It’s road trip time. With plenty of places out east that have yet to be explored, OzHockeyChick and I set off to see some sights in Gippsland.

A nice old church that could do with some TLC as it starts to rot away (helped by birds attacking it).

Thanks Poiter.h for adding this cache to the worldwide collection for us all to enjoy.

We decided to go for a day trip drive to Port Welshpool/Port Albert with the kidlets from home in Melb.

It's been a while since we have done much caching so we thought we would do a few today to help break up the long drive.

Mrs P selected this cache, and what a great one. Very interesting history and a beautiful old building.

Loved the nearby mangrove lined river as well - the kids especially enjoyed watching all the soldier crabs in the muddy shore.

Thanks for bringing this interesting area to our attention greynomads/poiter.h. Really worth a visit.

Thanks for the cache greynomads/poiter.h.

We're staying at the nearby Yarram Caravan Park and decided to come for a drive to check out the area and incidentally fill in a space on our geocaching calendar. We always love a cache at a historical site and this church reminded us of one we saw in Latvia a few years ago. Or was it Lithuania? Razz Either way we were reminded Smile

Using the hint for this cache made the find easier and somewhat quicker too. All was in good condition and the log was duly signed before being returned to its proper hiding place. Old churches are always interesting and it looked as though the bell could still be rung, but we did not dare to try it. Thanks greynomads for a cache at an historical building in a lovely area.
