Thanks for taking me to another new spot. Cache found on round looking a bit beaten. Have moved back a bit and surrounded it with wood and rock
Spotted as driving up to GZ, logged with Granville86a, interesting area, thanks for sharing!
Found with Camp Mother & Ken just as a snow storm begins!! Just as well we have 4WD!!! TFTC
Not much to Look at but a very cool reserve. The lid of the Cache is Cracked and the log is getting wet. Tftc.
Quick find. The container is so full of rubbish. Such a pity that's all you find in caches these days. Except for the trackables. We took the travelling Buddha because he didn't really fit in there. Minus 1 out here and very foggy. TFTC
I didn't get out the car, I didn't want to see any beetles...yuck. Nana got the cache and I signed it. TFTC
Some interesting local natural history. I kept an eye out for the beetle but didn't see any.
Many thanks
Many thanks
Quick find, didn't see any beetles. I guess the picture makes it look bigger than it really is.
Found on our Invercargill to Christchurch road trip. Thanks to all the Cache Owners. SL TFTC.

My sister in law is doing some research on the spiders in this area. Driving past heading from Dunedin to Mt Cook and we stopped off to see where she was working. Checked to see if there were any geocaches nearby and sure enough there was. TFTC. Also find #1900.
Once again missing my 4wd and deciding the track is a little rough for the rental.

Thanks for the cool cache - was tempted to go into the reserve to try and spot one! It is a nice change from caching on the West Coast to find dry caches with dry log books!
Very interesting paddock! It's amazing the information you pick up along the way! tftc
Nice and easy park and grab. At least PurpleDragonFire and myself did it that way as we had a 4WD. TFTC
This is the first cache I found! And I even learnt more about the beetles on the way. TFTC!
Probably crunched a few beatles on my way to this rather exposed cache. I fear for the future of this cache... it has little protection from the elements or even half blind muggles.
Quick and easy find with 3/4 of weebeanz 4 and their Aunty Lynnie. Beautiful day in and around Cromwell following kids soccer and while the other members of the team checked out tractors. First of the A-Z found (with others on the hit list it looks like we will be doing them out of order!). TFTC
Its been a hard day's night? Twist and Shout? Please. please me - YES, cache found quickly and on the road again.
We found the cache. The cache, was difficult to find.
Our first cache in NZ. Thanks.
Our first cache in NZ. Thanks.
Nabbed on a bit of a drive by..
Thanks for the cache phiki614 and the research on the beetle. We nabbed a few of the A - Z series, though no time to do the alphabet justice.

A very interesting story, and a quick find here while RexTrex kinldy chaufferred us around. I wish we had time to do the full A to Z, but not this visit. Thanks phiki614.
Found at 10:58 AM GAFF1 in the company of Phetlern. Odd that the beetle just inhabits this spot! We like these sort of caches where we can drive right up to them - even in our camper vans.
Thanks phiki614
Thanks phiki614
5726 + 591 = 6317. Day 8 of my week-ish long visit to the New Zealand South Island for the NZ Mega 2012 event along with Sol de Lune, Zsazsa7, Winglen and RexTrex.
Today we drove from Te Anau to Cromwell. Another lovely drive through the NZ landscape. A quick dirt drive in for a quick find at GZ. Nice !
Thanks phiki614 !
TNLN – TFTC !!

Today it was a our second last day in NZ and our trip took us from to Te Anau up to Cromwell. Stopped at all the caches we could along the way and ended up claiming about 35 for the day. The cache was found after a quick search, no problems with it.
Found with ZsaZsa7, Winglen and fitzy_1965 on our trip around the South Is after attending the New Zealand Mega. We managed to grab a few caches on travels and this was just one of them.
Thanks for the cache and the chance to see more of the South Island.

Another day on the trail with Pprass sightseeing, wine tasting and caching around Queenstown and Cromwell. We had heard of these little critters before. Just sorry we couldn't follow this series to the end.
TNLN . . SL . . Thanks for the hunt phiki614.

A sandy road not far from where we'd been staying, so too good an opportunity to pass up Cheers Gav
Day 14 of our NZ tour for the MEGA, we are visiting from Perth, Western Australia still driving around with our MEGA and Aussie flags on the Geo Hire Car. We seem to be getting some toots from fellow geocachers and other Aussies alike!
Only travelling 60kms today from Queenstown to Cromwell, but so many geocaches to find!
So after missing this one as we approached town, managed to head back this afternoon for a straight forward find. Interesting about the beetle here.
Thanks for sharing the information with us. Boy the wind has really picked up tonight, hope the weather is going to be okay tomorrow. Think we are heading for Haast tomorrow.

A conference that Mrs G was attending in Queenstown was a perfect 'excuse' for the whole family to come too and have a wee holiday. Came out to Cromwell for a daytrip....and to visit Bannockburn which has been on our 'to do' list for a while. Cornered a few caches along the way. Great desolate wee spot. Speedway in action but managed to corner the cache without too much trouble (although; whilst parked alongside & Wee Dude fosicking a car load of bogans drove around us - wonder what they thought?! ha ha ha)....Great spot. Cheers.
Lots of rabbit poo on wrong side of rabbit proof fence - maybe the rabbit got in and can't get out now??

Easy find. Been past this reserve many times but never stopped to read about the beetles.
