ear.
Thanks hi pressure for the cache, the hunt and the walk.

I had cached in this reserve once upon a time many years ago. There were a few more caches here back then. This is the one that I hadn't had time for, but today I was back in the area with my mate BernieH to grab a few that he hadn't done and one new one that had popped up that we had solved. After re-finding the LotR Nutcache cache nearby, and Bernie adding his name to the log book we wondered if we had enough time to duck up and grab this one. I had school pick-up duties back in Emerald at 3:30 but given that we can both put on a bit of pace when we need to and the track didn't look too onerous, we headed off, made good time, found the cache easily and enjoyed the magnificent views. I'll give this one a favourite point purely on location alone. Thanks hi_pressure, nice to grab yet another rone of yours.
I was intending on staying home today and doing some work but then I was conversing with Day1976 via BookFace and a plan was hatched to grab a couple of caches whilst going for a walk. Where better to go than Warrenmate Hills Flora and Fauna Reserve.
This is the extent of our walk today having come in from Yarraloch Road gate via a couple of other geocaches. We return back to the cars from here via another cache in a different direction. It is a great walk into this area nicely greened from the winters rains. Great views.
Thanks for placing this cache hi pressure

After visiting the tower I made my way across the spur to the top of Steel Hill and the trig point. Views across the Yarra Valley towards Healesville are a must for the photographer. As I was finishing off the business and turned to leave I met up with a muggle (Steve) that had just made his way up. We introduced ourselves and walked back down together.
Thanks hi pressure. Left a TB (Connecticut kid 2)

Sunny Sunday walk around Warramate Hill. Greatlunch spot. Easy find. Beware of ant freeway near cache!
Found on a bushwalk with the Bushrangers Womens Walking Club, Bingami, Legweak and Mincka. Quick sharp climb up to this one and found quickly. TFTC.
After doing a cache just over the other side of the hill I came up here to be greeted with fantastic views over the valley below with the sun peaking through some cloud cover it was truely a sight to behold. Made a quick find and signed the log. TFTC hi pressure and for showing me this great part of the world, fave given.
With trying to make sure that MVMB achieved as many different Difficulty and Terrain combos as possible in a day I hadn't taken note of which were for Premium Members, so we headed out on extended night walk. After Tower of Cirith the walk was much easier. Being a bit of a 'Trig hunter' I was pleased to be also able to bag the one nearby the cache.
The cache had been well covered, and rather lonely, so I cleaned it off a touch before opening.
Dry and intact inside. 2100 hrs but will book mark for the Challenging Cache elective, as I already have enough for the Night Caching one. #27 of 28 different combos today.

A couple of hours was found to do other caches in the area and enjoy the walk in this beautiful reserve. A real hidden gem so close to melbourne. The reserve needs more promotion and more caches. It has such great views as well and beautiful scenery
Started off the steep walk to where some other more maintained track is, but I have never worked out where it comes from. Made fairy good time and found the cache. After seeing it from a distance. The phone needle didnt curve to turn me left instead just stayed reading 10m straight ahead.
Added a bit more camo and admired the view and wondered why they had removed the fire tower from near to here. Only place that looks up the valleys.
Thanks for bringing me to this reserve. Gave it a favourite for that reason. TFTC TNLN.

This was a really nice day for caching with good company and good box in the end. Only the almost dead Wombat was a bit weird but hey: It just was his time I guess. The fellow already looked pretty old.

Third find on an excellent walk with Philipp. Cache is dry and in good condition. Great views over the valley from here.
Found it. Wow long hard walk from the yarra loc car park, but oh so worth it. Actually set off without my GPS how stupid, but had been in the area before and new where to head. Found cache quickly and sat at the trig point eating my apple, just me the peace and quite and a lone eagle floating above me. Great day. thanks
found this cache with roughasguts watch out for bullants left tape measure toke 100 dollar note key ring
Great hike up here, nice area, we did 11 km round trip by the time we got back to the car with mtpmacca, took short cut down following mountin bike tracks cut off at least 3 km
The cache is in great condition with quality swaps and is heavily guarded by very large bull ants ! Beware.

While browsing Google Earth (with geocaches shown) discovered Warramate Hills Reserve - I'd never heard of it before; but it looked promising for a day walk sometime. Well that time came today. Very pleased to have made the effort to walk up here - great views even with the cloudy sky (might have to come back on a clear sunny day). Arrived at the Trig at 13:30 - perfect timing and place for lunch. Cache was an easy find though just a bit buried. TNLNSL. TFTC
Thanks again Hi for a worthwhile Sunday stroll. You've sparked a keen interest now for me regarding Trig Points. Marvellous views on the way up and at GZ. Thoroughly enjoyed the hunt. Signed log but took nothing, just stood and gazed for a while. TFTC
Up early for some exercise before breakfast on a magnificent spring day in the valley.
Its a pity more cachers don't make the trip to this part of the world and there is the added bonus of many great wineries to have breakfast at after the climbing is done.

After the climb to a nearby cache, this was a lovely stroll on a sunny day to a place with a pretty good view. Marred only by the burning -off going on, but after last year it has got to be done! Thanks again hi pressure. Only the second visitor to the good cache!
Congratulations acts2youthgroup on the FTF.
I do enjoy walking along that track.
I do enjoy walking along that track.
After completing Where’s Warran Mate? I continued along the track, that was not as steep as I thought it was going to be, it was a pleasant walk and I spotted a Goanna and an Echidna along the way to the top where the cache was soon in hand for, you guessed it another FTF. Thanks hi pressure for the cache I hope you like walking back up this track.
