In Melbourne for the Grand Final weekend and before sitting down to watch the game, took the son and grandson out around this park for a couple of caches. Managed five for the hour we were here, and all were found with issue.
Thanks for the walk and the chance to show the grandson what the 'treasures' look like.

I started working on qualifying for "The Helen D'Amico Challenge (a 365 day streak challenge)" (GC873NG) at the end of last year. So of course by working on that challenge I have slowly progressed filling in my "Finds by Found Date" calendar.
I have always had more find dates in my "Finds by Hidden Date" calendar than my "Finds by Found Date." However, after working on this challenge that was no longer the case. In order to balance the two I decided to try and focus on finding some caches that would close off some of the gaps I have in my "Finds by Hidden Date" calendar. So today I decided to come out to try and find this one, as I needed to find a cache hidden on the 6th of December.
This one was a nice quick find. With the beacon being fairly obvious once I arrived at GZ, I saw something that didn't quite match. I have seen a similar style of hide before, but never this type of twist on the container. A cool idea. Thanks for the fun and TFTC.
Cache Maintenance Status:
The cache container was in good shape with plenty of room for future cache finders to sign.

Found with georocks101. A pretty quick find for us. Had a good idea where to look thanks to some previous caches that are similar. Thanks tackle head
Out today attending the Altona Meadows International caching day event with some friends. Great event, picked up a few caches on our way out.

We noted previous comments and we hunted everywhere including the ground. Grass has been recently mown but no sign of a squashed mint tin. I think it needs the owner to come check.
*The "How Many Caches Can We Get Before SueHut's Appointment" Adventure #7*
Where'd our mojo go? Another fail. This time, there were a bunch of cache notes suggesting "something was up", so we didn't feel too bad about it.
Thanks heaps, Tackle Head!

Found this one on the ground, and a little ran over. No longer able to be attached. Will need to be looked at
See previous log regarding condition. Managed to retrieve log signed and returned as found
A full day of uninterrupted caching in Melbourne, WITH a car this time! The possibilities are overwhelming. I’ve decided to head to the Williamstown/Altona area for a bit of sea air, and cache on foot where I can. Thanks to all the COs for all the great caches I found today.
Quite grand!
Found the cache sitting on the lawn. It seems colour coded, yet there’s no way to secure it to the corresponding colour. Also the tin is partly crushed, so put the log back with the spiral uppermost so the next person can get it out.

Out with Rebel Acts far from home to put some smiles on the map.
Looks the sign as being updated, but found the container on the ground next to it.
Cheers

Out with au.fait, we had a lovely day walking and talking while caching in the Spotswood and Altona areas. Interesting information on storage of explosives. Thanks tackle head.
It’s always a good day spent with echidna44, and add caching and it becomes excellent. This expedition ranged from Spotswood to Altona. Thankfully a quick find here as tiredness level increasing now TFTC tackle-head
Found at 12:04 PM GAFF5 in the company of Rabbitto.
This turned out to be a bit of an embarrassment as the "red herring" was checked out and then Dean found the real cache, which was nicely squashed so that it took us about 10 minutes to get the log book out [B)]

Have found a few of this style around Altona. Cache has indeed seen better days.
Like like the container has been run over and I found it on the grass. Put it back safely but the log is so squashed you need tweezers to get it out now.
After having our attention diverted by something else we soon came up with the hide. TFTC TAD
Quick find on our bike ride along the shore line. Lovely garden nearby and golf course opposite. Never knew about the explosives reserve! Thank you for bringing us here. TFTC
The 7th out of 13 caches we have planned to visit today, as well as my 50 finds milestone! a nice quick find and another smiley added to the map, thanks tackle head!

I have had my eye on this area for a while so today Fleabag- and I brought the bikes over which made it much easier riding around all these trails. I started out cloudy, then it rained lightly for a while so Fleabag- ducked back to the car for raincoats and then of course the rain stopped and it was really sunny. Just as our few hours here ended it went cloudy and rained again. We found all the caches in the park with no DNF's which was awesome...it's been a while since we've done that.
On our first pass here due to the name we thought we needed a magnet so for the rest of the day we looked around and eventually found a cache with a good magnet, quickly brought it here to use and then realised we didn't even need it. Quickly returned the other cache and moved on. Gee, I feel like an amateur at this sometimes.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache, the adventure, the hunt and the fun.

#4316 A day out down south so we could take the geohounds to the dog beach at Altona for some fun. We also met up with Kokowon who we haven't seen since Christmas due to the lockdown. After lunch we then all tackled a bunch of caches in this Reserve on foot.
Our second find for the day. We quickly dismissed one spot at gz that we thought may host the cache and had our hands on the prize quickly following. Was really funny hearing what Spiffy and Fleabag had done here in trying to locate the cache when we bumped into them a little later on. Loved the history here, TFTC and sharing tackle_head.

Spiffy- and I planned a cache day Sunday but the target area was a little undecided. Mainly because rain was coming. Finally we settled on Altona and the large trad trail. So we loaded the stealth bikes in and headed off. Driving there rain was falling, but it was only 10am and it was due at 3pm. Parked at the skate park and still a few spots of rain but so warm so we headed off. A few caches in I went back to my for rain jackets which I wore for only a few minutes then carried. Ironically arrived home sunburnt.
All caches were eventually found and the CO effort on these was great. We appreciated the work and the effort to place them.
So.. a funny cache this one. Fav given. We arrived and assumed wrongly and left thinking we needed a tool.
Returned via a 4km detour and a make shift tool. Only to find we didnt need it and we assumed wrong and it was infact quite simple.
Now returning the tool .. the police stopped us as a person had just reported 2 people on electric bikes had graffitied the nearby train. A couple of minutes of questioning and we were cleared as we did not look like young men as reported. Pfff ...
So a cache we will remember for many years.
Thanks to tackle_head for the placement and fun.

Another beautiful day out with the dogs. Just trying to concur the rest that we have left. Easy find TFTC
Decided the weather was too good so stepped out for an afternoon walk and some caches in the beautiful melbourne weather with Kristysadventures
Saw something odd but soon worked out what it was for and it was not part of the cache - the cache was right near it.
Thanks tackle_head for the cache.

Hi there tackle_head.
We found your cache **"The Maggo"** today. (This makes our find count 24170).
We headed back towards Truganina Park today - and wandered around the Explosives Reserve track. We were glad to venture out and enjoy the sunshine even though the wind was ffreezing.. We had a successful day & found 8 caches & DNF'd 1 .
Over the years, Geocaching has taken us on many adventures and to lots of wonderful destinations all over Australia. Without 'caching as our guide we would never have found so many interesting places on our nomadic wanderings. 'Caching has also introduced us to a diverse group of like-minded people, many of whom we now call friends.
**Cache Condition:** The container and log book are in good shape.
**Took:** Nothing
**Left:** Smiley Badge.
Thank you for placing this cache here & adding to our adventure.
Regards
Ian & Penny

This one had us looking in the wrong spot for a while, but we shifted our search, __Cat__ noticed something out of place and the cache was found. TFTC
Not sure if the maggo should read maggot or what, then worked out it is short for MAGAZINE, Thanks for the hide tackle-head
An easy find for everyone else, yet another DNF for me.
So here my attempt at the double P366 loop for this year failed. No find recorded today.

I was looking for a quick couple of finds each side of midnight for my cache a day streak and this area has been good for just that reason. today was no exception. After finding one just up the road just before midnight I headed up the gravel road a short way for this one. Again I didn't need my GPS to locate this quick find.
I do think however I may have put the wrong date on the log, it was only when I got home later I looked at the date on my phone and realized I was a day out. Oops but that doesn't really matter too much
Thank you tackle_head for the hide your cache hide have really helped my quest to find a cache a day for a whole 366 days straight

Annoying Tarbit and I had decided to have a caching day in and around Werribee today. It's not an area I have cached in, so there were plenty of caches to look for on our route around. When we started it was relatively mild and you could see the city from our first caching spot. By the end it was very hot and the smoke haze made it difficult to see much around. We found ~60 and had just the one DNF today.
AT had already found this cache so again stood back and watched me look for it. A more straightforward find here, which was nice. The loop completed, it was time to move to the next group of caches. TFTC tackle_head

Thanks! We also timed this when the reserve was open! In 10 years of living here we’ve never done it! Nice little stop.
Going for a big score today :3 want to get closer to my 1k milestone so this awesome series will help me smash it out!!
Our mission this week is to complete the Mystery at the Museum challenge. We chose the HD Reserve, Truganina Park and the wetlands to find the required caches to get the stolen jewels back into the vault. TFTC
Final cache for tonight. Log was quite wet but still able to sign. Was a quick find.
